Coming into the store, I was having an issue with my account and the staff at the Murfreesboro location went above and beyond to quickly correct the issue in time for both of our appointments. She exhibited exemplary customer service and problem solving skills, which allowed my sister and I to have an amazing experience at Massage Envy Murfreesboro. Additionally, I would like to highlight my therapist Andrew. As a woman, in past experiences I have felt uncomfortable going into a massage with an unfamiliar male therapist. I do not like they do not provide the option of scheduling app online. I absolutely hate that I have to call or schedule for an appointment in-person. I called to schedule for a massage and thought it was on June 29. I called this office on three separate occasions within June to see if any available appointments that week. First week of June, no appointments but was told my name would be added to the waitlist just in case someone canceled and scheduled my massage appointment. Second time, to check availability that week, I mentioned my appointment on "June 29"; rep never correct me on the fact it was scheduled on "June 30" and confirmed my name was never added to the wait list: she added "again". I called on June 28 asking what time is my appointment scheduled on June 29; she said 4:30pm. Received a text on June 29 to confirm my appointment and I didn't look at the date because I actually spoke with someone yesterday. Drove to the facility expecting a massage and was told it's tomorrow June 30. I was so pissed and just wanted to go back to Hand and Stone Massage. At least they have online scheduling and I never had something like this ever happened to me out of 25 years experience with a spa. read more

I had a facial scheduled for 1pm. Morgan B didn't come get me from the serenity room until 7 minutes after my scheduled time to start. We had a 2 minute consultation and then she stepped out for maybe 3 minutes so we are already starting 12 minutes later. She did tell me everything she was doing before and during the process. It did take away from the relaxation but she was informative. She finished at about 55 minutes after the hour which would not have given me a full 50 minutes. Massage Envy is one of the last places I would recommend for a massage. You pay for what you get and I'm sorry to say that $35 for 60 minutes is not going to buy you a quality therapist to perform the massage, much less a quality massage. My husband and I had a couple's massage there once because we were both in need for some TLC, and quickly. One visit is all I needed to have in order to know that I did not need to return. The rooms do not really accommodate a couple, but they squeezed us in there. The therapists that performed our massages were chatting quietly back and forth to us like as if we weren't there and/or wanted a quiet and peaceful massage. This also made me uncomfortable because when you're lying naked before someone, the last thing you want to experience is whispers and giggles. Lastly, after experiencing all that, then the front desk staff try to sell you on an expensive package. I don't think so. read more

Since my initial review, I found an excellent massage therapist who I've been going back to see monthly. Will, a wonderful front-desk employee who is always polite and friendly to me, noted that I preferred to see female therapists and that I used to see Lindsey, who no longer works there. He told me that before she left, Lindsey had left some therapist recommendations for her former clients (I have no idea why all of the previous receptionists I dealt with failed to bring this up before), and after asking me a few questions about the type of massage I prefer suggested I see Allison. She is awesome. Hands-down (no pun intended) the best massage therapist I've seen in years. Whether I get deep-tissue or a more relaxed massage, I feel an immediate difference in my neck and shoulder muscles after seeing her. She's friendly and professional, but even better she remembers the type of pressure I prefer from appointment to appointment. She checks in on me every now and then to make sure I'm comfortable, but not in a way that interrupts the meditative mind-set I tend to go into while getting a massage. Allison is the only reason I am still a member there, and if she leaves I will probably cancel. read more

My husband and I first went to Massage Envy of Murfreesboro about a year ago. I had some serious pain in my neck and right shoulder, and he was working a really labor-intensive shift at work that was jacking up his back. Not being the type of people who like to spend money sitting around in day spas, it took us both being almost completely incapacitated to book our first appointment (which was a couples massage). My first massage was with Courtney. And immediately after, I felt 200% better!! Since my husband was also just as pleased, we both signed up for the year membership. We've now been members for almost 2 years, and don't plan to quit anytime soon. We've each had 10-15 different therapists... And there are some you LOVE, some you don't like as much, and some that you like but they move away or work somewhere else. However, I'm never disappointed! Their therapists are always very knowledgeable. So, I always feel as though I'm being treated by a trained-professional who understands medically what is causing my pain. And for the months when I'm pain-free, it's still just nice to have that break to relax and de-stress. Also, I have always found their front desk staff to be extremely helpful and sweet! We almost never do the couples massage anymore, because we each like to add-on special services like Aromatherapy, Deep-Heat, and the Foot Scrub -- which they don't do in the couples' room. (My guess is that it probably makes the timing and the smells a bit off if you have too much going on in one room.) My favorite is the Aromatherapy! But the Foot Scrub is also a very nice addition for winter. It's an easy thing to add on during your massage that will keep your feet soft between pedicures. Overall, we are pleased customers! And we will be continuing our memberships. read more

