So fun! New to me style of yoga which has a strong focus on core energy, tension release, movement,…read morehip opening and ... happiness . I loved that this yoga practice doesn't take itself quite as serious ' as Indian style, where my type A personality strives to perfect a pose. Probably a me thing You will feel energized and tingly after a class. They make room for all levels (it's not that kind of competition- was yoga supposed to be?; likely me again .). Thé practitioners are warm and welcoming, even focusing on making you feel comfortable with a very Personal and personable touch. Shoot I got a hug! Just what we all need in current times!

This was the worst, most awkward "fitness/workout" experience of my life. First of all, it is not by any means Yoga. I don't consider myself a yoga nut...I've been to somewhere around 10 classes and I generally know some of the poses. I really enjoy yoga because it gives me a chance to clear my mind, stretch a lot, and work out any tense areas in my neck and back. I also do kickboxing and pilates. Anyway, the instructor (who looked like a mess by the way) definitely didn't have any official training in yoga. His instructions were sloppy and unorganized. Their version of a warmup is slapping various parts of the body (i'd assume to increase bloodflow...but it looks and feels ridiculous). Just imagine being told "raise your arms above your head. Slap your left armpit with your right hand. Now say, 'I love my armpits!'" Swear to god, that's how they do it there. At this point I was ready to leave but I wanted to see how crazy it could get. Next, the instructor had us doing awkward movements that don't in any way resemble yoga. Then everyone had to run around the room kind of free-dancing flailing arms around to songs like "It's Raining Men"...?????? Eventually this died down and the instructor brought out tea for the old korean women in the class. I'm not sure why it was just for them, but regardless the entire place is a scam. I left the place feeling very tense and upset. It did the opposite of what yoga is supposed to do. I felt bad for the older women all dressed in their lululemon attire looking for yoga and being subjected to this. If you want yoga, DEFINITELY make sure it's really yoga. I'm not sure what this place is trying to do but they should take "yoga" out of the name.

Imagine being in a room with 9 women in a room like that with only 1/2 the room being somewhat warm and the other 1/2 not being warm at all. I'm a Bikram snob, it should be atleast 100 degrees with room to be able to move. I didn't like that the instructor didn't do most of the moves within the class and only had 4 positions we rotated with. (downward dog, upward dog, plank, and warrior 1)

I later switched gyms and always thought that her yoga class was one of the most through and that she was always the best at teaching you the right way to do things as opposed to letting you get it wrong over and over again and not know it. I have been to many yoga centers over the years and still always thought of her as one of the best teachers. I recently saw a Groupon for Daniela's Hot Yoga and learned that it is the same person!!! I hoped on the deal right away! I am so glad that I did. I still have my gym membership but I take Barre class with Daniela as a supplemental thing (since my gym has nothing like it) and I love it! Barre is a kind of ballet and yoga fusion mixed with a dash of strength training. I used to take ballet as a kid so this is perfect for me! Daniela always makes the class feel warm and welcomed and calls everyone by name. She makes an effort to get to know you and encourages you. The class is small which i like as well. The workout is always challenging and I always feel it the next day! This is always the true test of a good workout. She has a reservations policy which I like as well, it forces me to go even when im feeling lazy because I don't want to lose a class. Though she does not give you a problem if you have a last minute issue that comes up on occasion. All and all, I am so glad Groupon let me know about this place! I will definitely be taking more classes after its done!

I liked all the different exercises that Tom taught and especially appreciated all the variations he offered for each movement! I also really enjoy the Unify class with Dr. Tae on Saturday mornings. It's a combination of yoga, qi gong, and breathwork all in one. His attention to detail and focus on improving posture is what keeps me coming back. Love learning how to integrate the breath into the postures. I haven't learned a new skill in ages, but I saw students practicing kendo at Ki Body & Spirit and decided to give it a try. The kendo community is mixed ages, which I really enjoy. It's inspiring practicing with the kids and a welcome challenge being introduced to sparring. The dojo also offers iaido sword form, which I really like learning and a lovely practice of concentration and flow.
