My husband I came here during Happy Hour and some really good drinks. I ordered the guava margarita and a 10 inch pepperoni pizza which both were not only delicious but tasty as well. Best service ever. By our ginger server Ally. She was the first server we have ever had who explained to us that there was more than one sauce on their wonderful pizza. I got a half and half pizza. I tried the pesto chicken and the truffle mushroom. There was zero truffle flavor on the pizza at all. The service was mid. We had to ask for refills and they were so slow. The music was also SO LOUD it was hard to hear the person sitting next to me. The pizza I wanted they were out of. We had 5 adults and on baby went for lunch on 1/19/25. The service was very slow it took two hours and it took over 45 minutes to get our food. It was extremely noisy and could not hear the waitress. We had to ask for water refills multiple times. Ordered the baked chicken which had no flavor whatsoever. Ordered chicken fingers for baby and they were so overcooked the baby would not even eat them! Last, we ordered brownie with ice cream and the ice cream was frozen and freezer burnt. We sent it back and asked for the manager. When she finally came (15 minutes later) to our table after multiple requests she (did not provide her name) just said sorry took off the food and gave us a 10% off for next time. There will be NO next time for this restaurant. Service and food quality has diminished in recent years, so sad. read more

My meet up group just started coming to Matchbox the beginning of this year. We didn't have any problems the first time we went, but, today, we had a major issue. There were 8 of us, (often time we have more members come) we had a reservation. We came in a few mins early and were told we had to wait till our reservation time. SO we went outside and chatted. Then we were finally seated around 1:15 or so. They put the brunch menu on our table. When we asked for the reg menu we were told we couldn't order off the regular menu that the brunch was the only thing served on the weekend. This was not our experience the last time we were there. We were NOT paying $42 per person. We ended up getting up and walking out and finding another place to dine. I had checked the menu before I went and no where did it mention that you could only order off the brunch menu. PLUS they had music blasting SO loud you couldn't hear each other talk. You might want to turn the volume down. Needless to say we will NOT be returning to Matchbox, but instead go to the other restaurant. We got a table right away and had all-day breakfast options and other items off the menu. read more

Our latest experience has reinforced that while the food at matchbox is decent (when made correctly), the abysmal service makes the experience frustrating and ultimately not worth your time and money. We were a party of five for lunch. They seated us at a high top and we expressed concern as to whether a high chair would work for the height. The hostess told us they had an appropriate height chair and walked away, presumably to get us said chair. Five minutes later, we realized she had just walked away. Our server finally arrived and got us the high chair (which was actually too high for the bar top and did not seem safe for a normal, active toddler). We ordered three cheese pizzas for our kids and a truffle pizza without the mushrooms on top (we acknowledged this was strange but made clear that we we were fine with the truffle oil, we just didn't want the mushrooms on top). After waiting a long while (with no check in from our server), our food arrived. The kids' pizzas all had pepperoni on them and our truffle pizza came with the mushroom on top. We sent the food back and when they came back, there were remnants of pepperoni on all the kids' pizzas. They had simply picked off the pepperoni and tried to pass it off like they had remade them. Families with allergies or who keep kosher, beware. Once we expressed our deep frustration and concern, they then went back to make new pizzas for our kids, which eventually came out. Of course by then, our kids no longer had interest in eating. Our truffle pizza came out without mushrooms but without the truffle oil so we had to note that again. After all that and the additional time and stress all this back and forth caused, the restaurant failed to comp any part of our bill. Zero acknowledgment of their misconduct and negligence. We will not be returning again and warn others, particularly families, that this establishment does not value your time, money, or well being. read more

Our overall experience was alright. Not good enough where I'm dying to bring a friend, but not bad enough where if someone wanted to meet up there I'd decline. Husband and I went here for HH but to try the pizzas. The pizza was good but the pesto chicken was a tad salty. Not bad bar food but again nothing to bring me back. My friends and I went during a slower time (around 12-1), so there weren't many people in the restaurant. We were seated instantly and given time to look at the menus. And we were given A LOT of time. Although the staff was very nice and friendly, they didn't really come to our table often and service was slow--for both waiting and food--the whole duration of our time there. The food itself was good. I got the salad which was huge and all of my friends got a burger or sandwich; we also got the pizza to share. I would say all of their entrees are pretty good, but their pizzas aren't worth it. Not only was it expensive but it was also not that big nor tasted THAT good. From what I've seen and heard, this place seems to be better during happy hour, but at other times, it's just alright. read more

