Incredibly unprofessional and the manager is rude. I got a call to confirm my appointment yesterday. I show up today to find out its been canceled. The manager lied to my face about calling and leaving a voicemail instead of just apologizing for her misstep. I took off work for this appointment but once you're a member, they take no accountability because you can't cancel. There are rarely any appointments online and you end up with credits you can't use. Avoid this place. read more

Very difficult to get an appointment. When you can, it is usually pretty good. I have become increasingly disappointed in the customer experience with Massage Envy. The increased pricing and decreased availability of massage therapists are why I will not attempt to continue membership when I relocate. read more

No stars. We have tried to book an appointment twice now. Online there were no available spots going 4 months out (weekends or after 5). We finally just went in one day and booked our appointment for 4 weeks later. We got a call today 2 weeks in, that one of the therapists quit so they have to cancel our couples appointment and there are no available spots again until August. They did say they had staff that all took vacation at the same time and now some are quitting, plus the receptionist have to come from other locations. I just wanted to relax and after every time, I just leave more stressed. Won't be going here, although I don't really have the option anyway. I'd suggest finding a different location with more staff. read more

My aunt gifted me a facial at this location. I was excited to go there and relax. The lady that did my facial was nice. She is the only aesthetician at this location. She also works in the fredricksburg location. She talks a lot, but is friendly. It was supposed to be an hour long massage but she start at 10 minutes late and finish 10 minutes early. I would not say it was relaxing. But the worst part was within two days of getting the massage. My entire face started to swell and have white pimples. I would never go back to this place. And I wouldn't recommend you do either. I do not think she use quality products she refused to do extractions from my nose area, because she was fearful of popping a blood vessel, but I have no visible blood vessels in my nose. Thank God I did not pay for it but I'm suffering to clear up my skin from the break out. read more

This location has awful reviews so I thought I'd share my good experience. Booked one day out because I saw an opening and got a 60 minute massage from Jeanetta. She did a great job and is a very skilled massage therapist, one of the best experiences I've had at massage envy. The front desk personnel were helpful in answering all the questions I had about membership and credit use. I read a fair amount of 2 star reviews and I do agree with some of them. Paying for an annual membership is tough because I feel like I pay monthly and accrue credits faster than my busy schedule or massage envy's small availability can allow. They are a great company with well trained massage therapists and because of that I have a hard time finding availability. read more

No stars. I have had a membership at this location but have had to book massages at other locations to get quality service. I have cancelled my service, which they insist takes "up to 10 days" to process. I notified them on November 24. This office charged me for another month in December and are acting like it is impossible to determine whether a refund is available! It is not unusual to refund a customer that is no longer interested in a continued relationship. When I asked for the General Manager's name....the staff responded with they are uncomfortable giving the manager's name. Super shady and shoddy. If you are the manager of a legitimate business...it should not be a problem for a customer to request an escalation contact to further resolve the situation!!!!! Terrible business processes. Yikes, this Massage Envy has horrible Yelp reviews so I must share a different perspective from my experience. For my fellow Massage Envy members, many of you may have run into this issue.... there are NO appointments! Recently, I've had to drive up and down 95S to other locations for a massage and with so many credits I decided to take advantage of other available services. I booked a 60 minute total body stretch at this location and I had a fantastic experience with the front desk staff and the therapist. This was my second total body stretch (my first was at a different location and it was unsatisfactory). To elaborate on the therapist and his skill and professionalism... he summarized his experience in the field and walked me through every stretch step by step. For those of you who workout daily and need a little extra assistance with stretching, I highly recommend trying out this service option. A 30-minute session can be booked solo or it can be added to a massage in lieu of a 60-minute session, if preferred. You will receive a text message reminder and a text message checkin link leading to you appointment. I had a pleasant experience and the stretching was A++. read more

