I've tried several massage places in the area, including the big chains, and this one is by far my favorite. I've been coming here for years and have watched them expand their services and remodel to include private rooms instead of just curtain dividers. They offer Thai, sports, and my go-to deep tissue massages. During this visit, I opted for a 60-minute massage and a 60-minute facial. The massage included hot stones and soothing scented oils, making it extra relaxing. Phoebe always takes great care of me, appointments are easy to schedule, and the staff is flexible, accommodating your available time. If you're looking for a traditional oriental massage with professional, attentive staff in a comfortable, private setting, I highly recommend this place. read more

Josephine was very attentive to my needs. Very communicative with people. Highly recommend!

I went in for a couples massage with my husband but I'm not sure if the room was occupied or if they just don't have a couples room. Either way, we still wanted our massage so we went in two separate rooms right next to each other. The room was dark with the exception of a small light in the corner. I felt like it was enough to see though. If you like DEEP massages, then this is the place for you because they go HARD. I had to ask like 3 times if they could do it softer, but I'm just weak. read more

First, I'd like to mention that the below review by Vi D is spot on. If you've never visited an oriental massage establishment before, read his review prior to visiting. This place is truly a hidden gem. From my experiences with places like this, they are either a little sloppy (meaning they look shady but are instead just cheap horrible massage joints) or they are scams (they advertise cheap prices but after the massage ask for more). The good news is that these descriptions do not define this place. Upon entering one notices that the décor, wall color, and smell combine to paint a picture of legitimacy. The masseuse greets you and ushers you back to a secluded room. The hallway is dimly lit and as you pass each room you notice that they are all postured for business. Each room has a warm welcoming ora that contains a table, chair, coat rack, and another table with various massage oils and items all arranged in an orderly fashion. The masseuse was very attentive. She did not talk except to ask how the pressure was and if the stones were too hot. I tend to get cold feet (literally) when being massaged. She noticed that right away and covered both feet to ensure I remained comfortable (it's the little things). She started with my back, then moved to my legs, and after flipping on my back she massaged my legs and feet. Overall, the massage was wonderfully relaxing. In the end, she did not ask if I wanted more time or try to wrangle a large tip out of me. She provided me with a bottle of water and told me the price ($60 but I gave her $80). Her name was Hilan and she was very courteous and extremely nice. (I apologize for not spelling her name correctly but I want to make sure she gets the credit she deserves.) I will definitely be back. If you're hesitant, don't be. Go and enjoy a cheap but tasteful massage this week. Enjoy! read more

Oriental Massage - Business front. - Massage Therapy Near Me - Woodbridge, Virginia

From the moment I stepped in the parlor to the massage experience to the facial. Everything was so clean and Miss phoebe was so accommodating and friendly. She asked me if I was comfortable. If the temperature of the bed or the pressure of the massage was enough. She really took her time to take care of me and my needs. I definitely recommend and I will definitely come back! read more

*UPDATE* I also had a random person message me claiming to be helping the owner or manager figure out what happened. Gave me a phone number to call to discuss this further. Very inappropriate. I stand by my original review. See below. This place is DISGUSTING! I'd made an appointment through Yelp, but she knew nothing of this appointment. Then she says to me she has girls available. Did I not have an appointment already? After walking back to a room that was so dark I could hardly see my hands, I realized the ceiling was open. She didn't turn on a lamp. I didn't see one on the table. No music playing, no aromatherapy, just the guy next to me getting jerked off. YES, you read that right! Definitely didn't sound like a massage! I had to leave. I wish I'd taken a pic of how dark it was. It was nothing like the pics you see. I just wanted out of there as fast as possible! read more

I don't even have words other than the massage I just had at this establishment was the worse massage I have ever had in 30 years of having massages. The pressure used was so excessive! Digging into every inch of my back, legs and face! The guy used his elbows the majority of the time. My face even looks bruised! I'm not sure who gave the stellar ratings before me, but I can tell you it wasn't for the same guy I had! And it wasn't just me... the lady in the room next to me was clearly in pain as well. The wall weren't completely up to the ceiling so you heard EVERYTHING! Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! What a joke! The longest 60 minutes of my life! Whoever regulates spas needs to check this place out! As there is no way these people have message licenses! NO WAY! read more

Oriental Massage - Massage Therapy Near Me - Woodbridge, Virginia

I've been coming to this place for 3 years now and I always have great experiences and consistent services from the staff especially Phoebe. My preferred service is deep tissue massage and I would always go for the hard approach to help loosen the stubborn knots on my back and arms. Recently, I've tried their cupping method, and after the initial sting, I felt immense relief in my body. Now I know why a lot of athletes also prefer cupping. The different types of essential oils used during the massage is amazing and very relaxing. I used to go to the malls to have my monthly massage done but since I discovered this place, I've been a regular customer. I also brought my family and friends to this place to get the rejuvenation they needed and they all love Oriental Massage. I definitely recommend this business if you're looking for an alternative approach to help relieve stress, improve blood flow, and just do an overall pampering. I also learned that they do acupuncture now, so yes, I will try as well and their facial as well. It's a one stop self care shop for me. read more

