Jose' was the artisan who did the work and he did an outstanding job. He has been with Masterpiece Tile & Grout for over 16 years, and his skill is shown in his finished work. Jose' is very personable and careful to ensure that our home was kept very clean while working. Our walk-in shower had a four-inch step down in the prior shower. As we have aged, we worry about tripping, so Jose' raised the floor of the shower level so there is no step down, but it is flush with the bathroom floor. The shower floor drains perfectly so no water gets onto the walk-in tile. Larry did my kids tub/shower about 6 months ago and they did such a good job that we used his company again for our master bathroom. We had a fiberglass shower insert that was put in by the original builder and had started cracking in the floor so it was time to fix. I contracted with Masterpiece Tile and Grout to come out and take a look at a poorly installed bathtub. The house flipper that remodeled my place before I bought it used poor workmanship and cut corners. Wood studs in my house had begun to rot from their lack of waterproofing beneath the tile. Larry (the project manager) not only instructed me on how to temporarily waterproof my bathroom until the situation could be remedied, but also quoted me the level of work that I could afford. Multiple other contractors claimed I would have to demo and remodel the entire bathroom for almost triple what I paid with masterpiece tile and grout. Larry's number was middle of the road in price but I trusted his expertise more than any of the other contractors that quoted this work. We pivoted halfway through the project and Masterpiece was very accommodating. The end product looked better than the original and not only was the wood rot issue remedied, the value of my home has now increased. We needed ledger stone installed on our fireplace after we had the masons repair it. Larry was not the lowest bid nor the highest. But he was clearly the most concerned with doing a quality job. He examined the fireplace and pointed out to us how the masons had left it really out of plumb and not flat (so the ledger stone wouldn't sit flat, either.) He bid the job on getting it all flat and plumb before installing the stone. It was the right way to do it. They scheduled the job, much sooner than I expected and showed up right on time. José is a master craftsman and did excellent and detailed work. They even cleaned up some of the rough edges that the mason had left and made it much easier to get a good look when we install the sheet rock. Larry and José knew what they were doing from the start and it showed in the work and in their efficiency. They didn't cut any corners but still finished a day early. José listened to us and heard exactly what we wanted it to end up looking like. Then he turned that vision into reality. Masterpiece Tile made this a partnership with us to get us what we had envisioned. My wife and I couldn't be happier about how this turned out. We hired a local veteran to refresh our guest bathroom with new tile and replace the vanity. We agreed to buy all materials and pay him for his labor. We made a HUGE mistake by not asking to see photos of his work. None of his work was acceptable-- it had to be demolished and removed. Additionally, he somehow damaged the walls, ceiling, and bathtub and his drywall repair was even worse than his tile work. We called several reputable companies to see what it was going to cost us to get us a functioning bathroom again. Only two would even come out to take a look, most were simply not interested in taking over someone else's mess. Of those two, the first company gave us a bid so high that it was clear they did not really want the job, but would do it if we were willing to pay. Thank Goodness for Masterpiece Tile! The estimate was reasonable... several thousand dollars less than the first one to do the same job, and there were no unpleasant surprises. Larry explained what would be done and gave options we had not considered. He actually listened when I explained my wishes and his team went above and beyond to be certain that the end results were what I wanted, not what someone else's idea of how it should be done. Larry is soft spoken and quickly earned our trust by not suggesting or attempting shortcuts. He and his workers were always here when expected, were consistently polite to us and respectful of our home. They even tidied up at the end of each work day to minimize the impact on our family. Jose is among the most meticulous craftsman I've ever encountered- this means a lot to someone often called "a perfectionist". We were so pleased with the final results, we have hired Masterpiece again- this time to completely remodel our master bathroom. Larry and his team exceeded our expectations. We called him in to remove and replace our caulk and grout in our front bathroom. After inspection, he recommended we replace the caulk and stain the grout instead of replacing it. He let us know that this would reduce the risk of tiles breaking,. would provide a longer lasting water seal than simply replacing the grout, and would be a cheaper option than a full replacement. A week later we were scheduled! On work day, Larry and Jose arrived promptly and worked quickly. The result is a completely fresh looking bathtub. I have used MPTG twice, once for a shower remodel and then for a fireplace facelift. Both times, Larry and crew went beyond my expectations. The first project was a master-bath shower in 2016. MPTG's quote was thousands less and the references were impeccable. Larry was by far the easiest of the salespeople I met with, so I gave him the work. He did not disappoint! Within three days he had the shower gutted (tile) and cleaned out, plumbing redone, new marble installed, and the whole thing sealed and ready.
