Recently came in for a visit- my first time ever at a Massage Envy. I was SO IMPRESSED. Booked a last minute appointment less than 24 hours ahead of time. Came in for general relaxation, but wanted to target some specific areas. Michael was my massage specialist, and he did a FANTASTIC job. He was very communicative with my concerns/areas and ensured I was comfortable through the session. I did request him to add more intensity/pressure in certain areas throughout, and he never hesitated to listen and check-in as we were going. We also did a bit of stretching for the areas I was targeting, and WOW! The stretching feels amazing- so much relief. At the end of my session, he informed me I was more so requesting deep tissue (as I exercise pretty intensely) and he recommended some areas of attention for return visits. I felt he was very knowledgeable and wasn't just trying to get me to come back for the sake of $$$. They do end up offering/selling you a membership if you don't have one, but they didn't feel overly salesy or pushy. I did end up getting a membership after how incredible I felt afterwards! My wife attempted to cancel her membership for a month but received run around when trying to cancel it. She mad multiple calls and spoke to people at the front desk that they would send over the forms to cancel and never did. So she kept calling back and was advised a manager had to send it to her, the manager CHANTAL BROWN refused to call in a timely manner and when she did my wife was unable to answer as at work and when she would return calls the manager was never there or had left early. I had to call for my wife when she was at work and CHANTAL BROWN was rude and accusatory in the way she asked why she was canceling. Due to CHANTAL BROWNS lack of diligence with customer service we'll now get another monthly charge. Do not sign up for a membership with them read more

From the moment of arrived I was warmly welcomed to massage envy. The gentleman that assisted in checking me in, helped me complete my preliminary forms and talked me through any questions. I received both a massage and a facial and both therapist were wonderful and really worked on my "problem" areas. The location was clean, and felt calm. I had a great massage with Hong this evening! I didn't have cash for gratuity, so I used their "Tippy" machine. Evidently, I can't multitask anymore bc while talking to people at the front desk, instead of tipping $30, I tipped $300! ME employees assured me I would get a refund. After Tippy didn't answer their after-hours line, I was told they would pursue and make the situation right. I have been home less than an hour and Rochelle (sorry if I misspelled your name) has already called me to let me know that the refund is in progress and should take 3-5 days. ME will call me back to double-check that it went through. So...I had an excellent massage and stellar customer service! I booked a 90 minute customized facial online and once I arrived, the Business Manager, Matthew, was super fabulous! I felt very welcomed into the establishment. The esthetician (Jackie) completed my facial and she was gentle, professional and has been in her role for 8 years, quite experienced. She provided great conversation and helpful skin advice. My room was clean, smelled good with soothing instrumental music. I felt completely relaxed and face revived, a lovely skin glow! Scam! They will get you to sign up for a membership and conveniently fail to tell you that you're committing to a 1 year contract. Then when you try to cancel the manager, Cecilia, will tell you that you've only paid 2 out of your 12 required payments. Such fraudulent business practices. I will be filing complaints with the BBB, the Texas Attorney General's office and will also notify the consumer reporting divisions of the local news stations. They've likely scammed hundreds of people at this location. read more

Loud! In almost every room you can hear doors slamming and people talking, and since there's a kids medical center right next door, sometimes you can hear children screaming. Management is also very rude and unwilling to give you any deals. The good therapists always end up leaving to work at better places, and the ones left are average at best. Very pushy on the sales side, I appreciated the recommendations but post massage you tend to be in a state of relaxation and was ready to go home and relax, not try to be persuaded into signing up for a membership. I bought a membership before my appointment for my boyfriend for his birthday and it took an act of Congress to get it cancelled because he wasn't going to use it like I thought he would. A note from his doctor was required, etc. Massage was great but just too much pushy from the salespeople, like they're working on commission. Turned me off, I won't be back. If you get massages just for relaxation, this probably won't be helpful. But if your muscles and joints are all jacked up, read on. Brian has been AMAZING for my hip and back pain. He does the best trigger point therapy I have ever had. He is 100% focused the whole session and frequently checks in with you to make sure you're OK. The seesions are effective, and I don't always feel that way when I get massages. TBH, I don't plan to ever see anyone else. read more

Leave alone unprofessional staff (one lady therapist started massaging me with one hand once we were 30 mins into session and she thought i was asleep , checking her phone with another hand). But what made me completely furious is the fact that after i left this place in a WHEEL CHAIR due to the sharp back pain that occurred during a stretching session, and had to go to er since i could not stand or sit or walk, i have never heard back from them. I filled out TWO cancellation forms and talked to several managers, and they always say they don't know what happened, and refund my card, only to keep charging me! Buyer beware! I received a phone call on 1/2 telling me that they had to cancel my 1/4 appointment because my monthly payment did not go through. I told them I was just about to call because our card had been hacked and cancelled on 31st and I do not have replacement yet, HOWEVER, I have already paid for more than 30 services (massages) that I have not used and the cost of my 1/4 service should have already been covered. I was told by receptionist that in order for me to schedule another appointment I would have to provide another credit card, which would necessitate my reactivating another separate credit card from another bank we no longer use just to make an appointment for a service I've already paid for multiple times over. Once I provide them with another credit card, then, and only then, could I use up my credits that I have already paid for. WHAT? Apparently, they do not sell "massages" but your monthly subscription purchase is for their "wellness program." That means that you aren't actually purchasing massages but "services" or "credits" that can be redeemed for massage's, however, you can only use them IF you pre-pay a monthly membership service charge. EVEN IF you have already paid them every month of the year save for this one and have several hundreds of dollars worth of "credits" on file, you can't use them unless you've paid for another month in advance. I told them I wanted to cancel my account and be refunded he cost of the massages I did not use. They REFUSED, again because they don't sell massages, but charge a monthly cost for "wellness programs." So, I was given two choices: activate another credit card so they could charge me the month of January and then follow proper channels to terminate my account then I would have 60 days to use up any "credits" I have or cancel immediately and lose everything. These people are psychotic. I am definitely going to protest their practices through the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. read more

