I've been to the Rotunda Massage Envy a few times. It's located within The Rotunda complex, near the Icon residences leasing office. Before my appointment, I got courtesy appointment reminder text messages and calls. These were very helpful reminders. The front desk staff at Massage Envy are usually helpful and friendly. They've helped explain different add-on services to me in the past and personalized services that fit my needs. The first time I was here, they also showed me where the waiting area is. They have a Meditation Room/ Waiting Area for guest to hang out in before their appointments. There's a complimentary water station and a TV that plays different promotions and services they offer. There are a few Himalayan Salt Stone diffusers around. As well as pamphlets of different "Wellness Add-On/ Enhancements" for massage or skincare sessions. I found these helpful to browse over before the start of my session. For my most recent massage appointment, LOVE was my massage therapist. She is SUPER DUPER AWESOME!!! I really liked that she brought me back to the massage room promptly at my appointment time and not minutes after. She has a very calming demeanor that helps to make the whole process more relaxing and chill. She took the time to go over the details in my chart (I run hot and prefer the warmer on the table to be turned off) and addressed my main concerns for the massage. I take the time to book my appointment weeks in advance. I think that extra time she took before the session to prepare really showed her commitment to making my session that much more beneficial! :) I really appreciated that. I opted to try the Rapid Tension Release (RTR) percussion massage device "Wellness Add-On/ Massage Enhancement" for the first time as I was given a complimentary massage add-on. LOVE took the time to explain RTR things to me before and during the session. I really liked this experience! I felt like the RTR really helped to target the muscle tension I had. They use the Theragun Prime Plus device (retails for $400), so a $15 add-on is a deal! Afterwards, I felt like I was floating on a fluffy cloud! Sooo relaxed and stress-free. My joints and muscles felt flexible and bouncy, springy like a rubber band :) LOVE is such a great massage therapist and she's really good at her job! She skillfully targeted my problem areas to make them not problems anymore! Haha. THANK YOU SO MUCH LOVE! :D I checked in with front desk after my appointment and they were training a new person. She asked me how I was paying for my RTR add on. The day before my massage session, I had discussed through text messages with someone to confirm that I still had a complimentary add-on and that I wanted to add the RTR. Stay away. I was a member for over a year due to difficulty cancelling. During that time, I went solely to the Rotunda location. Only 1 good massage therapist was there the entire time. She's great but she's also booked months in advance. All the others who were any good have left after anywhere from 1 week to 1 month. Who stays? People who wouldn't survive on their own bc they aren't any good. Also half the counter staff is on some weird power trip because they think they are in a position to judge(?). The pros of Massage Envy are that you won't get assaulted and if you're desperate for just any sort of massage, you can probably book within a couple days. And you MIGHT get someone good. I saw Ingrid this morning and got above and beyond service! She helped with my pain but was also educational and made sure I was comfortable the whole way. It was a surprise as I only went for a general, relaxing massage to destress and help with some leg pain, and I got an answer to my pain that I didn't even know I was asking. I am very grateful for Ingrid and can't wait to see her again in a few months! I was greeted at the door too and shown water and bathrooms and was a pretty relaxing environment and easy to check in! Four stars because I think it could be a bit tidier. The massage table was neat and had clean linens, and Ingrid and the team washed their hands and used hand sanitizer etc, but the floors were noticeably covered in dust balls. I have had a membership at massage envy-white marsh for years. I wasn't able to get in at white marsh but rotunda had an opening so I decided to go there for a facial. BIG mistake. HUGE! I had a facial with Terrelle who was overall kind but then added SEVERAL upgrades without informing me there were additional fees for these. When I got to the front desk, I complained about the additional costs and was told they "would be taken care of". Little did I know they "took care of" the additional fees by using an ADDITIONAL CREDIT from my account WITHOUT INFORMING ME. When I found out about this I called and spoke to the manager Tylia who was extremely rude to me and then HUNG UP. suffice it to say I will NEVER return to this massage envy again. Came in to treat pain in my shoulder and asked for a one hour deep tissue massage just in that one spot. 1 hr and over $100 later I left with a gentle full body massage that did absolutely nothing for the pain I was trying to cope with. I'd just kept waiting for the masseur to start working on what needed to be worked on. Never happened, and never again. read more

