Relaxing, not pushy, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. Especially my favorite therapist, James. I call him my Guru because every time I see him, I feel amazing, he's making a complete difference in my back. I no longer have daily back pain. I highly recommend him! I had a massage set up for February 3 at 10. When I showed up they said that my appointment was for March 17. Their response to me was maybe it was either a computer or human error, and that I should be able to understand how that can happen. Sorry but no I don't. I've Been coming here for almost a year now, so I feel like I can finally give an accurate review. First of all, I joined the membership as an add on member to my spouses membership for a discounted rate. I believe I pay 40 to 50 a month, somewhere around there. To me it's totally worth it. I use strictly the facial feature of the membership, however I can pick massage or stretching session as well. I have had both Charlotte and Megan for my facials. Both are awesome, however Megan's schedule seems to work with mine so I end up with her more often than not. Megan is great, She starts the session off by asking if I have any issues with my skin I want her to address. It's usually my hormonal pregnancy breakouts on my fore head. The facial is 50 minutes, with five minutes to change at the beginning and five minutes to change at the end making it a total of 60 minutes for the session. I like that the estheticians don't chat with you the whole time, in fact they just check in every so often to make sure you're still comfortable with the process and the products on your face. It's a very relaxing experience and I could easily fall asleep. I love that they use murad products which are super affordable. I really enjoy my membership as it gives me a monthly treat to look forward to. Overall I am very pleased with my experiences at massage envy. read more

We have been coming here since March . I have used the same therapist since I feel that the massage I'm receiving is good. However, each massage has NEVER been an hour and has gotten a minute or two shorter each month.... I told the therapist last time and an excuse was given... Tho not a good excuse considering the fact that he did not come back into the room until nine minutes after my massage was supposed to begin. Unacceptable . read more

Community beware - I signed up with Massage Envy in Algonquin for a monthly package at the cost of $65/month and have been unable to use the service for the past 12 months due to my work schedule and life demands. They will not accept cancellations over the phone. While I did enter into a contract and accepted those terms legally, I also did not expect to move and cannot control my work demands. I requested a refund in the amount of $780 and was willing to compromise for half and was told by Matt Wise - the owner of this location - he was able but not WILLING to do even a partial refund. He did offer to allow me to transfer the massages at the cost of $10 each to a family member. While I have ownership in the contract, I would have thought a company that focuses on well being would be more sympathetic and willing to compromise. End of day, the responsibility still falls on me, but I do want to warn others to read the fine print before they commit to what is supposed to be a service of relaxation that ended in stress and a hit to my bank account with nothing to show for it. read more

I am extremely disappointed at the Massage Envy at this location. I have gone to the Massage Envy in Vernon Hills before and enjoyed my experience. when I called to make the appointment I made an appointment for a couples massage. we arrived 20 minutes earlyand sat in the waiting room waiting to be called back. at our designated appointment time the person I was with was called back. I asked the woman at thr desk if we were going to be together because I requested a couples massage. She told me they didnt have any available when I called.. I told her that it would have been nice to know that when I booked the appointment. She didnt even apologize. I waited another 10 minutes to be called back. Once I was called back I explained to the girl that I wanted a relaxing massage as I specified when I booked the appointment. She informed me that she was their deepest massage therapist and she'd try to be gentle. The massage was completely over the sheet. No oils were used. She rubbed places I specifically mentioned I didnt want touched. And the massage was so rough as if she was trying to peel the muscles out of my body. I couldn't relax at all. When she left the room my massage was 40 minutes long. I booked an hour massage. I preceded to the waiting room where I waiting another 10 minutes for my friend to come out from their massage.. thats how short mine was. When asked how my massage was I replied "horrible" and the receptionist said "ok" and continued to process my bill. Horrible customer service. Horrible inattentive massage therapists and HORRIBLE time management. I will never go to massage envy again. read more

My first visit and VERY disappointed today. Have had many massages through a chiropractic office for a 1/2 hour visit that were EXTREMELY better! Yes I completed a massage request survey and also spoke with the therapist about the areas of concerns before the massage but it was not all fully completed. Yes I could have requested my concerns along the way but then why I did spend time completing the form and speaking to them prior to the massage (which subtracts 10 minutes from your session). As a therapist if you find areas of concern or other issues why do you not alert your client at the time of the session to either address it then or later! After the massage was completed, my therapist filled out his evaluation and didn't personally speak to me about it....as the front desk clerk said he would....which also is very POOR customer service. Nonetheless, NO I did not sign up for any membership or future visits, packages, products etc. nor will I return to this spa! read more
