My family has had the good fortune to work with Mazor Test Prep on tutoring for the ISEE entrance…read moreexam when my children were in 5th grade and applying to private schools, on the AP exams as they made their journey through high school, and on the SATs as they prepared for college. The proof is in their success-my kids scored in the high 80 and 90 percentiles on their ISEEs, were accepted to their private schools of choice, and earned 5s on AP Physics and Calculus exams. My son is a senior, and with Lisa's guidance, achieved a 1530 on the SAT, missing only one math question-no superscore, just one test. Thus far, he has not been turned down by any of the top-tier engineering programs to which he has applied. My younger child is now working diligently with Lisa to maximize his SAT scores as he prepares for college applications in the fall. What makes this all the more impressive is the fact that both my children have dyslexia and dysgraphia-school has not come easy for them. Whether working directly with Lisa or one of her expert team members, you can expect compassion, professionalism, flexibility, and a commitment to meet your child at his or level, emotionally and academically. Lisa and her team are exacting and demanding, but with an understanding that kids' anxiety levels and workloads fluctuate through the school year and need to be taken into consideration and adapted to. Working with Lisa, I felt supported as a parent, and more importantly, I knew that while my children were working hard, they too felt supported. My kids have tried preparing for standardized tests using workbooks and online/in-person group classes, but both report the one-on-one experience they have had with Lisa and her team to be the game-changer. Not only are Lisa and her team effective, they are kind! I have enjoyed all my interactions with them, and the kids do not balk when it is time to get down to work. They also feel motivated to get their work done between sessions, so they are prepared for their next meeting-with no helicoptering from me. This is how test prep should be.

She was underprepared and we only had a few months to get ready. Lisa met with my daughter 10 times over a few months and dramatically improved her scores and confidence. She did this with incredible kindness and empathy for the stress of the process my daughter was going through. I would highly recommend Lisa to any parent whose child is preparing for the SSAT (or SAT for that matter).

We started when our son needed a proctored…read moreexam for the online ed advanced Algebra class he took over the summer before starting high school and he continued to work regularly/weekly with NWES tutor Jason on various things for which he needed guidance over the 4 years in high school. Their sessions were centered on strategy and learning how to organize and develop good study habits and while content teaching was a part of it, our son's growth into a confident student was the most important benefit. The last session with Jason is next week. Our son will be graduating from Ballard High School next Wednesday (with straight As) and in fall he is starting at UW Engineering - majoring in MechEng and Industrial Design. My husband and I are very grateful to Greg and Jason for all the support in last 4+ years. It was really great to know that even though our sone would not really listen to us, Jason will likely get through him and point him in the right direction. It was wonderful to work with NWES. finding them was one of the luckiest accidents!

We used Fusion Math and several different tutors to help my son conquer some algebra and geometry…read morechallenges. Every tutor was really outstanding at breaking down complex issues in a clear way and taking the emotional issues out of the equation. Even more impressive given that all our sessions were remote. Mark Batho is absolutely a pro if you truly need the best. Great people, too!

Great, caring tutors. Fantastic results!…read more My daughter ("M") loved the math tutor she had from 8th through 11th grade, but, come 12th grade, M decided to take "Honors Physics with Calculus" and "Honors Statistics" at the same time. She also wanted to bring up her math SAT score. Concerned that keeping up with M's classes would require too much work, her tutor recommended she switch to FusionMath (based here in Seattle). If you visit their website, you will see bios of all their current tutors. However, when I emailed the company to explain the situation, I said it would be great to get some recommendations from within the list. Mark Batho, the owner, emailed me back within 24 hours introducing himself and inviting me to speak on the phone, which we did shortly thereafter. He started out as a tutor himself, and it was clear from the start he was a very smart man and a highly committed educator. Although he said he had multiple tutors that could handle the job, he did recommend two, both of which were PhD candidates at UW in physics. M started with one shortly thereafter. They hit it off fabulously and M got A's in both of her honors math classes. Moreover, she raised her Math SAT score from 670 up to 730. M's tutor was personable, highly capable, and able to schedule evening and weekend hours, so M could do theatre in the afternoon after school. The owner, Mark Batho, is a delightful man and really seemed to care about how well M did. In total, I very strongly recommend FusionMath. (Fwiw, Mr. Batho also owns Uplift Writing - a writing tutoring company!)

I had a very good experience with private GRE tutoring sessions with Steve. I first took the GRE 20…read moreyears ago when I pursued my Master's in Electrical Engineering and am now planning to pursue a PhD. I had always been a solid standardized test taker and achieved good scores through self-study with books from Princeton Review, but that approach did not work for me this time (likely due to me being out of an academic environment and out of engineering for 10+ years). A family member suggested I try a prep class or tutoring, and I'm so glad I did. I opted for the private tutoring with Steve (the founder/owner) because I felt it would be more effective for me given my specific GRE strengths and weaknesses, and I also thought it would be a more efficient use of my limited time. It worked great for me on both these points. The additional strategies and structure, combined with personalized instruction from Steve were just what I needed. In addition to very good instruction about the overall test and strategies for different sections, Steve added tremendous value by walking me through the diagnostic assessment for each of the 4 or 5 additional online practice tests I completed. This aspect of the test prep was hugely helpful, as it pointed out where I was spending too much time, which types of questions I tended to get right or wrong, where I needed to focus on answering faster but still accurately, and more. Overall, the weeks of tutoring, homework, practice tests, and reviews were excellent training that helped prepare me for the actual test; it was kind of like training for a marathon or other big event. In the end, my scores saw a significant improvement, and I'm thankful to Steve for the coaching and instruction and to everyone at the office for the positive encouragement throughout. A few minor things I think could improve the overall experience: 1/ I was caught by surprise on test day when a 3rd quant section popped up. I had read about the "experimental section" but had forgotten, and all of the practice tests had just the 2 Verbal and 2 Quant, so I had gotten used to that. I'm generally okay under pressure, but would have preferred no surprises in the actual test. This note is mostly for test takers to be aware, but maybe Sandweiss could also provide a little reminder about this during the practice test reviews, or something. 2/ I wish I had done another tutoring session just focused on the essays; in two of my test review sessions, Steve reviewed my Issue and Argument essays and provided useful feedback, but I did not feel as well-prepared on that section of the test. Perhaps an extra session on that would have helped me feel better prepared. 3/ This is nitpicky, but the office building is fairly old. Would be nicer if the offices were in a newer building with nicer facilities and more parking, but I understand this adds cost and all-else being equal, I'd rather keep the rates low and deal with an older building.

They had flexible scheduling, were easy to work with and the girls appreciated the sessions - there was no feet dragging when it came to appointment time.