This review is purely for the atrocious customer service that we received just now for a take out order. The lady who is up at the front really needs to fix her attitude when interacting with customers. We try extra hard to be polite with everyone so that our child can model our behavior when he grows up. So we know that her rude attitude was not because of something that we did or said. Upon arrival, I had to seat myself. This was due to the host stand being empty. I'm assuming this was because I arrived closer to their end of their workday. After seating myself, the waiter came up and offered a lot of recommendations as their menu had so many options. They definitely have a very diverse menu. They also appear to offer brunch all day, which is pretty cool! I ended up getting the pizza which was very good. I had the fire+spice for half my pizza with chicken pesto being the other half. Both were super good, but the chicken pesto was my fave. Our waitress wasn't very present/available, however, the food and the person I was with made it a very pleasant first experience. read more

I've come here several times because I love the food and enjoy sitting on the outside patio when the weather is nice because it overlooks the lawn and fountains but the service knocks down the stars. Not sure if they're just understaffed or what but it always takes forever to get our food. I literally waited 45 minutes for guacamole, specifically the crab and avocado tower. Luckily I enjoy sitting outside in the heat so I didn't mind sipping on coke while people watching lol but this is not the place for a quick lunch or dinner. I will say I love their spicy tuna tartare tacos and their fig & prosciutto pizza, my usual order for dinner. Second networking meeting from this group I belong to and lo and behold it ended up being this Matchbox location where the previous Matchbox one was Arlington 2 days ago. This time I got a chance order the half chicken instead of just tasting a colleague's wing. Listen. Here. Please. I rarely if ever order fried chicken in sit down restaurants (like why???) but I had to have my own portion of this bird to verify my initial impression. As delicious as the taste that I sampled in Arlington. Server said that it's baked and then finished in the deep fryer which is where that crazy crisp comes from. The quality control/taste uniformity is identical at both locations. It's SUPER DEE DUPER juicy. Ms Dorothea must be in the back throwing down with the seasoning here too. I got red garlic potatoes instead of couscous in mine. Also delicious and well seasoned. It's a $26 entree which is crazy for chicken but it's worth it. This location is weird to find but if you're familiar with Mosaic you know it's visible from the Target parking lot - despite what your GPS may tell you. Service is still a little slow for my taste but they do a good job with the food. read more

We went here on a Thursday for dinner. We usually try to get to restaurants early because wit three kids, we like to avoid the chaos and noise. Got there around 5:15 p.m. and it was pretty empty. The hostess sat us at a pretty cool table where we had a lot of space for our kids to move around and make noise without bothering anyone. It was perfect. We left around 6:30 and it was starting to fill up. We ordered the ginormous meatball, pesto chicken pizza, and sausage pasta. The meatball was very good, tender and the marinara sauce was delicious. Love the bread that comes with it too. The pesto pizza was also very good, just the right amount of pesto. The sausage pasta was just okay. The noodles were a little too al dente and the sauce just pop. Kids got the chicken tenders and cheese pizza. They ate almost all of it, which means it was good because I have picky eaters. This was a great spot for my family, food was good, service was good. read more

We went to Matchbox for brunch and ordered a few plates to start, including the chicken Alfredo, which unfortunately arrived with a brown hair woven into the pasta. We immediately brought it to our server's attention, and she took the plate away without much apology or concern. A few minutes later, the manager came to our table -- not to address the issue with the hair, but instead to ask us to move our child's stroller, even though it wasn't blocking any walkway or disturbing other tables. We informed her we were wrapping up and would be leaving soon. When we were closing out, the server casually mentioned they were "looking for the person the hair belonged to," which was both disgusting and unprofessional. At no point did a manager apologize or attempt to make the situation right. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing -- poor service, lack of basic hygiene, and complete disregard for customer care. We won't be returning. read more

Most of the food was solid. The stuffed French toast was rock hard. The biscuits were dry and we found a long piece of hair in our food and nothing was done about it. No major complaints stuck out to me when I revived there cob salad and famous pan skillet bread. The bread was perfectly cooked and was flavorful, however, there was so much garlic in this bread and it did not specify anything of the sorts on the menu. The bread was served with a garlic butter (again with the garlic) and a externally well done mozzarella sauce to combat the garlic flavor making the bread turn out well. The cob salad was done perfectly and had met my expectations. Obviously not the very best cob salad I have had but it was completely delicious and bareable on a cold Saturday night. Got everything right and didn't have to send anything back or get any corrections. She brought us ketchup & iced tea and waters. Everything was clean.
