11/4/23 BACKGROUND: I've done Thai massage, deep-tissue massage, Lomi massage throughout the years. My husband and I are in town visiting friends. We decided last minute to do a massage. I didn't go for the ambiance, I wanted a good massage. Walls do not go all the way to the ceiling so you can techinically hear conversations in the adjoining rooms. Not a problem as we knew everyone. There is no door on the room, just a sliding curtain. I requested a female.. Most places will ask you to remove your clothes but leave your bottom underwear on. They instructed to remove everything , but I left my underwear on because that's what I'm comfortable with. I like medium pressure because that's what I feel benefits me. Not necessarily immediately, but I feel it later. It was a 1 hr massage. I started off under the sheet as with most places. Most will massage over the sheet. This one was actually akin to skin. This is the first time I literally had a head to toe deep massage. Areas that's not the usual areas were: buttocks area, face, along neck up to scalp. I could feel knots that I didn't know existed . If you're not comfortable just say no. I was ok as I got a female. My husband requested a make, but if he had a female , he would not have liked it. A good therapist can find all the tough spots without asking. You do need to communicate if pressure is too hard or soft or if it hurts , say ow. All 4 of us LOVED our massages. This location is well kept and the staff is professional and courteous. I have been going for a while and all the massages have been great thus far. My favorite masseuses there are Joanna and Joy. I normally get the two hours version and they provide great therapy for the entire session. They find kinks and knots I wasn't aware of. I've been going here for massages for years and don't plan on stopping. The rooms are very clean. The staff is absolutely fantastic and the massages are perfect. I've read in a few reviews that someone was unhappy with the amount of pressure or the style of the massage. Trust me....every therapist there wants your experience to be a great one. Feel free to direct them to your targeted areas and tell them if you want it more firm or softer. They will adjust accordingly. So... remember. Life is short and stressful. Pamper yourself often. I booked a 90-minute deep tissue massage after talking to the boss who recommended Lulu as the best at that type of massage. The first 30 minutes was pretty promising, but she seemed to run out of steam. The remaining hour was so-so and rather "incomplete" because I felt imbalanced, like she had ignored significant muscle groups that a thorough massage would include. Near the end, she said I had five minutes left and tried to upsell me another 30 minutes. (I have an idea what that might have included.) I said, "Maybe next time." When I paid on my way out, I charged the advertised fee on my credit card and handed her a 20% cash tip. She looked at the cash and asked (with disappointed eyes and voice inflection), "Is that all?" I said yes. She said, "I worked very hard." I said, "I know. That's why I gave you that tip." She was clearly not happy. And neither was I. I won't go back. With hindsight, I thought maybe I should have asked for the cash back, since 20% was apparently so disappointing to her. read more

I am no expert on how massages work, but this is my experience. I had major back surgery in 2017 and have been getting back massages for about 2 years now because my lumbar area and hips get so tight from the loss in range of motion. I am on the "bigger" side of average and like the deep tissue massages. For the most part they always ask you prior what intensity you would like. The atmosphere is very calming and the ease of being able to walk in or set up a time after my kids have gone to bed is really helpful. They even have a "punch card" after so many visits you get a discounted massage. I usually like to get an hour massage and it definitely feels like a full hours worth. My favorite parts are when they massage your hand and pop your fingers. It makes a funny sound and feels great since I spend a lot of time working with a keyboard, changing diapers, or fixing things around the house/woodworking. I can see how they might not be for everyone, but if you are like me and have really tight muscles or like really deep tissue massages this is definitely the place. read more

Massage went well but once again, they don't speak English so I can't direct them to the areas. I want them to concentrate on. Also had difficulty making the next appointment and if you don't pay cash, they charge you a fee for the credit card. Very frustrating. I've tried a number of places and the issue was communication. I asked for a deep tissue massage and a referral. I was told everyone was good. When I got there I didn't have to fill out an intake form and was not asked where my problem areas are. As a massage therapist, that's a red flag. I was desperate for relief from pain so I gave it a try. The therapist gave me an hour massage laying down, which is contraindicated for my back condition. I tried to turn when I was in pain and was asked to turn over for the hot stones (though they can be done on the front as well). The therapist spent 3-5 minutes outside the room during my 90 minute session. She left twice; once to get hot stones and the second time to get a hot towel (though there was a hot towel caddy in the room). That's unprofessional; they should be prepared for clients as they knew before the session began that they'd be used. At the bare minimum that time should be added to the end of the session. We started at 5 after and the therapist used mostly light and occasional medium pressure. She never checked in with me on pressure and when I tried to chat with her there was a language barrier. The therapist shaved 8-10 minutes off my terrible massage session. She kept doing the same motion over and over until it felt like I was bruised in that area (and then she'd keep going). The ambiance was the final nail in the coffin. No rooms, open environment. I heard an employee whispering and other conversations throughout. Not relaxing at all. I would love a refund. When I try a "local" massage place that isn't one of the branded chains, it's like roulette, taking a chance that you won't just waste your time and money. Even if the place has decent reviews- staff can turnover, management changes, so much can happen and you just never know. But CH Massage is a great little find that's pulling me away from the chains. It was a recommendation I got that made me stop in, and I'm glad I did. Miss Lilly was the lady who labored on my back, using her elbows, forearms and fingers to relieve the tightness and kinks I brought through door with me. But 55 min later I was relaxed and feeling as if I had made A serious mistake by not securing Miss Lilly's elbows for 90 mins or even 2 hours. There's always next week! read more

