Service was terrible! They messed up everyone's meal at my table AND we had to wait so long to get our food. Others at matchbox were also demanding for the manager. Also the fries were stale. read more

Its ok. Food is good not great, service was friendly and attentive. Chicken sandwich was good. Pizza was a bit longing.

Great food great service, Buffalo chicken wings are some of the best I've ever had. The second flore is beautiful, with 2 glass box booths extended from the rest of the floor over looking the restaurant, wich looks beutiful. read more

I got the bbq pizza with grilled chicken on a cauliflower crust. It was so delicious and flavorful! The customer service was great too!

I'm a bit torn on this review. The three stars is mostly because of the service, not the food. We got the cast iron bread, sliders (pictured), bacon Bianca pizza, and Nashville chicken sandwich. The apps (sliders and bread) were the best, with the sandwich as a close second. The cast iron bread was so delicious, highly recommend! The service fell a bit flat. We tried to make a reservation but they said they did not have any reservations left, however when we arrived for a walk in, there were only two other parties of four in the entire restaurant with all other tables empty at 730pm. We had a group of 7 and were sat at a booth made for 5 adults, max, despite asking for a larger space for our group. Our waitress was attentive except for when we were waiting for the check, but was not terribly friendly. TLDR; good food, but average service. read more

Stopped here for dinner while we were in town and enjoyed their calamari with fried fresh jalapeños, which was delicious. Service was great by Robert and Robert in the bar area. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her pizza and my husband enjoyed his steak. Staff was very courteous and attentive. A special shout out to Robert and Robert in the bar area. read more

huge shout-out to Sylvia and her team at Matchbox One Loudoun. I placed a huge order for my office here & they were so quick. Sylvia even came out to greet me, had her team assist me with bringing the items out to my car to even making sure all of our entrees were labeled with names! I am so grateful for the staff here for making it to easy to pickup and order here! I ordered a Cilantro Lime Chicken Salad and it is freaking delicious! if you're a huge cilantro lover like I am, this is the salad for you. the chicken is well seasoned and I appreciate the fact that they didn't put onions in the salad. I'll definitely be back! read more

My boyfriend and I came here Saturday evening and sat on the rooftop seating and absolutely loved it. It was a bit windy so I did feel like our dip got cold rather fast but it was still good along with the bread. We ordered the hot honey pepperoni pizza and I ordered the Patio Pounder Lemonade I think it was and my boyfriend got an IPA. We enjoyed everything and only walked a short distance back to the garage as it is always busy on the weekends at One Loudon. Our server was kind and I will definitely come back! read more

Came in at 6 PM on a Saturday evening expecting a wait but they were able to seat our two top immediately. The fried mac & cheese appetizer was really good. I was skeptical of the marinara sauce with the mac & cheese, but it went together perfectly especially because it's more of a creamy marinara like a vodka sauce. The pizza I got had good flavor, but the crust was a little soupy, kind of like neopalitan style. My friend's rigatoni pasta was delicious. Edwin was our server and he was fantastic. Love that they have non-alcoholic Mocktails and the homemade strawberry lemonade was delicious. read more

Been several years since we've been to this location. So it is time for an update. Need to call out that they do fish well. Not for the pizzas, but for mains and salads. Salmon and tuna are spot on. Not overcooked, but very flavorful. Pizza is the star here. They are among the best of the chains in the DMV area. Check out the pesto chicken and the spicy meatball. Both drop flavor bombs! Nice crust too. Drinks menu isn't large, but has plenty of good choices for wine, beer and cocktails. The One Loudoun location is large and often busy on weekends. The staff work hard, but as with many restaurants these days they don't have enough people. Thus, service can be a bit slow. Be aware. Logistics: parking garage in the back. Reservations via Open Table. Online ordering for pickup at https://order.matchboxrestaurants.com/menu/matchbox-one-loudoun/#pizzas read more

