This place is a secret gem in Bayside, one of those blink and you miss it spots right on Northern. The spa itself is super clean and very welcoming, great sign walking into any massage studio. I'm all about the no frills for cheaper price tag experience, but after my latest massage, I did not feel good. I felt very sore - not the good type of post-massage sore/relaxed. I've had dozens of massages in my life. This one was...erratic? Things done on one side of my body were totally neglected on the other. The masseuse's nails also weren't well cut, so one hand kept digging me with some specific moves. The language barrier is real, but it's not insurmountable. What was kind of funny but also annoying was at the end, when I paid $40 in cash with $10 tip, she took an extra $5 from my change with a smile. Again massage was below par and a part of my body was totally neglected. What was disappointing the most was when the front desk lady asked me to tip $15 on a $50 massage. (That is 30%) I'm all for no frills, reduced price scenarios, that's what I expect at these places, but don't ask me for a 30% tip. Tipping is discretionary! This was our second time going to this place, while we did get a good massage, but I didn't like the fact they hustled us for tips, we gave them $20 for the 2 hours massage, which was $100. They ask for $5 more, which is 25%. If this was it, then I wouldn't give it bad review, but they did the same for my niece last time as well. Asking for mandatory 25% tip is ridiculous. Warm and comfortable environment. Very easy going people at this massage location. The massage itself was spot on. I took an hour full body massage and was asked what kind of pressure i'd like - i always answer strong and that is what I got. My masseuse did not speak much English but she was very sweet and accommodating. The inside is very calming and relaxing which definitely helps put you in proper mood for a massage. Only thing I would say they could work on is their scheduling. I called as soon as they opened and asked if I could walk-in that same morning. The answer was yes and we agreed on a specific time. There was never any talk about length of massage or wether it was going to be full body work or a foot rub. When I arrived and was already on the massage table I was asked by my masseuse "how long? 30 or 60 minutes", to which I replied "60 minute body work and 30 minute foot rub". She said ok but 20 minutes later told me they were booked up for the day. Not the end of the world to me, I was not upset or annoyed at it but it is something that I did just want to point out about my experience. On my way out my masseuse even said "next time i'll get you in for 90 minutes " lol which I found very sweet. Overall, a great spot for a solid massage. The space itself is spacious, it was a little too cold so i would recommend warming up the suite. Even though the $40 Yelp check-in deal was not honored during our appointment, the skills of my masseur made up for it! This was my first time receiving a massage at a spa from a man, and thought I would be uncomfortable at first but I was relaxed the entire time. Just got a massage here. Based on some of the reviews abt tipping, I was hesitant to try this place. But I desperately needed a massage. This is 2 blocks from my house, so why not? I called to make an appt 45 mins prior to my intended time. I was sent to the room right away when I arrived. They have a plastic bin where u can keep ur belongings under the bed. I liked that my stuff didn't have to be all over the place. At places like this they usually put disposable soft sheet for the bedding which I actually prefer. Everything was nice and clean. My massage therapist was Lily. She was excellent! She found all of my knots and were really thorough on working on them. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is the noise from conversations in the reception area and the classical music radio station. If u're about the frills, this is not the place for u. There's no ambiance or spa experience. This is strictly a massage in a clean space where u will have to tune out the other noise and listen to music that's not necessarily relaxing. I came in to try the special for $40 for 90 minutes and she said it was only Monday through Friday and then she said that she is the only one that does that special. Then Alice tells me she has to change and that takes ten minutes and she's speaking to other workers. Through out the massage,she is speaking and all I hear is this loud dialogue and laughing. Not the most peaceful massage I was hoping for. Then when I pay,she get upset that I didn't tip her the amount she wanted. She goes on to complain and wine about this is her job. When I called to make the appointment, I asked if they offered aromatherapy and was told yes but when I mentioned it again when I got there, they had no idea what I was talking about. I paid $45 for an hour massage and my masseuse did a GREAT job. She checked in with me frequently to make sure the pressure was okay. Fair warning: she pulled down my panties below my cheeks so if you're not comfortable with that just speak up. The place was clean, however, not very quiet. I came here for a couples massage and I have to say I am very satisfied! It was 35/hour for the bodyworks massage and 40/hour for aromatherapy. The masseuse that worked on me was a gentleman and he found all of my sore spots. I was so impressed. He