After about 5 years of membership and regular monthly visits, I show up for my last appointment to find out that they cancelled it. Had a call from them the week prior that my CC did not go through, I had lost it and had it reissued. No problem we can take it over the phone, I told the lady calling I would update it on my next visit as I don't give my details over the phone...you know because of the rampant identity theft in this country. Oh ok. Bye. Fast forward to my appointment, I show up and I'm not on the schedule. I check my calendar and I definitely have an appointment scheduled...oh I see...your account is suspended because your CC did not go through, so we cancelled your appointment. WTF? I told the lady I would update when I come in, besides that I have like 5 hours of credits, why would you cancel my appointment? Oh you can't use credits if your account is suspended...WTF? That's not how credits work. I pay for a service, you owe me a service. It's our policy and there is nothing we can do about that. So, you cancelled my appointment, without telling me, after I told you I would update my payment details when I came in. Now your telling me, my credits are not credits, so you're stealing from me? I was 100% going to update my CC as I like my regular therapist, but after this crap handling and horrible policy, I had to walk away. As a consumer, I will not be treated like this. Each month, Massage Envy automatically charges my credit card for which I am supposed to be able to get a massage. Yet for more than a year they have no availability for months, meaning it's impossible to get the service I paid for. They deserve another class action suit. read more

I was given a gift certificate to Massage Envy so I went for a deep tissue massage. The actual massage was great but I had two gripes: 1) Everyone was trying to up-sell me on their subscription package. Seems like even the cleaning lady was trying to get me to buy this package. Over and over I said, "Thanks, but just interested in just getting this one massage," but apparently they take this as, "Well, he wasn't outright rude, so lets keep pushing." So if you want just a massage and don't want to be constantly up-sold, I suggest maybe, "Absolutely, positively, without any doubt - no, nyet, nein, no no no no NO!" After this, you may only be asked three times. 2) As I am training for a big bike ride in June, I thought, "Well, as annoying as they are, it may make sense to buy a package as I will be training pretty hard over the next few months." I went to their web site and it looks like their subscription package is for one a month - I didn't see an option to buy a 10-pack, or something like that. Seems like a highly inflexible system they have. If you want a package where you want to get one massage a month for the next year, then I would recommend them. read more