Made a last minute appt and I was happy they were able to accommodate, Helen was my masseuse and she did a great job! She worked on all my muscle knots, I left relieve and my body felt lighter after the massage. I'm giving 4 starts due to I wish the rooms have actual doors it just feels more comfortable and private that way since your pretty much naked . I also wish the rooms are infused with aroma oil or something that smells relaxing it will help with the "spa feels" and lastly , options for fragrance oil to buy to use for the massage but other than that i love my service and first experience at this spa. read more

I definitely don't recommend this place. Went in for a one hour massage. They didn't ask me anything before the massage started (sometimes they do and sometimes they don't at places like this). She started with my shoulders and asked how it was. I asked her to increase the pressure, she did not. She then proceeded to use hot stones to add pressure which usually I don't mind, but that's she only used the stones for the entire upper body. I felt like she wasted time messing with the stones instead of on my massage. When she moved down the lower body though she used ZERO pressure, just rubbed on some oil then washed it off. I definitely walked out in the same amount of pain as I walked in with, with NO relief at all. Two other awkward things: 1. She stayed in the room while I undressed. I understand they are going to see you naked no matter what, I just thought it was strange she stayed in and watched me get undressed, didn't even turn around. 2. While I signed the receipt and added the tip she stood there and watched to see how much I wrote down. Typically I tip pretty high at places like this because the cost is pretty cheap. Not this time, I did half what I usually would have tipped. It was definitely strange to see her hover. read more

I was looking for a good massage place and did not care for the all the pampering. I workout very often so I needed a place to work out the kinks. I came here after much research and was delighted. I had LiLi and she was fantastic. Couple of notes: -the pressure is hard. I really like hard pressure so it was exactly what I wanted but she did ask repeatedly if it was ok. I grunted a lot but I told her it was good grunts. -it's a no-frills experience. Again I was looking for this but if you like pampering and this and that then you may not enjoy this place. Overall, I plan to come many more times in the future! It is a clean, comfortable facility and I received a fantastic massage! Also, this place has the best prices I've seen for a massage which includes hot stones! Highly recommend! read more

This place is a hidden gem... but you have to know what you're getting into so you don't leave disappointed. 1. VERY DEEP MASSAGES AND HEAVY KNEADING!!! The intensity level is HIGH... like a really good pain. If you like soft, gentle massages, this may not be the place for you. 2. RESPECT THEIR CULTURE Typically, older Asian masseuses don't like to talk. I'm Asian and this is pretty standard with my older aunts and uncles. They aren't trying to be rude. They will ask what level of intensity or how hard you want the massage to be and then they want you to peacefully relax, i.e. don't talk to them. Don't take it personally if they don't make conversation. BUT... if there are areas you want to be sure they massage, let them know. The last time I went in, I asked for a deep neck/shoulder massage. 24 hours later and I'm still sore, but pleasantly so and my neck is no longer tight. 3. THE ROUTINE Once you walk in, they will greet you briefly, confirm your appointment, and then walk you to your room, slide the curtains closed (often time without saying a word). Undress fully (unless you want to stay in underwear) and cover yourself with the thin bedsheet on the table. Close your eyes and try to relax. Someone will come in (maybe not even say hello) and ask "how long" and you say 30/60/90 min. If you're not sensitive to hot stones, make sure you request this at the end of your massage!!! Once they say "all done", make sure to take a few minutes for yourself before getting up. They will give you a small bottle of water. 4. TIP YOUR MASSEUSE!!! 20%. I paid her $60 for 60min and then left a $20 tip- this is their livelihood and a few extra bucks here is still cheaper than a $100 lame massage (tip not included) elsewhere. 5. BRING CASH They accept credit cards but there's a fee. I forgot how much (about $3) because I paid in cash. Sorry so long. But I hope this helps. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

ONE OF THE MOST BIZARRE EXETIENCES EVER!! I visited this establishment on a whim to see how good their services were. I was having back trouble and told the lady that i only wanted lower back and shoulders massaged. For 60 minutes. The first 15 minutes were ok. Not great, just marginal. She then insisted I roll over to do the front. I told her I only wanted my back. She was commanding me to roll over. I refused and started to dress to go home. Sh went and got her manager. They both tried to come into th room while I was dressing. Two times I had to close the door on them to keep them away eventhough I was still dressing. read more

