How cool is that?!) and how cozy and comfortable everything was. I started my massage face down, and she did some range of motion on my legs to loosen up some adhesions in my hips, and did cupping therapy on my back (my fave thing IN THE WORLD). When she flipped me face up, I was a bit congested, and she did some cupping on my face to drain my sinuses so I could breathe better. The essential oils she dripped along my spine were so divine, and the hot towels on my feet felt so soothing and luxurious. Amanda definitely doesn't do your typical, run of the mill, cookie cutter deep tissue massage. Everything was catered to exactly what I "kneaded" and i didn't leave feeling like any problems were left unaddressed like I do at many other places. I am from Baton Rouge and will definitely make the drive to Mandeville in a heartbeat to get the best massage on the North Shore. I couldn't have asked for a better, more intuitive, more caring, or more attentive therapist that gives 110% and doesn't half a** anything AT ALL. Amanda ROCKS! I want to say I would love to try a massage from everyone on her team, but really, who could ask for more?! Amanda does not like to do hands on massage for the duration of the massage even though she is very good at it. She wants to do cupping even if the client does not want it. She will take more minutes away from actual massage by doing a sound bath even if the client does not want it. The same with too much aggressive stretching. If I come in for a massage, that's what I want. I want my muscles massaged. If you are into sound baths, cupping and stretching during your massage session and want less actual massage, then Amanda is good for that.

Well not to make a scene. But I didn't want to throw my money away and walk out of the session. However she dwelled on neck and shoulders. The session was 85% neck and shoulders and 15% sole of feet only. No foot rub. No toes. No lower leg. No heel. I mentioned that to her. The provider had a good touch on the feet however I am unhappy with this session because such a small percentage of time was spent providing the service I specifically requested. I was not so happy with that but I did tip the provider. As I was walking out the desk stopped me to charge $12 for the lotion that was used. I was offered 1 of 3 lotions - all with a name. I wasn't informed that there was any additional charge for lotion. By the way. I did bring my own castor oil and they refused to o use it. Stay away from the chains. Go somewhere else.

The ambience is relaxing and serene while still being down-to-earth. I live in New Orleans and while there are plenty of good massage places here, I drive 45 minutes and cross the bridge to go to Nirvana--they are that worth it. And every birthday, Christmas, and anniversary, that's what I ask for. (Which reminds me--I'm out of gift cards and it's only August! Are Halloween Gifts a thing??)