Decent place, didn't love it but wasn't a negative experience either. We came here after visiting the Udvar-Hazy museum on an early weekday afternoon, well after any lunchtime crowds would have dispersed. This is a pretty standard American restaurant, with a choices ranging from dinner salads, sandwiches, entrees such as fish and chips and ribs, and brick oven pizzas. Our meal got off to an inauspicious start when our waitress (a lovely person, really) spilled water on my friend. No big deal and frankly my friend probably could have used a bath anyway. After that bit of excitement we got down to the business of making our selections. Grilled chicken avocado sandwich - actually, we wanted a grilled chicken sandwich without avocado, but such an item doesn't exist so we just ordered it without. Pretty decent size breast, flavors were good. No complaints here. Crab cake sandwich - I found the flavor to be a little lacking, and for the price ($26) it seemed a little small. Got this with a side of Old Bay fries which were crispy and tasty. Bistro burger - typical fat burger that you expect in places like this. Asked for it cooked medium but it was closer to well-done. Still retained some moisture, thankfully. Half bacon bianca / half matchbox meat pizza - this was a pretty sizeable pizza with a nice crust. The meat was kind of unevenly distributed, and on the bianca side the arugula was curiously piled up on a small section instead of being evenly distributed. The pizza, in generally, was kind of salty. Prices were a little higher than I would prefer to pay for food of this type and caliber, but I guess it's hard to know what's a fair price with the cost of good and labor increasing across the board. Service was friendly but really slow, especially given that there were few other diners in the restaurant at that particular hour. Overall not a bad experience, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. read more

Matchbox is fairly good overall. I've been to the McLean location as well and it's crazy how different they both look from each other. We just did a to-go order today and got a large pepperoni pizza as well as a chicken Cobb salad. The food was good. I wouldn't say great because the pizza felt a little lacking but it won't ever compare to New York pizza lol. They use thin crust for their pizza and pretty good pepperonis. The crispy chicken Cobb salad is actually pretty flavorful. I'd easily order again although I don't think it earns its $21 price tag. Food was ready in about 15-20 mins so it was ready by the time we drove there. I'd recommend trying it if you have a craving for pizza. read more

It's been a while since I've been to this specific location. I feel like since they first opened their service and quality has gradually decreased. Today I did a to go order because they offer a free large pizza on your birthday. I also ordered their Chicken Cobb salad. Both were really delicious and packaged well. I don't have any complaints about my to go order. The pizza and salad were ready in about 15mins read more

I came here for a group happy hour and enjoyed drinks and food specials outside on the patio. It was a nice setting with plenty of seating and musical entertainment. I ordered this watermelon margarita-type drink with pieces of fresh watermelon in it. It was delicious, nice, and sweet, perfect for my taste buds!! I also ordered a cheeseburger. I think it was called a Smashburger on the menu. It was good. It was cooked to order, and they left off all sauces as I requested. My food was delivered quickly, and I ate and then walked around the bar area, meeting people and enjoying the beautiful weather. This was my first time at this Matchbox location, but I'll return for a meal soon. I highly recommend checking it out. read more

First time visit. I have never written a negative review on a restaurant and we eat out for brunch almost everyday. I realize this visit may not be indicative of everyday operations. Ordered brunch 3 scrambled egg breakfast. Definitely not more than one egg on plate. No bread bread is served with the breakfast. Wife had waffles and had to ask for syrup and got about a tablespoon. Ordered biscuits and jam as appetizer and food was delivered before the appetizer. Had to ask for the appetizer. Diet Coke had no fizz and very weak taste. I know I should have complained on the spot but I normally don't complain. read more

Had difficulty getting a table at 5 PM. Yes it was a weekend but didnt think this place will require a reservation. They have a lot of sitting space and about 50% of them were empty at the time. Still we had to wait more than 50 mins to get a table! The pizza here is great. Got a 50-50 pizza with Matchbox Meat and Fig Prosciutto. Also ordered the fish and chips. It was okay. The breading was too much for my liking and the chips were just okay. read more

Matchbox has become your run of the mill chain restaurant, so I probably shouldn't have expected too much. Still, I just hope the mini burger to be a bit more flavorful. Fried onions also flavorless. While I appreciate the flavor and chewy nature of the bacon Bianca pizza, I gotta say, the pizza is a bit too chewy to my taste, we are not paying for jaw exercise here. Good services. Wish matchbox the best and to improve the food. Would be sad to see matchbox dies, such an icon of the area. read more

