I know you know yesterday was Valentine's Day, and it's a good day to take your "Better Half" (and…read moreyou know that's true) out for Dinner at one of her favorite places. "The Grill". That also sounds really good to me. We know The Grill will be busy, especially since Valentine's Day falls on a Saturday, so we left earlier than normal. Arrived, and a good number of cars were parked all around. Walked in, and the place is packed, with every bar stool and table taken. The Hostess said it will only be a few minutes for your table. In a couple of minutes, a table was available. After we were seated, more people arrived, but they also only had to wait a couple of minutes. The Grill has two bartenders working along with several servers, and a couple of employees cleaning up the tables when they become available. Our Server is Sophia, and she took our drink order. Two Jack-N-Cokes and waters. While we waited for our drinks, we looked over the menu. We kind of already know what we are going to order, and we did. My Wife is going with one of her usuals, their "Happy Hour Nachos" ($6.50), listed as 'Roasted Pork Nachos' on the main menu. Slow Roasted Pork, Chipotle Sauce, Tomatoes, Cilantro, Black Beans, Cheddar Cheese over lots of Fresh Chips with Green sliced Jalapenos on one side, and Red sliced Jalapenos throughout the plate. I am going with the "Baja Fish Tacos", Blackened Baja Fish with Chipotle Sauce, and pickled Slaw. Served with Guacamole, Rice, Black Beans, and double Corn Tortillas for three Tacos. We placed our order with Sophia when she served our drinks. Then we toasted to Valentine's Day, and us. The bartenders here make the Best Jack-N-Cokes around. They are really good, smoooooooth, and go down easy. While we waited for our food, The Grill became busier and busier, with more people waiting. Glad we came a little early. Sophia stopped by, as well as one of the Managers checking on us to see if we needed anything. Service here is always tops. Soon our food arrived, and my Wife's Roasted Pork Nachos were served the same as they always have been, piled up high and covering the entire plate, and I might add, very colorful. I Love the way they prepare the Baja Fish Tacos with a Huge chunk of perfectly grilled fish all by itself next to the Rice & Black Beans, a large scoop of Fresh Guacamole, and several Corn Tortillas for you to make your own, with Pickled Slaw to the side. Both dishes are a Beautiful Presentation of Deliciousness that you will find nowhere else. The Grill does it right. My Wife's Nachos have a lot of melted cheese oozing everywhere with lots of corn chips and several pounds of Roasted Pulled Pork. Well, okay, maybe not 'pounds', but there are a lot of large chunks throughout this dish. She said it is delicious and loving that Pulled Pork. She ate about half of it and will take the rest home for a meal that will be for both of us - you get a lot of food at The Grill. I cut off a long chunk of fish, spread their Chipotle Sauce on a couple of corn tortillas, then the fish, topping it off with rice & black beans, guacamole, and their pickled slaw. This Fish Taco is Deliciousness and more. The perfectly grilled Baja Fish has lots of flavor with just enough spice from the chipotle sauce. I made three of these, each a little different, and they all were very Tastylicious. Each Taco was so filled with goodies I could not fold it over, and I ate them more like a Tostada instead. Either way, they are The Best. I also have some fish left over that I ate with the remaining sides, adding that chipotle sauce to each bite. I ate all of mine, with no leftovers to take home. While we were enjoying our food, Sophia said that she would like to take a picture of us with my camera because we are a cute couple. Hey, I couldn't disagree with that, so she did. Flattery will get you everywhere. Thank You Sophia. Well, guess what? Sophia earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm, and a nice tip. We boxed up my Wife's leftovers and headed home, and The Grill was still busy as ever when we left. This was a Great way to enjoy a Valentine's Day Dinner.

The place is small but cozy! Aiden was the best server! He was knowledgeable about the meal…read morerecommendations and was polite and courteous! The appetizer was a cheese and guacamole dip.. this was not the best queso but the guacamole was delicious! We ordered the blackened fish and 8oz sirloin! The steak had a good char and was well seasoned too! I order my steak rare and it was rare! Yes! The loaded mashed potatoes were very good too! The fish was well cooked and not dry. Will definitely recommend!

