I was behind the 8 ball in a major way with getting my massages done (about 8 months) due to excruciating wide spread joint pain from fibromyalgia. By the time Carol got her hands on my I was twisted & knotted up MESS! Did you catch that...I WAS... Carol is AMAZING!!! I travel about 50 min to get to her & do it happily! She is worth her weight in gold! She is HIGHLY skilled & how she connects with your body using her fingers, hands, forearms & elbows as her guide will blow your mind! We are now working on scar tissue. NO internal fiber can escape Carol's hands!! She is like a medal detector. Once she gets a "hit" & her "radar" goes off, she gets DOWN in those nooks & crannies & will set you FREE!! Before Carol got her hands on me I could not, without joint pain, twist my torso area, lift my arms above my head, bend over or lift my legs. Now...NOW...I can get into yoga poses I could only DREAM of before!!! Oh yeah....she gives homework assignments. Mine was to do yoga. I communicate with her just like I would my Drs. I don't add to anything without first consulting them. I wanted to start Palaties but she advised against it because palaties is designed to strengthen muscles & at the stage I was in at the time, that would as she explained would strengthen the disfunction I was already dealing with which is the exact opposite of what her goal was for me at that time. I told him directly that I felt uncomfortable with him standing over me like that, but he didn't seem to understand or acknowledge what I was saying due to a language barrier. I had to physically turn the machine toward myself so he couldn't see the screen. This kind of pressure tactic has no place in a service business. Tipping should be a free choice, not something customers feel cornered into. Between the subpar foot massage and the uncomfortable, pushy experience at payment, I can't recommend this location. If they need to work down your back they will place a hand towel on your back just in case your shirt crawls a bit up. My muscles were so tight, they were snap, crackle and popping. She always used her elbows to dig in deep into my muscles and it felt heavenly. Every week, she knew exactly what I needed and addressed the areas that needed the most attention. I was a devout Lisa follower for the next two years. However, a couple months ago I got the most depressing news... Lisa left and went back to China! I was so shocked and saddened. If you are sitting on one of these green benches, you will see one at least one masseur or one masseuse massaging a client. The massage rooms are open ended so you will see who is doing what to you. If you wish to undress to your boxers, think again. Guys, you might be able to remove your shirt, but that is a gamble. The men I saw here looked bored and unhappy. The dude I met with glasses looked like he could give two shits about anything. The back massage I got from him for ten minute massage I received reflected the attitude and expression on his face. Anyhow, I after the first 30 seconds into Lady M's massage, I increase my massage time by five more minutes. I would have gone longer, but I had to go home and get ready for work. You can also book online! Since I was primarily looking to de-stress, I chose the 60-minute Swedish massage with a sugar scrub for hands and feet. (You can also select 90 or 120 minutes.) I received an emailed receipt and an intake form that went over any important health conditions and massage preferences. When I arrived on the evening of my massage, I parked in the back lot. (It's the one to the left.) I walked up the staircase to the second floor and rang the bell, as the sign instructed. Muriel warmly welcomed me to the office. (It's a room divided with panels. A desk area is in the front and the massage table in the back.) We discussed my primary reason for my the massage (relaxation!) and pressure preferences. Muriel brought me to the massage area and showed me where I could put my things. She noted that a heated pad was on the table, and when I told her I loved this kind of heat, she also pulled out an additional body warming pad to use throughout the massage! She made sure the soft music was okay, and there was also a lovely water fountain. Once I got myself settled, Muriel did her magic. She checked to be sure the pressure was okay several times. I didn't fall asleep, but I entered what might be described as a meditative state. It was really peaceful! The sugar scrubs were also very relaxing, and I really loved the hot towels and lotion at the end. My hands and feet are still soft days later! It was exactly what I needed to help my stress to melt away. At the end, she gave me a small bottle of water and chatted for a bit about bookings. Muriel shared that she's now offering a subscription option. For $65 a month (that goes toward a service), you'll get 15% off the regular massage price. (Muriel told me this amount carries over if you miss a month.) I really enjoyed my massage here. I'll definitely be back--especially when I'm stressed out from grading papers!
