The customer service here at the store is actually exquisite, the workers are extremely friendly. They have amazing recommendations for products to go for your first time ever walking into lush. I always love the different varieties and collections that they have exhibited as soon as you walk in, they allow you to even test out many of the different Products, including the hand soaps and the bath bombs. One of the most important things that I love about lush is that they often create products for causes that are very important, and donate portions of those products to people in need! read more

I would give negative stars if I could. Don't waste your time at this location! I got charged for an item I didn't have and by the time I noticed it, they were closed. I live an hour away, so I made a call to their store and talked to the manager to see what could be done- I was instructed to come back the next day I was able and to bring all the items I did purchase with me so they could get me a refund for what I DIDN'T PURCHASE. I told them the next day I could even get over there was December 26th. The manager confirmed that was fine and they would process a refund. Alright, fine- an hour drive isn't ideal but to get a refund, I would do it. And I did. Unfortunately upon getting there not only did they deny my refund due to a 'Boxing Day sale', they insinuated they had no way of telling if I received the item in question or not- basically calling me a thief! The audacity to say I would go through all this trouble to fix THEIR MISTAKE just to try to scam them??? No amount of product is worth their petty commentary and lowbrow attitude towards me. Basically traveled an hour out of my way, wasting MY time to try to resolve an issue THEY CAUSED. And all they could give me was a phone number to their customer service line-- which they had to go look up. Who doesn't know their own customer service line?? Regardless--- one phone call to their customer service was all it took to fix the issue, but I will NOT be returning to this location and their poor customer service. Employees and Manager should seek other employment where they don't have to deal with people-- it's clearly not their strong suit. TLDR; DON'T GO HERE, THEY'LL OVER CHARGE YOU AND CALL YOU A THIEF FOR TRYING TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK. read more

Lush is a great store with fabulous products that are natural, environmentally friendly and mostly vegan. I also like feeding my girly indulgences. My husband cannot enter the place as the smells kill him but he happily lets me frolic. I find the staff helpful rather than intrusive but maybe I just don't look like the person who wants an eager puppy saleswoman. Here are my fave products: Each Peach massage bar - no mess and smells citrusy terrific, my husband's fave product. Bohemian soap - smells like lemonade, my new fave soap Lemslip buttercream - extra moisturizing soap. Low lather but excellent lemon-orange scent. Sexy Peel soap- great scent but a bit too scrubby with the orange peels for my fair skin though. I just use it with a washcloth. Slammer - a wide awake shower gel that reminds me of a margarita, yummy and bold. Bon Bomb bath bomb - smells very citrusy and has moisturizing bits in it, perfect for an indulgent bath. Butterball bath bomb- extra moisturizing and just terrific to add to the bath. Snow Fairy shower gel- makes me smell like cotton candy mmmmm. read more

Makes you become a compulsive and impulsive shopper. Yet, I will keep running back. Saying I love this place would not even do my feelings justice. I decided to do my review for this specific location because the employees are awesome. The store is VERY well maintained (as I've noticed with all Lush stores). The place smells HEAVENLY. It's an aromatic paradise, a euphoric feeling for your nose. If only I could attach scents to reviews. They would speak for themselves. This location has me quite swooned because the employees at this location were very helpful and attentive. You never had to wait to ask someone a little question, or wait to be approached. All employees took charge and asked if anyone needed assistance. I guess in some way, things can be a little overpriced, but everything I've purchased lasts me a verrrry long time. A little goes a long way with a majority of their products. Must try the "Don't Look At Me Mask, R&B Hair mask, and Jersey Bounce Shampoo" trust me, you won't regret it. If you bring 5 empty pots of anything in store you can get any free face mask of your choosing. So so not throw away that cute packaging, it's your ticket to a freebie. I was in from out of town and looking for some toothy tabs, a male associate came over and helped my cousin and I every step of the way. I am so glad that Lush came to the US around the time that I did. At first I thought 'd lose one of my fave stores when moving, then for a while I had to get my fix in Chicago, but now these glorious stores are everywhere which makes me happy x infinity. Some of my longtime favorite products are the Seanik and Big shampoos. Seanik is a shampoo bar with seaweed and some other items promoting smooth, shiny and voluminous tresses. Big is just that, a fluffy salt based shampoo with the consistency of a scrub. It gives your hair the perfect base for a voluminous 'do. Pair it with the Big conditioner and crank it up to real high levels. At $26/jar the price may be a concern, however the product is very economical in its use, a little goes a long way. As a patchouli lover I adore the Karma soap bar, Honey I washed the kids is delightfully honey-y and caramel-y and Alkmaar is a creamy, milky delight. I went to highschool in Alkmaar, there's a fun fact for the day, eh. Angels on bare skin is their best selling facial cleaner, it is creamy and mild and deep-cleanses your skin and rebalances its oil levels perfectly. Herbalism is angels' big sister with similar properties (rebalancing the skin) but she focuses a bit more towards acne prone skin - a good choice during occasional bouts of breakouts. I like to mist my face with the high quality tea tree toner, it is refreshing, cleansing and tightens the pores properly. Lemony flutter is an awesome, lemony cuticle cream. You skin will soak it up and your cuticles will undergo a transformation in no time - it is better than the cult favorite Solar Oil cuticle treatment, in my opinion. The bathbombs are fun fizzies to add to your bath when you're in need of some R&R. The butterball variety smells heavenly. It has a very creamy, light sweet vanilla scent and because of its cacao butter it is very moisturizing. There are a lot of solid massage bars which simply melt in your hands via the warmth of your skin. These last for ever, by the way. Lush does not test their products on animals, they do not contain crazy ingredients, are handpackaged and small batch produced and most all of them are at least vegetarian and plenty products are vegan. I love this store and its products, even if the products in this store weren't ethically produced and of high quality (which they are) it is a little piece of home for me, and you can't top that. read more