I'm upping my review to two stars. Since posting the review below, Massage Envy has taken steps to try and improve my experience. I received an email asking me to follow up and the manager spent some time on the phone with me trying to straighten out the situation. I also now receive monthly calls asking me to schedule appointments if I haven't already done so. They also linked me up with my favorite therapist to date, Kayla, but she just left, so I'm hoping to find another therapist who is equally good. They did mess up one appointment, but luckily I didn't have other plans that hinged on it. I still say I've experienced better, but Massage Envy has a couple of more months left in my membership to change my mind. Previous review: I made the mistake of signing up for the one year membership on the recommendation of my roommate. Boy, was that a mistake. I can't tell you the number of times I have been called so they can cancel my massage. It's next to impossible to schedule time with the therapists I like, so of course they can never give me a new date in the immediate future, but despite setting up appointments up to 6 weeks in advance, it's been about 4 months since I've been able to get in for a session. If the cancellations just occurred on weekends, that would be one thing, but I have taken off days from work, in the middle of the week, only to be called the morning of my appointment to be notified that I took a day off for nothing. What makes the situation worse is that Massage Envy Dumfries does the same thing to my roommate, however they comp him hours for the massages they routinely cancel. Interesting. I went in today to get some information for myself as well as a gift for my other half. I was welcomed however for the next customer. Honest mistake - I mentioned this was my first time in the spa. They abruptly said that they were completely booked. Interesting. I wasn't trying to be seen at that time. It was merely a factor finding mission. I approached the desk to ask what services did they offer? Briana ask me like what? I ask again can you tell me about your services - and she rattled off the fees and not much about the actual service - Eric seemed to give. Little more information. I had to insist on some type of pamphlet or brochure that would give me a little more information about the massage envy retail - I ask if they had any appointments for tomorrow? Eric said yes around 2pm. I then inquire about the evening and what time they close - Briana said they fill up fast then she actual looked and said Friday at 6pm. I am very disappointed with Message Envy. I have been a member for 2 years now and I am being punished. I want to freeze my acct so that I can catch up with the messages have paid for but I have to pay a $10 to do this per month. That is ridiculous. I am very pleased with Massage Envy in Dumfries in general, but I have a couple favorite massage therapists who are amazing! As a Disabled Marine Combat Veteran I need Massage Therapy on a regular basis due to my chronic pains and muscle spasms. I combine that with Chiropractic and Medical care. My two favorite Massage Therapists are Lola and Lauren because they ALWAYS take excellent care of me, make me feel amazing, physically as well as mentally and they are very professional, nice and friendly. Very disappointed with the service I'm receiving at this location. I was given incorrect information and am now being charged monthly for a program I don't want to be a part of. I've even spoken to the owner, who still has not called me back to resolve the issue AND now I've been charged another month. I feel that I'm a reasonable person, I didn't even want my money back for the previous two charges I just wanted to be unenrolled. I will never do business with Massage Envy Spa - Dumfries again. I made an appointment for the day before my WEDDING (June 11th 2015). A few days before I received a call asking me to reschedule that appointment from 11AM to 1PM, and while I was stressed, and busy I was willing to accommodate this request from the spa. So after rearranging my schedule of pre-wedding events, I show up at the spa at the appointed time. I approached the desk and immediately the problems began. First the person behind the counter couldn't find my appointment. When she finally did, she said "oh well your appointment isn't until 3pm." I kindly explained to her that was wrong, I wouldn't have agreed to a 3pm appointment because I had a full day of appointments scheduled and that was mid-way through my nail appointment. The worker kinda shrugged and said 'well we don't have anyone who can massage you right now'. At this point there were TWO other workers standing behind the desk with her...*doing nothing*. I explained to her I was getting married the next day, I had no other available time to do this. I asked to speak with the manager, she claimed she was the manager. She was absolutely unwilling to help me, she offered no potential solutions and it was very clear to my maid of honor and myself that she literally didn't care. Never have I experienced such unfeeling and unhelpful customer service. Today was my third visit to this specific ME and it was nothing short of outstanding. I have been a member of ME for about a year and a half now and was never really impressed with the masseuses I'd seen at other locations. They did well enough to keep my membership alive, but not good enough to sing its praises. A month ago I roamed into this location and I can guarantee you I will not go to another location again. Because I am a gym enthusiast and don't stretch enough, I am an avid fan of deep tissue/pressure and I hit the jackpot in Dumfries. The first therapist I saw was Shannon, she is great. Personable, talented, very strong, and really worked out all the trouble spots I have from my regular weight lifting routine. I had an appointment to see her again today, but unfortunately she was sick and they called to reschedule. I wanted to keep my day, so they recommended a therapist based on my deep tissue preference and set me up with Dusty. Oh Dusty, I don't know where they found this angel at, but his hands are divinely blessed from the good Lord himself. I have been getting regular massages for about 5 years and I can honestly say this is the best I have ever felt on the table and off. I could tell he was reading my physical reactions and properly adjusting, separating and stretching tight muscles, ultimately releasing every bit of tension I had in my entire body. I've always had a problem fully relaxing my neck, but I was complete putty. By the end, I couldn't even verbalize thoughts correctly. I was trying to speak to him and the staff afterwards, but I'm fairly certain I wasn't making much sense. Fact is, he is a miracle worker with blessed hands and you need to book him to experience the magic that I speak of. I've also had a facial here. I wish I could remember her name, but it escapes me at the moment. She was wonderful too! Very thorough, knowledgable, and sweet as she could be. I shall end by saying front desk staff, I love you. Therapist actually gets a 4.5- Roque was great (aside from the oops) Pros: Very pretty place, love the immediate service, clerks are very tentative, office was relatively quiet. Consistent music throughout the facility, therapist had awesome pressure and was also very tentative. Cons: My breasts were mildly exposed during an abdominal stretch performed making me a tad uncomfortable, electric table adjustment during my session (twice) made me feel like I was in a doctors office, I think my session was actually cut off by a little over ten minutes altogether (despite me showing up 15 minutes early), I'm concerned about their therapists being up to date on credentials- Continuing education hours, but what concerned me the most was nobody actually looked at my intake form and I was asked questions that were already answered on it! read more

