My sister treated me to a massage at massage envy so I chose this location. Now she is a member at another location so the prices are different so I ended up paying the difference for this service which I did not mind. There is a small parking lot in the back which is shared with other businesses so you may or may not get a spot in the back. Upon walking in it's not giving spa more like office space and the waiting room is blah. I had to wait to be brought to my room after doing paperwork and the room is so not appealing. It looks like a room that can be emptied within 5 min. The table looks cheap and the equipment is also. They were able to adjust the music as it was so loud and not at all soothing. My massage was not great I mentioned my areas of focus and left with no relief. I'm in service so I tipped well but no thanks. read more

I joined Massage Envy Bayside only to see therapist Malik, who was the first to truly help with my chronic pain. After two great sessions, I was told his license had lapsed and he'd be out for weeks. Since then, every attempt to use my membership was a nightmare: ineffective or injured therapists, last-minute cancellations, no-shows, and constant unreturned calls when I tried to cancel. Instead of honoring my requests, the staff strung me along with empty promises while my credits piled up and my pain worsened. The final straw was leaving in more pain than I arrived. This is not just bad service--it's a breach of trust. I refuse to keep paying for a membership that causes harm rather than relief. read more

But the last one I got before painstakingly cancelling, the masseusse turned on a movie/show on her phone and then cracked all my toe knuckles (yes, I'm serious -- and no, I didn't ask for this), it hurt and honestly, I couldn't walk right for a bit. Also -- all the stories online about how difficult they make it to cancel are more than true. Probably best to stay away. read more

The new owners of this site are going to run this place into the ground. As a loyal customer from prior to the pandemic I am so disappointed with what's going on here. They can't seem to keep an aesthetician for more than a few months. And instead of being professional and notifying customers about the staffing changes, they spring it on you at the time of the visit which is so unprofessional. Appointments keep getting canceled and rescheduled. And when I mentioned to the owner that they hadn't confirmed an appointment which is why I missed it, she had the staff give me a stack of "evidence" for when the appointment was made rather than acknowledge that they missed the confirmation call and give me my credits back. The owner does not treat her employees or customers well and the employees are caught in the middle. This is no way to run a business. read more

I received a gift card for Mother's Day plus I had the receipt of when it was purchased, the dollar amount $146.30 and who ran the credit card. The gift card was empty. I had to pay AGAIN $146.30. One hour massage for $300!! I had the receipt I showed them my credit card statement showing they charged my card. The manager was called (not in store) she basically said nothing can be done. That's BS!! I called my cc to file a complaint. They said I must have used the card someplace else. How is that possible?? If I used it the employee doesn't give me the card back?!?! Employee didn't take a copy of my receipt nor the gift card. How are they supposed to figure out what happened with no paperwork?? The reference number is on the receipt. I was there today , Labor Day, , with my son to celebrate! I had Groupon coupons for two . They wouldn't accept our coupons because today is federal holiday. I didn't see that in Groupon when I purchased my coupons. Otherwise , I wouldn't go through it! Luckily , it was not only us , there were at least 12 people had the same problem. . I begged them to accept my coupons(for two) for me only and I would pay the rest with my credit card for my son . But they said no. They expected us to give up on our coupons and pay double because of holiday. Why even participate in Groupon if they are not honoring the coupons?They were not flexible and we have to leave because , few hour in that place would have cost us over 400 hundred dollars. I had a terrible experience with "masseuse" Steven. He didn't greet me, ate a snack and then gestured for me to go to the room. He didn't want to touch me and it was obvious in his demeanor and his behavior during the session that he shortened. He pulled the sheet over me and rubbed and that was it. I will never go back to the ME in Bayside. I have not been having good fortune with getting appointments at ME in general and have decided to cancel my membership. A massage for under $60? I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Decor is modern and relaxing and everything is shiny and new. The front desk greeted me warmly and were very friendly. They may have been a little 'green', but they made me feel quite welcomed. I was offered some water and after being checked in and filling out some paperwork, I was shown to the back to a small relaxation room to discuss what I was looking for out of a massage. I was then left to wind down in the relaxation room. While it was small, it was cozy. Dim lights and some soft music played in the background. At my appointment time, my therapist Christine came to take me to the massage room. The place is pretty large, there are 2 floors worth of rooms. The rooms themselves are also very nice and standard. Christine was wonderful, asked me the right questions and was quiet in order to let me relax. She gave me a really great massage. Since there is no locker room, you are undressing and dressing in the room where you have your massage, which is fine. The only thing I was missing was a towel to help rub off the oil after the massage. Other than that I had no issues. Back at the reception desk, I was explained the benefits of membership. I was not pressured into signing up, but I did end up becoming a member, so I look forward to monthly massages. I think Massage Envy is a great addition to Bayside. read more

