I think the donut place is now called Cloud Donuts. I visited on Jan 3rd and they had signage for new business hours. A family member has heard great things so we wanted to try the new donuts. The selection was not A LOT but had a great variation. The menu looked like they also sold boba! I would love to try the next time I'm in town. The donut place has ample seating and the staff were very nice. We ordered a box of six donuts. Everyone's favorite was the apple fritters. They had chunks of apples in the donuts. I just found the best Apple Fritter in the state!!! I'm an Apple Fritter purist and this is the best I had....and only $1.89!!!! Master Homemade doughnuts are so old school and slightly better than Allie's in my opinion. The Cinnamon Roll ($1.89) was also perfection and their Old Fashioned was fire!! Speechless I just picked up my first dozen donuts from this place. I've been craving donuts and don't feel like waiting in line for Allies. I'm not a huge fan of those heavy cake donuts so while I appreciate the craftsmanship of a donut from Knead or PVD, I don't find those donuts craveable I was pleasantly surprised at the creative selection offered. There were plenty of cake donuts for those who like that sort of thing, along with a few crullers and bear claws. I went straight for the case with the raised donuts. There were options like cinnamon crunch, maple bacon and chocolate coconut. I've since tried all 3. I'm about to go into a sugar coma because I can't stop eating these donuts. The maple bacon is a confirmed favorite here but I have loved them all. I think they're better than Allies, which pains me to say because I don't want to dis an institution. Now I just need to find out if they make donut cake... Highly recommend. Let's keep this place in business! read more

Umm, donuts! Or doughnuts? Whatever, this new branch of the West Warwick original is just as good and will give Allie's a run for its money. The NK branch needs a bit of a refurbishment with the landscaping and parking area (and the former drive-thru is not operational) but it's nice to see a high quality donut shop back in the former Tim Horton's location (and former Mediterranean restaurant). Master also offers good coffee, iced coffees, and boba teas as a bonus. But it's all about the donuts, right? They are, simply, good. We had a half-dozen assortment of their jelly, glazed, cream puff, boston cream, cinnamon, and a chocolate strawberry jelly. Now I won't say I ate all of them, but I certainly had a taste of each (I wheedled a bite from the kids - no, not ashamed at all!). All good, especially liked the jellies used. The location seems cursed. Tim Horton's, Bravo Pizza, and a Medierian place have all failed here. Hopefully this sticks, as Allie's has some serious competition. Good donuts, that are light and don't sit in your stomach like Dunkin. I'm not from Rhode Island so I don't know if this is a cult classic type donut spot but I was not impressed. When I saw the reviews, I thought "I have to go!" (Well, of course I have to go, they're DONUTS). I hate to say it, but I've been so spoiled with PVDonuts that nothing else has yet to compare (and I've tried my fair share of donuts joints). They weren't BAD, but I would not write home about them. The strawberry was a thin translucent liquid coating over a plain donut. I'm looking for creamy and decadent and it just didn't hit the mark. The prices were awesome for being homemade, I'll give them that for sure. Maybe I'll come back and try again but for right now, Master's isn't close to my top three donut spots. read more

This is definitely one of those "save this great place" Yelp reviews I write from time to time, because when I showed up during prime donut time on a Sunday morning, Master was empty. (I bet the line at Allie's was out the door.) I can't believe I'm asking for more of a wait, but ... well, I'm asking for more of a wait, because Master is legit and I'm going to need it to stick around, please. This is their second location, so I know these people can run a business. Here in New England, and in Rhody in particular, we know our donuts, but California also has a donut obsession, and Master is in the style of the West Coast's beloved donut institutions. Serving a smaller and airier product, Cali donut shops are often owned by Cambodian families -- and sure enough, so is this place, operated by a Cambodian immigrant who made his way here via SoCal. That gives it a veneer of authenticity, but the donuts speak for themselves. Do you really want to wait outside at Allie's in January? The owner is a very sweet woman. My mother before she passed away would come here almost every day and she would sit with my mother while she had her donut and coffee in between customers. My mother would rave about her coffee and freshly baked donuts. I ordered a donut cake over the weekend and wow puts other donut shops to shame.
