My therapist was 15 minutes late and I got ripped off of my full 50 minutes. She was rushed and harried and my experience was average at best. I got ripped off 10 minutes of massage time and when I went to pay I was NOT GIVEN A BREAK ON THE PRICE! I was told they don't compensate on the price even though I was early for my appointment and the therapist was late. This is what franchise massage is - an overpriced rip off. I wanted to schedule a relaxing Sunday morning with my mom, who I came to visit for a weekend, so I requested two time slots for Sunday (at 10:00am and 11:00am) early on Saturday morning, and was told I would be contacted later in the day. I didn't get a call until 7:40pm only to tell me that they had no openings and to try somewhere else. I fail to understand why I would not be contacted earlier in order to make alternate plans. Not my first time at massage envy and I'm sure it won't be my last. I received this massage as a Christmas gift and finally able to use it. I honestly don't care if a male or female does it even after all the news buzz about this company. This time around, Greg was my masseuse and he did amazing job. I like deep tissue and not to hold back and he did just that. Sitting in a chair staring at a computer all day does take a toll. Thank you Joyce for recommending Carlos. I needed deep tissue for my shoulders and back. Carlos provided immediate relief, and does both deep tissue and Thai style massage. The give a great discount for first time visitors $55. Better still you can join and get a monthly message for $65 at any location. This is a great business model, because Massage Envy are franchise businesses locally owned, but available nationwide. After reading some of the negative reviews, I started to have second thoughts about coming here. I'm glad that I gave them a chance! I asked for a deep tissue massage, and asked if they had someone who could do it right. They assigned Brittany to me, and she did an outstanding job! I go at least once a month back in San Diego to maintain my chronic back and neck pain, so it was a relief to have my tight muscles properly worked out. She took time to ask me about my problem areas, and she made recommendations to help keep my muscles in tune and pain-free. The front desk people were really friendly. Christy helped me out, and after she explained the membership program I decided to join up. It's a big cost savings to me (they even have a military discount), and it made sense. Management is terrible. I booked a 90 minute facial from 5:30-7:00pm. I got a call when I was on my way that they would need to push my appt to 5:45 so my facialist could sanitize the room. I started my facial at 5:45 and when I came out to pay, I realized it was only 6:55pm. I asked the receptionist if I had booked a 60 minute instead of a 90 minute, because it made no sense that I was already done. She said I did indeed book a 90 minute, so when I pressed to ask her why I was done 20 minutes early they looked at me like a deer in headlights. A woman went to talk to the facialist and she said she starts the timer when I go into the room, but still didn't add up. I was done early even if I would have started at 5:30! They refused to let me pay for only 60 minutes since I booked a 90 minute. Makes no sense whatsoever- I paid for 90 minutes of service and got 70. They didn't even offer to continue the facial for 20 minutes, or give me a credit. I will never be returning - terrible customer service. And the facial was nothing to write home about. read more

We recently made a reservation for two massages on Saturday at 1030am. When we made the rez, the receptionist was very sweet and did her best to accommodate our preferences. She did ask for a credit card, but my husband was leary as this was our first experience with Massage Envy. To our suprise, 2 hours before our scheduled appointments, a condescending receptionist called to coarsely INFORM us that our massages had been canceled and given to a member because we did not leave a credit card on file. Her attitude was like "this is what you get" clearly enjoying her imposed punishment. We understand the difficult balance between customer service and enforcing a policy so a suggestion to management might be to instruct the staff to contact the existing reservation and explain the situation and secure a credit card at that point or cancel the reservation. I am a member in Ohio and as a frequent traveler over the years, I've had the opportunity to visit many Massage Envy locations across the US. This is BY FAR THE BEST location I have visited to date. It is conveniently located, the staff was attentive, friendly and courteous, and the services I received were among the best facial and massage I've have received anywhere. I'm not going to lie, I was hesitant to visit this ME given the reviews posted and the myriad of local choices and locations. I'm glad I gave them a chance, Massage Envy Stuart has earned my trust and business! This review is specific to my experience with Karen Ramm who does facials at massage envy. I have had nothing but excellent sessions with her. Before she moved to Massage Envy I would get facials from her at a salon in Palm City. I always enjoyed the experience but now that she has joined Massage Envy, my facials are even more enjoyable. The rooms for facials are very nicely appointed. The bed is heated and there is a nice selection of music to listen to. Karen is excellent with extractions and has a gentle touch. The products they use are top quality. Treatments are tailored specifically to my skin condition. The staff at this location are also very friendly and polite. I have a massage therapist that I am loyal to who works at Harbour Ridge so I have not explored the massage aspect of this business. I suspect they do an equally good job with that type of treatment. There is parking at this location. The lot is quite busy but I have not had trouble finding a spot. I also think the prices are very fair and there are many ways to save money and/or receive added bonuses which the staff explained to me. read more