I have my account on auto withdrawal and this past week you took out two payments of the monthly fees of $65.00 each. I am being told by the local office that they have a new software system that did this and they do not have any control of the refunds and are also not being given any direction from the corporate office on how to refund or when the refund will be done on your end. They feel as I do, completely in the dark on what you are going to do about this problem. This is ridiculous that they cannot refund my payment onsite and reverse this charge. It is also very poor customer service and business practices that you at the corporate level are not supporting the local offices through this and sending out notifications to all of their clients to let them know to check their accounts for this possible error on your part and what is being done to correct this error and give us that are effected our money back. It is not the local offices responsibility to notify clients it is yours. I am very disappointed in your ability to inform your customers of your errors that have effected our bank accounts. I would expect a call and to informed when you plan to refund my money. I expect my money to be refunded in a timely manner, within the next few business days. read more

I have been going to massage envy for over a year now and have continued my membership. It took some time to find just the right therapist. Some of my favs have come and gone but now I am seeing Kecia and I couldn't be happier. I'm pretty sure she has 3 sets of hands. Her technique is perfect for me. But even on the few times that I needed to get in and she wasn't available, I haven't had a bad massage. Also, the desk staff are super helpful and friendly. They know my name at this point and always seem to be ready for me. I also have had some tricky things happen with my credit card a time or two but they always fix it before it is even an issue. I am very thankful that this business makes the experience top notch every time. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that i would like to see them make the relaxation room more relaxing. You can usually hear all of the talking from the front desk and the overhead lights are too much. But the wait is never long so it isn't a deal breaker. read more

A few months ago, a stressful situation led me to the Massage Envy in Dumfries for relief. I have only had good experiences. Massage therapist Karen, a tiny girl with very strong hands, is good at working out the tension in my back. Massage therapist Katy has great finger pressure and she also does foot reflexology. She made my feet feel great and her voice is so soothing. Massage therapist Roque (pronounced Rocky) is very strong and gives a good massage but I prefer a female. Tiara has a firm, soothing touch. Lindsay, one of the front desk staff, was so attentive to me when I was so frazzled several months ago. Last month Massage Envy accidentally charged another customer's $20 tip to my credit card by mistake. Instead of waiting for me to discover the error on my own, one of the front desk staff took the initiative to call me and explain what happened. Mistakes happen and I really appreciate the fact that I did not have to discover this error myself. This was an example of excellent customer service. On the six month membership plan, I pay $59 for my first 50 minute massage and $49 for any additional massages during the month. read more