focused on the areas that really hurt. I almost fell asleep! The one thing that was a bit annoying was the cover that is placed around the hole in the bed for your face. It kept itching my nose and I couldn't really move to scratch it. I will be back because you really can't beat the quality of the massage vs. the price. They are also open until 10pm (I went on a Saturday) and parking isn't too bad. My husband and I went for a couple's massage Saturday at noon. It was a perfect time, we were the only ones there. My masseuse was Peter, my husband's Lily. I was hesitant to have a male masseuse, but Peter was awesome! Both Peter and Lily speak limited English - just enough to ask if the pressure is OK. Both my husband and I work desk jobs, bent over computers 5 days a week. I had so many knots in my upper back. Peter was able to pinpoint my sore spots. It didn't feel so good when Peter was working out the knots, but my back felt so much better after the massage! This is a no frills place, and the price reflects that. It is $40 per person for a 90 mins massage everyday before 4pm. You can request partial body and partial foot work for the 90 mins. Like other cheap Chinese massage parlors that dominate Flushing, massuses here work only for tips. That's how the parlors are able to advertise low prices. Dim lighting, temperature controls..not bad! Alice herself, was my masseuse. Pressure was good. I told her where to focus more pressure, and she did exactly that. The only thing I didn't like about my first experience was that, a few times, I did notice that Alice would step out of the room for a few minutes to go do something..probably greet a customer who just walked in or answer a phone call, and then come back in and resume my massage. But when the 1 hour was up and the timer rang, she didn't massage a few more minutes for the time she left the room. I thought that was a bit strange. But overall, this is a great spa. Finally, my favorite masseuse opened her own spa! I've been with Alice for almost three years now and she is by far the BEST masseuse I had so far. I have major issues with my head, neck and back and requires weekly massages to ease my muscle tensions. I have tried many kinds of spas and massage therapists, both expensive and economical. Alice is far better the the expensive professionals that charges over $100/hour. She is very attentive to detail, will listen to you and spend time to work out the trouble spots you have. Although her spa doesn't have the fancy amenities like steam/sauna room but her skills are unbeatable. I believe she has three space for foot massage, two single rooms for body massage and a double room with two beds for couples body massage. If you are looking for a cheap clean spa to get a relaxing massage, I highly recommend you try Alice. So far, everyone I recommended have been impressed by her skills. Unlike her old place in Flushing, parking is much easier here for those who drives. I believe her customers could use the spots in the seafood restaurant next door (vacant now) or the bank's spots when they are closed. However, I don't think we could use the ones in front of quizznos. Anyway, this place is definitely worth a try. In fact, I think she may be running specials for the first 50 customers. The best possible place to fix yourself if you have pulled your back!!! Have problem with my lower back for years, and it's getting worse when I am aging. I used to go to physical therapy or Acupuncture for my back pain, both works just takes long time and many visits which is not timely efficient. Did some research and found out "Cupping" possibly will relief my back pain better, so I tried at Alice's....Trust me, it hurts !!!!! But after the pain is the gain which I can assure you those pains are totally worth it. I couldn't stand straight when I walked in, but after first hour of massage to relax my back first then cupping, you will feel the difference when you walk out. You will have many purple circles on your back after cupping which is normal, you need to stay warm and don't shower for 6 hours for your body to recover. read more

We came early in the morning and they were able to take us right away. They put my sis and her bf in a couples room and I was in my own room. I wanted a 90 min massage for the deal but since it wasn't a deal on the weekends, I just opted for the 60 min hot stone massage. I don't think the old man heard me so I only had a regular massage. No big deal. I must say, the old man kicked my ass. He kept asking me if the pressure was okay which it was and then it would get a lot harder. Eventually, I asked him to do less pressure but it was too late by then. He was able to find all my knots and work them out. This massage was definitely more body work than swedish. I was not relaxed. Usually I fall asleep. My sister's massage was okay but her bf also got annihilated by his massage therapist. Don't be afraid to say less pressure! So they start with body work (pressing) and some rubbing. Towards the end, the man cracked me and bent my legs. Usually I am used to a towel cover one butt and leg while the other one is being worked on but my bum was definitely more exposed(oh you must keep underwear on) than I would have liked. Though the man seemed professional so I was not bothered as I could have been. Unlikely, that I would come back here. If I do, I will opt for a lady and make sure they hear what massage I want.
