Made an appointment for reflexology. She said neck and shoulders for a few minutes. I said "reflexology appointment." She proceeded to do neck and shoulders anyway. WTH? Well not to make a scene. But I didn't want to throw my money away and walk out of the session. However she dwelled on neck and shoulders. The session was 85% neck and shoulders and 15% sole of feet only. No foot rub. No toes. No lower leg. No heel. I mentioned that to her. The provider had a good touch on the feet however I am unhappy with this session because such a small percentage of time was spent providing the service I specifically requested. I was not so happy with that but I did tip the provider. As I was walking out the desk stopped me to charge $12 for the lotion that was used. I was offered 1 of 3 lotions - all with a name. I wasn't informed that there was any additional charge for lotion. By the way. I did bring my own castor oil and they refused to o use it. Stay away from the chains. Go somewhere else. read more

Haven't visited in quite a while but Nicole M will have me returning once a month. She does one of the BEST deep tissue massages I've ever had. This type of massage is recommended by my doctor. Good Afternoon, You need to send help to the Mandeville Branch of Massage Envy. I cancelled my membership at one point after repeated failures to communicate effectively. I went to one massage. They told me I had to pay. I told them I had a credit. They said they took that credit because I had failed to show for an appt. The appt. was in the middle of the school day. I would not have made it. I paid. Then 3 other times I showed up and they told me my appt had been cancelled and that they tried to notify me, but I received no text, calls or voice mail. The final straw was they texted on a Thursday about my Saturday morning appoint. They called on Friday to confirm Sat. appt for 9 a.m. I couldn't make it, so I sent my husband who can use his own points. He gets there at 8:45 only to be told the appt was cancelled and given away because my credit card expired (he had the new one). That was it. My husband kept his account but never goes. I used his credits a couple of times. Things went well. The last time I used his points they talked me into rejoining. I expressed my concerns about communication. A man came out of the office to tell me that they had solved those problems, so it wouldn't happen again. I made an appt in that moment for April 4th and one for my husband with the best masseuse who is hard to get (Ryan). This morning I woke up with intense shoulder pain. We received a text saying they had openings. My husband called and got me an appt at 1 today. I showed up at 12:45. I asked to add rapid tension and muscle enhancement. The receptionist (young, African American, thin wearing an orange bandana) added it. I asked her to change my Wednesday appt. to my husband or daughter. She said we cancelled that appt. At this point this is the exact reason I cancelled the first membership. She said we tried to call. I didn't have a record of a missed call or text. The only text I had from them was all the text they have with opened appoints and confirmation of my Wednesday appt. I pointed out that this was a failure to communicate again and that I would cancel if it continued. I went back to my massage. The clerk said, "Have a nice day," I said, "We will see." Then I went to my massage room with my therapist. I told her I added rapid tension relief. The therapist told me she didn't do that when not 5 minutes before she added it and didn't mention that. I went back to the lobby to point out yet another failure in communication. The therapist said the girl was new. The older person there (long, blondish/white hair) said she wasn't knew. When I say this has been two failures to communicate in one morning. The older lady starts yelling at me telling me I'm being rude and that if they get my voicemail they don't have to leave a message to prove it. I asked how I was rude. She said she heard me. I asked what did I say that was rude. She continued to yell at me, cancel my appt and tell me to leave. I recorded the very end showing that she was not interested in communicating effectively. I think you should close this office as they obviously don't know what they are doing or how to interact appropriately with people. They had texted out that they had lots of openings this week. Maybe that is because of their poor customer service attitude. They are out there representing you. If it were my company, I wouldn't want them operating under my name. Massage Envy - Couples massage - Massage Near Me - Mandeville, Louisiana

I was a full member last year and only booked with one therapist there who was great. I left because of the new management there and how rude she is to everyone. After several months, I decided I would like to give them another try and even thought about signing up for another membership. Again, with the same therapist as before. However, the morning of my massage I had a family emergency that I had to attend to and needed to cancel my appointment. This was two hours in advance, by the way. The proceeded to charge me $120 for cancellation and the lady on the phone when I called to cancel was extremely rude about it as well. I will not be going back there again, nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone else as I have done many, many times before. read more

I don't really understand the negative reviews. Finding a massage therapist that suits your needs is like finding a doctor or hair stylist. Everyone has personal preferences and it takes a bit of work to find the one you like. The front desk is really helpful when you call, letting you know what pressure the therapists available are best with. I've had therapists who I've preferred their personality over others, but I haven't had a single bad massage. The pushing the membership? Massage works best when it's done often, and the cheapest way to do that is absolutely with the membership. You aren't obligated to and everyone at this location has been friendly, courteous, and polite. I can't see any of them even having the personality to pressure anyone. Overall, people complaining about the price? Go find me a place in Mandeville with cheaper massages that hasn't been busted by the cops for illicit activities. This place is great, their cancellation policy is phenomenal, and the staff is awesome. If you can't find a way to make yourself comfortable here, I have a feeling it's not Massage Envy's fault. read more