I've said the same thing in a few other Massage Envy reviews. That is ...: if you've been to one you've been to all of them. No zen, none of the studios are big on making the place looks or feel nice, so the rooms are basic rooms with white walls, a bottle of lotions and now hand sanitizer! I booked an appointment and was called and told it was cancelled due to poor weather, I got Upset with them asking why when the appointment wasn't too far away and it was actually sunny outside...? The person who called repeatedly cut me off and interrupted me and don't hear a single thing I had to say. After, the manager called me back berating me for getting snarky with the front desk person who started off with a. Snarky attitude. W After getting upset and realizing I was getting nowhere with their rude front desk person and their manager I just hung up. The mama her proceeded to harass me and call me multiple times, but left no voicemail. I went to another massage envy in the next town over and was given great service that same day (still hadn't snowed the entire time) during and after my massage. Today I booked at this location after not trying to go there for months, simply because it's close to my house. Well, apparently I double booked, they called me 45 mins AFTER the supposed first booking tell me I was late, she then proceeded to raise her voice and yell at me over the phone not to bother showing up because I'm banned from that location and they're cancelling my second appointment and then charging me for that one as well. Excuse me? When? I wasn't told this? I wasn't! If the manager had banned don't you think he should have left a voicemail? He didn't! Also why am I lying for not one, but TWO massage I didn't get? After filing a complaint the owner reached out to me and basically told me I was going to be charged for one and that she's entitled to take my money and ban me. I haven't physically set foot in here and I'm banned and I'm paying for a service I didn't get?! What kind of business thinks they can get a way that? They can't! That's why I'm writing this review. Now that I'm fully vaccinated, I decided to treat myself to a massage because of the stressfully few months I'd had. I haven't found a regular massage therapist yet, and decided to try Massage Envy because I had heard good things from my husband's co-worker who goes to the Glen Burnie location. With regards to safety, everything as great - they sent a questionnaire in advance, everyone was masked up and it seemed like there was precautions for social distancing in place (there was no one else that I saw there when I got there). I was a little confused about parking - they sent a message saying that customers should use the parking garage in the Rotunda, but I wasn't able to easily figure it out. The lady at the front desk explained it to me when I checked in, but I didn't want to loose time trying to figure out how to get there and walk back. I decided to take my chances and park in the 45 minute parking spot with hopes that it wouldn't be towed. The massage therapist was nice and did clarify what areas I wanted her to focus on. The massage itself however, was a little disappointing. I understand there's only so much you can do in 60 minutes, and she did spend time on all the parts that I had marked on the intake questionnaire online, but I didn't walk away feeling refreshed and relaxed like I usually do after a massage and my back has still been feeling a little sore/knotted these past few days. I did notice that there was an iPad that had a timer on it, so I appreciate that she took the full time to complete the massage, I just wish I had enjoyed the experience and that my body felt better after it. They only charged me $70 for the 60-minute massage - it seemed to be a perk to get you to sign up for their membership. Because I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped, I don't think I'll be signing up for a membership or coming back here, but I appreciated the discount as a first-time customer. read more

Whatever you do, do not sign a membership contract with them. It's impossible to get out of and definitely not worth the money. I'm certain I've lost money on the membership. They charge you fees to "freeze" your membership, even during COVID. There are also limitations to how many accrued massage credits can be transferred per month, and, of course they charge you to make the transfer. Even if you are wanting to use accrued massages yourself, they have such limited availability of therapists that it's difficult to schedule. I had to schedule massages over a month out to make sure I could use my credits! Finally, the portal is awful. I found it impossible to book through the portal and there's no way to see how many credits are on your account. I will say that the therapists I have seen there have been wonderful and lovely. The massages and facials have been great. This one star review is for the management and corporation of ME, which is just terrible. Finally, in talking to some of the people who work there, they have said that it's a terrible place to work. They're under paid and treated poorly. STAY AWAY AND USE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE! read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT sign a contract with Massage Envy. There is no way to get out of it and the massages that you pay for monthly cannot be gifted to family members without a fee and when you cancel you have a very limited amount of time to use up you accrued massages that you PAID for before they disappear. You really should be able to break a contact for MASSAGES if something comes up like oh you know COVID. They allowed you to "freeze" but of course not cancel. You would be far better going to a high end massage place than essentially the subway of massages. read more

