Update: After writing this review I have since been contacted and this was resolved. Glad they did what they could to resolve it. They assured me that their lack of response was due to management being away and sick for sometime. Understandable, and now the assistant knows they can handle instances like this on their own if management is not available. Bit of trust restored and mistakes happen. Original post: I hired Master Clean USA for a move-out cleaning to save time, reduce stress, and hopefully help secure my deposit back. The place was already pretty clean and while they did a good job on the bathroom, the rest of the house was poor and felt rushed and incomplete. The areas under, behind, and on top of the stove and refrigerator were left untouched, even though I specifically requested those spots to the cleaners on site and the rep on the phone, I was assured they'd be cleaned and that they were covered areas in the cleaning I purchased. In addition the windows were only half done, with dirt left in the inner frames, and the baseboards--especially in corners and high-traffic areas--were poorly cleaned with easily visible dust and dirt still left behind. The cleaners finished in less time than estimated, left early, and I was still charged at the higher end of the quoted range. When I came back to tip them for their work I saw this and unfortunately had to buy my own cleaning supplies afterward and re-clean these areas myself. I also documented everything with photos. What made the situation so much worse was the lack of follow-up from the company. Despite contacting Master Clean three separate times and being promised a call back from management to resolve it, I never received one call. I've used their cleaning service for several years sometimes regularly and sometimes as needed. They always send a small team of people and do a nice job. The best part of working with them is that they are reliable, can usually make schedule changes with short notice, and are EXCELLENT with communication. I am often out of town when I need the cleaning done and they have been very responsive and thorough with phone and email communications so I feel very confident and comfortable about the work being done. read more

We have been using Master Clean for about a year to clean our home. Lupita helped me select the best cleaning services and schedule, based on our habit of having lots and lots of guests to stay with us! The team she sends out know exactly what to do, they are friendly, and they leave the home spotless. (Plus, I've been using house cleaning services for decades, and it's rare to find a team that puts everything back in it's place once they have cleaned. 5 stars on that point alone!) There have also been a few times when we are between guests and I need a last-minute special cleaning, and Lupita always finds a way to accommodate me. Lastly, they love our kitty, who wants to go outside any chance he gets, but is not allowed (foothills/coyotes). They take care to ensure he stays inside. I have been a client for over 8 years now, twice monthly cleaning service. This company is exemplary. The staff is well-trained, good workers, and always cheerful. (This was especially true during the pandemic when Master Clean went above and beyond protocols, for safety of clients as well as their employees). My home is sparkling, and -- not a thing has ever been broken! I appreciate that Master Clean sends out typically 3 cleaners at a time. First, as a team (and they work as a team), your home is cleaned lickety-split in an hour. But as I have observed, I like that the ladies, sometimes with a fella, work with colleagues as opposed to all alone. I am certain that's a good thing for morale and makes for a pleasant work day. And possibly accounts for why so many of the ladies are longtime employees of Master Clean.That in itself means a lot to me. I regard this company and its employees highly. read more

This was back at the beginning of the year. My parents were coming to stay with me last minute, so I called about half a dozen cleaning services and Master Clean USA was the first one to respond. Their quote was a little high for a basic-level cleaning of what was essentially a studio apartment, but I needed it done quickly so I booked them. They were a bit late, which was annoying since I took my lunch break to let them in. Still, I understand people run late and it wasn't too much of a bother. My real problem was with the fact that my place still wasn't clean when they left. I have hardwood floors, and it just looked like the dust bunnies had been moved around a bit. The area under the kitchen table was only swiped at -- you could still see the lines where the Swiffer had taken a pass through the dust. It didn't seem like any chairs had been moved. I had asked them to pay particular attention to the dust and dust bunnies. Nothing was dusted. The coffee table was still dusty on top. ON TOP. I don't know what they were doing in there the whole time. (I am not a neatnik by a long shot, so please don't think I'm being overly OCD about the dust. It was obvious and everywhere.) I had to go back and clean everything after they left. Hiring Master Clean USA was supposed to check something off my to-do list and make my life easier, but instead my wallet was $150 lighter and I had quite a bit of stressed-out last-minute cleaning to do before my guests showed up. I called them to complain, and the woman on the other end of the line offered to send the team back to finish the job, but since I was in a time crunch I had already finished their sloppy cleaning job myself. I asked for a refund -- even just a partial refund -- but their rep declined and instead told me I could get a discount on my next cleaning job through them. I didn't ask for details at the time because I was so upset and figured I'd never call them again. When I needed a move-out cleaner last month, I did my price shopping way ahead of time. Just for the hell of it, I thought I'd call Master Clean USA since they owed me a discount and see what their reduced quote would be. I called and explained that I had used them before with unsatisfactory results but wanted to see if they'd honor their promise to do the next job at a discount. Their rep sounded very apologetic, thanked me for giving them a second chance, took my info to see how much of a discount they could give me, and never called back. It's been a week now. No matter -- I used Rosie's Cleaning instead and they were fantastic. read more

