I'm putting this out there to hopefully save someone else some time. I was looking for some…read moretutoring help for my daughter in AP Bio. They would give me no price info on line. You have to go in and meet with the center manager and listen to the spiel and not until the end do you get the costs. You have to buy blocks of 50 hours of tutoring at around $90/hour, which means you don't get out of there for under about $4,500.00. Of course, this is paid up front. You can pay for tutoring by the hour, but that is $105.00/hour. Under both scenarios, in that hour they can have up to three students in the tutoring session. Wow! Someone is making a lot of money. Is it the tutors? No. I looked at Glassdoor and the tutors make between $20 to $25 per hour. So, if you do the math, the center is getting up to $315/hour and paying the tutor $25? Caching! Obviously, we didn't sign on, so this is not an entirely fair review. That's why they get a 3. Because they wasted an hour of my time. Maybe their services are really worth that much. I'll never know.

I was trying to pass the West B teacher certification and had taken the math portion already five times and failed when Dimona was recommended to me. I was hesitant because I had been informally tutored with several math teachers that I knew preparing for this test. I went ahead and booked my first session with her. From the first session, I knew this time would be different, as she talked about understanding how I saw thing visually and my struggle was how math had been taught to me in the past. We started fresh and built a foundation. I understood concepts for the first time because of the way she broke them down. If I was struggling with a concept, she tried several ways to explain it better to me. She was patient and compassionate with my comprehension or lack of it when I wanted to quit. But it's the lead person who is talking with you who has that background expertise, not the tutors you will be given. After researching the company further, the amount they pay their tutors is very small compared to what they charge customers.
