Absolutely great experience until we needed to have our spa serviced. We purchased the top of the line Michael Phelps edition LSX900 in 2020. A $19,000 spa that we got with a premium 5-YEAR extended warranty and we are currently having issues with the #2 Pump at about the 4 1/2 year mark. Customer Service, that has been top notch when we bought the spa, buy supplies for the spa and purchase replacement parts not warrantied, that all came to a screeching halt when the issue becomes theirs. You have to go thru a 3-Step screening process and fill out a PRE-APPROVED Authorization to charge my credit card before I even get to speak to a service representative. None of that was divulged when we bought the spa. After 5 days and countless phone calls to the St Louis Park office, we finally got someone to tell me that "service should call me back before the end of the day" I had plans to purchase a top of the line swim spa for my next house when we sell this one, but I can tell right now, it's not looking very good for Master Pool &Spa! read more

We had a great experience with Master Pool and Spa. We purchased a Trainer 19D in the H2X line. It is a dual temperature combination hot tub and swim spa. We are so happy with our decision to make this purchase as it has exceeded our expectations. The chemicals and maintenance is something we had to learn but there is so much good information you can read online from actual Swimspa users that it wasn't that tough to figure out. We are using it daily for exercise, relaxation, entertainment and fun! It is a large purchase and therefore you should plan accordingly. Purchased our spa from them 4 years ago and needed a new cover. I looked online to try and find a cover--but honestly the options for covers and sizes and the proper insulation for Minnesota weather was so overwhelming I ended up calling Master to see what my options were. I was so impressed with the conversation I had with Kennedy over the phone. She made it so easy for me. I noted I needed a few other things like pillows and a drink tray. She provided tips for us to ensure the longevity of the cover and other items we bought. Turns out the chlorine we were buying was not at all good for us or the spa. Another huge plus for us was the extra value of them disposing of the old cover. Highly recommend this business to buy not only your swim spa from but the swim spa cover, parts and products--and the quality chlorine is exactly what we needed for our skin and to extend the longevity of our pillows and cover. We purchase a hot tub June 29, 2024 it is now Oct 4, 2024 and the hot tub we purchased is sitting on its side with a major hole in one of the pipes. The first time we went to fill it water it came gushing out the bottom. There was a slice in the bottom skirt and a major pipe was damaged sometime between our purchase and delivery to our home on July 1, 2024. Upon contacting the Customer Service department they refused to exchange or refund and told us they would fix it. They have been unresponsive and still we sit with the hot tub on it's side that still doesn't hold water. We were told we had to make the payments which we are now 3 payments in and still no functioning hot tub. This was a fraudulent sale. They charged us $300 to haul of our old one which worked fine was just really old. We are out our old one and stuck with a new one that won't hold water. Still waiting... read more

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. (Portland, OR) Went to the "Pool and Spa Expo Show". Turns out, this event is put on Master Pool and Spa and they are the only vendor in the show. About 8-10 spas/swim spas to choose from. Connor was nice enough sales person. Dropped the price $1K as I was beginning to walk, so we made the deal. Threw in deluxe cover and initial chemicals to get started. Delivery time, approximately 4 months. Five months later, no updates to be had. Six months later, informed the hot tub was in Portland and I need to call "Travis" to schedule delivery. Six and a half months later and confirmed dozen calls/texts to "Travis" without a response, I went back to Master Pool & Spa to resolved. I paid Master Pool and Spa for the products and services. They outsourced to "Travis". I work with them, they work with Travis. Seven months later, I advised customer support I was calling VISA to cancel my order. Feels like I'm being scammed out of $9K. I got a call 48 hours later that the delivery company that covers the souther part of the state will be doing my delivery within the next 48 hours. The delivery guys (2) were nice and did a good job. But they would not take the wood pallet and/or the packing material (Cardboard, plastics, styrafoam, etc.) because it was delivered on a flat bad trailer. Still no initial chemicals. Called Connor's cell phone and he said they would be shipped. Never came... I live with the fear that I'll need a warranty claim and this company will be as shoddy as they were with the initial delivery. Lack of communication, not delivering as promised or expected. Overall poor operations. If you read the contract, Connor over promised and did not put in writing what he offered so I lost out. Buy local. Save yourself the stress of working with them. I will note, the hot tub has been delivered and after two weeks of use, is working great. Family loves it. I just wish the experience of buying the hot tub was better. 10x better. read more

