Ok literally best place for a massage I've been in EP. I called in advance just to make sure they had openings but they booked me right there for an hr later. As soon as you step in you get this vibe of calmness and relaxation; they have products to sell and the decoration and music makes it already a nice place. Since it was my first time there they gave me a form to fill with all my concerns and to be very specific about my goals with this session: I was looking to get rid of this pain in my back I was there for a massage but they also offer facials and waxing services. They walked me in 5 minutes later and I got the massage with Jorge we had a small talk just to confirm the service and specifics of the massage and he stepped out for me to get ready for the massage. The room was candle lit and with some very relaxing music and birds sounds. The whole massage was amazing and Jorge was so kind and extremely professional, I've never had a massage performed by a man and being a woman I felt so relaxed and enjoyed the service because he made me feel comfortable and was courteous and professional. He was asking questions making sure he was delivering the right pressure and was feeling good for me. At the end they gave me a water and I was extremely pleased. First massage was alright although the massage therapist was male (I'm female) and was very heavily deep breathing in my ear which was very uncomfortable. He also asked what areas to focus one which I appreciated but then said he ran out of time and left some areas unmassaged. He also took him about 10 mins to come in (twice) which meant my massage was 50 mins and probably the reason he "ran out of time". I ended up trying a female masseuse named Erin next, which was the absolute worst massage Ive EVER had and she wouldn't shut up and let me relax despite telling her MULTIPLE time that I didn't want to talk. So, I had pretty much sworn the place off until the manager recommended Tara. She is fabulous and perhaps the best masseuse in El Paso. I have been seeing her ever since. The only bummer is that I like to get my massages in the evening so I don't have massage face all day and her latest appointments are 1:45. Other things about this place, staff is often loud in the hallways so I recommend bringing ear plugs or ear buds. The music isn't very good either so I recommend finding a spa mix to listen to. It would also be nice if they wiped the oil off after they were finished. I end up with oil all over my car after every massage. So, I end up bringing a towel in my car. Finally, it would be nice if they had some sort of eye mask to put over your eyes when you flip over. I usually end up bringing a mask with me or Tara will fold a towel and put it over my face. So, all in all, it's okay and probably better than most places here in El Paso but definitely has areas for improvement. read more

My husband and I were so excited to get a message and at Jyrus delivered a professional and thorough massage. I credit my great experience based upon his skills and the fact that he asked a few questions to make sure he provided a custom service. I indicated on my intake form that my neck was an area that needed attention. He rubbed the back AND front of my neck. I've never had a therapist do this and I now realize I must hold a lot of tension in this space. I signed up for the Table Thai Message and I enjoyed the stretching as well as the massage. I am writing this review on behalf of a friend who, because of what happened to her here, does not feel comfortable posting publicly. This review is about Julio, a masseuse operating at Unknot Thai and Wellness Spa. Although his massage started out professionally, as the massage continued he acted completely inappropriately: repeatedly touching (and stroking) intimate parts of the body that are NOT involved in a normal massage under any circumstances (he stroked her repeatedly from her hip on the front of her body to the groin and inner thighs on the back of her body - at several points coming into contact with her underwear and at one point reaching under it); not providing proper coverage and moving her legs in a way that left her private parts exposed; and even putting his face close to her body to smell her (she felt his facial hair and breath on her skin). The power dynamic between a massage therapist and a client is already skewed since the client is physically exposed. A massage therapist should be held to high standards for professionalism and ethical behavior, and Julio's behavior during this massage was absolutely unacceptable to the point of illegality. I hope the management of Unknot will be taking action against him immediately. My friend has filed a police report and made a formal complaint to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. She does not want what happened to her to happen to anyone else. He touched her inappropriately, and if he continues to get away with this, the next time could be worse. I implore the management of this business to take action immediately. read more