Was kind of hesitant to visit this place after reading the reviews but I decided to go about a month ago for the first time I was very pleased! I go to the gym often and just need a relaxing massage from time to time. Masseuses are very nice and in my opinion, they know what they're doing. I would recommend this place. read more

I made an appointment for a deep tissue massage. My masseuse didn't really know what she was doing. The massage was not thorough nor did it help that she couldn't understand what I was trying to tell her. The massage was basic at a rub down and hardly got a deep tissue massage. I almost walked out but I figured maybe it would get better, it didn't. She ran out of time and the last two minutes told me to turn over to speed it all up. When I paid I told the lady at the counter I had asked for deep tissue but the masseuse didn't know how to give a deep tissue massage and told her I was disappointed. This place is amazing. They are knowledgeable and know what they are doing .... Very friendly atmosphere and all therapists they have are good, talk to you very professionally. Price is very reasonable first time i even forget to give tip and feel bad later but no body ask be for tip next time I apologise with the therapist and she said thats totally fine, she was very nice and kind with me i always very comfortable with her and she is very good .... This place is a hidden gem. You won't be impressed with the plaza or the storefront but it gives a real massage, not the type they sell you at the chains that want you to sign up for a yearly contract. They actually use their whole body weight and elbows to give you the full amount of pressure and adjustment. It was wonderfully relaxing and worked out all of the kinks in my back. I've had massages for years and this was the best I've ever had. The salon is small and intimate. There are only a few rooms and they are done Asian style, open at the top with a double set of heavy curtains over the doors. They are clean, fresh and open with nicely dimmed lighting. There is not a lot of fuss and muss with intake forms or anything else. You go in, tell them the type of massage you want or what your issue is and they will work it out. They are reasonably priced and you get a lot during your hour. Know that the staff is Asian but they all speak English so their is no communication problem. read more

False advertisement and horrible massage! i took my girlfriend there for her bday and we went to take advantage of the $45/hour massage, as soon as we told her what we wanted she immediately stated that the $45 is not good and that it's really soft and that we should get the $60 one. I told her no we just want the $45 and she insisted again. when she started massaging my neck, she was doing it so softly that i felt cheated and in an awkward position, i couldve gotten up and left but i was there for her bday present. so i told her to do the $60 deep tissue and it was really bad. And it's not our first time getting a massage. she was using her elbows for most of the massage and the lady that was working on my gf left twice in the middle of massage!! and on the way out they kept asking for a tip which was SOOO rude!! read more

it's really a gamble coming here. sometimes ok sometimes not. after the last time, asking for a medium pressure (NOT deep etc) i came home with bruises all over my back. i don't have any condition that would cause that like bruising easily etc. not going here again. that's not ok. read more

This was my first and last experience at this place. I made an appointment at 4:30. I was taken straight to the back. However the massage therapist kept getting interrupted to have other conversations with other workers. This happened around 5 times. Her hands were very not, definitely not a Deep tissue massage. 10 minutes before my massage was over she answered the phone from another customer. Not professional at all, poor massage. It was my first time at this place. I'm new to the area and had bad neck and back pain for days. I called late in the evening, made an appointment within the hour. Very nice and clean, the masseuse already knew what I wanted a deep tissue, and 90 minutes so she had time to focus on upper back and neck and still do a full body. I feel so much better and was amazed that the neck pain was gone within the session. I am so happy I found this place. The prices are very reasonable and you get a pretty decent massage. I've done both the foot massage and the "whole body," both are great and provide the feel good pain. Probably one of the best foot massages I've ever had!!! So relaxing and tranquil. I decided to go today for a massage to give them a try. First off, I was told by the receptionist that the $45 dollar price advertised was for a "very light" massage. She said it in a way that let me know that it wasn't worth paying for; I would need to pay $65 for a decent massage, ugh. There are better deals in Woodbridge and I didn't want to pay $65 for a service I had not tried. I asked for 30 minutes session, but instead being given the $35 dollar price on their website I was told it would cost $40 dollars. The receptionist didn't explain anything, there was no consultation of any kind. I was shown a room and that was it. The room was neat and clean. The female masseuse came in but went right to work, she was kind enough to put my hair in a hair clip for me, but there was no introduction or consultation about what I needed. I was given a deep tissue massage (I was told this at the end) which at times felt like an "Indian burn" against my skin because there wasn't enough oil used. I endured the pain and was glad I didn't get the 60 minute deal. However, she was thorough and friendly. I tipped her $10. In all honestly, I don't feel compelled to return and will most likely continue my search for a great massage in the area. read more

