I've always understood that this is not a traditional private massage-room setup. There is a larger room with two beds on each side, separated by a curtain. Normally, when you come in alone, you have that side of the room to yourself. I've always been completely fine with that, especially considering a 90-minute massage is only $65. Today was completely different. When I was taken back, there was a folding partition placed immediately next to my massage bed. I asked whether someone else was going to be in the room with me, and because the employee spoke very little English, it was difficult to get a clear answer. Then another client was brought in and placed on the other side of that small partition, literally right next to me. I was extremely uncomfortable with this. During a massage, clients are undressed and in a vulnerable position. A small folding divider between two massage tables placed right next to each other is not an acceptable level of privacy. Had I been told when I booked or when I arrived that I would be sharing such a small space with another client, I would not have agreed to the massage. I'm also a licensed aesthetician and work in an industry where people are paying not only for a service, but to feel comfortable, respected, and cared for. I would never put one of my clients in a situation like this without explaining it beforehand and getting their consent. What makes this especially disappointing is that I've supported this business and referred multiple people here. I understand that the prices are inexpensive and I have never expected a luxury spa experience. But inexpensive does not mean that basic privacy and consideration should be sacrificed. Unfortunately, the way this was handled today was disrespectful and completely changed the way I feel about a place I had previously been comfortable recommending.

I find this to be so disrespectful to clients and such a lack of respect for my time.

Tonight I saw Tresca, and I left in a total daze. I cannot remember the last time I felt so physically relaxed. I am pretty sure I fell asleep in the session and I can't remember the last time that's happened either. Tresca offered pain relief and in a way that was so calming my entire system settled- and that is beyond amazing to and for me, I am very grateful. I love the north Scottsdale location of the NOW- from the moment you walk in, the scent starts working on your mood and the sounds of the ocean in the treatment area drowns out the noise. There are several amazing therapists there and I'm so glad I can add Tresca to the list.

The complimentary massage was with Trang, who did a fantastic job. It was clear that she was talented and paid attention to my areas of focus/concern. I am changing my overall rating to 4/5 due to the hassle and frustration I originally had to deal with. That said, management and ownership did the right thing. Bad experiences (or just bad fits) can happen, but the difference between a good business and a bad one is what management and ownership do to address those issues. 5 stars to management and ownership, 5 stars to Trang, and 4 stars overall given my specific experience. I can comfortably recommend this location, as long as you are willing to speak up if you don't get what you deserve. After my first experience, I would not have considered this location in the future.
