I don't even know where to start with this place, in a few short months this has become not only one of my favorite restaurants but also one of my favorite local hang out spots. I guess we will start with their delicious hand crafted cocktails. Personally I never thought I'd be a Moscow mule kind of person, but the matchbox Mule has kind of changed my life. It's really a must try! I'd also highly recommend their watermelon cocktail on the happy hour menu, it is so refreshing and actually packs a pretty nice punch for a fruity drink. The artichoke dip is amazing! I love that they serve it in a little cast iron pan, and the top of the dip is perfectly golden brown and crispy. Try the roasted garlic that comes on the side, it is a match made in heaven! Of course everyone raves about matchboxes pizzas, and it's for good reason! I personally love their margarita pizza, its fresh and flavorful. They use great tomato sauce and olive oil that compliments the mozzarella and basil perfectly. The matchbox meat is perfect for anyone who loves meat lovers pizza. I like their style of pizza, it on the thinner side, not too crunch like a cracker but not overly doughy. This restaurant offers a great atmosphere and menu, located in the up and coming one Loudoun it's a great place to spend a night out! read more

We were planning on eating at another restaurant nearby but we weren't thrilled with their 45-minute wait time so we decided to head over to Matchbox instead. I'm so glad we did because the wait was only 5 minutes. They were also doing a lot of social distancing and practicing safe methods like having hand sanitizers present and everyone wore a mask. We were starving so we asked the server to have the spinach and artichoke dip as soon as they can and it was nice and hot. The chips were fresh. Nothing too exciting but our main entreês were amazing! We all ordered the same thing which was the special- crab cakes on a bed of greens and farro. To be honest, I wasn't too excited about the farro since I've never had it before and every time someone tells me it's a healthy substitute, I'm always skeptical about the taste but this meal did not disappoint. The farro was delicious and the carb cakes were to die for. The meal wasn't cheap but it was definitely worth it. They gave you plenty of crab! I'm so glad we came here. Will definitely be back soon!! read more

While visiting DC, I had wanted to try Matchbox for lunch one day in between museum hopping, but the timeline was too tight to enjoy a relaxing, sit-down lunch. I was excited to find out that with locations all around the DC/MD/VA area, I was going to have the opportunity to stop by on the drive home in Loudoun! Arriving around 2PM on a Sunday, we were immediately seated in a booth off the entrance. They have a very extensive menu, with burgers, salads, and pastas in addition to pizza. We ordered the Pepperoni and Prosciutto + White Turkish Fig pizzas. While the Pepperoni was a standard pep, I really enjoyed the Prosciutto and White Turkish Fig pizza. There was a great balance of ingredients (cheese, figs, greens, meat, etc.) and I loved how the sweet figs meshed with the savory prosciutto and cheese. I will definitely have dreams of recreating this pizza in Ohio or getting the chance to enjoy it again on the East Coast! Each pizza was $15 and served one, so overall it was more expensive than what I am use to paying for a gourmet pizza per person, but it was worth it for vacation! read more

We were very disappointed in our Matchbox experience. Problems started at the front desk. The maitre d indicated we were supposed to follow a specific person to our table. A woman walked up to the counter, picked up something, and then walked off. We had no idea if she was the person we were supposed to follow. She didn't even glance our way, or introduce herself. After she realized we hadn't followed her, as we checked to verify she was the person we were supposed to go with, she came back to get us. Ordering was relatively fast, and we received our appetizer quickly, but our entree orders took so long that we saw three other groups, who'd come in some minutes after us, receive their entree orders before us. The meal was ok, except for too much oil on the salad. However, it was not really worth the extra time it took us to get our food. In total, the long wait added about 45 minutes to our meal. We will not be returning to this location. read more

This place is in a town center. I'm not all that into town centers and the chain restaurants that are in all of them now all over the country. But that being said, obviously some are better than others. I'm commenting on this one location. The management is doing a great job. I actually came here a year or two ago, didn't really have a good experience, and my plan was to not come back. Recently they hired a friend, so of course I've come in since to see her. Her name is Cynthia, she's a bartender, a great bartender by the way. The food is very good, the service, at the bar especially, is excellent. Cynthia had a full bar today, 15 or so barstools, and many bar tables to handle. She's a part of a team, but she stands out if you ask me. Very attentive, very aware of everyone and their orders, and always very sweet. Go to Matchbox, the food is good, the service is very good at the bar at least, see Cynthia, she'll treat you like you're her only customer. Here's a picture of my wonderful prosciutto and fig pizza with arugula, outstanding.! read more

