The square bar in the center was easy and quick to get a drink while we waited for our table. Slightly confusing, we had to speak to four different folks to show our reservation and figure out where it is we are going to sit. We were then tucked away in a corner by the pool. Nice food and great views of the CN Tower. There was miscommunication between the servers so we had to make sure what we ordered is what we received or remind the server again. It's a classic spot where every half hour you'll see people with sparklers, champagne, and the awkward giant neon sign that advertises Lavelle more than anything, going around to satisfy everyone's thirst for social media clout. I forgot my big golf like umbrella on the chairs and upon going back in 3 hours nobody knew where the umbrella is or where to look. We were told to contact guest services without giving us any phone number or email. Browsed their website and I contacted them the next day on Instagram and haven't heard in the last three days. I'm sure I'll get it back! I'll probably be back next time when I am showing around Toronto again to friends.

It was a Sunday lunch time and the spot was pretty empty. You can smell the newly furnished space in here. Got seated on the second floor patio, they have lots of seating and umbrellas. Inside they have large screens for sport nights and watch parties. Food is your typical bar/pub food. But a great spot overall for larger groups and for comfort food. We got the platter on the menu that says meant for 3-4 people. It's definitely meant for 2, we were a party of 2 and polished it off no problem. Calamari was pretty standard as well but good for sharing. Overall, great spot to watch sports at while sipping beer.

I could see the managers bouncing upstairs and downstairs. It was extremely crazy during the peak of the Portugal game. The screens are angled well upstairs and audio is just right. We ordered the wings- just straight from the fryer and you can choose breaded or unbreaded. The platter had a little bit of everything. The burgers were just as good as the sliders from the opening. There are outdoor tables as well as indoor (which has floor to ceiling windows for clear views). The breakfast portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. Here's the complaint: They advertise on their website that their brunch hours are 7am-2pm. https://www.thebroadviewhotel.ca/the-rooftop/ We were coming back on the ferry from Centre Island, and we wanted to take some visitors to the Rooftop for a quick lunch, to enjoy the view. When I called about 1pm from the ferry, the front desk person was very vague about the restaurant hours - pretty clueless. She tried to transfer me to the restaurant - but I was placed on hold for at least 4-5 minutes, and no one ever picked up. Once our ferry got back to downtown, I quickly hailed an Uber to take us to the Rooftop. When we hurried up to the restaurant by 1:30pm, the hostess unapologetically told us that they stop service at 1:30pm daily, and she couldn't offer us a table. When I told her that the website said brunch is served until 2pm, she dismissed that, and offered no apologies. This was a very frustrating experience. Despite the fact that the restaurant offers a good view, I will not be returning. BTW - we stayed at this hotel (Broadview Hotel) for 4 nights - I would give it a 3.5 star. Not likely to come back.

The place did manage to fit over 75 people; however, the place isn't big and I did feel that it is a bit crammed. It does have three floors. The basement is where the washrooms are located. At the back of the bar are two bocce lanes. Upstairs there is a photo booth and a small sitting area. The building itself like many downtown buildings in Toronto is very narrow. Note that no food is being served here. Only drinks/ alcohol. I guess it is a great place to grab a drink or just to listen to music or hang out with friends. We ordered fried calamari, salmon tacos, and ceviche. The calamari was great, very tasty and a good portion. However, the salmon tacos were such a tiny portion, I was still hungry after. I think even for an appetizer it was a bit too small. The ceviche was delicious, but also quite small. We ordered a diet coke and rum for our drinks, and they were great. The pour on the rum was heavy, which was a delight. Then, we headed upstairs to the free photo booth!! We got such cute pictures and now I can keep them for my memory box :) Make sure to scan a code provided by your server to get a chance for a free photobooth session. Within checking in with the hostess and being seated, we encountered one of the only few flaws of this restaurant-- we had a table reserved for 7 people, and because we were seated in the downstairs dining area (where it was a little more crowded), we were not able to fully sit around the table, and had a longer table setup which slightly hindered the dining experience. Upon ordering the cheese pie, it did not take too long to be prepared. Considering it was one of the cheapest things on the menu, i was not surprised that it would be small. The pie is essentially just cheese bread with garlic confit, which was delicious and honestly worth the money. The tuna pizza that my friend had ordered was fresh, zesty, and such an effective palate cleanser for the cheese pie. Towards the end of the service, we were given QR codes to scan to redeem a free turn at the photo booth they have upstairs. It was so much fun, and completely made up for the rest of the dining experience at Vinny.

Menu is a tad over priced, but I can't deny it tastes good. Not overly salty or oily as bar food often is, and I actually really enjoyed their pasta. It's definitely a great place to go for a bit of a splurgy night with friends where you're prepared to pay $20-40 per person. I like it for a date night to have some heavier foods that I wouldn't want to try cooking at home. The short rib pappardelle was the best. I love the flavour and it's not too crazy heavy, even though it looks really creamy. It has very beef stew type vibes. The chicken wings were well cooked and still moist. I think it was too much flavour going on though. You LOVE the first and even second wing. But by the third one, I felt like it was getting too heavy. I know though that a lot of people love that and can't get enough of it. I personally don't like too much of any one thing. The brussel sprouts I felt the same. It's really yum for the first few bites but it gets really heavy after a while. I think it's really fun to have the appetizers and share a main with someone. The foods are a bit heavier, more of a flavour bomb, but everything is executed well and the staff are really nice! We've even done take out and the portions were very much the same.