We went there last year after the State Fair to purchase a swim spa. We sat down and started the paperwork. We told the sales person we needed to double check our financing and come back. He told us "if you give me a check I can hold your discounted price." He never once told us that the pay was non refundable! Our financing wasn't enough to cover all the costs. When we called to let our salesperson know and asked for our deposit back he told us company police is any downpayment is non refundable! What the heck! We didn't place an order an order nothing was in process! They kept my money. A few weeks went buy and they then started calling to set up our order and delivery. WE NEVER PLACED AN ORDER!!!! Buyer beware. Although Master Spas may make nice hot tubs, their dealer based in Minneapolis (Master Pool and Spa, Inc.) is bound to make your purchase experience uber stressful. This is especially the case if you buy the spa and you live on the west coast, and Master Pool and Spa is using their local delivery agent. They drop ship to a warehouse in a large city (Portland, OR is the one in my case), then hire local companies (their agent) to deliver the spa. My spa is sitting in a Portland warehouse. The agent they hired to deliver the spa to me in Bend set up the first promised delivery date. On the morning of it he texted me to cancel. Then he set up a delivery with me for today, but then didn't show up in the promised window of time. I called him, and when he didn't answer I called Master Pool & Spa. Only then did I learn from the agent that he was in another state doing another delivery. He just didn't bother to inform me at all. In both cases, I took a work day off in order to be available for the delivery that never happened. Master Pool and Spa seems to care less. I've lost two days of salary and precious PTO days, and all I get from them is 1) they are trying to set up deivery next week and 2) I can arrange and pay for my own delivery, but they won't give me a price break for the money I'll have to spend out of pocket, above and beyond the contract price. After all of this, and being very distraught, I checked the BBB for complaints. I found *numerous* complaints about their delivery agents just not showing up or not communicating, etc. I wish I would have read the BBB complaints before I spent all my very hard earned money for this spa from this company. I've asked for a refund, as I just want to walk away and forget about this nightmarish transaction. Instead, Master Pool and Spa told me they would would just show up and deliver it by dropping it in my front yard or driveway whenever it was suitable for them regardless if I can take yet a third day off work to be here. Here's the way I see it (and everyone in this situation should take note but make their own judgment and maybe ask someone who knows more than me): The sales contract with Master Pool and Spa reads as follows (its in the last paragraph of their terms and conditions- paragraph 5): " I understand that until the product is delivered to the retail or local warehouse, the delivery cannot be scheduled. I understand that the seller cannot promise to deliver on a set day or time. Cashier's check or cash upon delivery only .... ." Now, the langauge does not state what their obligations are *once their agent has actually set up a date and time of delivery,* as was done in my case, twice. It could very well be that by setting up the specific date and time, their agent has made an agreement which I accepted by relying on the agreement and taking time off in reliance on such an agreement. Check with your attorney if you find yourself in this situation, however. Also, it *could* be (without offering legal advice of course) that their contract language about the customer being responsible for attorneys' fees may not be enforceable when a customer needs to file suit to void the contract. Here's the language (first page): "If Master Pool & Spa Inc. incurs any expense in the collection of payments or enforcing the terms of this agreement, whether suit be brought or not, the owner agrees to pay all such costs and expenses including reasonable attorney's fees, interest, court costs, and incidental expense). " So what happens to costs of enforcing the contract when the *Buyer* needs to enforce the terms of the agreement? Again, probably a good idea to check with your attorney on this. Just a thought. Anyway, you can tell I'm mad as hell and just needed to put this out there for anyone who may find themselves in this situation in the future. And.... Buyer beware! read more