They gave me the wrong massage package with a masseuse that doesn't do the type of massage I requested and the massage was average at best. Instead of choosing a different day so that I could have a masseuse that did the massage I requested they said, "wait I can get you a masseuse that can do it now" as she put me with the same lady that she had just told me does not do that type of massage. I previously was a member of another Massage Envy in another state and that location was great. This one was meh... before the complete disregard for patient privacy and common decency. If I could give this place less than one star I WOULD. My mom tried calling for MONTHS to get an appointment and nobody would answer, when she finally got an appointment they called her back saying the appointment was already filled and cancelled (which was irritating but she didn't mind rescheduling). My mom called back to reschedule and got the appointment. She made the appointment for her and I (it was my first time and I wanted to go with her). They called the day of the appointment to cancel (which was fine, the masseuse was having car troubles). My mom said she wanted to cancel mine as well with no charge so we could reschedule and still be able to have our appointments together. They said that was totally fine. THEN we got a call back from them telling us that they WOULD be charging us for the appointment (around $150). The girl we spoke to was extremely rude and was acting like we were inconveniencing them even though they were the ones inconveniencing us (and we were very open to rescheduling the appointment!). My mom asked for a manager and they said they were putting us on hold, my mom muttered under her breath a cuss word (not thinking the woman was there. She was told it was on hold) The manager (Mary Chamberlain) proceeded to YELL at my mom saying "I HEARD WHAT YOU SAID" (my mom would NEVER have said this to this woman, she thought she was on hold and she was frustrated). After that Mary continued to yell at my mom calling her names and concluded the call by saying "we will be terminating your membership with us affective immediately" and hung up on my mom. NEVER go to this Massage Envy- My mom has had HORRIBLE experiences since management has changed. Go to the Massage Envy in the Stonebridge shopping center (15201 Potomac Town Pl Suite 130, Woodbridge, VA 22191) We went there after the call and explained the situation, they were very kind and very understanding- they helped us set up new memberships and appointments. I've been going to Massage Envy since 2012 and have always been happy. We moved to Dumfries in 2014 and I've been going to this location ever since. Staff is always professional and courteous -- both male and female masseuses and aestheticians. The facility is always clean. I was told recently that the male masseurs are not being utilized because of the national Massage Envy scandal, but I have NEVER had any issues whatsoever and highly recommend that if you're looking for a massage in Dumfries, give this place a shot. As a present I received a year's membership to Massage Envy. I do go every month b/c I don't want the money to go to waste but I always leave feeling annoyed. First, the front counter people can NEVER find me in the computer so I always spend an extra 10 minutes going through the same song and dance of attempting to figure out what random name I will be this month. The 'therapists' are terrible, they really need more training. One therapist didn't use enough 'lube' and chafed me so badly. He also made some inappropriate comments which I did not appreciate. Another therapist I had was so darn terrible I can't say one positive thing about her. She reeked of cigarette smoke and clearly did NOT want to be at work that day. The last therapist I had was a slight step up from the previous however she rushed the session which I did not appreciate. She also lacked some basic massage skills. I would really caution anyone thinking about joining their monthly program. Its really not worth it. I have been a member here for well over a year and have loved every minute of it. I rave about it every time. I can say that I have only have 2 less than excellent experiences. (minor infractions) One therapist forgot to cut her nails and the massage was slightly uncomfortable. I told her as well as made a mental not not to get her again. My second was about 4 months ago, the young lady was the only one available and I was in need of relaxation, I felt rushed... in if I am correct, I think she shorted me about 7-8 min (but I am not 100% on that). I have had over 16 or so massages there and have been elated every since. I would tell you who my favorite 3 are, but it is had enough getting a short notice appt with them *Wink*. If you go and do not experience "Bliss" let them know, we can all learn from mistakes. The front desk is the BEST!!! They accommodate me asking for descriptions of the different therapist (I am bad with names), checking my file to see what therapist I have had before so they can help me jog my memory. I received a gift card for Christmas to Massage Envy. I went by..their window display has "walk-ins welcome"... what they mean is "walk-ins are welcome to walk-in and make an appointment." I went there and the clerk said "sorry...but you can make an appointment or we have an opening for a facial" ... which of course cost more. Bottom-line...they can NOT accommodate walk-ins unless you pay more!!! You can always tell the type of service you can expect to receive when they don't honor what they say they do. Also, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Take my advice...go else where. read more