This place advertises authentic Thai massages.. welp. I happened to have very recently visited Thailand, and because of how stinking cheap EVERYTHING is there, I experienced quite a few "Authentic Thai massages".. I'm talking: walk in, no one speaks English (well, they all speak a little..), point at a menu or even just make a gesture indicating what you want... no questions asked, no debate on type of pressure or previous injuries you may have or preferences or whatever.. you just get led to a mat on the floor of a room covered in similar mats on the floor (sometimes raised platforms if you're in a more touristy area) with nothing but some curtains to separate the mats and offer a little privacy. Of course, Unknot is a bit different.. as its not located down a random side street in downtown Phuket.. it actually has some rules and regulations to follow to be able to stay in business.. and.. well, you get it. So. I see this place on Yelp.. and I've really been craving some self love and pampering, so I basically ordered the sampler platter: body wrap, 60 min deep tissue, and 30 min Thai massage -authentic, not table top. I only called a day in advance, so they couldn't book me right away because they had to speak to the massage therapist first and make sure I could even be accommodated for all that in one sitting. Didn't take long, Pamela called me back to let me know it wouldnt be an issue and that I was booked for all three, but once I arrived I could work out the details with Diana (the licensed massage therapist) on how to go about doing everything. Arrived the next day, check in was simple with a few preliminary questions (the standard: what are your problem areas, do you have injuries, and special requests, etc) and Diana came out to greet me immediately. What we had to work out was the fact that the body wrap includes a 30-40ish minute Swedish massage, but I specifically said I DO NOT want Swedish (to me Swedish just feels like someone rubbing lotion in my skin and not actually massaging anything.. I need that deep pressure!) So. We went with a 60 min Thai, followed by 60 min deep tissue, then the body wrap (replaced Swedish with deep tissue, then just spread the times out). So first up: Thai. If you've never had a Thai massage, it's a different experience. This one was in a provate room on a raised platform, not a squishy mat on the floor... You don't just lie prostrate while they do their thing during these massages. There is A LOT OF movement involved.. well in the ones I got in Thailand that was the case. After those, my body and muscles felt amazing, but I also kind of felt like I had just finished a workout. This one was similar, but I guess it seemed more.. Westernized? Diana was spot on with the amount of pressure for me (digging in with the 'bows), but where the stretching and movement was incorporated it was a lot more slow placed and gentle flowing. She actually told me that some people fall asleep during the massage. That would be impossible in Thailamd. I felt the stretches for sure. But like I said.. in Thailand it was like a workout. Constant movement. My only complaint was some of the pressure she applied ended up feeling like she was ripping my skin off because of the friction and pinching and whatnot (you're clothed during these, so no lotions and stuff to lube ya up) If you've never had one, you should give it a try.. I haven't decided if I'll get another one or just stick to normal table massages. Deep Tissue: Again, Diana dug those elbows in.. it got pretty intense with some of the pressure.. I've got some major knots back there and I'm pretty sure she put every bit of strength her 5'2", 100lb frame could muster into working them out. It got a little (a lot) painful.. I'm not complaining, that's what I asked for / wanted / needed. The only thing that I was a little disappointed in was the lack of attention all over my body. I did indicate that my neck/shoulders/upper back needed the most love.. but I didn't realize that meant everything else would only get a couple mins. Still. It was nice. I'm feeling much better now. And finally, the body wrap. Stripped down to my skin vies, smeared me up with some sea weed gel or something.. then wrapped me up in cellophane, then the cellophane got all wrapped up in ace bandages, then I laid on the table and got wrapped in plastic, then some kind of tarp, then some towels, then a blanket.. I kind of felt like Kathy Bates when she wore the cellophane dress in Fried Green Tomatoes. .. but then wrap her up like a mummy and put her in a body bag.. anywho- then I just laid on the table to marinate for about 30 mins while Diana gave me a scalp massage. I'm not sure if the body wrap did anything amazing for me.. but my skin was good and hydrated afterwards. Whoops - wrote too much already. They'll probably see me again. The End. read more

I have spoken to the owner Pamela whom is a very rude person. She told me over the phone she is all about money and no customer satisfaction. We were unable to attend an appointment for a massage that was never confirmed bit she told me and loed in my face telling me that we had attended the appointment. Called me a liar and said there was a form that we filled out, which we never went. This is not fair, now she has charged all of our money and she told me she does not care what I do. I've seen this place a hundred times since I live close by but never paid much attention to it. On a whim, I booked a massage with them today and WOW... My massage therapist, Jyrus B. did a phenomenal job! I have gotten massages at places that were a lot more expensive but this was the best massage I've ever gotten and the price was very reasonable. Jyrus asked me about the pressure he was using, and asked me if I was comfortable a number of times during the session. You can tell that he loves what he does because he's a great therapist and has excellent people skills. I walked out of there feeling so good and so relaxed. I asked Jyrus for suggestions on my next massage and he explained every service and how they're beneficial in different ways. My only critique