After doing a membership I had a medical issue and could not longer go and use my membership and wanted to cancel. they approved to cancel the remaining 3 months an called me to let me know they were not charging my debit card. Only to find out that they still continued to use my card FRAUDELENTLY.. BECAUSE IN WRITING AND VERBAL IT WAS TOLD NOT TO. I filed a complaint with corporate and with my Bank for fraudulent charges. They are not professional, and this is illegal to do this. I will not stop because they clearly do not care that you had a medical issue hospitalized for and could no longer use the service. They agreed Aisha who works there also called me back 2 x times to confirm they were cancelling it. I WILL CONTINUE TO WRITE BAD REVIEWS BECAUSE THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL.. Just so everyone knows BEFORE you go, as a former employee, you need to know what kind of business you're supporting. First off, every location is franchised owned so this location and the one in Branchburg are the only ones owned by the same people so the other locations probably aren't this bad. The next thing to know is they are horrible to their employees, mainly the front desk. Being pressured into selling memberships and getting harassed by the therapists, there is a lot on their plates. Constantly getting yelled at, and belittled, even having death threats made about them too. They can't say anything and don't feel safe as speaking up sparks retaliation against the owner who will give them the boot without hesitation. There is no accountability and the place is a mess! I strongly advise everyone I know to stay away from the scam of a company as they pressure you into a contact you cannot escape out of. Once they have you locked in, you're going to have a hard time leaving. Don't even walk in for a product either because we are trained to persuade you into a membership as well. She acted surprised as if I should have been told that a credit would be issued. Said someone else was supposed to call me, despite my leaving a message for her the prior day. We went to this location as the one closer to us did not have availability before our gift cards expired The front desk staff was friendly and after our massage was able to talk us into a short membership deal. We walked away with what we believed to be a full understanding of what our purchase included. On our next visit the therapist was an hour late and showed up with a super bad attitude and looked like she was hung over or strung out. The service she provided was substandard. The owner was kind enough to not charge us because of the inconvenience. We agreed to try them again because one bad apple shouldn't ruin the bunch. After our next session with a much more pleasant therapist we found our unused membership purchase was not what we thought it was and we ended up paying more than anticipated. Just had probably the worst massage of my life today. After my apt was rescheduled, I was disappointed. After leaving, i was more disappointed and thankful i didn't waste 2 hrs on a massage. I asked for deep pressure and a specific focus on my low back. What i got was 45 min on my right shoulder. The pressure was nonexistent and timid. We have been Massage Envy, Berkeley Heights, NJ members for years. We wanted to cancel and utilize our accumulated 16 hours of unused massage time (for which we have been paying for years). They did not cancel membership over last 2 months, despite our chats with multiple reps each of them verbally confirming it is handled. Another new manager (Crystal) has today canceled the membership but refuses to honor the accumulated 16 hours of unused massage time, when we booked a massage time. Enough time has passed for me to write about my terrible experience here. I'm sure this is due to just one incompetent and completely unprofessional masseuse who made lewd and unprofessional comments the entire time I was there. She was also sick and sniffling and sneezing all over me. She also didn't seem to know how to massage and spent the entire time either apologizing for not knowing how to massage or making lewd comments. I should really have walked out in the first 5 minutes but I couldn't even get myself to complain about it until now. I hope you are checking your therapists backgrounds very well. I called to inquire what the into rate would be since elements cancelled my massage for today that what much needed. I was told it would be $100. The reason given was that it's only for new people the into rate. I told her that my last time was over 5 years ago. That did not seem to matter. I signed up with this location over a year ago and love coming here. I have been to many other locations and they all lack the atmosphere, the warm attention to detail that Berkley Heights give you. Now as far as massages. I highly recommend Clarissa! She has the Midas touch. Anthony is also very very good he has soft "piano hands". If you want something more intense like a sports massage Juan is the best! I have read the reviews about Olga and now very curious to try a facial! I was a member at this location (Berkeley Heights) for just over a year. I cancelled my membership due to having a baby. The last month of my membership, the cancelled 3 of my appointments because the prenatal therapists had emergencies or changed schedules. I will now have to leave with 2.5 massages. I won't be able to fulfill these because I am having a baby. I am very disappointed the way this last month has gone. I would never join another massage envy. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. They are absolutely terrible. The management staff at this location is rude and unresponsive to client complaints and issues. I had to call for over a week to get my membership canceled. Then we tried using our last session, and no one called to confirm the appointment so my husband forgot about it. He didn't end up going and not only did they use the last session but charged us $53. I have now been calling for two days to get my money back and no one has called me back. I'm writing this at the risk that once the secret is out, I'll have a hard time booking her. But here goes...Olga is the MOST AMAZING esthetician that I've ever had. I've had dozens of facials in all types of places from 5-star resorts to high end sports clubs. I honestly didn't have high expectations from Massage Envy, but boy was I wrong. Olga has not only a great professional manner, but she's extremely thorough and is not afraid of extractions. My face was as smooth as a baby's bottom after I left. Poor management. I was a member from when they opened but no longer under a contract, just month to month member. My credit card on file expired, and I was never contacted about this matter. The credit card was declined 1 time due to expiration date and i was sent to a collection agency and now has gone from 1 month membership fee to $149? Every time I called since receiving the collection notice the manager is not available and will CALL ME BACK... manager never called received 4th collection notice. Pleasantly surprised at how great my massage was with the female therapist (I can't remember her name). I was afraid that the room would be noisy due to the fact that this place is in a strip mall, but it was quiet and lovely. The only downside of the experience was the sales pitch post-massage about their "membership" and high-pressure tactics to re-book another appointment. Also, keep in mind that a 60-minute booking is only a 50 minute massage and a 90-minute booking is actually an 80 minute massage. read more

My massage was great; I was skeptical walking in because it's in a strip mall so I wasn't expecting much. Once you are led through the doors to the massage room, it's dark and quiet, there's a small sitting area with water and tea for you to relax before the therapist comes to get you. The rooms have heated massage beds and are very comfortable. For the introductory rate, can't be beat. But if you decide not to be a member, then the rates aren't worth it - you could go to a more upscale spa for the prices they charge non-members. read more

The front staff is always warm and welcoming. Every time I make a special request, they do everything they can to accommodate me. I have had massages with many of their therapists and haven't had a bad one. For facials, you have to have Olga. I have been going there for 3 years and I make sure I have Olga every time. I agree with Loraine A. completely. I also had quite a bit of experiences with a lot of 5-star hotels and high end NYC spas. I don't even want to go there anymore after I had my first experience with Olga. read more
