Happy Feet Asian Foot Therapy has two locations. This review is for the Catonsville, Frederick Road location. Happy Feet Catonsville has been a staple for over 10 years at this location. With that said, they have quite the following and you WILL need to make an appointment ahead of time. I randomly came in on a whim after a friend told me that it was the best foot massage she had ever received--she's Asian and literally has been everywhere for all things massage so I got in the car first thing on a Saturday morning and headed straight there for their 10:00 AM door opening. The parking lot is small and was already filled! I was so surprised but walked in and was placed on a waiting list. Since they don't have much room inside, I waited in my car, and they came out to get me when it was my turn. I am SO GLAD I waited. It was intense yet calming. Harsh yet relaxing. Overall, I felt relieved. Since then, reflexology has been one of my favorite services to try out in different areas but honestly, Happy Feet is the BEST. In addition to foot reflexology, they also have hot stones and acupressure point massages for head and back. If you reeeealy like rough, they offer deep tissue too. read more

No frills, no vibes but when getting a foot massage you can easily fall asleep b cause they are good at the massage!! didn't necessarily feel a trigger points activated in my body as I normally would during a foot reflexology massage, but I did enjoy the massage. $45 minutes for 45 bucks! This is a hidden gem and everyone needs to patronize! I was gifted a trip here and OMG they didn't DISAPPOINT! You're greeted as soon as you walk in the door, offered a light snack and water. Once they start your feet are placed in a foot soak for about 10 minutes(loved this). They will adjust the pressure according to your liking but to have someone work on your feet for a while 30 minutes is Devine! Afterwards I felt like I was walking on air as I didn't realize how much stress could be released by a great reflexology session. I can't thank my friend enough for this much needed treat! read more

I get we're all in hard times, but there's absolutely no reason to demand tips from your customers. If you need to adjust your prices, fine. But don't complain to your coworkers in your native language in presence of customers once you are mad about no tips. You were paid in full. This tipping culture is getting out of hand. When I say RUN don't walk to get a happy feet massage. This place isn't luxury at all, but you know what it is? Effective. If you have knots in your back I assure you that the employees at happy feet will work on them tirelessly until your time is up. I have always called ~10 min in advance and been able to get an appointment which is great because this is normally a spontaneous decision. But $50 for 45 minutes of work? You can't deny that it's a great deal. One recommendation is if your back is full of tension (like mine) be prepared to guzzle water afterwards or have flu like symptoms for the next day as the toxins move out of your body. read more

Came here for a 30 minute foot massage. Atmosphere: big room with 3 stations, then a second back room. Considering the price, I wasn't expecting anything more. so that's fine. I also wasn't expecting my masseur to take phone calls while giving me my massage. Quality: For reference, I've had numerous foot massages, including one in Vietnam, so I know what to expect. Without fail, all prior foot massages have had me ask the masseur to reduce pressure. Not this time. This was actually 30 minutes of someone rubbing lotion into my feet. Zero attention to any pressure points (ironic, considering there was a pressure point poster on the wall). Now, having someone rub lotion into your feet for 30 minutes feels "nice" enough, but I am confident that there was zero therapeutic benefit to this experience. read more

My husband booked me a suprise Mother's Day 20min foot message and a 40min back message. So glad he did! Wow, I felt like I went to a true healer! She found problem areas and worked very hard. Let's start with the pros. Came here with my sister and mother for a Mother's Day treat from my father. All three of us were able to get our massages in the same room at the same time. You have the option to spend more time on your feet or back. I opted for 15 minutes of foot massage and 45 minutes of back massage. My masseuse did what she had to do on my back/neck, the area where there was a lot of knots and tension. She put her whole body in applying the right amount of pressure, and focused in on those tight places. I didn't have to pay, but the price list is affordable. Cons: it is a storefront massage parlor facing Frederick Road. Our massage was done out in the front entrance when you walk in with very little privacy, and you can hear the street traffic. There were a few people who walked in to inquire about appointments and gift cards that interrupted the experience. My masseuse also took a few calls while giving me my massage, but she gave me some extra time to make up for the inconvenience. When you are done they don't offer any water or give you time to relax before jumping to the next appointment. For the quality of the massage and price, I would come again. read more