I was sexually assaulted at this location and little was actually done. I was put through a traumatic interview while they "investigated", I was even asked what kind of underwear I was wearing. I was recently told by the franchise owner (Austin Musgrove) that the investigation was over. All I got in return was a refund for that massage and for one unused massage. When I asked for contacts to cooperate customer service or legal Austin did not respond. I also asked him for the massage therapist's full name and license number to report her to the board and he also did not respond to that. To Massage Envy - People need to be held responsible! Surely there is a policy where clients are at least refunded their membership fees and compensation for trauma therapy when a Massage Envy employee sexually assaults them instead of just saying you "investigated" it. read more

They are very disrespectful about playing with my time, which is very limited and valuable. Tri is an amazing massage therapist! My shoulder blades and neck were aching me uncontrollably and he managed to take out so many knots. I felt comfortable with him and he was attentive to how I replied to pressure points. Highly recommend him and would definitely be going back for another massage. read more

My back had become locked up and I needed a massage bad. The reviews weren't too bad at this place and the price was pretty sweet so I decided to give them a go. It looks like kids are running the show in here and the Asian women who massaged me spent the whole time complaining about her job and living in Houston. Her technique wasn't the worst I've had but it was pretty close. Getting a massage is supposed to be relaxing and rejuvenating. As usual, the front desk was great! If it wasn't for them, I would've given this store 1 star. THE LAST TWO VISITS: The men who have massaged me both smelled TERRIBLE. There is nothing worse than trying to relax then catching a whiff of BO from a dude's nether-regions. Are they required to shower & was their clothes? It didn't smell like it. First time customer and went there towards the end of June because my back, upper shoulder/trap, muscles were really tight from stress and lower back pain. Had an appointment set up for 8pm, therapist didn't show up until 8:15 so paid for a full body 60 min session and got a 40 min session instead. The massage therapist was very inconsistent, by that I mean she massaged my left hamstring and didn't massage the right one. She neglected few other spots that I had pain in as well. Entire experience was very awkward and uncomfortable. Woke up the next day with pain and muscle tightness in the same spots and upon talking to their manager, Austin, they offered to get me in for another session at a price of $45. Waste of money and needless to say, never going back. Would not recommend. read more

I called the Cinco Ranch location to schedule a 1 hour session to redeem a gift card. The girl asked when I wanted to get in. I tried to give her more information so I could get matched up with the best therapist for my needs. She continually interrupted me to get my credit card information and tell me about the cancellation policy. I understand this is a standard practice but it was rude of her to keep interrupting while I was talking. I made it a point to make it clear that I have been in the gym every day for several months and that I needed someone with firm pressure. When I arrived for my appointment, 1 of the 3 associates stood up and asked "checking in?" I said yes and she handed a clipboard to another girl who handed it to me and told me to have a seat and to fill out the paperwork. I filled it out and gave it back to the same girl who handed it to me. She said ok follow me to the back. She asked if I had any problem areas. I said my hips, glutes, and just my legs in general. I wanted to explain what my concerns were but she went on to ask if I meant to mark "no" on being comfortable with my head and face being touched. I said I don't like being touched on my face because I'm prone to acne and then continued to inform her that my back is ok and only a minimum amount of work needed done. After that she then informed me that ***** only does Relaxation to Medium Pressure. I told her that I specifically asked for firm pressure because of being in the gym. She got up and left and when she came back she said "well you're going to be with ***** because we don't have anyone else available". Gee, thanks for telling me that I won't be getting what I asked for and not giving me any options. I couldn't even reschedule or else I would either be charged on my credit card or lose my gift card because of their cancellation policy. My therapist was informed of what I was looking for and tried her best. But since she was trying to go firmer than what she usually does, she used her elbows the whole time. The only areas that were worked on were the areas I said were my problem areas. My arms and hands were left untouched and my feet were worked on for less than a minute. I gave my gift card to the girl at the desk before my session. After my session, I stopped at the desk to make sure I was checked out. None of the 3 girls looked up, 1 of them just said, "your fine to leave". After about 4 hours, my thighs were still very sore. Upon checking them, I saw my thighs were covered in purple bruises. After 5 hours, I checked my back and discovered multiple bruises there as well. I called the location and asked to speak with the manager. The girl took my name and put me on hold. I then spoke with another individual who I assumed was the manager since she was taking my call. I told her what happened and she offered an apology. She then said that I could come back and would be offered the introductory price again. Really? Come back and PAY AGAIN because not only did I not get what I asked for, but was bruised in the process? She then said she would let the Manager know what happened. Well that was a surprise to me because I should have been talking to the manager to begin with since that's what I asked for. I'm not sure if this is the standard of customer service at this location, but it is definitely subpar. I know what I want out of a massage, but I feel like I was treated as just another bother walking through the door. I will however say that I do appreciate my therapist's effort to do her best, she just wasn't a good fit for what my current needs are. What's even more disappointing though is that I never received a phone call back from the location manager. I even sent an email to the Area Manager and never heard back. I would think they would be a little more concerned about the poor customer service that is being so generously handed out. read more
