Well, I didn't get very far with trying to hire this contractor to replace a large skylight on my roof. I could see on their web site the kind of work I could expect them to do as well as some of the reviews I could read from customers. Based on this and also on the statement on their site "If there are any products or services that you need that Master Sheet Metal does not currently provide, please let us know and we can accommodate you accordingly.", I sent them a detailed description of my needs and asked them for a quote. Paul is amazing. He replaced a custom skylight on my house 4 years ago. The work was done on time, on budget, with high quality. Paul even gave 5-year warranty on his work. After 4 years a hinge on the opening window of the skylight partially failed. I've called Paul before it became a bigger problem. I needed a new chimney cap/chase cover and Paul's service was excellent. He came a day after I called to measure and returned the following day to install a beautiful copper cover at a fair price. I had a tight timeline because we were installing a new solar glass roof and the chimney needed to be completed before roof install due to our very steep roof. Unfortunately within hours of installing our copper cover, the roof company said copper couldn't be used due to chance of water drips causing solar damage (no, I'm not sure why they didn't tell me this in advance!). So, I called Paul again on a Friday afternoon and he came back Monday and installed a stainless steel cap before 9am. So, now I have a spare copper chimney cover in my backyard, but hopefully I'll find another use for it! I called quite a few other companies and Paul's was one of the few that worked with metal other than galvanized steel. I was having my house painted and needed to have some large sheet metal repair for sections of the house. I can't believe my luck at finding this place. I was googling for skylights and this came up, which seemed to have nothing to do with skylights. The first places I called either gave me a machine; or told me I could place an order if I had the measurements, but they don't come out to look at the job; said it would be a week before someone could come out. I might also mention these other places made sure they told me that they would be responsible for the skylight only and take care of nothing else that may be wrong with the edging, rusting, roof, etc. Then I reached Master Sheet Metal. Paul offered to come out the same day. My contractor happened to be there and was convinced Paul knew exactly what he was talking about and what needed to be done. He had an estimate within a couple of days and said the job could be done later the same week. We chose this company and they were perfect - responsible, prompt and they were half the price of another company which I had come out before I committed to Master Sheet Metal. The second company wanted 4-6 weeks to do the job. Imagine - no stress at all. Also, Paul noticed that a chimney cap was missing on the roof, so we had him do that at the same time. I saw the reviews, called for a new tray for the my 25 year old large parrot cage that had rusted out. I was told that they could replace it and just stop by the shop. 20 minutes later I was at the shop with what I needed to replace.