My spine really hurts and it's been 4 hours. The massage was agony. Never going there again. He beat me up and it really hurt the whole time. I asked several times for him to be more gentle and he did not speak English. His female partner told him (or so I thought) in Chinese to be more gentle but he never eased up. He did not do my arms or anything just my actual spine and butt (lots of butt!) and feet. Pain getting worse despite using Aleve and ice packs. NEXT DAY still in agony. He pushed hard on my spine and beat up my back. Crying in pain. Have to go to the doctor tomorrow. read more

Honestly was disappointed in my massage here. It was extremely painful and I'm actually in more pain now than when I arrived! I get massages very frequently, 2-3 times a month for sports injuries. The massage was also unbalanced with too much pressure on my legs and spine, one-sided, not enough on the neck. The man was also sick while massaging me and I'm really hoping I don't catch whatever he had. read more

I honestly don't know how the ratings for this place is so high. I got the couples back massage for 60 minutes, and I'd say they only really massaged my back for half the time. The other half they were doing my legs and arms. I am confused since I asked for a back massage. The massage itself was mediocre and felt like they weren't putting much effort. They didn't apply an lotion to me but they did for my partner. The massages seemed inconsistent and weren't the same at all even though we were right next to each other. I could also feel the worker's leg hair on me and I just felt uncomfortable the whole time. I wish I didn't even go because I didn't feel relaxed at all. As a massage therapist a few door down, i thought i found a nice to relax between clients but i was mistaken. I'd been traveling for business for a few weeks back to back and so was pretty fatigued. I was searching for massage places near my hotel and this was the closest one. It's your standard no-frills Chinese massage place. There was nothing fancy about this place though it was clean overall. It was cheap and full of customers. I got an hour-long massage and honestly, I felt like a new person afterward. The masseuse was male and I explicitly asked for a "strong" (deep tissue) message as I have a pretty high tolerance. Some of my muscles were extremely tense (namely the neck) but he was terrific in working them to the point of relaxation. I was definitely sore the next day but it was worth it. I have been to a few places that are somewhat nicer in look and aroma for the price (in other cities) and that's the only thing keeping this place from getting a 5-star. read more

All massages start with your feet soaking in a wooden bucket and then the massage commences. They do a through massage of both feet and then they flip you over and massage your back. This place is fantastic. You will feel so good afterwards and so relaxed. You will wonder how you survived before coming and and promise yourself to now wait so long before coming back again. An hour long massage is an unbelievable bargain. It starts with a foot soak and while your feet are soaking they massage your arms and shoulders. Once your feet have soaked they work on your feet, ankles, and calfs for a fantastically long time (approx 40 minutes). As the work on one foot/leg and it begins to feel great, I'm always amazed at how the other leg begins to feel "not great" in comparison. It makes you realize that you've been living and dealing with pain/discomfort that has been building up slowly over time.... And you realize that all you had to do is come to Happy Feet and let it all melt away!!!! After they have worked over your feet you lay down and they work on your back for about 10-15 minutes. This includes some pretty deep tissue massage on the back, glutes, I-band and hamstrings. As a person who loves my regular visits to my chiropractor, I find the back massage almost as satisfying as my chiropractic adjustments. One of these days I want to schedule Happy Feet and the Chiropractor on the same day. I might die of relaxation and contented feelings of well being. The ambiance is calm and humble and makes everyone feel at ease and welcome. Looks like the LA trend of foot massages have found its way into Catonsville via Happy Feet Massage. LA boasts of $15, hour long foot massages, but you'll never find that anywhere on the east coast. However, $39 for a 45 min foot massage and 15 minute back rub is better than any deal you'll find in the area. Note that credit cards are accepted, but there'll be a $2-4 surcharge depending on the base price of your massage. At Happy Feet, the masseuses are able to accommodate whatever pressure you are comfortable with. I believe it's run by a Chinese family; they provide information on Chinese pressure points and what each area on the feet signify. The foot massages here put licensed massage therapy establishments to shame. read more

For 40.00 you can get a wonderful foot massage. I opted for 30 mins for foot and 30 mins for back. I didn't want the foot massage to end. I will be returning strictly for the foot massage. Went last week for the first time. Everyone was very very attentive and nice! The only issue was I had taken a friend for a Christmas gift and the lady who was doing his foot massage kept having to answer the phone and also ring people up in the middle of his massage. This happened at least five times. They really need to have someone else answer the phone and ring folks up, I don't think it was fair to him. read more
