"Masri" by Janet Jackson Gimme a Kanafa! Sittin' in the movie show Thinkin' Masri thoughts Better buy dessert for me Or you'll turn me off That's right, lemme tell it Masri, Masri boys, don't eat a thing Except for Masri, boys Masri, Masri boys, don't ever change Oh you Masri boys I am such a Masri girl I only like Masri food The only thing I wanna do Is share Masri with you I'm not a prude, I just want some Khanafa (That's right) So bring me Kanafa if you want me to respond Cause Masri is my middle name My last name is Sweets No, my first name ain't baby It's Foxy... Mr Fox E, if you're Masri What to get: Kanafa What else: Everything they serve is good Dre actually took me here. Oh wait, no, he took me to Masri Beats, not Masri Sweets. Masri Sweets. Is. The best. Ever. Like, ever. Simply one of the greatest desserts I've ever had in my life. The number one reason I come to Detroit on a regular basis, and one of the best things of any kind I've ever put in my mouth. Yes, even including those. And yes, those too. I needed soccer shoes, though. They had none. Should have gone to Masri Cleats. The Kanafa I had from here was the second I've ever tried - after the one down the street from Shatila that my good friend in Houston, Zain, recommended. I have to give massive, enormous thanks and credit to Zain, because while the place he sent me to (the rival, Shatila) was excellent, if he hadn't sent me there, I wouldn't have discovered their cross-burb rival here in Dearborn, Masri, and I wouldn't have come here late night to give them a try. And it totally changed my life, and I will be eternally grateful to Zain for that. He just needs to contact me to claim his reward. Shame I couldn't bring the heels girl here (yet). When I do it'll be Masri Feets. Or Masri Teats? So, when I got to Masri, there was a long delay for fresh Kanafa, and plenty of people waiting even close to closing time. Those serving were really, really nice and told me what to order along with the incomparable deliciousness known as the famous Kanafa. Everything was really delicious, but nothing and I mean nothing on Earth can come close to the gooey dreamy perfect warmth of the Kanafa. If it was a butcher shop, it'd be Masri Meats, and if it sold bedding, it'd be Masri Sheets. If they sold chairs, Masri Seats, and if they sold Greeting Cards, maybe Masri Greets. If they were owned by Townshend and Parker (spiderman) they'd me Masri Pete's, whereas if Amanda owned it, it'd be Masri Peets. But it's not. It's up in Dearborn but even if you're nowhere near Dearborn it's worth a massive detour to get here and enjoy this heavenly perfection. I would probably drive hours out of my way to get one. Everyone that shared one with me has said it was one of the best things they've ever tasted. Make sure you get here and try it as soon as possible. The number one place to stop in Detroit. Incomparable. I heard the owner has a side b**ch, but I don't judge, just because Masri Cheats. Get here now. And in the meantime, I'll rap to you. So drive here now, or take a TAXI And if you have no ride, girl, just ASK ME Cause you don't wanna f*** with that Dunkin' CRAP, SEE As Janet would say, that sh** is NASTY And by the way, whoever gave her RHINOPLASTY Has to be the same doc that did Michael JAXY Anyway, my lyricals are getting kinda WAXY And those seeds you gave me kinda taste kinda FLAXY I need a launch pad and I don't mean MAXI And my PC needs protection in case someone HACKS ME My stalker on Yelp uses check ins and TRACKS ME One day, in an alley, I bet the freak ATTACKS ME Until then I'm gonna drink a lot of ABACAXI Com Hortela during drives to WAXAHATCHIE But if you're near Detroit, and you wanna be on CRACK, SEE There's no drug better than Kanafa at MASRI WHAT read more

Absolutely fantastic desserts, but customer service? Ordered 3 half trays ($16 each) and gift platter on 12/12/21. Received my package 11 days later, but it was missing 1 half tray assortment. Emailed on 12/23 upon arrival, on 12/30 and again on 4/21/22. No response or acknowledgment. Also called and left a message. No response. There are other places to order from who care about getting the order right and following up if they didn't. Too bad, because the desserts are delicious. read more

A family-favorite of ours for many many years, especially as gifts for family and friends. It's the perfect size, affordable, and great quality! Pros: lots of variety, friendly employees, good quality Cons: can get very busy and unorganized at times During normal times, my review would be a 5, but the reason for the 3 stars is because there were multiple workers in the store with no mask on. Some with a mask on but bunched under their chin and others with no mask at all. It really irks me when employees don't wear masks and makes me think that they don't care about their customers or workers safety. Our family may have to find a new go-to for our middle eastern pastries. read more

I have ordered almost every year for almost 20 years at Christmas. This year, less than half of the order arrived. No one picks up the phone when you call, no one responds when you email. I see that others have complained about the same, so it is time to order from someone else. read more

Love love love the services, please so clean, not hectic. Everybody needs to take a break from the normal go to I won't say the name. But such good quality, including chocolate baklava's Dubai chocolate the cakes are fresh the cookies have so much variety. The sitting areas are so nice and clean. There is parking. I just love this place and highly recommended to all my Indiana friends too. read more