Horrible customer service and defective and unsafe swim spa. The salesman TIM OLIPHANT was friendly, professional, and quick to answer my calls until after he collected my $20,000 deposit. Then he was impossible to get a hold of. Furthermore, the information he did provide was inaccurate and even some straight lies. It was delivered nearly a year later, as expected, but in all that time he forgot to order my cover and did not send me steps. So I waited another month, meanwhile the swim spa got full of rain water and was filthy even though I did my best to cover it. To add insult to injury he ordered the wrong cover. When I could not get a hold of Tim, I was directed to the Customer Service Manager, DALLAS ERICKSON, who was almost as difficult to contact and as unhelpful as Tim. In the end I never got the correct cover or any steps. Three months later one of the pipes started leaking all over the electrical while the spa continued to operate, so I shut off the main power source. I had tightened the piping in January and there were no leaks after filling the swim spa. So I got in touch with the customer service agent JOHN DRAKE to ask them to have someone come out and repair the pipe, he said it's not covered under warranty, but completely safe for me to run the power again and swim in. His supervisor JUSTIN GINDER reiterated what John said and has yet to reply to my last e-mail. I spent $40,000 and this swim spa has been nothing but a nightmare, what a disappointment and waste of money. read more

RUN (DO NOT WALK) AWAY. This operation is only interested in making a sale--at any cost. Absolutely zero service after the sale. Among other issues, we were lied to about what we were receiving (told we were getting a cover lift when we asked during the sales process, only to receive a standard cover), lied to about the total cost of the project (for instance, the salesman said his concrete guy could pour our foundation for $500--and then it ended up costing more than 3 times as much), and lied to about the timeframe for delivery, which he said could be as early as 4 weeks. Every attempt to get more information or support went ignored for weeks or completely unanswered. I would never step foot in this place again and would caution anyone else from dealing with them, too. read more

First, I did not do my homework. Hopefully, this review will help you if your doing yours. Sales pitch was half truths yes, you can cancel your order at any time. But you will forfeit your deposit. (In hindsight, I should have forfeited the 3k) You can find a comparable spa for a whole lot less elsewhere. I was on a first name basis w Dallas. It took 10 months and a call to my credit card to with hold funds to get the spa delivered. One call, I was told "Dallas is on the other line. Who's is calling?" Then the person got back on the phone and said, "Dallas isn't in today" there were lots of unreturned calls. No apologies for the delay. Here my update as promised. I wanted to like them, I really did. Other then a woman I feel for at the phones, I will say that I've never had worse service purchasing a product IN MY LIFE. There was zero follow up on our order of a swim spa without my having to check in at least once a month (the spa was nearly seven months later then they told me with no call or discount or follow up. And a threat that there's a contract if I tried to cancel. Really?!?! I finally disputed the charges after 5.5 months of waiting without updates and the folks at Amex were like "that's nuts!" We will totally refund you. Anyway it finally arrived and we paid what we said we would. Parts are missing and no manual -they pass the buck each day "I'm out of town, talk to another person", says the salesman. That person hasn't responded and maybe the other parts for stairs are on their way??? I called twice and emailed a week ago three times- crickets. Who the hell knows how much is COVID and how much is just terrible service. I can totally understand the former. Anyhoo, I'm grateful the spa showed up at all and it looks like a very nice tub. We can't go in it yet. We got three days notice on delivery, not 2 weeks or so promised, so organizing the boom guy was shear luck. Our electrician is a couple weeks out. Anyway, half of the parts of the stairs are here so maybe we will learn how to build our own steps somehow or buy some on Amazon. This company is horrible. No complaints here!! Went in to look at spas and walked out with a purchase that would be delivered in 8-16 weeks. The salesman was perfect. Nothing too pushy as we were just "looking". He had lots of knowledge on the tub. Didn't feel like he was trying to get us to buy one that we didn't need. Just wanted one to relax and have some drinks in it on the weekend. Nothing too fancy. He thinks