I purchased a 2018 Toyota Camry from Mathews Honda in March 2026 after being advised the vehicle had an insurance-related repair estimate around $1,900. I later learned the insurance adjuster had not even inspected the vehicle at the time of sale. After repairs were completed, I immediately discovered overspray, sanding marks, paint defects, alignment concerns, and other visible issues. Independent collision professionals later identified additional concerns involving repair quality, panel alignment, and long-term durability. The repair estimate ultimately escalated to nearly $7,000. Over several weeks, I made multiple 200-mile round trips attempting to resolve the matter professionally and repeatedly requested repair documentation, calibration reports, structural measurements, OEM verification, and warranty clarification. Much of that information was delayed, unavailable, or never fully provided. The final meeting at the dealership was extremely disappointing. While Rick attempted at times to remain professional, my interaction with General Manager Dave Columber was, in my personal opinion, dismissive, evasive, and confrontational. Rather than directly addressing my concerns, the conversation repeatedly shifted toward criticizing me for allowing the dealership additional time to correct the issues in good faith and emphasizing the financial impact that unwinding the transaction would allegedly have on the dealership. Even during my final inspection, I still observed paint and finish defects in the repaired panels. Ultimately, I paid additional money out of pocket simply to have the dealership take the vehicle back and end the situation. I strongly encourage anyone purchasing a repaired vehicle to independently inspect it, request all documentation in writing, and verify warranty coverage before finalizing a purchase. read more

Went this past weekend to look at new, 21' Honda H-RV's with my Mother. She's looking for a new vehicle. We decided to test drive a H-RV Sport. The salesgirl told us she'd bring it right up. Well, she "brought it right up" about 20-25 minutes later. No exaggeration. When we were done with test drive, I explained how we would do a new car purchase: After it is decided what make and model we want, we will give each dealer in a 100 mile radius one chance to put in their best offer. No pitting Dealer against Dealer, No haggling back and forth, we don't care how you structure your sales contracts, all we need to see is an Out-the-Door price and you only get one chance. Then, I will research the best offer we receive and if it is deemed to be a fair price, we make a cash purchase. Also told them we will accept an offer on a trade-in(3yr old vehicle, near mint, 13,500 miles only) but very well may not trade it in. Mathews Honda comes back with an O.T.D. price that is only $200 below the MSRP. No joke. I almost laughed in the salesgirl's face. And their offer on a possible trade-in was $5thousand below a written offer that we have already received. To make sure you understand, it's not like these H-RV's are flying off the lots and they can command full MSRP. Mathews Honda has over 20 of them on their lot. I don't get it. I understand that it's hard to get semi-conductor chips right now so not nearly as many new cars are going out, but these guys have over 20 H-RV's just sitting there. They really don't want to sell them I guess. A very confusing experience. read more