I just recently purchased a home in Old Town Goleta and although it was recently built, no one had lived in it for at least 6 months. As to be expected in such a situation, the house had collected a fine layer of dust, the frisge had an interesting musk eminating from it, and the bathrooms were starting to grow a fine strain of mildew. While researching a cleaning company in Goleta/Santa Barbara, Master Clean USA was always at the top of any list I found. I had no one I could ask for a referral, so I used other internet reviews to decide on a cleaner. When I called, Brandee was AMAZING in her assistance and helpfulness in scheduling a time for the cleaning. She was understanding with my short timeframe and was able to accomidate our needs. When the 3 ladies showed up on the cleaning date, they arrived in a clean car and were dressed for the job. THey were very professional and asked if there was anything specific that I wanted them to focus on. I mentioned the fridge and bathrooms and they said 'NO PROBLEM!'. When I returned to the home later that day, I found it in a completely different state than when I had left it. The floors were pristine, the walls and surfaces were dust free, the fridge had no trace of the smell, and the bathrooms were spotless. I cannot say enough of how I appreciated my experience with Master Clean USA. I will for sure be referring others to their service in the future. read more

Was not pleased with the job these cleaners did at my place. Granted I used the Santa Barbara Axxess card for the discount so sometimes service is on par with the pay right? Well I had asked explicitly for the focus of the two hours to be concentrated on the bathroom and kitchen as these were the problem areas. They were clean when they were finished but definitely not more than my average Sunday cleaning could have done. Then the manager emailed me saying the three cleaners had to take more time than expected because of the kitchen and bathroom so they had to charge me MORE than the highest quote they had given me. I recently needed a cleaning service to clean my daughter's apartment in Santa Barbara so she could get her deposit back. It HAD to be done that very day. I was getting ready to go help her (I live in Simi Valley) when I accidentally fell in my garage getting supplies together. It was a bad fall and I could barely walk so I got the Yellow Pages right away and called Master Clean USA. They had to fit two teams in because they were already booked up. Master Clean is my go to cleaning service whether I need a house, apartment, or office cleaned or just carpet cleaning. I've used them for years and they always do a wonderful job and are very customer service oriented. Each time, I'm happy to work with them! Recently, Master Clean totally came to my rescue. I needed an apartment cleaned that was in the worst shape imaginable and I needed it done within just a few days. Master Clean scrambled to make arrangements so that my deadline could be met. A CELEBRATION of MEDIOCRITY! You think you're getting something you'd rather not do yourself? Guess what? You will do it yourself when you discover what didn't happen. I had a $$$$ construction site cleanup = beyond lackluster. Why did I think they'd really clean out the drawers? Remember the light fixture? Investigate old fly poop on the window sills? Because technically, that could involve scrubbing and the topic heading may have been dusting. Which they did a poor job of: at $40 per worker per hour, get your own people and bring the supplies and stand there to make sure it's getting done to your satisfaction. Because this situation was a commitment to mediocrity, wait no, it was raising mediocrity to an ART FORM! Disappointment made real. read more

I had tried a few different cleaning services over the years and the last one my fiance had was also a disappointment, and it got to the point I just stopped looking altogether because I just felt disheartened. But I buckled down and spend a good day going through all the cleaning service ads and reading all the various comments on yelp, calling and asking questions. I finally came across Master Clean USA. They had great testimonials and consistent 5 star ratings on Yelp. When I called and spoke to the manager, she was very polite and was quick to get back to me on specifics. She came with the cleaning team, introduced each one and did a walk through with me and communicated to them the important things I pointed out. I like that there is a Team Leader and she always checks in with me each time they arrive to see if there's any special requests. She's attentive in listening, follows through, a very pleasant spirt, and I see she communicates well with her team. The team is diligent, cleans with CLEAN towels (hooray!) and even clean inconspicuous places/shelves, which really impresses me. They absolutely do a wonderful thorough job and show respect toward my home, and we are so very pleased, so much that we have signed up with them on a bi-weekly basis. read more

I can't say enough about the awesome service I have received from Master Clean. I am a vacation rental owner and Master Clean is my go to cleaners for all my needs, which is usually once or twice a week. They have never let me down. My guests continually comment on how fresh and clean the home is when they arrive. Unfortunately, on one occasion I neglected to schedule a cleaning and had guests arrive at our home to find beds unmade, dirty linens, etc. (my worst nightmare). Master Clean came to my rescue by calling in staff and providing an evening clean up while my guests went to dinner, totally saving my reputation!! Used to use at my office/work, until I was hired and actually paid attention. I noticed dirt on carpet (the vacuum cleaner combed the carpet but didn't suck anything up) and filthy bathrooms after each visit/cleaning. The cleaners did not have proper supplies. I am not a big Yelp reviewer. In fact, I think I have only written 2 reviews, but I have to give Master Clean 5 stars and recommend them to everyone! I have lived in Montecito for 3 years and have used many cleaning companies and independent people. I have never been satisfied with the work done until Master Clean. I wish I had found them years ago! All of the employees are friendly and very thorough. My biggest pet peeve is when the beds are not cleaned under and that was the first thing they went for when cleaning the bedrooms. They know how to clean everything. They know what not to use on different services and have all kinds of tricks they use. All of the floors, windows and granite sparkle! They really don't mess around....they come in and waste no time getting to work...vacuum backpacks really speed things up! Having 3 very young children in my home always makes me think of who I am letting in to our space....this is a family owned company that is insured, licensed and bonded. I feel safe opening my home to them...especially because my home looks like a magazine cover when they leave! Thank you Master Clean! Is it Tuesday yet....can't wait! read more
