After keeping the truck for several days, they told us the engine was blown, had no compression, and needed to be replaced for over $9,000. That diagnosis was completely wrong. We took the truck to another mechanic for a second opinion and were told the issue was too much fuel at the spark plugs and that it only needed a basic tune-up. No blown engine. No compression loss. No $9,000 repair. Either this shop is incapable of properly diagnosing vehicles, or they were willing to recommend an unnecessary engine replacement. Either way, this is unacceptable. If we hadn't gotten a second opinion, we could have been talked into wasting thousands of dollars. Do not rely on this shop for major diagnostics without verifying elsewhere.

They claimed my front brakes needed replacing and recommended new rotors and calipers soon, but when I decided to check and replace them myself, everything looked perfectly fine. They also said the rear brakes needed replacement and suggested new rotors there too. The left backside pads still had at least half their life left, and while the rotors were slightly glazed, they were still in good condition. The only brakes that actually needed work were on the rear driver's side, and even then, only the pads needed replacing while the rotor looks like it may need to be replaced soon. Everything else they recommended was completely unnecessary. It is unbelievable they tried to charge that much for work that did not need to be done.

Reasonable price, great owner, and nice location…read more Came in for an oil change and to track down the cause of a recurring stall issue with my Volkswagen Tiguan. The mechanic listened, asked good follow-up questions, made sure he understood the problem before drawing any conclusions, and then diagnosed it cleanly. The part arrived within the window he quoted (2-3 hours), was installed without fuss, and the final bill was reasonable. What stood out as much as the technical work: he flagged a slow coolant leak and a minor oil leak -- this is an older car, so neither was a shock -- but there was no pressure to pile on services. He showed me rough estimates so I'd have them when I'm ready and left the decisions to me. That kind of straightforward, no-upsell approach is rarer than it should be. The waiting area is a genuine plus: free wifi, a table big enough to work at, and a small fridge with complimentary drinks, large TV. My one suggestion would be to add a coffee in the AM. Also, the door to the reception currently reads "B". Might want to avoid any confusion with better signage. That said, I am a big fan of this establishment and will be using them for repairs in the future (apparently sooner than I want :) Bonus: he pointed me to a wonderful Indian place across the street, Biryani, which I'd highly recommend if you have time to kill while your car is being worked on.

I ended up needing more work done and while it was expensive as cars are it didn't cost an arm and a leg. Gia the manager was also just pleasant to talk to and very communicative overall. She even offered to let me come around the desk to type in my credit card number for privacy which I felt was a thoughtful gesture. Overall my experience was great and my car feels better! This time I also needed to get my vehicle inspection done. I made an appointment for my services and after being there for about one hour and 45 minutes I asked how much longer it would be since no one was working on my car in the bay at the time. I was advised by a tech that they had to get a part down the street to complete my oil change and it should be 10-15 more minutes. This employee was also nice as well. My car ended up being done more than 45 minutes after I was told 10-15 mins. I was disappointed that even with an appointment I had to wait 2 hours and 30 minutes for an oil change and inspection. During my wait I was never updated on why it was taking so long or that the part needed to be replaced to change my oil. During my inspection I also had to pay more money to replace a bulb that was out and would need to be replaced for my vehicle to pass the inspection. At that point I didn't feel like going somewhere else and waiting to have it replaced so I just paid it even though the labor too high for what needed to be done. After about an hour I was called and told that the tire was "too damaged to repair due to another 'nail' that was in the sidewall so I need to get a new tire (suggested a $270 Firestone brand tire" so I took the car home and checked it out myself. I used pliers to pull the "nail" out only to find that the nail was actually a tiny piece of hard plastic lodged in the bulk of the tread. I used soap and water to see if there was any detectable leak... nothing. It ended up being 3 hours of my day wasted waiting on a simple patch repair. I wish they just checked a little better. Seems a little fishy to me. This isn't my first bad experience with firestone in general, but it will definitely be my last.