Cynthia at the bar treated us wonderfully this past Sunday morning. The bar area is nice and bright with TVs for my husband to watch the football games on. Pizzas were delish (per usual) but the service was a tad slow from the kitchen. Excited to go back in the spring and summer and enjoy the outdoor space! read more

We arrived during the down shift (which is between 2pm - 4pm) for most restaurants. This is when the majority of the wait staff go home for their split shift. It's a normal practice to leave a skeleton crew during this time: Server: Brian 3 Stars because he was slow but demeanor, attitude and follow-up was great! (I give him a pass) Food: Onion Straws 4 Stars Burger 5 Stars (I love the flavor of the beef, ground mustard and it came our perfect (medium) Pepperoni Pizza 3.5 Star (Way to many pepperoni's so it was overkill, crust and sauce are Great!) 2nd Pepperoni for the Kids with non-spicy kid's sauce (it was too spice for my son - must be spicy pepperoni's) The manager took back the pizza and gave our kids the Captain Healthy Fruit and Cheese plate - Awesome and very Customer Service Oriented read more

Visited Matchbox on a late Sunday afternoon. Went over to the hostess stand to request a table outside on the front patio, which didn't seem abnormal to me considering it was a nice summer day, but the hostess mentioned that there weren't servers to accommodate patio seating. That was interesting.. Once seated we decided on the Margherita pizza and sliders to split between hubby and I. The sliders are amazing. The menu doesn't specify which cheeses are available to add to the sliders, but our server told us that Gouda, mozzarella, and cheddar were available. I was glad that he told us because who doesn't love cheese? The 4 stars is mainly for the sliders because for a restaurant known for their pizza, I wasn't entirely impressed with the pizza itself. It was pretty average. I would come back, however, to try more appetizers and to enjoy the ambiance in general. read more

Delish!!!! We've only been here a handful of times but each time gets better. From the pizza to the burgers to the salads...I enjoy everything! I could get the onion strings that comes with the mini burgers just by itself! Haven't been to the bar area so I can't talk about the crowdedness but I assume its one of the busier places especially for HH. Definitely one of my favorite places to stop by at One Loudoun. read more

Tried going here for dinner last night. Went about 5:30, restaurant was not packed and nobody waiting. They told me they were not taking walk-ins just reservations. Lots of tables available. I said that was the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Went next door to City Tap. Nice place, good food and service. read more

The uniforms are very ugly. Y'all are setting up your employees. It looks like i'm walking into a mcdonald's. Do better but food is amazing.

Ate at the One Loudoun Matchbox on Saturday in the bar area. Ordered a pizza, poke bowl, margarita and Diet Coke. When the bill came my husband notice he was charged for EVERY refill of soda. Never was it mentioned that they now charge for refills...when he asked the server he only said "Yeah, they changed that 3 weeks ago". $12 for soda that's mostly ice. No thanks read more

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants! The food is always excellent (of course my favorite being any of the pizzas) and so is the staff/atmosphere. During Covid I make it a point to get pickup dinner orders regularly. Special occasions are also great here. I even got married in the fireplace room :) Great memories! read more

5people on Mother's Day with reservation for 5:30pm (made 3weeks in advance). Not only did they run out of every dish we originally ordered, the salads were below ok. Even the desert shakes we ordered we needed to change due to no availability. One came with a spoon, the other two without. Server brought one more spoon upon asking and that one was a bar spoon. Come on! You know you are getting busy when you have all tables reserved. Why two stars? I felt sorry for the servers who had to deliver the bad news. They tried to safe the situation with humor and a smile. read more

Service was good. food was a total letdow. The spinach and artichoke dip, tasty but nothing to die for. the biggest letdown was the pizza. Felt like it was a frozen pizza, warmed and served. Too much salt. Over all, will not go back again. For that much $$, the food did not stand its ground. Kids pizza was too dry too. read more

Went to an early dinner with my family last Saturday. The food was reasonable good but the service was poor. The waiter took our orders and brought our drinks, then didn't come back till he cleared our plates. He didn't come back once. To make it worse, I had to ask for the check twice. We weren't the only ones he was ignoring, the other tables around us had similar problems. And it wasn't like the restaurant was full, I would estimate 50% capacity. read more

The food tonight was on point. The Chicken sandwich. My server Juan Carlos was Ahhhhmazing. The reason I'm giving them 4 stars is because of the rewards program I was under the impression that I had signed up at my first visit but apparently I wasnt. Great food, ready on time, and lots of choices! We had one issue (and we order takeout a lot) and when upper management found out, they not only corrected the order, but also gave us an opportunity to order again, free of charge. What a disappointing let down - all your websites stated that you would be open for New Years Brunch and when we arrived at 1030 there was a line outside all of the locked doors. No answer when we tried to call - nothing??!! Probably not a good way to start off the new year. read more