Place is relaxing. My BF got this for me for our anniversary. The service is impeccable. They're very friendly, informative and knowledgeable. They made sure that we were both comfortable and answered all our questions. I've gotten massages, as well as facials before, but never at this place. It is always awkward the first time. But anyway, we were assigned 2 lovely ladies. I had Dominique and the BF had Dai. Dominique did a wonderful job. I'm just a ticklish person, and I did well. Only giggled once! But yea, she concentrated on my problem areas. It was nice to have softer and lighter hands as I've been used to deep tissue massages from Thai messeuses. Dominique did well and would recommend her. My BF had Dai, and from the snoring I heard while she was working on him. Hahaha! He told me that she did well on his problem areas. I'm sure he'd recommend her. At the end, I did have questions about the membership. I didnt even have to ask and they explained it to me. It sounds great, but, it was a bit pricey. I'll just go every 6 mos. Literally all of their massage therapists are terrible. Now that I'm trying to cancel they're giving me a hard time and saying I have to come in in person because they "can't email me a form." Had a really great first session with Mika, as I knew going into it my body is a complete knot. I wish prices were posted somewhere and not kept so secretive until you're actually there, but my first time massage was $70 + $10 min for a hand treatment. Usual massages are $100 and I believe the 90 min massage is $150. I really needed this to relax and unwind yesterday. Mika did a great job although I wish I asked her to use more pressure. Only real downside was as I was trying to enjoy the peace and quiet, she kept going on about how tight and knotted I am in certain areas. She meant well, and I'm excited to give her another go since I know I need to do this regularly! Also I plan on doing the membership, which from what I am told, is $70 a month to use on any service and they roll over. I was pretty sold when she said I could roll over one and use it towards a 90 min service! read more

I've been a member at Massage Envy for almost a year now, and it was possibly the best decision I ever made (not really, but it was a good decision!). For the first several months of my membership, I therapist-hopped and tried about four or five different masseuses. All were friendly, all asked and listened to what I needed, all left me feeling meditative and blissful at the end of each session. For a few months now I've been going back to Megan, who is officially My Masseuse. I love her. I have chronic shoulder pain and while she hasn't cured me, I am significantly improved. Also - she can do the whole Quiet Zen Massage Time or we can talk for the entire hour, depending on what I'm needing that day. Lauren is an absolute doll and the front desk staff are some of the most congenial customer service workers I've ever encountered. There are a few who are just Regular Customer Service Friendly, but there are a handful who are incredibly personable and down to earth. After my sessions, I can spend 10-15 minutes just chatting with the people behind the front desk. They make the experience relaxing and enjoyable from start to finish. Oh, and I've never been pushed to buy any of their products which is just incredible and unheard of. I've never been to a spa where they didn't push products! I could seriously go on forever. What a great place and addition to bayside. I don't normal get a message but my wife was sick of hearing me complain that I shoulders hurt and had lists of knots That staff is very friendly and nice. They did not seem to try and push you into a membership or products like big places do or cruise ships. The front girls can be a bit quieter as you can hear then at times for a split second. You are so relaxed that you can ignore them and move on. I had a full body massage. As my shoulder was the main issue she spent most of the time on it. I feel so much better. I was asked a few times in the beginning various questions till we started to jive. Not sure of the prices if they are high or not. As my wife normal handles these things. The fact they are close to home is worth it. I don't have dice far so the price is fine with me. Even if I don't chose to be a member. I've been a member of Massage Envy since 2006. It's a great way to make sure you've got access to regular massages at better than retail prices. Unfortunately, due to my busy schedule, my paid hours kept adding up as I was unable to use them on a monthly basis. Fast forward a few years and I have over 30 hours of unused massages. Now that I'm back in NY, I've found that I've got only a few locations to choose from to use my membership - Brooklyn and Bayside being the two closest to Manhattan. (I've reached out to Massage Envy's Business Development department to find out if there are any new, closer locations on the horizon, but they've never returned my calls.) The best way for me to use my hours up are to book two hour massages, yet not every therapist is willing to rub you that long (I don't blame them, it's pretty hard work, I know I couldn't do it.) My massage yesterday was with Joseph and he was truly excellent. He's very quiet and gentle. He used light pressure and was focused purely on relaxation. It's very easy to tell when someone is just doing their job in a methodical way or really enjoys their work and Joseph falls into the latter category. The time always goes by too quickly but it was well worth the trip out to Bayside. I've already booked my next appointment. The location is easy to reach, very clean and low-key and the front desk staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. read more