I bought two gift cards for one visit on each card (or so I thought) it was very expensive. When I filled out the cards I realized the lady did not put the amounts on them so I called for the amounts. She gave me the wrong amounts (the total was $100 less than what I paid) I called back and was still given incorrect amounts. I gave the gift cards to the recipients who called to schedule an appointment and was told they had a six month wait! They then called the Lake Ridge location and were told the gift cards had enough money for two massages on each (I wanted to pay for ONE) and they got an appointment that weekend. I recently visited one of your massage envy locations (4100 fortuna center plaza , dumfries , Va) on 06/17/2020. I read the reviews and saw a lot of reviews pointing to subpar massages and cutting massage time short but I decided to give it a try only to be met with the same issues past guests complained about. I made an appointment for a massage at 7p I arrived on time but was told prior to my arrival to call when outside and to wait for them to sanitize room and everything before I come in and that bought into my time , besides that I walk in and have to spend time to fill out a a questionnaire form which also bought into my time. Finally went for my massage which I told the therapist that I want a medium strength massage and to attack key locations on my body she said ok and did otherwise next thing she says ok she's done , I look at the clock and it's 7:48p. I go up to the front desk and told the lady my time was cut short and her response was "sorry we close at 8 ". Why would you charge me $70 for an hour only to provide me 35mins of a subpar massage. I called the next day and spoke to Lauren the (junior manager) who then tells me the staff should have told me to get there earlier and that she can't do anything to help me because Rachel the GM is the only one who can do anything. She proceeds to tell me on a Thursday that Rachel doesn't work weekends so I should expect a call on Monday and here we are going on a Wednesday and still no call. I'm highly disappointed and upset with how everything was handled and I'm an athlete and with the lockdown and everything I was looking forward to a much needed massage needless to say I had to go elsewhere and pay again for the service your location couldn't provide me with. Stay away from this racket. My husband scheduled an appointment 3 weeks out so he could get a female therapist and they called a day before and said she cancelled. When he asked his options they said we have a male therapist available but that isn't something my husband is comfortable with so he asked what other options they had to reschedule him and the guy said we are booked Saturday and closed on Sunday but we can get you in on Monday. My husband works so he asked about the following weekend and as is customary they are booked up and it will be another 3 weeks before he can get in with another therapist only to hope they do not cancel. This is not the first time but the third time and always cancelling within 24 hours of his appointment with no option for rescheduling other than waiting a couple more weeks. When my husband asked to speak to a manager the guy said, "we can't help you sir" I was a member of this place before but after experiencing the stress of trying to get an appointment I cancelled and will be strongly encouraging my husband to do the same. A good business will work customers into the schedule when an unexpected cancellation occurs from their employees or at least within a week! read more