It has been extremely frustrating and disappointing to pay a monthly fee for a service that has been so hard to get. I have frequently encountered issues with their website and their schedules are always fully booked which makes it impossible to get a massage quickly. Furthermore, I have been last-minute cancelled again and again because one of their massage therapist didn't show up to work and they had nobody to replace them. My experience with Massage Envy has not been a good one. I was told it would get better once the expansion of the Mandeville offices would be complete as more therapists would be hired but I have seen no change. I have cancelled my membership. read more

My MT showed up 18 minutes late. She was rushing which made me feel uncomfortable. She talked the first part of the massage which again I felt like it was a marathon, but at least the second part was a little better. I filled out a paper when I first arrived which asked what parts of my body I was comfortable with being touched and I marked no to my face. I guess since my MT was late she didn't bother reading this as she processed to massage my face. Then, lastly, you are pressured from the time you arrive till you leave to sign up for their membership. Not a great experience overall and will not be returning. read more

One star for unprofessional and false advertising.My husband went to massage envy Mandeville a couple years ago and said the massage therapist talked incessantly throughout the whole massage and was vulgar and crude. I just went back today to give them another chance. I scheduled what they said was a 30 minute back and neck massage. I arrived five minutes early. When I got into the room the therapist said that I actually only get twenty minutes. When it was all said and done the massage was only 18 minutes long. My neck is still tight and tense. I sort of felt like a sell out going from traditional spas to a Massage Envy, but the therapist was worth it! People are generally split between two ideals of massage: the spiritual wellness factor and the make my bod feel better factor. Massage Envy lies on the latter end of the spectrum. The clinic itself leaves a lot to be desired. However, the people there are really nice. The receptionists will do anything for you. They don't event take you're really dumb questions the wrong way. They are extremely helpful and good at their jobs (even the ones who are new and not so good at their jobs :-) Nora is possibly the best massage therapist ever! She understands and knows how to treat TMJ. If you are like me and have spent thousands of dollars trying to treat your TMJ, Nora is where it's at. She's lovely to be around. She's very kind and understanding and has some killer upper body strength. I literally feel like a new person when I leave. Overall--People are awesome, environment=still a Massage Envy (purple walls, crappy ambient music). But I go there for the people, who wouldn't? read more

They wanted to charge me $90 for a one hour massage. This is double what Massage Envy charged in the place I moved here from. I went here once, not that good - sure not worth 90 bucks an hour plus tip. Massage Envy's selling point used to be its affordability. Guess they're done with that angle. read more

Yesterday I got the worst massage I have ever had. I'm not going to put on blast the poor girls name that was the therapist. Because I honestly think it's Massage Envys fault. You should know the level of experience your therapist have. You should be aware of the lack of technic and incompetence. And then when I did inform the front desk of this inadequate experience they offered me a coupon for my next massage at $60! Really you should have given me two free massages to make up for the damage of the first one. Now my knot is still there and my top half of my body can barely move! Well, it seems like every time I go there, there is a group of girls that are just all standing at the front counter staring at me as if I just walked into their homes unannounced. Then there is a massage therapist, who I will only name if asked, that I try to avoid at all cost because even though he gives a great massage, he talks about politics, his drama, and negative things during each sessions. So, One day, when making my appointment on the phone, the receptionist asked who I would prefer, I asked who was available for my time slot, and she told me the two names one being someone that I've never seen and the other being "Mr. Negative Nick". Well, I specifically scheduled my appointment with the guy that I haven't seen before (forgot his name). So when I arrive at the appointment, I was seated in the waiting room, and low and behold, my massage therapist greets me and it's Negative Nick. Well, I said, "Wait, I scheduled my appointment with so and so." all he said was, " Yea and is there a problem?" There was two other people present during the altercation and no one addressed him for his bad attitude, his remark, nor at the fact that my session was not to be with him. I should have questioned them even further but I went ahead, received a massage, and I guess he felt my anger because he was quiet the entire time. I never went back at that location. The Slidell location is no better, the only location that I would recommend is the one in Esplanade, but it sucks when you live on the Northshore and have to drive to the southshore for a half decent experience with Massage Envy. My membership up is in May and this was the worse investment that I've ever did for myself. If you was a great experience, professional massage, then I would spend the extra money and go to places like the Woodhouse or just any place in New Orleans. Massage Envy is like the low end of the pole. You wouldn't just sleep with anyone, right? Well, watch who you let touch your body because energy is real. She did talk, but it was relevant conversation and helped me so much. I was impressed by her experience and knowledge and look forward to returning. I got the 1 hour facial massage for $49.99. I arrived at 4:45 because they wanted me to fill out paperwork which only took 2 minutes, so they brought me to the waiting room afterward. My appointment was for 5 and I wasn't greeted by the person who was going to do my facial until 5:08. I didn't think much of it because I was ready to relax after taking my last college final. She begins the massage and everything is fine until she starts blowing her nose every 5 minutes, obviously she is sick. The only things she's doing to my face are rubbing around 5-6 different oils and lotions on my face(only rubbing each in for 1 minute) and the following 5 minutes I just had hot towels over my face. When the last towel was taken off my face she said she'd wait outside for me to get dressed. I look at the clock at its only 5:44. She shaved 16 minutes off of my facial plus another 8 minutes from being late. So in reality they should call this the 36 minute facial. Totally disappointed because this was not worth the $50 I spent. read more