I have the lead therapist who is friendly and caring. She is very very good. I have scheduled a year ahead with her because of her expertise and personality. I called to make an app for a couples massage but ended up canceling. The girl on the phone asked me what my name was continuously even though I had told her my name 4 different times. Also, when I asked for times on a certain day but then gave a time on the day before. She just used the date so I assumed it was for the day I asked. Then when I noticed it she said well you confirmed it and then tried to blame me for her mistake. Will definitely not go to this location. Update: So, Massage Envy replied to my post asking me to email them which I did and that they would contact me. Well over a week and NOTHING. Seriously at least follow through. I now have 2 gift cards to a place that are totally useless to me because I will NEVER use them to go to a place that cares so little about how their employees treat new potential customers. I signed up for a membership at the Bellevue location about 2 years ago, and even through a pregnancy - with special "prenatal massage" requests - they were great. Then I moved to Murfreesboro. In the 5 months that I've live here, the Murfreesboro location has managed to reschedule or cancel I think 4 appointments. As an example, my husband bought me a facial+massage for Mother's Day. I knew that since I'm pregnant, it might be a few weeks to a month before they could find the type of massage I needed along with a facial right before, so I expected a wait. I'm reasonable. After 20 minutes on the phone I had an appointment 5 weeks out. A few days before my appointment, they called and said that the facial gal didn't work there anymore and I needed to reschedule, but I could keep my massage appointment. Ok, fine. The day OF my massage, they called and canceled that too. The first week of August I believe was when I was finally was able to redeem my Mother's Day gift. Other than that I've had 1 or 2 experiences where my regular monthly massage was canceled shortly before my appointment. Today was the final straw. I had a massage scheduled at 8:00 pm and was really looking forward to it after a rough week looking after our newborn. I was on the way to a meeting at 1:30 when an employee called and told me I'd have a different massage therapist because my original one had called in. That was fine; as long as it was a female therapist I didn't have a preference. Well, on the way home from my meeting at 4:00, a different employee called and left a voicemail saying that the SECOND therapist had an emergency and that I would have NO massage today. I called back after talking it over with my husband, and the woman on the phone, when I told her I'd just gotten the voicemail, laughed and said she thought it was funny that I called to reschedule when the therapist just happened to be out. Oh well gosh, I'm glad that is funny to you, because it sure as hell isn't funny to me. When I called my old location and asked how to cancel my membership, the nice young lady told me I'd have 30 days to use my 3 built-up massages. I wearily told her that I'm TRYING to use my massages, but the Murfreesboro location won't LET me! Look, I'm a reasonable person. I understand that people call in sick and life happens. However, to be canceled on and rescheduled almost every month is just ridiculous. As you may be able to tell by my story, I have two children under two, and when I schedule a massage, I have to arrange care for them. To interrupt someone else's day/night to help with my kids, and then be canceled on 4 hours before my appointment, that's not acceptable. I'm canceling my membership when I go in for my next massage (if I can ever get one), and I'll be finding another local place to get massages. read more

Employees are extremely unprofessional and should really re-think what they choose to talk about to their co-workers while within earshot of a potential customer. I felt like I was in high school. These are not the kind of people I would expect to be in a "professional" industry such as the medical field. Which leads me to my next point, I don't know of any other professional occupation where tips are expected. While I wish I could recommend the Murfreesboro location, I cannot. My spouse and I joined with them YEARS ago and have cancelled our membership because they have basically oversold their memberships resulting in never being able to schedule an appt at a normal time unless it's 3-4 months out. The staff is pretty great and the therapists are awesome but it's all irrelevant if I can't ever get an appointment. The membership isn't a bad deal but it's no longer inexpensive either. There's no value in paying the same rate as anywhere else charges. read more

After the person I was using for most of my massage appointments decided to leave, I decided to stop my contract for awhile. In the process I had accumulated three one hour credits. I signed an exit form to end my contract when it ran our recently. I had scheduled some appointments with my original masseur, but she left before we could complete appointments. I was called and told I must reschedule. I went in to reschedule about a week after the call. The customer service rep set up three appoints over next few weeks. Today I went in and had the first of these only to learn that the appointments had been scheduled beyond the sixty day period the contract stipulates to use credits. They owed my $180 in services, but told me that I failed to use those services within the sixty days so I lost them. Okay, I didn't read the fine print. But no one mentioned in the whole process that I only had sixty days to use excess. How convenient for their cash coffers. Hardly what I would call customer service. Thus I lost my last two paid for appointments. I feel that a notice of time limit should have been in order, contract or not. I feel they purposely didn't inform me just to allow my time to expire. If you choose to deal with these charlatans WATCH YOUR WALLET. Do not go there!!! read more

I have only had good experiences with Massage Envy. The staff at the desk is always very helpful. I have been a member since they opened. It took me a while to find a regular therapist. Since being a member I have seen 3 therapist regularly, 2 of which no longer work there. Lacey was my regular therapist, but she had to change her hours. If anyone is free during the day Monday-Friday, I highly recommend her. You will need to book your appointment well in advance as she stays booked. I find that is true for most of the therapist. I just hope I can find a new regular therapist there that is good as the previous three have been. read more

This place is the worst! I wish I could give them zero stars!! The staff is not helpful and they are absolutely NOT on the same page with each other! I went in for a deep tissue massage a year ago. When I arrived they told me no one was there to do the deep tissue so I got a sub par massage from one of their techs. I somehow let the girl at the front desk talk me into buying a membership with the promise that they normally had someone on staff to do the deep tissue. I went back one more time and got another awful massage. I paid them monthly for a year without using their services. Two months before my contract was to be up I called to make sure there was nothing I needed to do on my end. I was told when the contract was up it was up. Then I received another bill. When I called to ask why I was told I needed to fill out a form or would continue to be charged. Why wasn't I told this before?? When I told the receptionist about the previous conversation and that we needed to end this contract because I had been paying for services I never used she laughed at me. Awesome.
