The lady up front greeted us right away. We were early, and we had to wait a half hour to go back. If you're shy this message is not for you. You are covered with a small towel and the women actually climb on top of you at points and that towel wasn't always covering everything. Luckily I am not shy but this would have been awkward for some. About 15 minutes in a TV went on really loud for a half an hour. There was a kid in the front when we left so maybe it was him? I got a pretty good deal on Groupon. Now I know why. This was a bit of an experience for me. I'm used to being in a private room with sheets to cover me. These little areas are just separated by curtains and you get to put a weird little towel thing around you. It's very hard to communicate with anyone here. My person was hurting me, so when I would jerk away he would just laugh a little awkwardly and ask, "okay?" I'd tell him it was too hard or too much. I felt like I had a lot of elbow action that was rough. Then at one point he was using his fingernails to scratch my scalp. I really didn't know what that was about. I wanted to tell him to stop, but I wasn't sure if maybe I should let him? I was pretty baffled with that. It didn't feel good at all. It just felt strange. I can see what other reviewers were talking about. You can hear the person next to you. Your masseuse does follow you up to the front and kind of hawk-eye until you're done tipping. We had a weird, mixed experience here. Bought two Groupons for couples 60 min. massage and made the appointment for 11:30 am. I was running five minutes late because of a prior appointment, and while I was driving there, they called me at 11:30 on the dot. It turns out the aggressive woman on the phone was even more formidable IRL. She strode up to me and held her hand out for the Groupons. I fumbled with my phone as she continued to stand there, palm up. The other pair was ushered in right away, but me and my other friend were told to wait. Nooo problem. We chatted a little, but the front desk lady snapped, "NO TALKING. TOO LOUD." And we were stunned into an uncomfortable silence. Luckily, things got better after we were led to our room. The masseuses were totally silent (kind of weird) but skillful. There were some points where I wanted them to apply more pressure, but overall I thought it was well done. The hot stones were very relaxing, and they give you the full head to toe experience! My friend did not like it because she said she kept on tensing up and had to suppress the urge to laugh, but I basically fell asleep for half the time because it was so calming. They took the whole hour and din't skimp on time. Upon leaving, I noted that the tipping sign emphasized that the tip was NOT mandatory, but I just gave the $10 anyway to avoid further confrontation with the aggro front desk lady. The facility was very clean as well as the restroom with was very nicely done. We were taken to our room and told what to do. Overall the massage was well done. They massaged feet, legs, arms, hands, back, neck, shoulders, face and scalp. They also did a foot soak as well. they did have a female and male masseuse for both of us. The people working we're very kind and the receptionist spoke English which is very accommodating at facilities like us. The level of noise was fairly low and if someone began to talk in another room our masseuses would tell them to quiet down to ensure that the experience was calming and relaxing. The hot stones were used in a way I had not seen before but it was very enjoyable and they were not too hot to where you felt that they were going to burn your skin. Came for a couple's massage (Groupon). It was very weird... they basically force you to be naked lol. I had a towel over me but the guy said it wasn't on right because it had to be open in the back, and somehow I wasn't covered for parts of the massage. Also the girl working on my boyfriend yanked his underwear off midway. It was very uncomfortable to say the least. There was little to no pressure during the massage. Barely any kneading. They basically just rub oil on you. They put scalding hot stones at one point, which sadly was the highlight of the whole thing. My knots actually felt worse coming out of it. Afterwards, they will pressure you to give more tip money. My boyfriend handed them cash and they awkwardly looked at the receptionist who told him to pay more ($20 recommended). Found this spa through a 3rd party organization, should have read the reviews before locking in on the purchase. The massage was alright, but the management was terrible. As you may read in other reviews, the owners are rigid in their stance about the gratuity being mandatory (See reference as it is not mandatory by California State Law). I would give a 2-3 star rating for the service that was provided, but what really makes it deserving of 1 star is that the owners harassed us when we attempted to leave without paying gratuity. Mind you, I attempt to remain mindful of service workers when I tip. I was repulsed by the thought of giving money to someone who acted so greedy and entitled.