he knows how legal agreements work but has no idea. If anybody wants to call him directly (he is supposedly a manager). YMMV, as I can't speak for any of the other customers here, nor was my order and location the same as anyone else's. I ordered a TS7.2 (in the color that was recommended for fastest delivery) and it was delivered within the timeframe John gave me. Delivery was smooth, as I made sure I gave the delivery crew ample space to bring it to my backyard. The spa works great, and John definitely beat any of the local dealers' delivery by 4+ months. Worst customer service ever. The supervisor Dallas will not work with you to correct their wrong. He will only point out non-relevant contract language in response to discrepancies in what they said would happen and what actually happens. My estimated time for arrival was 4-6 weeks and it took 4 months, he tried to tell me that's because I was not ready for the delivery which is not true. I had my electric installed & my hottub built at week 4. The standard delivery will not cover your delivery fee. Beware that he will tell you that's your problem even though it was misleading. He will not offer any solution except to tell you that you should take that up with the delivery guy. A $15,000 hot tub delivered 4 months late and they can't cover the $350 extra undisclosed delivery fee?!?!! Unbelievable. Don't waste your money here. Not worth the stress. read more

I wanted it so badly. Then I discovered I can't lift the cover alone! There is only one handle which disappears when open. One person cannot lift the Twilight series 205 gallon cover. Please read the recent reviews and the Better Business Bureau reports as well if you do not believe this review. Still dealing with the issue; still no resolution. Purchase elsewhere. I purchased a $36,000 swim spa in January 2021, it was ready and sitting in a warehouse during the month of June but not delivered until August because the lack of organization. It arrived defective (Variable Speed Pump, VSP, shuts off) and missing parts (Power Box) . The VSP is what helps you swim in place and it shuts off; can't use the swim spa affectively. The pumps also control the relaxing bubbles, can't relax in our spa. I have been back and forth with the company since August when discovered the errors from the pumps have occured. I am beyond frustrated with their costumer service and lack of support. I purchased the Swim Spa for my disability and the lack of empathy that the customer service provides is extremely inhumane; scary. It is now January 29th, 2022 (5 months upon delivery) and still no repair. Mind you I have been on the phone monthly for answers only to get smoke and mirrors. Below is the company's reply on Jan. 27, 2022: "I wanted to give you a update, on Wednesday the manufacturer of the VSPs went out to get more information and document what could be causing the error to occur. At this time they do not have a definite answer yet, they are still looking into this and they are currently deciding on what to do next moving forward. Once I have more information regarding their plans I will let you know." "Apologize for any confusion, what I meant by choosing what to do next is regarding getting more data to be able to help resolve this issue. The manufacturer is still in the process of colleting the needed data for the VPS Error. Once I have an update, I will reach back out to you." They change the chemicals the spa needs at will and do not know how to advise you. I am having the same or similar issues as the rest of the bad reviews about Master spa. My hot tub was delivered extremely damaged. When I called master spa they told me to just receive it and they would send someone to fix it, but could not give me a time frame for the repair. I did not take delivery, and after 6 months of excuse after excuse of why they had not brought me a new hot tub, they finally told me they would NOT be bringing me a tub, and good luck getting my deposit back. They said I signed a contract and there are no refunds. I tried to have Amex reverse the charge but master spa sent them the contract I signed, and now I'm out $7,000 with no hot tub. Master spa even told me over the phone that they don't care about bad publicity because people are so desperate for a hot tub that they still can't keep up with orders. Updated Review: Master Pool and Spa (Dealer) passed me off to Master Spa (Manufacturer) to resolve the issue after they placed the cover order on my behalf. Mast Spa (manf) was able to deliver my spa cover today completing my order. Master Spa (manf) was not able to answer questions on when it would be shipped, much less delivered, I simply received a call from FedEx this morning saying they'd be here in 30 minutes. Master Spa (manf) could use better customer communication. Happy with the Spa itself, great product, working flawlessly. Original Review (2-Star): Spa delivered with no cover, delivery