My Massage was very mediocre. I wouldn't come back to this location because of poor management skills. My sister had an extremely horrible massage and we told management about the therapist. Management said they would contact us back and never called. We even called for a follow up after a couple days of no reply. We were told yet again management would call, but to no avail there was no call back from management. All in all this establishment receives 1 star because poor management is what really infuriates me when all I want to do is relax. I was training for my first marathon and getting massages was recommended to me by my training coach. I started going to the studio in Stuart and the massage were nice enough. I signed up for the membership because the girl at the counter said if I didn't sign up after my first visit I wouldn't be able to get the discounts and I couldn't sign up in the future. I asked if there was a penalty if I wanted to cancel my membership before the year was up. She said no, I would just need to fill out some paperwork and it would be fine. I hurt my knee training for the marathon and can't compete in the race. I went into the Stuart location to cancel my membership because I will have a lot of medical bill coming and I can no longer afford the massages. The girl at the studio said it would be fine to cancel. She said I just had to pay for 1 more visit because it takes 30 days to cancel. Today I had the manager, Val, call and tell me the only way I can cancel is to give them a doctor's note saying I medically cannot get massages anymore. I told her what the other two employees had told me, but the manager would not honor what they said. I told her I can't afford the massages anymore but she said there was nothing she could do. She transferred me to the girl I spoke to before and she couldn't explain why I was being told different information now from what I was told before. Val finally came back on the phone and said she'd have to talk to the owner and get back to me. I worked in retail and customer service for years. Whenever there was an issue with a customer or a misunderstanding of store policy, I always worked to help the customer as much as I could and very often overrode store policy. Any manager has the power and ability to do that. I have just finished reading pages and pages of other bad reviews from customers who also had trouble cancelling their memberships. I would think if there are this many bad reviews the studio would reevaluate the store policy and their customer service. I will never again go to a Massage Envy studio and I will share my story on every review board I can find. This is rediculous. read more

I had my second massage EVER here due to a recommendation from a friend... I was anxious about coming in because of my last experience at another place... From the front desk ladies, to the "quiet zone," to the actual massage IT WAS FANTASTIC. I don't take reviews lightly as I am a director of marketing myself and I always notice things I would change or suggest to improve... but i must say, the girls were all very kind and professional. the massage was so-so. Therapist was not attentive to my needs. I said my right hip was hurting - she never focused on the hip until the last few minutes and did a few light sweeps. I wasted my time. I usually go to a private massage therapist and pay about $75 for the hour and get a real therapeutic massage that helps my pain. I was being frugal when I decided to try massage envy and feel as though I wasted my money. Also, they pressure you into leaving a heavy tip on top of the $49. read more

I have a massage envy membership in another state and as a treat sent my daughter in for a 2 hour massage down in Stuart. The person who was to give her massage started 20 min late and quit at the normal 10 min time as to when her schedule finish time was. So she was shorted 20 min out of her massage. She was also informed that there was a mandatory $35 tip. I have never heard of a mandatory tip at a massage envy and to be mandated to tip for a shortened massage time? I think not! I will not be sending her back there again and will use the one over in Palm City instead. read more

You need stress relief after dealing with miscommunications at this location in Stuart Fl. Came on time , had to wait for them to sort rooms to therapists for 15 minutes. Embrassed for my guests I paid for in advance , we had to wait another half hour to sort why they took my daughter late and dismissed her early for total two services. For Valentine's Day, I bought my husband a gift card for a massage. Two of my friends discouraged me from going to ME, but I was assured by the front-desk staff that no hard-sell or promotional offers would be directed toward my husband when he came to the store--he would simply be given a massage. When he visited the store, the staff refused to schedule an appointment for him unless he gave a phone number and email address. He said he preferred not to provide either, so they said he could not make an appointment. Between the two of us, we have made 4 trips to the store, talked to the manager, called the National Customer Service number to discuss getting a refund since they will not honor the gift card. Neither of us have ever been treated so rudely in our lives. Obviously, customer satisfaction is less important than a phone number and email. Although we are now retired and on a fixed income, we both were in professions where customer satisfaction was #1. What was intended to be a relaxing and enjoyable time for my husband has resulted in stressful and frustrating experience--not to mention the loss of a considerable amount of money--at least to us. No, we don't want to buy any of their products (as was suggested because we don't have to provide a phone number). No, we don't want to go to a different location (the policy is the same among all stores). My husband just wanted a massage. It's too bad ME won't schedule an appointment. I hope they enjoy receiving our money for no service rendered. read more
