I'm happy to give a five star review because Brides On A Budget helped create the intimate wedding of our dreams. We were married at the Overture Center in September 2010, a beautiful space we didn't think we could afford or even arrange. Our wedding planner, Laura, acted as the liaison and handled all of the paperwork, contracts, seating and table arrangements, even down to the color themes and handling of the guests all while being completely professional and friendly and honest. Even though it was a small wedding, I could not have done this without the help of Brides On A Budget. The list of vendors they work with was fantastic and we were able to get real deals on our wedding cake, our flowers, even the person who did my make-up the day of. Working with Laura was like having a friend do the dirty work; she was a great listener and was able to understand our needs after just one meeting. She was diligent about responding to emails and phone calls and because of her hard work, we were able to just really be in the moment and enjoy the wedding and the reception without the hassle of worrying about organization or writing checks or overseeing guests or meals. Based off their rousing endorsement we decided to talk to them and instantly clicked with them. In preparing for a wedding there are a billion little things and vendors to deal with but our contracting with Mike and Jess was flawless and completely stressfree. They maintain an incredible balance of fun and professionalism throughout! Our reception couldn't have been more amazing. EVERYONE was commenting on how amazing our DJ's were. But I'm review the owners of this company for going a very SPECIAL EXTRA MILE and helping in an area they certainly did not have to. Towards the end of the event, when clearly the Done By Storm planners had been working their butts off (!) to make everything perfect, my daughter (who is a serious photographer) got knocked by a happy dancing person, dropped her camera and discovered the lens cover was broken and STUCK onto the camera lens. This is a nightmare situation for any photographer who values their camera and their work.... We ran off to the side of the venue and tried everything possible to separate the broken lens cover from the camera, while trying not to get tiny shards of glass in our hands. Several people tried to help but to no avail. Finally my daughter approached the two Done by Storm owners who were talking, and asked if they might have a tool to help. The gentleman RAN to get his toolbox, returned and began working on the problem. It was quite challenging, as he didn't want to cause any more damage on a delicate instrument, plus it was still a loud party all around. He kept at it for awhile, even though we told him we didn't want to take his time away from his other duties. But he kept trying and trying. And he got it off!!!! My daughter was so grateful she asked if she might give him a hug, and did. We were all so grateful and had no way to really to thank him for his kindness, his empathy and his incredible professionalism. The night would have been ruined for us had he not been so ready to assist. All I can say is that if this pair of lovely people were that attentive to the happiness of one of many guests, I can only imagine the attention they offer to their clients! They were able to assist our very young flower girl/ attendants when they ALMOST had a melt down right before they walked down the aisle, used their emergency kit to help with a handful of last minute needs, kept the schedule on track, and worked as an amazing contact for all of our other vendors so I had very few questions that I needed to answer allowing me to enjoy the day we worked so hard on! Mandy went above and beyond leading up to the wedding to assist with the final timeline and details. She was hired as a day of coordinator but she truly cares about her clients. With COVID, I had cold feet about the event itself and nearly postponed about 2 months before the wedding.
