I cannot recommend Kids Way enough. After a cross country move, leaving a beloved preschool behind,…read moreI was uncertain about how my more timid child would do in a new school, but Kids Way and the entire faculty made the transition easy and positive. My child has flourished at the school, coming out of her shell and feels so welcomed and loved at her school. Ms. Kymm, the school director is wonderful, kind, and clearly passionate about the school's program and every child. Ms. Kellie, the lead preschool teacher is a treasure and truly develops a bond with each child. I have loved that it's a smaller school, where the teachers are able to give more individualized attention to each child. They do a lot of fun activities and the curriculum seems very well planned out. I'm excited for my child to continue on to the PreK program, and have also enrolled my older child in the summer camp option.

This school has been a safe space for both my girls. My younger daughter is in the Pre-K class right now. My Husband and I go out of our way to drop our children at the little red school house. Ms. Elaine and Ms. Sophie in the Pre-K class upstairs are treasures and are kind and smart and amazing educators. Ms. Jasmine and Ms. Kellie in the downstairs Preschool classroom are kind and patient and all-around wonderful teachers. Ms. Kymm the Owner has a well-run school. I always felt like requests were addressed and there was good communication. The class sizes are also small. The Pre-K class has 12 children, and the Preschool class has 10. The school has cameras, which I appreciate very much because it made me feel better to see my babies while I was at work. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this school. I had enrolled my younger Daughter at Country Dawn, and I do have a preference for Kids Way even although Country Dawn is closer to where I live. I had also enrolled my older daughter at a very reputable (and expensive) daycare in Eastlake area of Seattle. I still have preference, love, and high praise for Kids Way. The two-classroom space makes it more intimate, but the organization makes it seem like a bigger/well run school. I appreciate this so much and appreciate Kids Way for taking such good care of my children all these years.

I had set-up before and after school care with Stephanie and we had a promising first interaction…read more However, a red flag was raised immediately when I noticed it was very difficult to get ahold of her. As a parent, you want to know you can reach the person you are trusting with your most important blessing. My child hadn't began attending Hannah's House yet so I thought perhaps it was a busy day. We met again with Stephanie and planned on beginning as soon as I got a job (I substitute teach) so I know that evening or early morning if I am working. I got a job call Wednesday afternoon so I called Stephanie to set up our first day for Thursday. She didn't call back. I text her. Nothing. Called again. No answer. Since she runs the pre-school, I thought it should be no problem to come in the morning. I show up at 8 a.m., the house is dark. Standing on the porch with my child, we knocked three times. Nothing. We get back in the car and I call her again. Nothing. Luckily, the school was kind enough to let me bring my daughter. As I arrived to begin my job Stephanie calls to tell me she is sick. We all get sick, I'm human and I would understand, however, I didn't get any notification at all and could have had to cancel my job. Glad I learned this now because we will not be having a day 1 here.

I felt optimistic after the initial interview. Stephanie answered our questions and seemed excited…read moreto care for both our kids (ages 7 & 4). She claimed to have flexible daycare hours starting as early as 5:30 am. We agreed to hold a spot for 2 months out by paying for the month of September. That would prove to be a costly commitment. On a daily basis, we brought our kids at 6:15am. After a few knocks she would unlock the door appearing to have just rolled out of bed. No hellos, no smiles, only SHHHH to the kids. No lights would be turned on even when parents tried to sign in their kids in the dark (with the exception of a small night-light lamp). Children are expected to go straight to a sleeping mat and lay down. Our children already get enough sleep prior to waking each morning; they were expected without fail to lie on their mats until 8 am, when Stephanie's own family was ready to start the day. My 7 year old would be given a toddlers size bowl of cereal before school. He was denied more food if he asked. So he ate a portion of his lunch for breakfast on a daily basis. At pick up time around 3:20, Stephanie had calming music playing. She would always claim our 4 year old just dosed off for a minute, but our little girl was strangely quiet on the way home, as if she just woke from a deep sleep. Our children begged not to return within the first week. As you'll read in other reviews, Stephanie never answers her phone. However, she will call you back when she's ready and will repeatedly thank you for voicing any concerns. Don't be fooled by her act. We found Stephanie to be cold, rude, and unwilling to adjust her strict routine. We found care elsewhere two weeks in and ate the cost. Needless to say, she is not recommended.