Credit cards up front and over the phone.....I don't think so. I was very excited to learn of a massage business in Dumfries. I scheduled an appointment online provided my contact information only to find out that my appt was not confirmed because I needed to wait to be contacted. Once contacted to confirm my appt I was asked to provide credit card information over the phone to secure my appt slot. This location is poorly run and managed. Upon calling me to book an appointment they did not specify which location they were calling from-- just booked my massage (which I had paid for up front-- but was going to expire... apparently?)- the girl who called to book my appointment even tried to hang up the phone with me without telling me which day she had just scheduled me for-- just said "see you this weekend at 4". The whole call from her bizarre and scattered. Their notes they take- which they abuse to work to only their benefit-- were a cut-and-paste-check-the-box type of entry-- which management used to justify them taking my money regardless of the confusion. After booking my appointment the girl entered in some sort of non specific notes saying she fulfilled her requirements during the call with me. They had even marked and additional interaction in their notes, stating the called and spoke with me the day BEFORE to confirm my appointment-- I never received a call, and I have my phone call log to reflect that; they blindly entered this in as having been done. If it HAD... this experience could have been avoided. I live across the county from the Dumfries, VA location. My profile reflects that. The location I frequent is also across the country and local to me. That is where I headed for my appointment. When I walked in for my appointment at my home location 20 minutes early it was quickly realized that there had been a miscommunication. A call was made to the Dumfries location immediately to rectify. The staff- especially a "supervisor" named Seth- were completely unprofessional. He told me this event was my fault and that he was taking half of the credit I had pre-paid. He was condescending, belittling, and rude right from the get-go-- quickly causing me to quickly become upset and irritated. I hasn't caused this and it was unfair to be penalized for it. I was told that half of the credit for my massage would be taken in lieu of confusion. We went round and round about the notes that were marked down in their system-- all of which were 'stock' submissions and contained nothing from how the conversation had actually occurred-- the second submission of appointment confirmation be a complete lie. After discontinuing the call with the rude supervisor, Seth... he hung up with me and independently decided he was going to take the ENTIRE credit I had paid for. This was immediately discovered (as I was trying to use my remaining credit at my home location). We had to call back, again. Upon having my fill of frustration with him, he then talked to the manager at my local location-- where he criticized her and her position title and was unprofessional throughout the entire conversation- attempting to gossip negatively about me and getting off topic of correcting the task at hand. During his chat with this manager it was revealed that after he had hung up the phone with me, and out of spite, he decided to take the entire credit from me as some sort of power play... When she finally hung up the phone with him, her face was red and she was extremely flustered with the entire experience and the way he treated her. She apologized repeatedly for this entire experience and assured me that it isn't the norm. The next day the management of my home store connected with the management of the Dumfries location-- where they were unwilling to correct any of the situation. None of this would have escalated the way it had if there had been a proper management of this location. They are randomly entering notes into files that state what they're supposed to do-- and make them look like they're completing things properly and to corporate expectation-- instead of entering the detailed notes as to how conversations actually went and any customer specifics of relevance. Stores should be required to have managers on the clock during their busiest days-- such as the weekend. There should be some sort of verification process to assess the quality of the kids they have scheduling and confirming appointments. My home location is great-- they are run by a different company and have a strong ethic, are professional, and have never let me down. I'll continue to attend this location. I showed up 15 prior like they recommend. I was given the tour and then waited another 10 minutes for my massage. I was scheduled to get a massage at 12 I don't even start getting my massage until 12:15. The therapist started late and ended early. ( Shay) I then spoke to the manager, which was unprofessional, and she stated that it was supposed to be only 50 min hands on. Ok, understandable but I still lost out on massage time. You pay for an hour not 50 min. You could also hear people while you get your massage, which made it slightly uncomfortable. Won't go to this location again. I began regularly going to Massage Envy almost two years ago while they were running their $49.99 introductory massage promotion; While it started out a little rough with trying to find the right therapist to match my needs and preferences all has since become great. You really have to have patience in finding the right person who can listen and work with you. I've had the same therapist now for almost a year and I hate it when I need to reschedule with someone else. She's a very popular therapist and books over a month in advance, most of the time I'd rather wait or combine credits for a 2-hr massage with her than go with someone else. She's super friendly, very Zen, and has an awesome accent. I've had only a few notable experiences that were annoying to me. One therapist hadn't trimmed her nails down and was scraping my skin frequently during the massage. Another I had to keep asking to soften her strength a bit as it was hurting more than relaxing. The top most complaint I've ever had with this location, and I spoke to a manager about it, was a therapist texting during my 1-hr massage. I was highly agitated that someone would do that during my paid hour session. I don't know if she assumed I was zonked out or what, but all I could hear through half of my massage was the clicking of buttons. The massage sucked, too. I didn't tip her and I did get a free massage out of the ordeal. Not to mention it's an invasion of privacy pulling out a cellular device while someone is lying face down nude in front of you (okay, covered by a blanket - but seriously...a little unsettling). The front desk staff has always been friendly. Most of them know me and check me in before I even reach the desk. Only a few times have they asked me about promotional products or add-ons; I'm glad they aren't pushy with the extra sales. Massage Envy as a company should offer perks for their pre-existing members that pay the base $59.99 each month. I think that after so long clients should start earning points towards products or additional time for their massage. Something to hold incentive to stay with Massage Envy once the contract ends. Although, you get no notification as to when your contract is up, something that kind of bugs me, and you're auto-enrolled into another year. I'm hoping it's easy enough to call and find out when/how to cancel or end my services when/if the time arises. All in all, I'm a happy customer. There's been very few drawbacks to this location. Only enough to dock one star (half if it'd of let me just do that). read more