Happened to just almost walk by this store when the scent lured me in. I was giddy when I realized their products were all natural and "green." My bf lavished me with a starter kit and some bath bombs. Since then, we have added Razorantium shaving cream (my bf gets lickably soft skin...ok...i dont really lick his skin, but, i'm just sayin), ocean salt cleanser (makes my face smooth) and shampoo bars (a few swipes on the ol' head and it lathers quite richly. also doesn't come in any packaging like shampoo bottles). they are a bit pricy, but, i'd rather pay more and make a bit of difference in the world. not to sound too tree huggy! the staff is also very helpful and knowledgeable. read more

I did love this store before yesterday. My daughter was so excited to go use her gift card she received from Christmas. We drove 30 minutes to our closest Lush store. They were out of just about everything. I asked the sales rep if they were closed because there was pretty much nothing in the store. She said no. C'mon Lush, it's a week after Christmas and you had no inventory. How disappointing and a waste of gas and time let alone a disappointed little girl. I ended up letting her order online. I'm totally addicted to this store! I was turned on to it when a client gifted me a bar of soap as a Christmas present. I have severe allergies that get triggered by many commercial beauty products so I have to be careful. Little by little I've weened off most products and use solely Lush. I do like to smell earthy and this store comes through. I love this store on all realms. Is it a little pricey? Yep. Is it worth it? Oh yeah! I'm at a point in my life where I would rather pay Lush prices, feel pretty and use the whole product then try something cheap that triggers my allergies, causes a skin rash and ends up in the beauty graveyard. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Their job is to sell products so I don't get too upset when they want to show off a new product to me. If I'm not interested, I thoughtfully decline. This was my first ever visit to a Lush in person as well as my first purchase from Lush. I went because of a review on Yelp of the Somerset Lush -- 12 Oaks is closer to me and Somerset kind of intimidates me with its ritzy-ness. I really loved this store. I drove from Dearborn because I wanted to stand in store for a while and see if I got a splitting headache from the fragrances. The tragedy of my life is that I love scented product and perfumes, but I'm usually badly allergic. But not Lush items! And take it from me, that store was pretty damn smelly. Although the items are pricey, they truly are handmade and of high quality as well as being non-synthetic enough to prevent headaches. I can't speak to the lasting nature of their soaps and whatnot yet, since I only made my purchases today, but I just took a shower and their solid shampoos are AMAZING. I also love their Champagne Snow Showers solid perfume. I didn't buy any bath bombs (their signature product, apparently) because I'm really not much of a bath person (No bathtub, even clean enough for surgery, could ever tempt me to sit my bare patooty on it) but I'm strongly considering going back to get some while their killer sale is still on -- if Lush is making me reconsider my bath heebies, it must be good. read more

I walked in just looking for some information on potential products to clear up some back acne and walked out feeling more rejuvenated than ever. The sales associate Olive was able to help my boyfriend and me with so much more than just that. We went on October 20th and we were serviced with demos and with samples. I have been going here for years and everytime I leave with a smile. You can tell when a company is good to their employees and Lush seems to be that kind of company. No matter the turnover or whom is working, every employee gives the same degree of excellent service and are very knowledgeable about the products. Every. Single. One. For an anecdotal example; yesterday I ran into Sephora to use a coupon on a foundation I use. They were out of it and couldn't give me a raincheck. Whatever, I am easy going. The store was closing in a little bit and the employees were goofing off, ignoring customers, and clearly anxious to close up. I raced over to Lush to pick up some soap 9 minutes before closing. When I entered both workers were restocking. However, they both cheering greeted me and helped me find the perfect soap, even suggesting different ones for different skin types or times that I shower. They both heartily wished me a goodnight, not rushing me even though I was that annoying customer that enters right before closing. I mean, the Lush products are all obviously great and amazing. But what I really like is that it is a freaking JOY to shop there. And that is all thanks to the staff. read more

