Review of Massage Envy East (1886 Joe Battle, El Paso TX): I had a very disappointing experience at this location. The facility is dirty, as shown in the photos I took, which is not what you would expect from a place that promotes health, wellness, and relaxation. When I arrived, I waited about 10 minutes before being greeted because only one employee was working the front desk and was tied up on the phone. Once I was acknowledged, I had to complete intake forms twice on the iPad because my information wasn't saved the first time. I was then taken to the so-called "relaxation room," which had a sign requesting phones be silenced. Unfortunately, another guest had her phone on speaker watching videos, making it impossible to relax. Staff did nothing to address it. When I asked the therapist about phones, she confirmed they weren't allowed but still did nothing about the obvious disruption. The massage itself was the worst part. The room and table were filthy, dust, grime, and even dead bugs on the floor. The massage therapist lightly grazed my back with her nails rather than applying real pressure. When I asked for more pressure, she told me she could only do "medium," but her medium was no more than a feather-light touch. At that point, I asked her to stop because it was not meeting my needs at all. To make matters worse, when I got up from the table, I noticed the table itself was dusty as well. At checkout, the receptionist, who seemed to be the manager, asked if I wanted to reschedule, with no apology, no attempt to make things right, and no acknowledgment of the issues. Overall, this was an awful experience: poor cleanliness, poor service, lack of professionalism, and absolutely no customer care. I would not recommend this Massage Envy location to anyone. read more

This location has canceled my wife's appointment on three different occasions on Saturdays causing a huge inconvenience as we get or massage at the same time monthly. This is something we do monthly together on Saturday. Once they cancel her appointment there are no other appointments available causing us to spend the entire Saturday at Massage Envy while we wait on each other. We are going to drive to the other side of down (Fountains) where we can count on our appointment times being honored. read more

This is my favorite location of all the Massage Envy locations I have ever visited. It is not the biggest, but size doesn't matter because the costumer service from the moment you call to book your massage is superb. When arrived I was offered different choices of drinks to hydrate myself, I chose chamomile tea. The staff was caring, attentive, pleasant, listened and guided me through my choices for my appointment. I am looking forward to come back. read more

Super annoyed. Massage Envey on Mesa in El Paso TX refused to provide services to me to becuase I had a Covid vaccine yesterday morning. Stating that their insurance ABMP has threatened to cancel their insurance if the massage or provide services to anyone within 48 hours of being vaccinated. "Becuase I have live Covid in me"! Used my gift card for a facial today. My esthetician was Andrea. When I walked in, I was greeted by two of the staff at the front desk. I filled out my intake form and waited for my appointment. Andrea introduced herself and walked me to our room. She went over the things we were going to do , and stepped out so that I could get comfortable on the table. The facial procedure itself was what I felt thorough and unrushed, very relaxing, as she turned on a heater and dim the lights. She often asked if pressure with using the instruments during my extractions were uncomfortable, and always made sure I was doing OK. After the procedure, she exited the room and allowed me to get dressed and instructed to meet her back at the front desk. She went over the notes she had written for me, and invited me to return in the near future. All in all, I was comfortable with Andrea, and recommend her! I just love the atmosphere here. Calm and relaxing and I can't ever wait to arrive! The therapist I see has done wonders for my back. Somehow she just knows the right amount of pressure that I need. I've been to several places in El Paso for massage and this has been the best. They are very professional and I'd recommend them highly. Did a couples massage for our wedding anniversary, My husband had Alfa and I had Anna. When I booked our massages I told them I was pregnant but only 16 weeks and that I only wanted to book the massage if I could lay flat on my stomach as I am early in my pregnancy (only 16 weeks) still sleeping on my stomach and my doctor said it was fine. The receptionist Ashley said it was fine no problem at all. Come to find out on the day of my massage that laying flat goes against Massage Envys store policy and I must do the massage laying on my side. I insisted that I did NOT want to do the massage laying on my side and that couldn't possibly be comfortable or relaxing. Sure enough they talked me into giving it a try (as it was my only option) and it is the most UNCOMFORTABLE & UNRELAXING massage you could get. I had to support myself and push against my masseuses force or you'll roll right off the table. Not to mention the pillow they give you to put between your legs is flat and shapeless, not even a special maternity pillow. They got me in there under false pretenses and still wanted to upsale me with "next time your masseuse wants to see you for 90 min" and we recommend you add this service" blah blah blah. The receptionist should've known the stores policy and not given me false information. I will Not go back. read more

I had my first massage there today. OMG, I was in heaven. I signed up for the monthly plan with reduced fees for services. I'm going to go each month for a massage and/or the microdermabrasion infusion. The second treatment would cost me a small fee, but oh so worth it. They will check your account to see how many credits you have and then book things on there that you're not aware of. When asked about it they will be rude about it. I am currently on vacation here in El Paso visiting my best friend, we have never gotten a massage done so we thought "what the heck" AT FIRST we actually made an appointment with another location who actually entered to have us on the wrong date and to be honest kinda messed some plans up. They were unprofessional and didn't try and accommodate us at all. I am pregnant so I do need the prenatal masseuse. After just canceling over all at the other location we didn't want to cancel out massages all together.... I went ahead and called this location THIS MORNING and they were able to get us in today. I can't recall the young lady's name who I spoke to over the phone but she was very easy going and super sweet. When we did arrive we were treated perfectly. When we got situated in our room I had Cindy working on me. Let me just say that this young lady knows what she's doing. She was nothing short of AMAZING! She got every focus point and more. When I do come back to El Paso I will be seeing Cindy again FORSURE! Hands down one of the best experience's I've ever had. read more

