I love the variety of items that I can find at Ulta. I came in on a Saturday and they were plenty of associates walking around to help people. I just wish that they didn't compliment you every single time they see you. Every associate that I talk to gave me at least two compliments on something - my hair, my glasses, etc. I would like to say it's cuz I am just rocking middle age . Very mellow location. No one asked me if I needed any help until I was about to leave the store. I went to check out some concealer options as well as loose powders. I ended up finding some Bare Mineral loose powder. I didn't realize I am more fair than I realized, fair and fair ivory. I also tried the fair concealer as well. The fair matches my skin the best and looks matte and translucent on my neck and my wrist too. read more

I have been going to the salon at this Ulta for almost 2 years. I was going to see Valerie S. here. There were several times that instead of doing what I requested she gave me a hard time regarding my request based on personal feelings. I would initially call to book my appointments over the phone. She requested that I begin booking my services online, which I accommodated but due to the scheduling system descriptions I booked appointments that would need additional time or services added. I communicated several times that booking online wasn't ideal for me. So, in the most recent instance, I reached out to her via phone to fix the appointment. Instead of being helpful to a longtime customer she decided that she no longer wanted me to be her client because she is now working as a masseuse and somehow was under the impression that I didn't understand what she was saying regarding scheduling, services, time requirements and was extremely condescending. As a stylist, it is their job to manage their books and to ensure booking is efficient. I have no issue with people working additional jobs to make ends meet but when you start treating customers different because you have a complex schedule that becomes an issue. I would say great store, but the customer service is lacking here in the Salon. Very Disappointing and Drama filled location. An attitude adjustment is needed and it's clear why she can't maintain clientele outside of this establishment with constant arguments with other people, terrible customer service when miscommunications occur, and no dedication due to pursing other trades. Feel free to shop here but be leery of booking salon appointments. Ulta pays minimum wage instead of allowing them to keep the money for services however, it is unacceptable to exhibit such a disregard for people. Im done going to this Ulta. They need new buyers and manager. EVERY but EVERY time I go in their nail polish selection is TOO LOW . There's a better selection at Myers or even Walmart and as far as their makeup goes, I can buy that online for the same price. They really do need new buyers or whoever keeps their stock up needs to be replaced. read more

This store is amazing, and deserves an updated review on how amazing it is. The workers here are extremely kind and so sweet. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and assisted with what I was looking for. The environment was highly positive and the store was very clean and organized. If I had trouble finding a product, I would be given other suggestions on what products to try instead. I've been to this Ulta location multiple times, and I continue to be blown away at how great the atmosphere truly is. Highly recommend stopping in! I live over 20 minutes away, and will still go out of my way to visit this fine store! read more

have always loved coming here for things I need last minute. but today was just terrible for customer service with a cashier. she's smacking on her gum I say hi doesn't say anything back, doesn't even check if I have points when I did, was on her phone while checking me out. Very unprofessional and just had a bad attitude. I will say this to any age, if u hate working the don't work. if u have to work then take into consideration that sometimes u have to be professional u get paid for a reason. read more

Parking is convenient. There is a lot of selection in here for cosmetics. The nice thing about this store is that you can go for like an hour or even longer and be completely ignored. If you're in the mood to just look around and not be bothered this is the perfect location and it allows you to tinker with all the colors and testers. If you have questions or need advice this probably isn't where you want to go if a conversation is needed with an employee, but if you have your phone you can at least google it. Sometimes there's good coupons for this place so watch out for those to get your deals. Just treat this place as totally self service and you won't be too disappointed. I recommend that they just use check out kiosks here since there's zero human interaction provided by the staff here and they've proven it's not necessary have staff employed here to shop at this store. read more

The workers at the Ulta in Novi are so rude!! They do not like to help their customers. I've purchased shampoo/conditioner and other supplies and always spend over $200 and they do not even acknowledge you! No hello, no smiles, no goodbye! I have vowed never to ever go to this location. I hate coming to this location. They only ever have one person on the register and the line is down the isles. I usually only come here for specific products but because of the line I have dropped everything and left multiple times. The staff is rude and looks like they're constantly judging you. They have workers at the door and throughout standing and talking to each other while ignoring customers. If they actually had more than one person at the register and better customer service I might consider shopping at this location again but other than that I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here and I have steered friends from buying at this location. read more

I went in for a haircut and had an idea plus a picture for the stylist. I had my daughter with me as well for a cut for her too. I thought my appointment was booked online and they didn't have my appointment listed upon arrival. I was told then told they were major issues with their booking system. Then I was told by the stylist that I needed extra things but was not told about the additional costs of those things. For example a kids cut is $20 without a wash but the stylist insisted she had to flat iron my daughter's hair to cut it so I said ok. Not knowing it would be an additional $25 upcharge. Then an adult signature hair cut is supposed to include a deep conditioning treatment. I was not only billed for the haircut but then double billed on the treatment. The stylist didn't follow the image I gave as to what I wanted my hair to look like. In essence I paid a ton of money for a bunch of extra fees that weren't communicated with me plus given a cut I didn't want and now will have to go to another place to have fixed. Terrible management and awful customer service. Whats even worse is the fact every single one of these woman working here, spends more time playing with makeup on the floor and doing their own personal touchups and dont even bother to assist customers. I was standing in the front of the line with a 50$ purchase with a giftcard that needed a void with a "manager" for over 15 minutes. The cashier who couldnt figure it out herself didnt act or look at all professional, wearing a dirty black shirt and even more gross personality. She even rolled her eyes at me, as she "pretended" to page a "manager" from her "earbuds and walkie talkie". "Manager is coming" she must have said this about 5 times. Heres a thought, why dont you hire and train cashiers who know how to do a simple void. Other than have me hold up the line for 10 minutes and then decide to have me stand there as you ring a line of 20 people. Full line. One cashier. Finally after 15 minutes some bimbo walks to the cash register and asks if ive been helped. Uh no? Look im standing here with merchandise on the counter and 20 people standing behind me that are also pissed off. No manager ever showed up to the front. This is novi? Its ulta. HELLO?? read more