A little late in my review, but came here in March after running the NYC Half and had a great experience. Had booked a 90-min massage over the phone with Rachel, who was very nice and courteous. When I arrived on the day of my appt, I was greeted by the same Rachel. Very welcoming and friendly. I was taken to the "relaxation area" I guess its called, which is basically a waiting area to fill out paperwork. As soon as I finished, Rachel came back to review the info and ask for any specifics that the therapist should know about. She was patient and informative, answering all the questions I had. After a bit of a wait (4:30pm appt), didn't get on the table until almost 5pm, I think. Therapist I had was Momoko, she was very good. She started by asking what areas needed attention, and def focused on those areas. During, she made sure that the pressure was sufficient, which I appreciate. I've had my share of massages where I felt the therapist was just dragging their hands over my back. She was very good and seemed to be able to "find" areas which I was tense/tight and really work on them. Since we started late, she def didn't skimp on the 90 min, as it was about 6:25 when it was over. All in all a great experience and I even signed up for membership as the prices are pretty good (although it seems like it just went up, though still good). And you'll be hard pressed to find better prices anywhere, without having to go to those shady places in flushing (which i'm sure are fronts for human trafficking or something...). I just had my first Massage Envy experience today and I have to say I was really pleased! They came highly recommended by my cousin who is a regular member. She recommended getting my facial from Cecilia. She said Cecilia was thorough, takes her time and explains everything she's doing as well as explaining which products she's using and why. When I called to book my appointment the receptionist was extremely nice and very informative. I had my facial with Cecilia this afternoon and I was amazed at how great my skin looked when I left! She is fantastic! She was exactly as my cousin described. I've had facials where they barely bother extracting anything, but she took her time and worked on extractions for quite a bit and the proof is on my face! When I left I couldn't find a single blackhead left on my face! On top of that my skin looks radiant. I was so impressed with just 1 session that I ended up signing up for their membership. I can't wait to see the improvement In my skin over the next few months. Also, I was in NO WAY pushed to buy any products and I really appreciated that! Yesterday was my first visit to this spa and my massage by one of their male therapists was extremely painful to the point where I couldn't relax at any point during the session. He spoke the entire time, never dimmed the lights, and only massaged my neck and back although I paid for a FULL body massage (he never massaged my legs, feet, or the front of my body). Every time I yelled or winced in pain, he told me that it's suppose to hurt and to just breathe through it - in retrospect, I can't believe I listened to him. He also massaged the left side of my neck and shoulders significantly longer than the right so at the end, I felt really tight on my right. The session ended abruptly and I was left feeling significantly more tense (and mentally confused to be honest) than I did prior to my session. It has been several hours since my massage and I am in severe pain. I even asked my husband to check my neck and back for black and blue bruises to make it very clear how intense the pain is. In addition to this being the worst massage and treatment I have ever received at any spa, I was asked to pay out of pocket for the service despite my husband signing me up and paying a registration fee for a 6-month membership prior to my visit (as part of what he thought would be a really nice Christmas gift). When my husband went to the spa after my visit to inquire about the out of pocket charge and membership cancellation, the woman at the front desk told him that she is not authorized to address our concerns or request for cancellation and that he would have to wait for a call from management. I am extremely frustrated that I couldn't fully enjoy bringing in the new year because of this awful experience and truly hope management addresses this as soon as possible. read more

This location is in a pleasant safe neighborhood and accessible via Bell Blvd bus or by car. Small parking lot in back and street parking easy. Hospitality Staff is friendly and attentive. I have not had work done by all the staff LMTs, but I can recommend Momoko, Mui, Robin, Joey and Megan. Tranquility room is only one in Queens and Nassau and Grammercy Park (Bayside, Forest Hills/Glendale, Lake Success) that always has bowl of candy treats or granola bars. This location is the first Massage Envy in Queens and is very popular. If you have a favorite therapist, it can be difficult to schedule a monthly appt. with him or her, or even more difficult to see them twice a month. You need to be flexible; weekends are often booked in advance. I have found this to be the case at three out of four Massage Envy locations I've used. One difference between seeing an LMT in private practice and a Massage Envy LMT is the private practitioner has more leeway with a full 60 minutes and time spent with client on intake, basic chit chat and feedback after session. I can appreciate, however, knowing I should receive a good professional massage at any Massage Envy I book at. Licensed Massage Therapists will tell you there is variation in style and approach by each therapist - communication about goal or outcome of massage with front desk staff and with your assigned LMT is crucial. Another thing I appreciate about Massage Envy chain is the blanket and sheets and heated tables that move up and down are spa quality. No robes, no slippers. Yes to lemon water in the Tranquility Room (aka dark lounge where you wait for therapy VS natural lighting lounge by reception). One needs to decide if you like the monthly price of membership and will actually make time for a minimum of 12 massages or facials over a year to make membership worth it. If you know you normally get two massages a month, a membership is not going to break the bank. The unused massages roll over but not good to let them pile up as you get charged monthly. Massage Envy NY chain locations are open 7 days a week and have evening hours. Twice this past year when I needed a massage in same week, I got lucky and was able to take an appt. from someone who canceled. Gratuities can be paid in cash or by credit card. read more

