Very good prices....The only complaint i have is the area around is not the greatest...While sitting there with my two kids i heard a whole bunch of MFS... Master Burger, Master Burger...what can I say?? Used to be my favorite burger joint in all of Los Angeles. When I first started coming here, I was pretty much looking over my shoulder all the time because the crowd that was hanging around me looked and felt pretty sketchy but honestly it was all worth it for the delicious burgers and the awesome fries. Now a days though, and sadly, I give it a four star because the burgers just dont have the same flavor they used to. The fries are not the same as before either. this is by far my favorite burger joint, but I only go there MAYBE once or twice a year..not because of the fat...but because I'd like to keep my life. there are always people hanging out close by that aren't there to buy food! The last time I went there (without calling first!) A 500lb lady walked up to me and asked me to buy her something to eat. I wanted to say, "Lady, the LAST thing you need is a masterburger!" This is the original master burger, the only location I like! BIG ass ghetto juicy burgers!!! Everything at this location is good though tacos burritos brekfast all good! Love this place! Mega sized burgers with great flavor and yummy fries. I order the carne asada burrito some days and it's a big burrito. I usually never finish the burger or burrito in one sitting. These are the two main things I order. I've ordered the fried zucchini and fried mushrooms, wouldn't recommend. The batter can taste a little floury even after fried. I give four stars because of the location and lack of customer service. But overall the food is great and is reasonably priced. Keep in mind, they only accept cash, but they do have an ATM nearby. This place was awful! The burgers were super dry and flavorless. The bread was stale and crumbly. The pastrami was so salty I felt dehydrated after eating. The fries were super salty as well. I went here because someone told me it was great and I generally trust their judgment. But it was not a good dining experience. Big burger... too big! I split it with my friend and we were both satisfied! Burger was delicious (only tasted pepper for seasoning but it was interesting!) and the small fries were huge as well! I wouldn't eat there again unless I had a pal to share with. It is a little over rated but it is still a good burger. Down point is the seedy location, I suggest day time visits. Main concern is, I have always had a problem with getting food from a place where I can't see the cooking area and this would be one of them. Ive been living near by for over 10 years, have driven by hundreds of time and I've always wondered how good the food was. I said to my husband i want a big fat juicy burger, so we turned to yelp. I've eaten at Fred's before but the fries are not my thing. He says wanna try master burger, I say why not YOLO lol. We show up on a Saturday around 3 pm. only two other people in line. My husband ordered the double king and i opted for the pastrami. The wait was around 15 minutes and in those 15 minutes we saw an amber wanna be and her bf, got a bit scared for a minute she looked hungry and im not talking about food lol. We got our order and drove home, 5 minutes later here i am staring at my juicy burger. God it was so good I didn't want it to end. My hubs liked his burger too, the patties were huge and well seasoned. Next time i think we will order ahead of time and pick up. I'm amazed that they are able to cook patties so big. When I make burgers at home too big I end up overcooking and drying them but they were able to make them and still have the burgers juicy. Well, I hate to write a negative review.... but, ummmm... omg... so, I ordered hot wings and small chili cheese fries.. the chili cheese fries were, meh.. the chili really didn't have any flavor.. it was bland. My daughter had a pastrami... it was ok, but we both found it a bit odd to put onions in a pastrami... does any one else find that odd?...however, the absolute worst thing were the hot wings...I bit into the chicken and it was rancid!!! yeh this aint master burger, not remotely close to the one we grew up with on Western, yall just keep the name to keep the clout...back then, Master Burger CLEARLY only served burgers...this institution is like any other one now on Manchester or Avalon, a Mexican food-Burger hybrid. They don't post prices for most of their items. I paid 8.25 for an order of two large fries...I take it the fries were each $4 and he made up his own tax of .25 cents. wldnt know, prices not posted. Lady ahead of me got her order, her drinks were smaller than wat she paid. She came back to the window and asked hi if he could show her the large cup size bc that's wat she paid for. this man told this lady she had to get back in line. by now two groups were standing in line. I was livid. I said no way just show her the large. how dare she have to wait that long, wen you guys gypped her on her order, then u tell her to wait longer. He showed her the cup but told her she had to wait. No way. U never fulfilled her order then, so go back and finish it. Proper protocol would be to correct the order you thought you completed. Anyone qualified to run a business would know that. I really wonder if they charge a consistent price across the board since no receipt is given, just a ticket, and no prices are posted.