"MOTHERS DAY LUNCH OUT - KOREAN STYLE"…read more Our Mothers Day Celebration was up to my Lovely Wife, Nancy. We have wanted to try out GoGo GoGi Korean BBQ since it first opened and we have yet to do so - and it's only a few blocks from the house. Sunday morning she informed me to make reservations for the three of us at GoGo GoGi for a 12:30 Lunch, if you can. I went on-line and made our reservations - it's that easy. So, after Church and Sunday School, we came home for a bit and then left for GoGo GoGi. I have had lots of Korean food when I was stationed in Korea (60yrs ago) for 14-Loooooooong months and enjoyed all that I tried - and most food I didn't even know what I was eating. I'm sure at GoGo GoGi I will know what I am ordering. Anyway, we arrived right on time, gave them my name and we were shown to a booth. GoGo GoGi is a place where you can cook the food you order right at your table or order something that they will prepare for you in their Kitchen. The Decor here is Very Unique and well done with every area somewhat private with each booth having their own cooking area in the middle of the table. Charlie is our Server and right away we wanted to order our drinks - and we know what that is. They have a Sunday Special on Bloody Marys for only 6-Bucks - that's what all of us want. Charlie explained what their Daily Special is for Mothers Day, how they operate at GoGo GoGi and what they have to offer, especially for first timers. This took a while because GoGo GoGi has a lot to choose from - This trip out we decided to take it easy and ordered from their Lunch Menu Specials. We are going with what Charlie recommended; the "Spicy Tofu Stew" (without the tofu - we've had it and don't care for it) This Stew consist of Egg & Steamed Rice, an Authentic Korean Favorite. Served with an Egg Role & drink of choice. "Wings"; Six-Wings tossed in Honey-Garlic Sauce (choice). Served with French Fries and a drink of choice. "K-Tacos"; A Korean-Mexican Fusion Dish. Three-Flour Tortilla Tacos with Beef (choice), served with a side of Corn. All three of these dishes are being shared by the three-of-us to sample what GoGo GoGi has. It might not be a true Korean meal but it is what we are going to try - besides, Tacos are good anywhere and from anywhere. Soon after we ordered our Bloody Marys arrived and they are in a Very Nice Size Glass. We toasted and the first sip told us something about this drink - this is some Goooood Stuff. We all LoVe Bloody Marys and I will say that these Bloody Marys are the Best we have had in San Angelo. The Spiced taste is Spot-On-Perfect and balances out very well with the rest. Perfectly Flavorful - and instead of an Olive they added an Okra. One of the Staff brought over three metal dishes with some kind of sauce for each of us - I asked what it was and they didn't know. I tasted it and it's good, not much flavor but kind of nutty and served cold. While we waited for our food we enjoyed those Bloody Marys. Soon the 'Spicy Tofu Stew' (minus tofu) arrived along with the 'Wings'. Their serving bowls are very Unique and different - love'em. We actually dipped the soup bowls into the larger bowl of Spicy Soup and served in a long Boat dish. This made it easier to serve to each of us. (the Spoon they provided was much to small to serve from the Big bowl to the Smaller ones for each of us) This 'Spicy (minus tofu) Stew' (which is actually soup) is what it says - It's SPICY, but not overly so, just enough to taste the rest of the ingredients they don't list - and it's some good stuff. Joe didn't care for the Spicy Stew (soup), but Nancy and I did. Next are the 'Wings' - these are Small Wings that have a Thick Crunchiness to them and are carrying some Spice. They do have a nice crunch but not much meat - and it is tasty with Very Unique Flavoring. While we were enjoying two of the three items we ordered, the third item, the 'K-Tacos' arrived and they are Very Thick and stuffed full of goodies not listed on the menu - with a container of Corn to the side. We each grabbed one and I added some Corn to mine along with that nutty stuff we were first served, whatever it is. The Flour Tortilla was grilled just enough and all the goodies inside made this a Very Tastylicious Korean-Mexican Fusion creation - and like I said, Tacos are good anywhere and from anywhere - and they make you happy - it's what Tacos do. Charlie was really good in providing us with lots of information on what GoGo GoGi offers - and earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award. - But - also found out after we returned home that we didn't get the Steamed Rice & Egg Role with the Stew (or Soup) or the French Fries with the Wings - and a drink of your choice with some of the items we ordered. These were all listed on the menu - oh well, live and learn - we still had fun and the place is Very Unique. We will go back and try the 'cooking' at your table part... Looks Like Fun.