My husband and I were in the area so we decided to stop in for a quick bite to eat. It wasn't too busy at the time we arrived. We were seated immediately. Our server was pleasant, took orders and within 15 minutes we had our drinks, appetizers and entrees. We started off with Dynamite Shrimp as our appetizer. The shrimp were ok. The sauce was sweet and spicy. My husband ordered the Fire and Smoke pizza (he added bacon and pepperoni). I had the Mambo Chicken Sandwich with fries. The pizza was light, crispy and full of flavor. If you light spicy, this is the pizza for you. My sandwich was tender and very flavorful. The sauce had a perfect sweet and spicy kick. Everything was so delicious and filling we did not have room for dessert. Overall, very good food and great service. read more

We decided to try out Matchbox for the first time this past weekend. It wasn't busy at all, they had us seated upstairs. They don't have a restroom upstairs so you have to walk downstairs to utilize the facilities if needed. Our waiter immediately informed us that he was new.. It was a rough start. The Sprite was awful, they had to take care of the machine (I guess the Sprite flavor was completely out). Getting our order in took a little longer than I would've preferred. Food was brought to us pretty quickly after it was ordered, everything was cooked and prepared wonderfully. We all enjoyed all the dishes! Fries and onion straws were amazing! Waffles were bomb! Mini burgers were fantastic The chicken/avocado was average I'd say. The kale on the sandwich was extremely bitter and made the sandwich taste awful, so I removed the kale and the rest was good :) Overall, we'd recommend Matchbox! Considering it was one of our waiters firsts shifts, he did a terrific job and fixed the sprite issue quickly. Of course, that wasn't a big deal, it can happen. The food was extremely pricey though, $90 for 3 people to eat the food pictured. Also! Make sure you compare your bill to the menu prices, they were over charging the chicken and waffles by $5. They fixed this once we pointed it out. read more

Matchbox is always a good choice! This was our first time visiting this location. We usually go to the one in Merrifield. Placing an order online was simple and straightforward. I appreciate that they have a specific parking area and entrance for takeout orders. The restaurant is neat, clean, and organized. Employees are friendly and did a great job with our takeout order. It was all ready and neatly wrapped when we arrived. We enjoyed our meal. It was well seasoned, nothing was overly salty. Quality ingredients are used and our taste buds are happy. read more

15 minutes should not pass from the time you ask if I'm done, take the plates 10 minutes later and then drop off the check five minutes after that and leave again. Three minutes and still counting to pay. Nice to see the folks seated after me get their check and leave while I'm still waiting...so disrespectful. I'm by myself. It was three of them. Five minutes.... Even put my coat on...no urgency read more

Food: 4 Service this night: -1 Ambiance this night: -1 Let me start by saying Matchbox is on our rotation fairly frequently. The food is always good, with somethings on the menu being ridiculously good. That being said, our most recent visit was not what we come to expect in terms of service. We came in fairly later in the evening, but still open and accepting customers. Behind the bar were two bartenders. They couldn't be any more polar opposite from each other. One was not only rocking her side of the bar, but also clearing out almost all of the tables next to the bar. The other offered the worst service I have ever experienced in any restaurant or bar in over 30 years. *Dishes from last customer being left on the bar next to us the entire time we were there, check. *Giving us no untensil, check *Frequently having to ask for additional refills, check *Not helping out his peer staff, check Oh and the final kicker *Over-serving a customer to the point I saw the customer physically assault three girls at the end of the bar by trying to kiss them without their permission, check. It is not that I am saying I will never come back in, but it won't be for a while. If I ever see that bartender again behind the bar, I'll immediately leave. There is a thin line between a bad employee and a liability. Do Better! read more

Sad experience. Not only did we get seated in a box on the second floor, but most of the food was either cold or over, like there was bad coordination of service. Plus, the service was bad, we got beverages after the food, like just in time for dessert. Other locations might be better, this one was rea.l6 double plus ungood. read more