The massage was gifted to me by my partner.. A female masseuse was requested at booking. When I arrived, I was shown to the waiting area and checked in. I waited maybe 15-20 minutes and then may masseuse appeared.. It was a male! Not a deal breaker, just a bit disappointing.. What if my request was for a reason?? Essentially, they said, "you'll get what we give you" (lol). I was shown to the room and told to take off "as much as i felt comfortable removing"... I usually like to build rapport with my masseuse before bearing it all and since this was my first visit, I decided to strip down to my sport bra and shorts". The masseuse returned to the room, reviewed my service plan, made some suggestions and proceeded to begin services...He made reference to my bra at least 10x. Something about how most people take them off and it being a barrier to service . He then went on to say that he'd have to alter his technique and perform a "Thai Massage" due to my sports bra and shorts... BRUH!! And if that wasn't enough, he suggested that he's seen enough nude bodies to not be bothered by them. He performed a really weird maneuver on my back, which consisted of him scrubbing his forearm across my back. Keep in mind his forearms looked like Chewbacca!!!! I kinda felt as if I'd been run through a car wash, DRY! The gentleman WAS VERY CHATTY!! I didn't want to be rude and ask him to zip it but, I WAS THINKING IT... Especially after listening to him rant on and on about the clothes I CHOSE to keep on, after being told to "take off as much as i feel comfortable".. After spending so much time covering superficial areas, by the time he made it to the areas I wanted the most attention to be paid, MY TIME WAS UP.. I've had mall massages that were better... Lackluster professionalism! They do no accommodate clients or extend grace to clients/customers. I recently relocated to Baltimore from Miami/Ft. Lauderdale. I booked a massage at the rotunda. They sent me a confusing text message and I mistakenly thought my appointment was at 6pm. I called and spoke to Aaliyah and a manager name Terrell. Initially, I asked why no one called me to remind me of the appointment or call me this morning to remind me that my appointment was was 830 am. They informed that they do not call. They literally wanted until the 90 minute appointment was over to cancel my appointment. No one called my phone number this morning even to see if I was coming. I've been a member of massage envy since 2016 and have left numerous high dollar tips for massage therapist. I can just recently canceled my Membership with the Miami location because I wanted to join the one at the rotunda! Glad this location showed me their hand early on. I will not join the locations ever because they fail or even attempt to rectify this matter. Then the manager gave me the number to the corporate office which is closed on a Saturday. I didn't receive an email confirming my appointment so I DROVE to the location two days before to confirm. Front desk person says I was on the schedule. I DRIVE there again just now only to be told: YOU'RE NOT ON THE SCHEDULE. No apologies, no attempts to fit me in. Just nothing except well do you now want to schedule for another day? This is after two wasted trips. Avoid this Massage Envy location at the Rotunda like the plague. Read other reviews on Google. I want to the area today for the first time and they were charging me $100 for one hour and when my turn came, they told me that they were going to talk for the first 10 minutes and charge me $100 for 50 minutes which is absolutely ridiculous. I do not appreciate the information they gave me which was incorrect. This is a nice location. Customer service is great. I was greeted at the door immediately which says a lot. I made an appt for a customized facial. It was my first facial but I had an idea on what to expect since I had done research. My esthetician was good. She was nice and gentle. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because her hands were ice cold ! Lol I normally wouldn't care about stuff like that but It's been brick cold all week and at times it was a bit distracting. I didn't tell her because I figured there was nothing she could do about it. Some people naturally have cold hands. Even after running the hot towel on my face her hands were still cold. I had such an amazing experience today at Massage Envy. They opened in September in the Rotunda. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly and smiling faces ready to get me acquainted with the location. Upon signing in I was then escorted to a private assessment area where I spoke with one of the assistance and filled out a questionnaire regarding my history and what I wanted in terms of service. The room was well lit and had fresh water and tea for me to sip while I waited for my therapist. After relaxing, I met with my massage therapist Janell, Who escorted me to the massage room. She made me feel extremely comfortable and the massage pressure was just right. The full body massage lasted for a hour and I felt completely renewed. I will definitely be back! First I want to first say my over all experience with this Massage Envy was great. From the very warming greeting as soon as my daughter and I walked in the door. The girl at the desk was very attentive the entire time. We were there for mother daughter spa day filled with facials and massages. We started off my daughter with her facial first and my massage was first. Now I have many massages in my life and I must say this was probably the worst massage i have ever had. Honestly I think the girl is still new and she really has great potential. Since there isn't anywhere to leave feedback on their website and/or when you check out. Hopefully this can get passed along to her. To mine and my daughters massage therapist. First of all thank you so much. Regardless of whether we liked, loved or disliked our massages we thank you. Now for some constructive criticism. Starting with the deep breaths A+, but once you get started in your stroke slow down, moving that fast just ruined what the breathing tech. just put into motion. Also with your strokes finished your strokes, the massage throughout felt very incomplete because for ex.- when you massaged my legs in the back, you stopped less the halfway up my hamstring, this happened throughout the entire massage. Next I love deep pressure but deep pressure doesn't mean you have to be rough. Still pleases be mindful of your elbows, knuckles and anything else pointy on someones bones and especially their spine OUCH! Please keep contact throughout the massage as when someone is in a super relaxed state and you break contact with the body in the middle of a long massage stroke it, it breaks the whole zen feeling again. As for your finishing compression moves on the legs and glutes A+ again. I think you are going to make a great massage therapist. I recently bought the package for a monthly hour long massage and it has been a pretty good deal. Ingrid is my fave masseuse there, and it seems like I'm not the only one because she's booked up weeks ahead of time. My only complaint is that last time I went there (with a different masseuse) she stopped the massage at least 5 minutes early, probably closer to 10. I am a years long Massage Envy member, so this review has more to do with this specific location compared to other locations. Overall, I have found this to be a well run location. The schedulers are friendly and helpful in recommending therapists. So far the massage therapists are the standard good-high quality I expect from Massage Envy. Right before my last massage I managed to torque my shoulder somehow while cleaning the car, and the massage therapist found the spot without me pointing it out or mentioning it and focused the right level of attention on it and resolved the issue completely. However, I think this location really shines in the facial department, the aesthetician during my last visit was one of the best. I will return in the future! read more

I recently visited for the first time as a gift. I was greeted immediately by the manager Yolanda. She was pleasant and very knowledgeable. Running a little late I assumed the service may be compromised, and since it was my fault I wouldn't complain. I was pleasantly surprised that NOTHING was compromised. I completed my intake quickly and got on to a satisfying massage with Latisha. She was a great therapist! Pressure was just right and the spots I needed extra attention were addressed as requested. If you do decide to visit this location and you are in the process of booking over the phone be sure to GET THE NAME OF THE PERSON YOU SPEAK WITH, otherwise there is a good chance the person will not set up your appointment, you will show up for nothing, and they will be all booked up. Then when you are trying to explain what happened no one will be able to help you because you didn't get the name of the person you spoke with. I have been to several other locations and never ran into this problem until I came here, even when dealing with transferring massage credits. Definitely not coming back here. read more

Give serious consideration before you become a member of massage Envy. when I showed up for a massage I booked two weeks in advance, I was told that I wasn't booked and that the mistake was mine. I've attempted to resolve it with the franchise and the corporate office and no one is willing to take responsibility. They told me that I can come in and cancel my membership if I would like, or I can wait another 2 weeks for the the massage that I missed. If this is the type of customer service that you enjoy, massage Envy might be right for you. Otherwise please consider any other massage place. read more

Make sure you plan a few minutes ahead to park in the garage since all the lot parking has a 45 minute max. When I arrived the same person who was registering me was the person I spoke with by phone. She informed me that my masseuse would be a man. I was very upset and she didn't try to resolve the issue only saying I would not be charged. What kind of business is this? I would strongly discourage getting a membership. It is always very difficult to schedule. It's 2019; the fact that you have to call or come into schedule is anachronistic at this point.
