I was back at Massa's by New Town with my family and we were seated in their outdoor patio. It is a nice simple patio and it was a cool evening and great to be outside. The waitress did an excellent job of checking back regularly with us. They have a good drink selection, however I do think that their beer selection is pretty basic. I would like for them to have more variety. The beers are cold and I had a Manhattan. We ordered the fried mushrooms, calamari, meat lover's pizza and the garlic cheese burger. The food was all very good and the portions were large enough that we were able to take about half of the pizza home too. It was a good night and a good place to enjoy the great weather. read more

Came here for a family members birthday. We did have a large party. Our server did his best. It's tough when one person orders appetizers and then most order separately. Their house Caesar salad was good. I had the side salad. Then I ordered a 12" margarita style pizza. The crust is crispy and thin. The toppings were just the right amount. Their toasted ravioli were good as well as the cheese bread. To drink I had their blackberry mule which was nice and refreshing. Massa's is a franchise, I had no clue they had other locations. This one is in a shopping center next to subway. They also have patio seating in the front ( little cold out for that) the inside was very dim lit but loved the decore and chandelier. Some of my family was disappointed about the cheese sticks, more so the marinara sauce. They said it was acidic. :/. I personally do not dip in marinara. the good overall was okay. read more

I just love those crispy edges on the large filet of sole. I chose sautéed spinach as my side, but they also offer mixed veggies, peas with mushrooms, or roasted potatoes. These are 5 star options in my opinion. I ordered a dinner salad for an uncharge and it was good, but it used to be better. Iceberg lettuce was mostly the white part and their house dressing tastes like ranch, so just be aware. My server quickly exchanged it for a sweet Italian dressing at my request. Faith is an exceptional server and was on top of things. I came here with a friend for a celebratory dinner - their choice of restaurant. It was my first time. Andddd I was underdressed lol. This is a classy place! I loved the decor inside and the intimate feel. We arrived while it was still happy hour and friend ordered a glass of wine on special, we also ordered appetizers on special - cheese garlic bread and fried artichokes. Both were amazing. I swear I will have to order that cheese garlic bread every time I go. It was fluffy and delicious! I ordered the cannelloni, which is an in house secret recipe that apparently only one employee knows and they handmake it for all the locations. Sadly i didn't love it as much as I hoped, but I think it was preference. The noodle itself was very thick and i didn't care for the mixing of the sauces on top. I had the dinner salad with it and it was delicious - I really enjoyed the house dressing. Service was also excellent. Drinks stayed filled, the waitress offered dish recommendations ( I asked) and the were polite and friendly. Wednesday night dinner out. Good service from the wait staff. Ordered cheese garlic bread, Cajun tortellini, French dip w/ sweet potato fries, and salad with toasted ravioli. Food was excellent. A couple hiccups, restaurant is very loud if you're seated at the bar side tables , we were there during happy hour so bar was packed. We didn't know we had to specifically ask for the restaurant side tables. Restaurant could use a good cleaning in the window wells next to the booths, lots of dust, dead bugs and wood shavings. And this is another of many restaurants not offering drink refills anymore, you have to specifically address this . Not sure how this is cost effective when we drink water and tea. read more

Love Massas! You can't go wrong with anything here. The Pepe meat ball app and Pepe medallions are a must to try! Love their massas Italian salad, Caesar salad and seafood pasta! We also love their lasagna and stuffed mushrooms. They are always busy so I recommend getting a reservation, arriving early or opting for the bar. I have been to this location twice and I don't think I'll be back. I hear people literally rave about this place but all of those people are drinkers so I have to assume they've already been drinking when they eat. The food is mediocre at best. I went yesterday with my daughter for the second time. I ordered the steak medallions, medium temp. I ate one and took the other two home. The one I ate was medium rare; I just heated up the other two and cut into them and they are rare, after heating up in the microwave. My Caesar salad had a super funny/odd taste and by midnight last night, I was sick from both ends. I went to the ER this morning after being sick all night and they confirmed it was food poisoning. The only other thing I ate yesterday was a bowl of cereal and a candy bar. I tried to contact the restaurant and was told the manager would contact me tomorrow but they hung up on me before taking down my contact info. My boyfriend took me here for the first time tonight, and wow, what a great experience! Faith was our server, and she was really nice, attentive to our needs, and overall contributed to our pleasurable experience. I ordered the Pepe Medallions, and I HIGHLY recommend. Although I ordered them medium and they came out med-rare-rare, I'm so glad they did because they were one of the best cuts of meat I've had in a while, just delicious! Also recommend pairing this with a glass of red wine, I ordered the house cab blend & it was great. However, if you're not a fan of anything cooked short of medium or anything a tad bit bloody, I would clarify this with your server. Boyfriend ordered the speciality Pesce dish, and he really liked it as well. It was dished beautifully (very aesthetically pleasing) and he gave it a 7.5, but says the sauce was definitely a 10. I have been here a couple of times before my last visit and I don't remember so for me, that didn't leave me aching to try it. However I am glad we did! We started with spinach artichoke dip which was fantastic! Some of the best I have eaten in fact. For my meal I got the Italian duo which consisted of a half portion of lasagna and cannelloni. I enjoyed the lasagna more, but both were delicious. My family each ordered a different course and all were enjoyed except the Cajun pasta which my daughter ordered. She said it lacked any spice for something called Cajun and she hated the seafood in it which the negative here was an odd tail or two on shrimp and they were not cleaned and that is nasty! Who wants shrimp intestinal tract? Since there was a wait we went to the bar and ordered a couple drinks and both were delicious... the bartender kind and knowledgeable. My daughter just turned 21 and asked for recommendations and the bartender went over drinks with her and ones that might match her taste! Definitely a great bartender. The restaurant was clean and a nice atmosphere yet not Italian I didn't feel. It seemed more like a pub than a great little Italian restaurant. All in all our waitress was good and she provided attentive service despite being bogged down with lots of tables. it is a nice little restaurant that we enjoyed and I would recommend if you are looking for good pasta in a nice clean restaurant with great staff. read more