I used my Christmas gift and got my massage asap! My back has been in pain for so long, (years actually). As soon I walked into the establishment I could tell every measure has been taken to keep this business extremely clean, sanitized, and disinfected! Staff were wearing masks and before I could say anything "may I take your temperature please" was the 1st thing said to me. Finally, a place in all of this pandemic madness where you can relax and be pampered and close out the world! My masseuse was Jenny, she was incredible! I have had massages before but no one has so been so attentive and naturally in tune as to where my tension is and the amount of pressure to use to work out knots and other tight areas in my back, neck, and shoulders. Different types of technique were used during my 60 minute massage. Ranging from effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, friction, and vibration. She used deep tissue, hot stones, and the stone part of the massage was wonderful the stones were used to loosen tight muscles. Even though I asked for focus on my back the massage was full body, even my fingertips were massaged. There were points during the massage where I actually got goosebumps not because I was cold (the room was heated to the perfect temperature) but because my body was feeling relief in those areas! After the massage a very warm damp towel was placed on my back and used to wipe off any oil left on from the massage. I left feeling like my body had a tune up! I will be back again and I can't thank Jenny enough for the beginning me finally feeling better! You have to experience this for yourself! read more

A real oriental deep tissue massage! Not one of those massage chains. Definitely releases muscle tension. They work on your sore tender muscles which is what I've been looking for. Definitely something I have been looking for and will definitely be going back for more. read more

The lady that massaged me was very rude. Too bad I Forgot to get her name. She kept forcing me to give her the $25 suggested tip on my 90mins massage. Tips are optional and is given to you heartily not forcefully. Massage fees on its own are already expensive. Forcing people to give you $25 tip are way too much. Will never go back as long as that lady is there!!! She's killing your business. read more

Great value for the price you pay. Sometimes I don't feel like I get my moneys worth at a massage place because they are not able to really work out all the kinks with good pressure. They have rails set up so that you can have the person walk on your back for those that need that additional weight to work out the knots. In an hour massage the did a very thorough head to toe front and back massage that I think anyone would enjoy. I am glad to have found this place after trying a few others. This will likely be where I go now regularly. read more

Language barrier made the experience a little difficult. I kept trying to communicate that I wanted to focus on my neck but that didn't get communicated well. The massage was pretty hard and brutal, but she did kept checking with me to make sure I was okay. I think I'd give this place one more try since the price is great and definitely some potential if language barrier was removed. Perhaps I'll learn a few words in Chinese before going (I only know Korean) and I feel that may have been the language predominantly used. Perhaps another try with a new person can work out read more

I visited Gunston Massage today for the first time, to receive a deep tissue massage. I'll start by saying that the massage, which was performed by Joy, was one of the best deep tissue massages that I have experienced to-date. Joy was able to quickly relieve the tension which seems to manifest itself in my upper left shoulder muscles. Along with some Thai-yoga-like stretching, and the meditative environment within the massage room, the massage was just plain outstanding. I'll definitely continue to take advantage of this massage service. read more

Magnificent. We have had many massages in many places and this easily compares to the very best. Deep tissue, hot stones, hot towels- in a very pleasant, professional, and soothing environment! English was a bit of a challenge, so if you have never had a massage before and don't already know what to expect, let them know. I personally don't like chatting during a massage so i found it wonderful and relaxing. FYI, cash payment is preferred but they do accept credit cards; tips are preferred in cash. So thrilled to find this shop- we will be regular clients! read more

I'm not sure why this place has no stars, but glad to be the first person to give them I live in North Stafford but work in Woodbridge, after a hectic week and a much needed massage I called on a Wednesday to find availability on Friday. To my surprise I can honestly say this was an exceptional massage! Jenny did an amazing job! The price was reasonable and the staff was professional. I will be adding this "self care" to my life quarterly. Trust me you won't be disappointed. Oh!! They are running a special for Memorial weekend, give them a call. read more

This is one of the best massage places I've ever been to if you are looking for a deep tissue massage this is the place!!!!

Cons: 1. Over priced with no on-going specials. 2. Did not show equal attention to my entire body, just back. Never asked what I was there for. Did not massage my shoulders or feet and massage me while the sheet was on top on me. That's weird to me. 3. Language Barrier Pros: 1. Clean environment 2. They include hot stone 3. Very friendly I wouldn't go back but maybe it was just my masseuse that wasn't good. I'll never know. read more

I just moved, and recovering from surgery, so I'm out of shape. They had an opening, and did a PHENOMENAL job! Very professional and courteous! I have a high tolerance for pain, but I highly recommend in you have deep knots, let them work it out. Sore spots breathe in your nose, and out of your mouth until you relax. Stop by or make an appointment! You won't be disappointed! I did 60 minutes but I usually do 90 but I'm usually not this sore. read more

Amazing massage by Lilly! I had knee surgery last Nov and have had pain on that side for months now. She did a very deep tissue massage that was just right for me. I like a very deep massage so it may be too much for some people but she was very kind and asked me if the pressure was ok. It included hot stones and hot towels. And a complimentary water at the end. Perfect massage. Will definitely be back. read more

I tried this establishment because I read good reviews about it, however this was my first experience and it will be my last. The massage was $72 for one hour and not $62. But the massage was mediocre at best. I asked for a deep tissue massage and I got a lot of elbows jammed into my back & way too much oil. Perhaps, it was a bad masseuse on a bad day, but I didn't receive any of the treatment described in previous reviews. I am usually pretty generous with reviews and tend to give the benefit of the doubt. But I couldn't this time. read more
