I went in for a couples massage with my husband but I'm not sure if the room was occupied or if they just don't have a couples room. Either way, we still wanted our massage so we went in two separate rooms right next to each other. The room was dark with the exception of a small light in the corner. I felt like it was enough to see though. If you like DEEP massages, then this is the place for you because they go HARD. First, I'd like to mention that the below review by Vi D is spot on. If you've never visited an oriental massage establishment before, read his review prior to visiting. This place is truly a hidden gem. From my experiences with places like this, they are either a little sloppy (meaning they look shady but are instead just cheap horrible massage joints) or they are scams (they advertise cheap prices but after the massage ask for more). The good news is that these descriptions do not define this place. Upon entering one notices that the décor, wall color, and smell combine to paint a picture of legitimacy. The masseuse greets you and ushers you back to a secluded room. The hallway is dimly lit and as you pass each room you notice that they are all postured for business. Each room has a warm welcoming ora that contains a table, chair, coat rack, and another table with various massage oils and items all arranged in an orderly fashion. The masseuse was very attentive. She did not talk except to ask how the pressure was and if the stones were too hot. I tend to get cold feet (literally) when being massaged. She noticed that right away and covered both feet to ensure I remained comfortable (it's the little things). She started with my back, then moved to my legs, and after flipping on my back she massaged my legs and feet. Overall, the massage was wonderfully relaxing. In the end, she did not ask if I wanted more time or try to wrangle a large tip out of me. She provided me with a bottle of water and told me the price ($60 but I gave her $80). Her name was Hilan and she was very courteous and extremely nice. (I apologize for not spelling her name correctly but I want to make sure she gets the credit she deserves.) I've been coming to this place for 3 years now and I always have great experiences and consistent services from the staff especially Phoebe. My preferred service is deep tissue massage and I would always go for the hard approach to help loosen the stubborn knots on my back and arms. Recently, I've tried their cupping method, and after the initial sting, I felt immense relief in my body. Now I know why a lot of athletes also prefer cupping. The different types of essential oils used during the massage is amazing and very relaxing. I used to go to the malls to have my monthly massage done but since I discovered this place, I've been a regular customer. I don't even have words other than the massage I just had at this establishment was the worse massage I have ever had in 30 years of having massages. The pressure used was so excessive! Digging into every inch of my back, legs and face! The guy used his elbows the majority of the time. My face even looks bruised! I'm not sure who gave the stellar ratings before me, but I can tell you it wasn't for the same guy I had! And it wasn't just me... the lady in the room next to me was clearly in pain as well. Made a last minute appt and I was happy they were able to accommodate, Helen was my masseuse and she did a great job! She worked on all my muscle knots, I left relieve and my body felt lighter after the massage. I'm giving 4 starts due to I wish the rooms have actual doors it just feels more comfortable and private that way since your pretty much naked . I definitely don't recommend this place. Went in for a one hour massage. They didn't ask me anything before the massage started (sometimes they do and sometimes they don't at places like this). She started with my shoulders and asked how it was. I asked her to increase the pressure, she did not. She then proceeded to use hot stones to add pressure which usually I don't mind, but that's she only used the stones for the entire upper body. I felt like she wasted time messing with the stones instead of on my massage. When she moved down the lower body though she used ZERO pressure, just rubbed on some oil then washed it off. I definitely walked out in the same amount of pain as I walked in with, with NO relief at all. Two other awkward things: 1. She stayed in the room while I undressed. I understand they are going to see you naked no matter what, I just thought it was strange she stayed in and watched me get undressed, didn't even turn around. 2. While I signed the receipt and added the tip she stood there and watched to see how much I wrote down. Typically I tip pretty high at places like this because the cost is pretty cheap. I had LiLi and she was fantastic. Couple of notes: -the pressure is hard. I really like hard pressure so it was exactly what I wanted but she did ask repeatedly if it was ok. This place is a hidden gem... but you have to know what you're getting into so you don't leave disappointed. 1. VERY DEEP MASSAGES AND HEAVY KNEADING!!! The intensity level is HIGH... like a really good pain. If you like soft, gentle massages, this may not be the place for you. 2. RESPECT THEIR CULTURE Typically, older Asian masseuses don't like to talk. I'm Asian and this is pretty standard with my older aunts and uncles. They aren't trying to be rude. They will ask what level of intensity or how hard you want the massage to be and then they want you to peacefully relax, i.e. don't talk to them. Don't take it personally if they don't make conversation. BUT... if there are areas you want to be sure they massage, let them know. The last time I went in, I asked for a deep neck/shoulder massage. 24 hours later and I'm still sore, but pleasantly so and my neck is no longer tight. 3. THE ROUTINE Once you walk in, they will greet you briefly, confirm your appointment, and then walk you to your room, slide the curtains closed (often time without saying a word). Undress fully (unless you want to stay in underwear) and cover yourself with the thin bedsheet on the table. Close your eyes and try to relax. Someone will come in (maybe not even say hello) and ask "how long" and you say 30/60/90 min. If you're not sensitive to hot stones, make sure you request this at the end of your massage!!! Once they say "all done", make sure to take a few minutes for yourself before getting up. They will give you a small bottle of water. 4. TIP YOUR MASSEUSE!!! 20%. I paid her $60 for 60min and then left a $20 tip- this is their livelihood and a few extra bucks here is still cheaper than a $100 lame massage (tip not included) elsewhere. 5. BRING CASH They accept credit cards but there's a fee. I forgot how much (about $3) because I paid in cash. Sorry so long. But I hope this helps. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

I was having back trouble and told the lady that i only wanted lower back and shoulders massaged. For 60 minutes. The first 15 minutes were ok. Not great, just marginal. She then insisted I roll over to do the front. I told her I only wanted my back. She was commanding me to roll over. I refused and started to dress to go home. Sh went and got her manager. As soon I walked into the establishment I could tell every measure has been taken to keep this business extremely clean, sanitized, and disinfected! Staff were wearing masks and before I could say anything "may I take your temperature please" was the 1st thing said to me. Finally, a place in all of this pandemic madness where you can relax and be pampered and close out the world! My masseuse was Jenny, she was incredible! I have had massages before but no one has so been so attentive and naturally in tune as to where my tension is and the amount of pressure to use to work out knots and other tight areas in my back, neck, and shoulders. Different types of technique were used during my 60 minute massage. Ranging from effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, friction, and vibration. She used deep tissue, hot stones, and the stone part of the massage was wonderful the stones were used to loosen tight muscles. Even though I asked for focus on my back the massage was full body, even my fingertips were massaged. There were points during the massage where I actually got goosebumps not because I was cold (the room was heated to the perfect temperature) but because my body was feeling relief in those areas! After the massage a very warm damp towel was placed on my back and used to wipe off any oil left on from the massage. I left feeling like my body had a tune up! Great value for the price you pay. Sometimes I don't feel like I get my moneys worth at a massage place because they are not able to really work out all the kinks with good pressure. They have rails set up so that you can have the person walk on your back for those that need that additional weight to work out the knots. The massage was pretty hard and brutal, but she did kept checking with me to make sure I was okay. I visited Gunston Massage today for the first time, to receive a deep tissue massage. I'll start by saying that the massage, which was performed by Joy, was one of the best deep tissue massages that I have experienced to-date. Joy was able to quickly relieve the tension which seems to manifest itself in my upper left shoulder muscles. But the massage was mediocre at best. I asked for a deep tissue massage and I got a lot of elbows jammed into my back & way too much oil.