The service was TERRRRIBLE! The only reason I gave it two stars is because my margarita pizza was good! I sat at the bar and it took about 5 minutes for someone to ask me if I wanted a drink. There was ATLEAST 4 bartenders working. After that the one bartender that was " helping" me, ask if I wanted food all while he was TEXTING on his phone. When the food arrived he just placed it and walked away all while texting again. He never came back to ask me if I'd like more to drink or how my food was. I had to grab his attention to run my card ( it was sitting on the bar). And while he was swiping my card, he was full blown texting again! Totally ruined my experience! read more

This was my first time at Matchbox, and I have to say, I'm impressed. A couple of nights ago in July, my family went to Matchbox for dessert, and they really delivered. It was delicious. The staff was also really patient and polite. They treated us like we were old friends. The manager himself greeted the customers and was very nice. When you look at Matchbox, despite the pricey food, you can understand the staff isn't working for money, but rather they are spreading joy with their food, one pizza at a time. My expectations of you are high right now Matchbox! I look forward to seeing this restaurant grow, and can't wait to eat here again. read more

Great food. Who knew they had tomahawk steaks? Clean, fast and friendly service as well.

Matchbox is a beautiful looking restaurant that i went in thinking the pizza would be amazing. You can watch the chefs make the pizza right in front of you. They have a nice wood fired oven right in the center of the restaurant. Now for the pizza... I was not very impressed. The crust was ehh, the cheese was ehh, and the sauce was ehh. The toppings are very fresh and you can tell they are high quality. Overall with the pizza I was definitely a little bit let down. I got the margherita pizza. Appetizers and salads were all pretty good, I definitely had no complaints. The bartender/barback was very attentive and made an extremely strong pour. That was my favorite part of Matchbox! One Loudon is a very nice shopping center, however I most likely wouldn't dine at Matchbox again. read more

We decided super last minute to hold a company Christmas Dinner for our employees. I only had less than 2 weeks to find a restaurant that was reasonably priced and had a private to a semi-private dinning room. We wanted the dinner to be on Saturday Dec. 14th. This was probably the most challenging dinner I've had to host. Not only are Saturdays typically a busy day for restaurants but this was also a Saturday that was two weeks before Christmas. Almost all restaurants around our area were booked and the ones that had availability weren't too flexible with the timing. I finally came across MatchBox in One Loudoun. I spoke with Kerry the Director of Private Events for this location and I believe a few of their other locations and she was AMAZING!!! She told me that she could make the upstairs work for our group and the food and beverage minimum was very reasonable. We went ahead and moved forward with booking MatchBox for our company Christmas Dinner. The night of the dinner Kerry was there for almost the whole night and made sure that everything was running smoothly. Also, we received outstanding customer service from Regina and Jenny! They were our servers for the night and not once did I have my guests without a drink or anything else they needed throughout the night. Super nice, super attentive, and very well spoken. These two ladies made us feel right at home. I also was very amazed with how the rest of the staff worked together. I had Ben who showed me the space two days before our dinner and also Scott who assisted me over the phone with a few questions. The drinks were great here and the food even better. We had the Salmon and steak and chicken. The appetizer were also very tasteful! The atmosphere was super cozy and very Christmassy. I would highly recommend this location for anyone who wants to hold a private event. My employees were very happy and very full by the end of the night. Great job to Kerry and the team at MatchBox!! read more

Love this place the food and drinks are unbelievably delicious and service was great. Thank you very muck.

I come to this place often with the hope service would get better. Everytime I have gone flies and nats fly around and I feel like Im at an outside bar b q. WOB has open seating concept and does not have the same issues. I found a fly in my food after waiting for over 35 minutes for service. Then an additional 30 minutes to get our check after speaking with the manager Extreemly disappointed! read more