My mother has paid a lot of money for massage points including for her children and we all feel that this whole business is a scam. She has been told by different employees that she must keep paying to use her already paid for points. There is a "freeze" option but Massage Envy is telling her she can't use the points during the freeze but that she will still be charged $10 for "Maintenance" and it's only for a 6 month period after which they keep charging full price. How could anyone, in good conscience treat a long time paying member by essentially scamming them and stealing their money? They never explained to her that this was how they handle the accounts. This situation needs to be addressed and corrected immediately if this is a respectable business at all as every location claims it to be. However, it is impossible to get any help so I recommend not even starting a membership with this entity. read more

I've been hesitant to try a massage chain. I just couldn't picture getting a quality massage. I ended up going to Massage Envy because of some muscle tightness and pain. I'm glad I did. The quality of the massage was excellent. I like deep tissue massages and lots of places I've gone don't do it well. They just don't apply enough pressure. Alma, my therapist at Massage Envy, did a great job. She applied plenty of pressure and by plenty I'm mean I winced a few times. The atmosphere in the massage room was somewhat spa-like, but nothing fancy. You pay discounted rates so you shouldn't expect some of the same elements found in a spa. That said, I came for a massage so I didn't care about some of the other perks. The check-in was smooth and I liked how the attendant took the time to understand my trouble spots so my therapist could focus on those areas. I know its part of their sales processes to entice you into a membership, but it's a nice touch. I haven't decided if I will get a membership, but I'm very likely to go back for another massage. I'm a member of Massage Envy and have been one for nearly 7 years. Since I've lived around the country, I've had the opportunity to visit different franchisees. Sometimes the massage and service is good, other times it's overly pushy and the masseuse is insensitive to my needs. This is not so at Massage Envy in West El Paso. The customer service is wonderful, and, Sonny, definitely worked out a number of "kinks" in my back and legs. I highly recommend your visiting today! read more

I have been getting a deep tissue massage with the sports therapy enhancer, which includes Biofreeze. I work out 5 days a week, and the therapy really helps to relax my muscles. Funny how you respond to my complaint and say I should reach out to you all, when I have already done this on multiple occasions. Per ALL the emails I have received back from Ashley, the franchisee is not willing to work with me and is being unrealistic. Either I use my accrued services in 90 days and MUST wear a mask during the entire massage. Which is not realistic for quite a few people. But you are ok with people not wearing mask for facials, because Lord forbid you loose out on any money. But its ok that your patrons loose money on services you are not providing to them right now. The other option is that I have to pay you all $60 more dollars just to use my services I have already paid for in 6 months as opposed to 90 days. Some common courtesy during this pandemic is all I have asked for, but it's obvious this franchisee does not know what that is or doesn't care. The public should know how you all are treating people and your responses should not pretend to care about your patrons when this is not how you treat us in private. read more

Very disorganized place, and the new employees do not disclose contract information (I was told I was able to cancel my membership at anytime, but I received a phone call and had a argument with the employee stating I owed them money when I didn't get my massage, possibly one of management?) anywhoo, the 1 star is for the massage, other than that I have only had a month membership and I will never go back to this place it's a rip off and ultimately when you sign up you sign ur soul away for a year. read more

I first started going to Massage Envy in Las Cruces years ago, but now I live in El Paso so I frequent the Mesa location. I receive great massages about 98% of the time. I usually don't ask for specific therapists because I schedule my appointments last minute, but am very very rarely disappointed. The last two I had by Krista and Cynthia were amazing, but there are so many therapists there that also do an outstanding job! read more

Amazing place for massages and especially great for couples massages. I like that they ask about specific areas, tend to go very in-depth about the type of massage that works best for you and what your body needs. I left the room very relaxed and happy with my massage but I will say I originally enjoyed that they make future massage suggestions. They quickly became very pushy about committing to continuing services with them, becoming a very sales situation about monthly packages and I do no like that. I understand presenting the packages and even leaving take home information prior to the massage, but one the person is relaxed there is an immediate tension brought back due to having to find a nice way to either say no or to possible have stress in weather you made an impulsive decision by committing. The massage aspect was a 5 but the jump into sales mode took away from the overall experience. read more

I have been a member since February 2017. I didn't care for my first massage. I left oily. I hate that. They assured me that they would clean off the oil with hot towels next time. They called and asked me to return. I really wasn't interested. I have been paying $55 a month for nothing. I finally returned today and asked for a deep tissue massage and for the oil to be cleaned off after when I made the appointment. My therapist said she doesn't do deep tissue and she was never told that I wanted that. Oh, and no hot towel. I left oily AGAIN. I spoke to the manager and canceled my membership. She would not offer any kind of refund. She only offered more massages. I told her I am not interested and left. Terrible. read more

I'm a single mother and have been saving for a massage and facial for a few months now. I booked my appointment earlier this week and showed up on time for my appointment. At the end of my facial I was told that they do not have ANY massage oils without coconut. I have an allergy to nuts, and was not asked when booking my appointment about any allergies. I would not have booked an appointment and wasted my day if I would have known I could not get a massage here. I was not offered an alternative treatment like a stretch that they advertise every time you call, or even a discount on my service. I was told to bring my own lotion and re-book my massage. They really should ask when they have a new client, or have some sort of alternative lotions. I know I'm not the only one with an allergy out there. But I do have to say that Erin did a good job with my facial. Even though it was not a full 60 minute facial as advertised, my face feels pretty light and cleaner.