Sort of middle of the road on flavor and the pricing is $14+ for a simple dish like Alfredo. (Just noodles and sauce) Also carbonara was just ok, even though I do love mushrooms. Much prefer pasta houses version with rigatoni noodles. Side salad was mostly cheese, which everyone loves cheese but then it isn't much of a salad. The appetizer bread was great, soft fresh and warm. And service was decent and friendly, was a pretty slow time when we arrived. We did get our appetizers and drinks but then other people who got there after us had their orders taken and got some of their food before the server even attempted to take our order. We said we were ready and she kept saying she would be over in a minute. We finally called somebody over to get.our order and then the server came over and said she was watching us and thought we were still looking at our menus. She finally took our order and then my girlfriend and I talked to the manager about her and he made excuses saying shebwas overwhelmed and actually one of their best servers. Steak Mudiga is awesome and we get it with pasta with white sauce (like Alfredo) which is really good and not thin like most italian restaurants serve. Their house salads are great too! I'll just start by saying that the food is always good. We get food here pretty often and have not had anything we don't like. The pasta con broccoli is probably our favorite. Pizza is delicious as well. We have only eaten inside 1 time; as the majority of our orders are to-go. Now let's talk about the curbside to-go... it barely exists! The have a area to pull up but they do not keep an eye on it or have a bell/buzzer that you can use to alert them that you hav e arrived. Even when I had my foot in a cast, I had to hobble in to pickup my curbside order. Either add a buzzer or stop offering a service you rarely provide. I honestly stopped tipping as well as I had been because I end up going in 98% of the time and no one's giving me my gratuity back when I'm getting my own order. read more

We've been here a number of times but somehow I've never posted a review. Massa's has a pretty large, mostly Italian menu. Any classic Italian dish you can think of can be found there. And they do a great job giving you that classic meal that you'd expect. The house salad is really good with the zesty Italian dressing they make. The garlic cheese bread comes out piping hot and is a nice accompaniment appetizer to the salads. I don't think you can go wrong with any pasta selection they have. I've tried several. On a weekend night it's a pretty busy place. Being a small dining area they pack them in pretty close together. However in the present post stay-at-home day we live in, they've done a good job of spacing out the tables to social distance their guests. read more

Evening is a little less than great, however, service was a bite less friendly, food not quite as flavorful. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and their potato side. Nothing on menu stated that if ordered that side that no spaghetti would be under your chicken. That at least was our servers excuse. Didn't really believing that. More believable was the plater forgot to place the spaghetti onto the plate before placing tomato sauce on the plate and then the chicken. Their fix......give be a bowl of plain spaghetti. Mor was there any Parmesan topping the chicken or on the bowl of spaghetti. When asked for some, was brought this oversized bowl of very dry shredded parmesan. So ate that by rolling around fork and dipping into tomato sauce and adding a piece of the chicken. Nor did they come and refill our drinks. After bringing the bowl of spaghetti, next time we saw her was when she brought us the bill. The atmosphere is very nice. Think old fashion Italian on one side, Cheers style on the bar side. I was in a bit of a bind. I had reservations for a large group that fell through. Josh worked us in at the last minute. Thank you, Josh! I arrived about 10 minutes before our 4:00 reservation. Our tables were already ready for us. Kelly, our server, immediately began bringing water to the table. As my friends began arriving, Kelly took our drink orders and made sure everyone had everything that was needed. Shortly after 4, Kelly brought warm bread and butter to the table and began taking our orders. I'm not a huge fan of bread. Anyone's bread. But this was yummy I had the Cannelloni. It was absolutely delicious!! It had a mixture of red and white sauce and was loaded with cheese. A friend had the Cajun Pasta. Another winner. This was shrimp and chicken in a spicy cream sauce over Penne noodles. Looked amazing. She was able to request a lesser level of spicy. Another friend had the Combination Pasta. I was unfamiliar with this dish but it looked awesome. It was a combination of Ravioli, Linguine, and Penne noodles. It was baked in a red meat sauce with cheese on top. All the servings were very generous. Though I was very hungry before dinner, the 2 Cannelloni noodles completely filled me up. Many of my friends had take home boxes. Kelly was very attentive throughout our meal. She stopped by often to give us refills on bread, refills on drinks, and generally check on us. Near the end of our meal, Josh stopped by our table to make sure all had gone well with our meal. I heard only positive comments about the meal from all my friends. Everyone was very pleased with the meal. What a change from my last experience at this location. I honestly can't think of how our meal could have been better.