A friend of mine had schedule two appointments for both of us, 90 minutes each. I was excited because he went out of his way to set up a massage for both of us and I trusted his judgement along with the fact that he mentioned that this place had good service. Finally got there and was ready for my massage. The masseuse who was working on me started out strong, and asked if I was "ok" - it was exactly what I was hoping to get. Started on my back, good strong pressure and working down. Went through the rounds a few times and then she started slacking 30 minutes through. I asked her if she could apply more pressure so she worked with her elbows, that was great. After 10 minutes, she wasn't evening doing any kneading, it felt like she was patting my thighs. I then asked her AGAIN, if she could please apply more pressure - started using elbows again, awesome. Flipped over. Got oiled. She was literally rubbing my skin. It was not a massage. THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS FACING UP!! There was no kneading or pressure. I got tired of asking her again and started thinking to myself the rest of the 30 minutes that I was getting this horrible service, how a good massage was suppose to actually be like. I've had much more decent service than this. I was paying $90 dollars to have oil rubbed on me and patted down. The time was finally up. I got to the front and Angela, I believe that was her name. She was taking payment. Did not once ask me how my service was. My friend looked at my expecting to hear how awesome it was, I later told him how it was after I left - he said I didn't look good. I tipped the lady $5, just to be nice. Angela and whoever was my masseuse looked at each other and started speaking Chinese. I am sure they were commenting over all this while I was standing there WITH them. She mumbled something along the lines of "this is not tip". Angela, pointed at a small sign and said this is how much you're "suppose" to tip. I didn't want to cause any commotion and just wanted to leave, it seemed like my friend had gotten much better service. My friend did indeed get better service only because specifically asked for who he wanted, and even that person ended up showing a little later because she wasn't available initially. What was the point of scheduling an appointment?? This place is poorly run and isn't professional. That is the worst service I ever had. I could have done all that myself, I just need a bottle of oil and I can rubbed myself all over. The fact that they were charging that much for poor service and basically DEMANDING for more money is robbery. I left that place feeling the same way I felt walking in. My back was a little worked up, that was it. Whoever is interested in getting a massage at this business and is willing to try it out. **Here what you should expect so you aren't too disappointed** - Poor service - Them trying to milk the time - Asking for EXTRA TIP and BEING TOLD HOW TO TIP - Horrible follow-through If you're feeling generous and wanted to donate your money to this business, give these guys a shot. I wish I would have read these reviews before visiting this place for the second time. I had been here once before for the massage "special" they run and found it to be so light it was a waste of my money but I blamed myself for not asking for more pressure. I went there again because I knew the price was good and told myself I would just ask for more pressure this time. I tried to tell her what I wanted but she said "You don't want that. It is a bad massage. You want the better massage that is more expensive." Well crap- that's not really what I wanted to spend but I was already there so I just decided to end up paying the $60 instead of $45. I have NEVER felt more uncomfortable in any experience let alone massage. I have had many massages before and prefer to keep my underwear on and it's NEVER been a problem for the therapist to work around them. This lady YANKED them down to my mid thighs. I spend the entire massage with my underwear at my mid thighs feeling as if she was about to do something inappropriate. I would have rather just been completely naked had I known I would spend my entire massage with my underwear like that. At some point in the massage she actually got on TOP of me and STRADDLED me to massage me for quite some time. After several minutes of straddling she ever sat on my butt while she continued to massage my back. Um.....what?! Again, I've had MANY massages and this just takes the cake for unprofessionalism. I don't know which thing is worse but I wanted to get the hell out of there QUICK. I hurried up, put my clothes on and headed for the front. The whole massage I was wondering what I should do about the tip because it was so awful. After ALL THAT I still thought to myself that she was doing physical work for the last hour and should tip her. There was another girl ringing me out while my therapist stood next to her. She asked me if I wanted to add a tip to the bill and I told her an amount that was equal to tipping her 15% (not 20% but not 0% which I really wanted to give) The lady stopped what she was doing and just stared at me while holding my credit card in the air and said "ohhhhh that's SO little!!!!" Excuse me???? I just stood there and stared at her because I refused to give a bigger tip after what I went through. Again she said "oh man that's nothing" and continued to run my credit card through. yes the advertisement is false, $45/hr is actually just "soft" massage, what is that? its actually $60/hr for a crappy 45 min massage, they cheat you on time then expect a tip, this place is nonsense. i dressed and paid and argued with the lady before my hour was up, she even showed me in the book where she marked down the time we started and i showed her my time, there was still after all that 5 min left before the hour was up. she said, oh sorry, we can finish...nope. im already dressed, the massage sucked and she wasnt getting a tip, in my line of work, i have to have a 1 hr massage every week, i found a great place and ill never come back here even though its only 3 min from my shop. read more

This is one of the best massages I have ever received. My massage therapist,Amy, was very attuned my request for more pressure in the lower back area where I was hurting and less pressure in other areas where I was looking more for a relaxation effect. I would not recommend! My experience was awful. This massage was not relaxing or offer any relief. When I asked for firmer pressure I was informed that any pressure used is considered deep tissue. However, I've had swedish massages with firmer pressure than their deep tissue. I will not spend my money here again!! read more