is that my masseuse was talking too much during my session and was using too much pressure even when I said it was too hard. I must say, that you have to schedule in advance, especially for weekends, preferably a week in advance to ensure they have availability. But In regards to our massage, we were both very satisfied with everything. The amount of pressure that was applied was perfect, the aromatics used were great and the massage was perfect. The absolute best massage I have ever had!!! I receive regular massage in Arizona, where I live, and have dinner so for more than 20 years. I contacted Un Knot looking for relief after an 8 hour drive (and before making the return trip in a week), and was set up with Jyrus for a 2 hour session involving Thai stretching with massage. The attention he gave was phenomenal! He was very comfortable to speak with about my concerns and needs booth before starting as well as sitting out session. I felt as though I've known him for years. Jyrus was extremely attentive to my body and what it needed, made sure to ask how the pressure was, and coached me through my breathing and release so that I could benefit the most from the stretches. If I lived here I would be moving over to Un Knot. Un Knot was very inviting upon entrance, very serene, warm, and relaxing. From the phone call booking the appointment all the way through walking out the door after my superb session I was made to feel like I was the only thing that mattered at that moment. This is my favorite massage place in El Paso... maybe on the Earth? First time I came here was just because I was intrigued by the name and the appearance of the store front. I was not disappointed. So far I've only gotten the 60-90 minute table Thai masssage, but I am satisfied every single time. I prefer very deep pressure and every therapist has been able to provide that. They also do stretches during the massage which is the icing on the cake. To be honest, I can't remember if the prices are comparable or affordable When you walk out of that place, you feel like new, so in my book who cares about the price. I'm definitely coming here again next time I'm in El Paso. I tried the Thai massage for the very first time ever and I loved it. My massage therapist (Matthew) was very aware of the pressure required in each area, never too deep, always the right amount. I'm very sensitive to pressure, so this is especially important to me. He also gave me some try-at-home tips at the end of the session that will help me stretch problem areas myself. Overall this place has friendly staff and a very relaxing ambiance. Coming to Unknot and having a Thai massage is the single best thing I have ever done for myself. I suffer from sever plantar fasciitis, which has multiplied into a series of other problems. I have been recommended for surgery, but have wanted to find a healthier alternative, as I believe in the body's ability to heal itself. Thai massage is my answer. After a 60 minute massage with Itzel, followed by a 90 minute with Ajit a week later, I felt better and had more mobility than I have had in years. The massage was truly a spiritual experience where I experienced my first "yoga moment", releasing what appeared to be years of built up tension. Amazing-I can't say enough about it! I went to Unknot today for the first time and had an excellent back and neck shoulder massage with Kyle Panko. My right shoulder was hurting from an old injury and he exerted perfect pressure to help ease the pain. Since he only worked on my back, neck and shoulders, I already scheduled another massage for next week for a whole body. It is my birthday present to myself! Talk about some much needed and excellently done TLC!! This quaint on the outside luxurious on the inside spa was amazing! The Table Top Thai massage was just what I needed to break the big knots in my traps and rhomboid muscles. They do so much more that just massage sore muscles though. The Table Top Thai uses stretches as well as hot towel treatments to fully release your tension. CHARGED ME NO SHOW FOR A CAR ACCIDENT. Do NOT go to this place, they do not care about their clients. I went to Unknot Thai Spa once and had to wait 15 min before my service started. I got a work call during the wait time and asked if I could reschedule. I thought they were kind to accommodate me to reschedule and planned to come back the next week. To make it up to them, I thought it would be nice to bring a friend along and ensure them another client. We got in a huge CAR ACCIDENT on the way though, but even then we had the courtesy to call in and say we'd be late. However, there was no sympathy on the phone and they charged us both a cancellation fee. In total we had to pay almost $100 for the no show for something we couldn't control. I even offered to come back later but they were very rude to me and my friend over the phone when we called in separately. I came to this place after having problems with my hips and shoulder. Not new to massage therapy, i gave Unknot Thai Spa 5 stars because: 1. as soon as you walk in, you're greeted by friendly, welcoming, professional staff. 2. The Massage therapist (Ket) very knowledgeable, has a ton of experience, and finds the root of the problem! 3. The spa has this fresh feel to it, very clean, very peaceful. 4. They offer you water or tea while you wait making you feel comfortable. 5. I felt AMAZING after my massageI Thai massages are more like deep tissue, so if you don't like deep tissue massages and enjoy Swedish massages, they offer that as well (amongst many other services)!