Ok...here's my story with Lush. I used to love Lush and became very familiar with the products when I was living in Europe 2002-2003. When I moved back, there were no Lush stores in Michigan. The closest one was in Chicago, which I would never visit, and stores in Canada. Before Lush hit Detroit, I did visit the Ottawa, Phoenix and Windsor locations. I considered myself quite familiar with most Lush products. When Lush was not readily available, it was a real treat! When Lush first arrived to Somerset, I was really excited. Finally, I could get my Lush fix! And soon after Lush arrived in Novi Macy's and the new wing of Twelve Oaks Mall. I would go betwen either Novi location. When they first opened, I found staff to be quite helpful and the products to be fresh. As time goes on, the products look grosser and nastier. The problem with them is that most sit out, unpackaged, so people touch them, smell them, etc. As I think about, the idea of using a bath bomb or soap that may have been touched by the general public or even employees kind of skeevs me out. Secondly, I have noticed that customer service has kind of gone down hill. Maybe because I'm familiar with the products or maybe because they are experiencing increased pressured to sell...but I always feel kind of attacked in the store. "OMG...have you tired Lush before!??!!?" "You have try this!!!" "We are so amazing!!!11!!Eleventy!!11!" Its too much now. I just walk by their counter at Macy's now and they still try get you over to smell their stuff. No thank you! I can smell it from miles away! Don't get me wrong, I love their scents and some products. But what really has turned me off is how pushy some sales advisors have gotten and how Lush crazed they seem to be. I understand loving the company you work for but it seems like those girls (and boys) join into a Lush cult! (Lol..but seriously..) Even recently, I went to an event that had a Lush table set up with Novi location girls selling and demo-ing the products. Even at that event, they seemed pushy and trying to sell products to me from across the room. It was just unwelcome and to the point of nausea. So the only redeeming quality of Novi Lush locations are the some of the scents and products. Will I buy stuff from website if I really have a craving for some Honey scented bath stuff but that's about it. So...if you are unfamiliar with their products, it may be nice to go into the store and smell around but if you are a true Lush user, with a calmer disposition, you may better enjoy the online shopping experience vs the in store barrage of Lush overjoy and overkill. read more

Tried everything...dermatologist: check. esthetician: check. expensive department store brands: check. cheap stuff from CVS: check. See where I'm going with this? So I stumbled into Lush one day while trolling the mall for a pair of thigh high boots and spent about an hour in there playing with products. The staff was helpful and fun and they were even so kind as to make up samples of some products so I could try them. I've been to both the stand alone Lush store and the store in Macy's. They have the same staff. Savannah is my girl! So here is my problem skin prescription from Lush: Herbalism, Ocean Salt, Vanishing Cream. Now of course, I didn't stop there. I had to buy more. The Rub Rub Rub body wash is gritty and smells fantastic. It's citrusy and floral all at the same time. I also got the Coolaulin coconut conditioner. It makes my hair smell like Hawaii. Most times I get an insane headache from scented products, so far not the case at all with Lush. I'm a newbie to a lot of their huge selection but so far I adore the soft richness that doesn't dry my skin out and my new favorite product is the Blond soap hair bar. It's so much kinder to my tresses than any shampoo I've ever used. Yes they are a bit pricey but so far nary a complaint because they also last quite awhile. Oh Lush how I am addicted to you. This is a great place to pick up Fresh handmade cosmetics, (as per their slogan). If you have never tried any of their products I suggest doing so. Their most famous are the bath bombs but sadly I am more of a shower person. So grab a Sugar babe scrub ! The prices are quite reasonable for most of their products. Many of them come without packing so that cuts the cost and their carbon foot print which is great. Also they have great face products form their face cleansers to moisturizers. The staff at this location is also very friendly, they are not overly aggressive in trying to get you to buy things like other locations can be. Try them out! read more

This was my first time at a lush store. I have heard great things about the brand but when I came in I was honestly a little overwhelmed. Right away I was greeted with a smile which is so nice because most cosmetic companies are not known for their customer service. Well this sweet girl introduced me to everything they had in the store. She payed attention to my preferences and after about an hour of talking I got a perfume, a bath bomb, and a hair treatment. This was such an amazing experience. All of the products I got worked so well and the customer service went above and beyond. I highly recommend this brand and this location. Called the Novi store for a product that was sold out online. They had in the store and offered to hold for 24 hours. Went to pick up the next day and was told that a seasonal staff must have sold the item on hold. They offered me another purchase option saying the sample product was in the package and was close to the same size. If you consider the sample is less than half the size similar....I found that misleading. I declined and was given the free sample size then and put on a waiting list. Did receive a call the following week that the product was back in stock and held for me, which I declined after finding it at Somerset. The Novi manager did try, but after seeing the Somerset store, there is a difference in competence in staff. read more