team indicated that the covers are missing for a lot of the Spa's they are delivering from the local show. This was an in-stock model from the floor so the lack of cover should have been known at time of sale so either deception or incompetence are to blame here as it did not get lost in transit or some other reasonable explanation. The customer Support Team in MN was understanding/friendly and has ordered one but it will likely take up to two weeks to arrive. Based on the reviews here I have major concerns about whether or not that will happen. Not off to a great start. Dallas is their customer service manager and makes promises as well and doesn't follow through. The tub came damaged and I've had other issues as well. We ordered and did most of the buying of the hot tub over the phone. We bought it based on a relative that had a master spa and loved it. They were a little pushy about buying right away or the sky will fall, standard sales people. Then when we called to set up delivery or talk about options no answer, litterly no answer. The master pool and spa in st Louis park has the worst service. My hottub is under warranty and the control panel is not working. I initially called on 1/26 submitted what I was told to submit and it is 2/10 I have continued to call was hung up on 3 times and contacted the so called manager of customer service Dallas who has not responded to several emails or requests. The service is ridiculous and unacceptable. They can't even respond to update the consumer on a status.. I am so unsatisfied and will not reccomend them to anyone. I have to pay a $90.00 fee for travel to the company that is contracted with Master Spas to replace the controller that is under warranty. To be clear, we did not buy a hot tub here (and based on the other reviews here, we are not likely to). But when we bought a house that had a hot tub, we needed a place to buy supplies when we're in a pinch. I will say that we've never stopped by and been unable to get what we needed -- chemicals, test strips, etc. So they get credit for always having what we need in stock. But the staff is not very friendly, the place is never busy and it's also kind of hard sometimes to catch them when they are open. The hours seem to vary. Once we stopped in and bought a bottle of something and the employee who helped us was in such a rush to get out of the store that he actually beat us out of the parking lot by running out the back door the minute our transaction was complete. But for test strips in a pinch, I guess it will do the job. read more

We purchased our hot tub from Spa Pool & BBQ Show, not realizing this at the time as we thought we were purchasing from Master Spas. We purchased the hot tub, was given all kinds of contact information and sent on our way. 3 weeks later we get the delivery team (husband, his wife and son) delivering 900lb hot tub. For real. They slide it off the trailer and onto our driveway and move it a few feet to the landing pad. Now all of a sudden there is a big chip in it and no ones seems to care. We have contacted the Spa Pool location and was told that we would be responded to in the order of importance. So as long as someone with a more pressing issue emails to Dave Spamasterservice@gmail.com the longer it will take for him to address our issue. Problem is we did not purchase a damaged model, we purchased a new one. We have contacted multiple people, sent in multiple photos and are constantly being passed off. You would think for $8k, you would at least get someone to inform you whats going on. Lack of communication is the worst. Master Spas, Master Pool & Spas, and all the other shell companies refuse to take any action. We ordered in April and they said we would have our unit in 6-8 weeks. Now they are saying 6-8 weeks again... We have gone back and forth for weeks to try and let them expedite things and they refuse! We ordered this for use in the summer and have built a $15,000 retaining wall just for it. Sad kids and parents feel ripped off after being treated like dirt. Received my spa tub on 3-5-2021, without the steps and starter kit (chemicals). I emailed Master Spa (dealer) that day a copy of the delivery receipt noting the items that were missing and also called. They had informed me that they would be sending the manufacturer the order and that I would receive information from Federal Express within (2) weeks regarding estimated delivery. Called after (2) weeks and was told the steps were still on backorder from their vendor. They were able to process a credit for the chemicals that were not delivered. One month later 4-5-2021, still no steps. Only to be told again that the steps were still on backorder and their vendor didn't have the materials to build the steps? I informed them to research other vendors. Look into other alternatives/options. I guess I will be waiting another month or so for the steps! So very disappointed. read more
