I requested a female on the phone and got a male. I booked the 90 minutes but about 5 minutes in I changed to 60 because it was not what I was looking for. It was basically a rub down with oil. He used his forearm and rubbed on my spine, which hurt. I told him that it hurt but he couldn't understand English. Would be willing to try again with a different person. I usually get an hours massage for 70 bucks and tip 20 bucks but on my last visit I handed her a 100 dollar bill expecting change but she just said thanks and walked off Leaving me standing in the lobby. My scheduling usually only leaves time for the late evening to get a massage, so it's great to have a quality place to go to, even when most others are closed for the day. Last night I really needed it extra, as I had pulled something in my lower back/hip/ buttocks area, and almost couldn't walk. Not to mention all the other ligaments throughout my body that are hurting on a regular basis. I asked for Helen, but they said she wasn't there, but the lady that was, did a great job, and to me it felt she was using using focused chi energy mixed in with the massaging itself. I came out much more able to better walk than I went in. I topped it all off when I went home and took a long hot shower with the water focused on the area that had been giving me the walking issues and today woke up being able to walk so much better. The massage really made a big difference to get the most out of the hot shower. I did the 90 min full body massage, which is what I got every other time I went there, and it seems to me the price has dropped significantly since the last time I went(dropped by $40 by my recollection); so I'd recommend getting in there to take advantage of that as well. The atmosphere and vibe is always great there too. The biggest thing that I'd like to change is to be able to communicate fluently in English with all of the staff. One comment I would make is the aroma. The is not much of one. Another comment would be the head rest. I could not relax completely with the head rest so small and tight. It was too hard as well. My door was left cracked when I got up to change. I closed it as soon as I noticed. Last, my lady's hands had a savory scent. I noticed during my face massage. Just a few things to touch up on. I have been all over the West Coast and East Coast, not to mention China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan experiencing foot massages, full body, ginger wraps, etc. I am taking a moment right after my 30 mins to THANK the SAKURA MASSAGE spot for a job well done. He even worked in some Chinese white flower oil that I have had since I was a kid. While the tension in my neck and shoulders is still present, I am more than feeling good and ready for work today. Things get to popping and twisting and it just feels magical lol :-) I've been about 4 different times this year and have always had a great experience. My husband introduced me to this place and I've been hooked ever since. I have recommended Sakura to friends and family. The environment is clean, calm, and relaxing and I love the rice cakes, as a treat. I have now incorporated messages into my self care journey and go every other month. I absolutely love love love going to Michael Z. And just walking in without an appointment. They are open 7 days a week, even on Sunday nights! Hr does a very deep tissue massage on me in the chair. I request it deep. He also does a foot detox soak in hot water for a while, then an excellent foot massage. My muscles feel like butter and my mindnis in pure bliss during and after this!
