Andrew is my massage therapist. Asked about allergies, areas of focus, areas to avoid. Massage all told was about 50 minutes. The back part of the massage was decent. The rest was okay, although quite average. Half hour facial was after my massage. The aesthetician seemed disappointed I was only getting a half hour facial. She told me to just take off my boots and lay down facing up. Not to even put on the wrap. The cleanse and facial was quite lame. I got some non-descript stuff on my face, but had no idea, since her was no commiunicatioj during the entire visit The aesthetician never even mentioned who she was to me at all, didn't speak to me at all. The mask was one of the paper thin ill-fitted masks you buy at CVS. My face didn't feel cleaner or anymore fresh than when I do my night routine. I learned after the fact as I checked four that her name is Tina. She's not a very good aesthetician. She's not as good as some others that have treated me. Didn't seem to be a people person. Andrew did my hour deep tissue massage. It was okay. I wouldn't get a facial here again though. read more

It was my first time in the place and the service was very poor starting with the welcoming people I think that a nice and smiling welcoming is a must to make you come back but didn't got any and the attitude of the personnel is as poor as the management. I have been a monthly regular at massageluxe for over five years, and have been there consistently because of my therapist. I love my therapist, she is phenomenal. She is thoughtful to provide the right amount of heat and pressure for all my aches and pains. She includes scented oils to help me relax. There are a few massage therapists that are really good here, but you always should find the one that works best for you. The inconsistency that I do experience is with the front desk, as a regular member I have not seen the front desk help be consistent. They seem to have an extremely high turnover (rarely do you see the same person from on month to the next), and they often seem to forget to do things that they tell me they would. For example, call me back, enter my name into drawings, keep track of earned additional time. This is why I would give them a 4 star rather than a 5 star review. I have been annoyed with the front desk numerous times over the years, but the quality of their therapists is what keeps me coming back. They also have great facials and add-ons that are worth checking out too. read more

Went last year for mine and my boyfriends anniversary as a treat to this location since we live about an hour away and got the couples massages. Loved loved loved it I had Charlotte and I believe he had Quinn and now this time as another anniversary reward I had Quinn and he had Charlotte. Absolutely loved them both it was the best experience ever I swear they have magic hands. Both very warm and inviting and definitely focused on both of our problem areas. I'll come back again just for these ladies! Once the massages were over we both headed to checkout and the lady said $120 so I gave her $60 cash and my boyfriend was gonna pay for his on his card and we tipped cash separately but then it got confusing cause I didn't realize the first time we went it was new member discounted rate and this time around it was gonna be $120 EACH which no problem this is a treat and so so so worth the experience......however...the sales pitch to get the membership the lady was forcing on us really got confusing and suddenly I wasn't so relaxed anymore. But shoutout to the massage therapists both amazing ladies and I'm looking forward to our next anniversary treat!! This was my first time at MassageLuxe Novi. I booked a facial and a massage. Overall, it was really good, my massage was phenomenal and I have already booked another appointment with the same therapist. My facial was okay, she never introduced herself, I don't believe she even knew my name and she essentially ran out the door when it was over. Little disappointed with that. I went here as they were advertising a great deal. I wasn't interested in doing anything monthly- I really just wanted 55 minutes of relaxation. The place itself is very clean and quiet, which was perfect. Everything was fine until the actual massage. The massage was done by a man named Patrick and it was by far the most subpar massage I've ever received. I didn't feel like he worked on anything, he just moved his hands around a lot and kept trying to talk. I was really disappointed and not relaxed at all. Well at the beginning, you bet the front desk receptionist was extremely nice while trying to sell a monthly membership. That "nice" attitude at the beginning didn't last long because if someone isn't ready to say ohhh definitely I'm so ready to get $100's pulled out of my account every month, the lady who was just nice 1 minute ago is ignorant and rude and can't even look at you when you say have a nice day as you leave the spa! That was super cute attitude, never coming back. Why deal with these kind of weird people. Can find better ways to spend a day off. I've had a membership here for two years and cancelled it this weekend. They have a constant turnover of front desk staff and massages are average at best. Just not worth the money. I've asked to get reminder calls for appointments and don't get them any longer. I have heard horrible things about the owner who owns this and other businesses. I can get a massage at another place that treats their clients better. I will be contacting their corporate office about my experience this weekend and choose not to put those details on this site. They obviously have problems at this location and hopefully will get it back on it's feet. I'm not going to wait for that to happen though ... I'm moving on. read more