If I could give this place negative starswould. I left a 90 minute massage appointment with a slight shoulder pain. My masseuse wa very sweet so I chose to not mention the pain to the front desk. When I woke up the following morning the shoulder pain was extremely painful on my right side and I could not move neck. I was in excruciating pain and was sent to the ER. My doctor informed me the masseuse had torn my right trapezius muscle which led to painful muscle spasms on my left side. When I called massage envy they did not answer even though they were OPEN, so I made my boyfriend call back and they answered. Rather than being apologetic they refused to take blame for the torn muscle. DO NOT come here unless you want horrific customer service and a torn muscle for $100+ dollars!:) read more

Sorry I will not be calling this location to explain my poor experience there, your receptionist already knows what happened. I called for a same day appointment and was told there was one available at 6pm. When I was asked if I was a member I told her no. I was then put on hold and when she returned she told me that appointment was no longer available. For those of you reading this who don't already know - there is a 40% discount for first time customers. When I asked why the appointment was suddenly gone, I was told a clear lie that the other receptionist was booking the appointment on the the phone the same time as me, and that I was being bumped. 3 minutes later I went online and the appointment was still available, so I went ahead and booked it. Everald, my masseuse was TERRIFIC. Unfortunately for me and him and I will not be returning to see him. When I was checking out, the same receptionist was extremely short with me and seemed very uninterested in my return business. When I called her out her extremely poor customer service, she laughed at me and fed me more lies about the customer who was also booking the same appointment "could have" called back to cancel after booking. Never once did she apologize or take any sort of responsibility. I had read other reviews about the poor customer service here and I didn't want to believe them but apparently they were true. When I told her this she said I could go ahead and write about it on Yelp. I unfortunately did not get her name but clearly she's got tremendous job security to speak to a paying customer that way. I would have happily signed up for a membership if not for the way she treated me. Luckily there are several other massage spas in the area who I will gladly give my money. STAY AWAY!!!!!! I REALLY hate writing bad reviews. I understand that a bad review can have profound implications in the business' success/failure, so I try to avoid them. This time, however, since this business could potentially HURT someone, I feel that its important to share. I get massages regularly. I have had some truly wonderful experiences by gifted massage therapists throughout the east coast. This was NOT one of those experiences. I should have known. The price was cheap and this is a chain. The massage was NOT tailored to my needs. The massage therapist unapologetically said that he didn't take suggestions from clients. The massage therapist talked the entire time about himself. The massage therapist actually made me HURT, and not in a good way. The staff tried way too hard to pitch me their membership (I used to be in sales. This was so pushy it was borderline inappropriate). Oh, and the "relaxation room"? It is a windowless closet with a water cooler, just behind the front desk. I heard the front desk people laughing and talking about other people the entire time... Not relaxing. This is like getting a burger at McDonalds when you can get a quality burger at your local hand-made, fresh ingredients and excellent service joint. DUH. Massage Envy completely missed the mark. My husband and I went to the massage envy in 2011 in Lake success and enjoyed ourselves and the massage we received. When I saw they opened one up in our neighborhood in Bayside, I thought I would have the same experience. I bought gift cards for everyone on my shopping list for Christmas this year. Everyone I purchased the gift cards for was dissatisfied with the treatment they received at Bayside. The receptionists are pompous. After several attempts to make an appointment they are still "booked up" and I regret spending any money there. -Also because they're prices went up in the beginning of April, myself and my family who received the gift cards have to spend extra money to go- even though we all tried to make appointments before the April Deadline. Bad business. Bell Blvd is a high-price area and if they continue to disrespect the homeowners in the neighborhood, they won't last long. read more

I've been a member at this Massage envy for years. My neck and shoulders are so tight I try to get regular massages, like every 2 weeks. Of course there are high end spas like those in Manhattan, etc. but those prices are not sustainable for a regular massage. I also did not want a place that felt cheap, you still want to relax and feel like you're treating yourself. By being a member, I have quality massages at a reasonable price. I've had many great therapists at This location and the front desk staff as well as the owner are always accommodating and helpful in finding me appointments that fit in my schedule, and recommend therapists for my needs. I recently moved to Long Island and was able to use my membership at another Massage Envy location, hoping it would be the same service and more convenient. I was very disappointed with that location and now I drive back to Bayside to go to my favorite massage place! Love these guys! read more

My husband got me a facial and massage package for Valentine's Day. When I tried to make an appointment it was impossible to book because most available time are in the morning. Before u book an appointment be aware of their horrible policy, if u cancel the day of appointment they will charge 50% off your credit card, no show 100%. U have to show up 15mins b4 your appointment for paper work or else they will cut the time off your appointment time. To make it easier, don't give them your real credit card information. read more
