This is exactly what I got. There actually was a student there, so both her and the masseuse both worked their magic on me. It was the most intense massage I've ever had (not for wimps!) but that's because I asked for it, and I needed it. I felt amazing after. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the masseuse got there almost 15 minutes late (I know I scheduled my appt last minute, but if she couldn't make it then I could have just scheduled it for 4:15 instead of rushing there just to wait) and it was over 15 minutes of me laying there with a heating pad on my back before anyone came in. This got frustrating after a while because I could hear everyone talking up front so it wasn't peaceful, I didn't know it would be this long of an ordeal (I assumed maybe 5 minutes max of this would happen to warm my muscles up) and I have a heating pad at home if I want 15+ minutes of sitting with it on. I go to the chiropractor every month, but my back still aches, so my chiropractor actually recommended getting massages. I had the combo massage for an hour at $80 & it felt way longer than an hour! Assumed this was half Thai & regular massage, which was great because last Thai massage I had elsewhere was SO PAINFUL. She started by standing on my back and dug her toes in & cracked my back in 4 different places! That's when I knew it was gonna be good! She cracked me in places I didn't even know could be cracked! She asked if I liked it hard in the beginning, so if you don't like it hard just let her know. I like it hard and this was almost perfect.. Thai massages I just assume are slightly more "hard" so I expected it to be, but wasn't overbearing. I must've had a tight right shoulder because she was massaging that area a lot & was relentless until it loosened up. She does full body front & back. She even cracked my neck & sides like my chiropractor does. It was an overall great massage. I actually plan on making this my massage place now. Will be coming back every other month for this massage! Heads up, she does answer the phone during massages which ruined the "zen" but didn't bother me as much. Also felt bad because the person on the phone couldn't understand her thick accent. She was like yelling "see you at 6 pm!" I assume she looses some clients over this.. If you have a bad back, I think Thai massages is the only thing that works. I spent around $130 for a Himalayan rock massage at another place & it was terrible. They just rubbed the rock on my body for an hour & did not touch me once! So hole in the wall Asian places is much better than the boujee massage parlors I been to.

Carol came and talked about all the benefits of massage - things I never knew about! I was definitely a person who has never been interested in massage therapy and knew nothing about it. She blew me away with her knowledge! Through my pregnancy when I started getting towards the end I learned that through all of my lifting and workouts I had made my body really tight and not necessarily prepared for childbirth. I quickly booked a massage at a local, corporate massage place and instantly regretted it. The person had no idea how to massage a pregnant person and was basically doing a typical massage on a pregnancy table. That's when I contacted Carol and set up an appt with her. From the moment I walked in I could tell this experience would be different. She has such a calm demeanor and instantly put me at ease. Her room is calming and smells wonderful! She knew all about different oils to use, pressure points and different massage techniques to do at different stages of pregnancy. I had done a lot of research on these things and she was talking about all of it before I mentioned a thing! She is very cutting-edge in her training, but that is backed with years of experience. I have never felt so confident in someone's expertise and ability in a long time. The massage itself was so relaxing and everything I needed at the time. I saw her a handful of times leading up to my pregnancy and she was awesome about fitting me in when I had time to come see her. It was honestly the best part of the last weeks of my pregnancy and I wish I had gone to her sooner. My body felt great, I felt more relaxed, my mental state was better, and it was just some great "me" time before the baby came. She would even talk to me about massages to do and pressure points to engage to help with some of the problems I was having.