We did a couples massage at the Novi location. The place is very clean and modern. The staff is very professional. The massage itself was great, it's been about a year and we needed it! The last place we went (not a MassageLuXe) beat us up pretty badly (LOL). This time it was as much pressure as you want, and both of our therapists were very attentive and asked questions to make sure we were comfortable. I stopped here the day before I ended up getting a massage because they had a lit sign that said "Walk-ins welcome" but they did not have any appointments available until the next day. The massage I received from Aiden was wonderful. He was a delightful person and really worked out the knots in my muscles. The building and atmosphere is wonderful too. What wasn't wonderful was the upsell I received upon checking out. The woman seemed baffled that I didn't want to try out their Hydro-whatever it was. She then seemed pissed when I declined to join their membership program because I can't afford $60/month. I was quoted $24 for a 30/minute new customer massage when I made my appointment, but I was charged $10 more than that. Prior to checking out I was confident I had found my new massage place. Now? I've been going here regularly for at least 4 months. Give them a shot. The intro deal is great. I have found them to be very fair in their business practices and very accommodating of requests. They're in business to make you relaxed and happy. I read all of the reviews. Yes there are some valid points made. One reviewer mentioned the folding wall couples room. Those rooms are probably great if you want a couples massage, not so great if you're hearing another person across the folding wall room. That happened once to me. Here's the difference. I told them what I didn't like and they accommodated my requests. They noted my account and I haven't been in a couple room since. I pre-book my appointment over a month in advance. This ensures I get the time I want and the therapist I want. I have never had a room that was unclean or unprofessional. I do on rare occasion come across scents of aroma therapy treatments scents that I may not prefer. That's part of using a massage clinic and not paying for a therapist to come to my home where I control the environment. I had some therapists use techniques I didn't like. I communicated. They accommodated. They can't make you happy if they don't know what makes you unhappy. I sent my wife in a few times. She didn't like the first therapists techniques. My question, did you tell her what you wanted, like and didn't like? She did not. Ok don't complain because I went back to the same therapist and think she's awesome but I did have to communicate. Her next visit, she communicated and really enjoyed the massage. The monthly contract is very straight forward. But you need to understand what you're getting into. It's very clear, you can't share time with family members. I do have to ask how much time is on my account and my wife's account. If I had a request, it would be for them to send an e-mail at billing indicating pre-paid time available. Develop an app to book, cancel, and check time bank much like the gyms having using Mind Body Online as a back end tool. One day all of 696 was shut down and I couldn't make my appointment. Because I called ahead of time to let them know I was going to be late, and being trapped in a standstill on the freeway, the initial response was thanks - you'll just be late for your appointment. That's fair it's what we agreed do. When they realized 696 was shut down and I couldn't make any of the appointment. They called me. They didn't charge me for the appointment but technically by the contract they could have. Another time I accidentally lost 3 gift cards I bought. I didn't give them away as Christmas presents. They looked up the cards, verified they weren't used, and credited me the money on my next purchase. IMHO, this was above and beyond and great customer service. Here's the bottom line. Massage Therapists have an extremely difficult physical hard work job. They are body and muscle experts. They are not trained mind readers. I found the therapists and staff at Massage Luxe extremely easy to work with and very accommodating. They aim to please and understand every client is unique. To the reviewer that complained about an up sell from an intro deal. They're a business. It's what they do. I personally wouldn't respect any business that does ask for more business. I understand that business loose money dealing with Groupon. If you don't want the up sell or can't afford it then say "No thank you" and move on. I take time to understand the business relationship and respectfully communicate my preferences. I understand that it takes time to develop a relationship and set preference expectations with a therapist. What I found is a fair and honest business that does their best to make their clients happy. You can't ask for more than that. read more