My husband and I stopped in for brunch on a Sunday after a long week. I was excited to see a Monte Cristo on their brunch menu - an item I sparingly see in NOVA. We arrived and had little to no wait to be seated, and our server was prompt and friendly despite his many tables. The brunch menu seemed like a good deal, with an appetizer and entree (from a pre-selected list) for under $40 pp. We had the ahi tuna tacos and the spinach and artichoke dip, both of which were good. The ahi tuna tacos were honestly the best thing we had during our meal. I, of course, had to order the Monte Cristo, but noticed it was a bit off from the traditional preparation. This Monte Cristo had scrambled eggs IN the sandwich - I thought this was weird, but the server said it was good so I went with it. My husband ordered a brunch skillet (not sure what the actual name was). The food arrived quickly and prepared correctly, but was super underwhelming. The skilled my husband ordered was missing the potatoes - the server did bring him some once he pointed this out, and those were fantastic both alone and mixed in. The Monte Cristo was pretty awful. The bread was soggy and the eggs were watery. The sandwich sickenly sweet, and I hadn't even put any syrup on it. The side salad it came with was very good, and I enjoyed the dressing it came with. Unfortunately, Matchbox did not meet our expectations, and I left still hungry with a craving that hadn't been met. I'd try Matchbox again, but perhaps this time sticking to pizza. read more

Sat in the bar, had good service. Meuse had nice choices and the bartender/server was cordial and very nice. Food was really good; got the sliders that came with a mound of onion straws...excellent touch. Wife had fried chicken sandwich with the sauce ONTHE SIDE. It was too hot for her but I tried it and it was a good heat. Cream of crab soup was very tasty...asked for pepper but didn't get it...my loss..no big deal. Atmosphere was very relaxing and it appears there is outside seating which would have been great this afternoon but we weren't asked; next time. Really solid place, worth the visit and will definitely be added into the rotation.. That's WhatNickThinks read more

A good pizza place in the One Loudoun center. The vibe is pleasant. Service was good!

First time there, will not be back. Waiter not attentive. Came there at 10pm. Requested quiet table. Waiter provided our food and then disappeared around corner to chat at bar with people. We had to track him down twice. One for drink refill and to-go box and then to pay our checks. Spent additional unnecessary 30min waiting and tracking waiter down. Very unprofessional. Will NOT be back! read more

I've been to Matchbox several times now. All my experiences stem from sitting in the bar area. When visiting on a Monday afternoon service is great and food comes out quickly. However, visiting during happy hour on a busier evening and our experience was quite the opposite; bar top sometimes still sticky from the last patron, much slower service and delays getting food. I can understand much of this because the servers and bartenders are simply slammed. I was really only disappointed on one visit while sitting at the inside bar. The bartenders looked at us several times as they were serving others, but never even acknowledged our presence for a good 10-15 minutes until we were finally asked if we would like a drink. That visit, the whole evening in fact, I felt as if we were an annoyance to the staff. Some of the food is quite good. The Matchbox meat pizza is delicious with spicy Italian sausage, pepperoni, crispy bacon topped with mozzarella. There is so much flavor in this pie. The meats complemented the sauce nicely and the spicy Italian sausage added just a touch of heat. The crust was perfectly charred and there was a perfect amount of cheese. The White Wine Mussels are also delicious. I understand it's an appetizer, but for $15 I was disappointed. The portion was very small, too small. The pepperoni pizza was so greasy, my husband tried to sop up the grease with his napkin. He loves pizza, but would never order this again. I will say the atmosphere is quite nice. The restaurant is clean and inviting, There are lovely outdoor areas and the inside bar opens to outside as well with the two huge garage door style glass windows. I quite enjoy sitting at the bar especially when the weather is nice and they have live music (usually on Wednesday evenings I believe). On one visit, not too late in the evening, I witnessed a fight almost begin simply because one patron asked a couple that were finishing up drinks if they were leaving soon. Strange occurrence since we are out in suburbia. Staff did nothing, manager was not called and the angry couple finally left. It was uncomfortable to the patrons around them trying to enjoy a meal/drink. While I was initially impressed, I am somewhat turned off by the high price as compared to value. I will more than likely visit again as it an enjoyable place to come for happy hour, but I won't be visiting as often as I did at first. Still nice to have another option not too far from home. read more

Used to come here a lot. when it first opened, everything was spectacular but the last few visits, we noticed the portions have gotten smaller and the quality has deteriorated. Sandwich bun was very soggy, the fries were terrible and the hostesses never seem happy when you arrive. Used to love having the managers greet and thank you but you never see one around anymore. Always love the chicken pesto pizza! Service is quick and efficient too! Love the atmosphere!

Food is always good, but the servers are slow. And I'm not talking about their pace (also slow), more I'm talking about dealing with kids acting like deer caught in the headlights. You need to badger the hell out of them to do things like: bring a side of mayo, refill water, get another drink, etc. don't even consider customizing your food, their heads will most likely explode, and it may take 10 min for the next person to come clean it. read more

The food is so delicious! The food has a little something extra that makes it so flavorful. A++! We sat at the pizza bar and watched the chefs make us fresh brick oven pizza.