So I came back after a couple of weeks and they did improve from the last time. I had baqlawa and knafeh, both of which were delicious. The tiramisu was good as well. I also liked how they did have napkins, as compared to last time. I don't have much else to say other than that the place improved. If you want more information go to my previous review. I will be returning. Thank you Masri Sweets! :) read more

In some ways this is the Krispy Kreme of Kanafeh. What's missing is the "HOT FRESH NOW" neon sign. But that's the killer app of Masri Sweets. Why settle for a slice of pretty good kanafeh, that's microwaved on a plastic plate? If you are in Dearborn, you don't have to eat second best. The good folks at Masri have hot batches coming out all the time. And there is nothing quite like watching them cut you a square off that crispy, melty, and sweet motherlode. Do you want pistachios on that? Heck yeah! It feels like it could take a lifetime to figure out which Arabic sweet shops make the best treats. While it may be a delicious mystery to unravel, I'm afraid my metabolism couldn't quite keep up. What is very clear, is that the kunafeh at Masri Sweets is the best one I've ever had. And if someone can find a better one anywhere in the Detroit metro, I'd really like to hear about it, because I"m pretty sure it doesn't exist. read more

Discovered this gem during our visit to Detroit as a result of positive reviews on several sites. Grateful for the heads up We were greeted with a warm "Hello" and a jaw dropping view of an amazing array of goodies! Friendly helpful service, with suggestions and a few samples, helped narrow the selection to just the right mix for us. We left with boxes (not just one box) filled with sweet treats that added to our vacation memories. read more

My new favorite in Dearborn. For me, the pastries are not overly sweet - just right. They are nicely balanced and tasty. I haven't tried the European pastries, but *everything* else I've had has been on point. In particular, I like the ballorieh, burma and mamoul. The service is also just wonderful. They'll often give you a cookie or cup of tea for the road. Nice folks. They are quick, friendly and neat. Pricing is also good - particularly if you purchase by the tray. Highly reommended. read more

We so Love this place the very best in Dearborn a must try. Kanafeh is a traditional Palestinian dessert made with cheese pastry soaked in sweet, sugar-based syrup. It is popular throughout the Arab world, especially in the Levant and Egypt, principally in the West Bank. In addition in Turkey, the Caucasus and Greece. If there's one dessert that rules as the Queen of Arabic sweets, I would nominate Kunafe Nabulsia, the sticky pastry made of gooey sweet cheese sandwiched between layers of shredded kunafe pastry. This specialty from the Palestinian city of Nablus is prepared in enormous round trays, saturated with rose-scented syrup, cut into slabs and garnished with chopped pistachios. In the Middle East, people don't typically prepare kunafe at home. Kunafe is an occasion to go out. read more

This is THE place to go if you want to get your Kunafeh! You can go here and enjoy a quiet coffee with amazing sweets in a clean, relaxed setting. If you need treats for any special occasion, I would recommend here as well. It's bigger than Lebon sweets, and IMO has the BEST kunafeh. I enjoy their version because theres's not too much of a sweet top layer. On a side note, the cookies are also to die for. I also love their attention to detail in their packaging. All of their boxes and bags look very presentable. Prices are worth the quality you will get here. Also, for people that aren't familiar with middle eastern treats, I would recommend the staff here to help. They are very accommodating and friendly. They provided samples to my husband to try, and were able to explain what they had to offer. Well worth the drive!!! read more

I've been going to this place for years because of their sweets but I will not be going there again i did not expect the owner himself to be this rude. I walked in the place and wanted to order 2 kunafa but the worker told me and my Friends they the kunafa will come out in 7 min so we waited at the couch area and then the owner walks in and said if u not gonna order get outta here i was shocked cause I really wanted dessert but after that I ended up leaving I didn't even want anything from thei. read more

Yes yes and yes. Just get the knafeh. Everything else is amazing too. But go straight to that hot sweet malty cheese and thank me later. We came on a Sunday morning I'm the way to the airport. We were the only people there. If I wasn't full I'd get 3 more. read more

Two samples here on the long day of eating on our Bizarre Foods Detroit trip. They have a delicious spread of options for viewing. Make sure you walk around to check out all the desserts. We tried two: Knafeh and Katayef. When we were ready to order knafeh, there was only one piece left and they told us if we waited a few minutes, a fresh hot batch will be ready. If you have the opportunity to wait for fresh ones that come right off the stove, take advantage of it. When it's fresh and hot, the cheese is wonderfully stringy and the whole dish is nice and sweet from the syrup. Although, it wasn't as sweet as I thought it was going to be. I wouldn't categorize it as a dessert. It's topped with crushed pistachios for extra flavor, texture, and appearance. The end result, its gooey, sweet, and crunchy. A good combo. The katayef really doesn't stack up to the knashef. It is not bad but really doesn't offer the level of flavor nor complexity of the knafeh. I guess its not fair to compare them since they are so different, but when your eating them side by side, its hard not to. It's a small stuffed pancake but really not as nicely sweet as the other. read more

I will never come to Detroit without stopping here!!!! Amazing sweets!! Super authentic!

Worst experience ever! We have been coming here from out of state for years. After todays experience it will be the last. Service was terrible, server didn't understand Arabic or English l, order was incorrect and even worse the taste was below the prior standards. When mentioned to the server, she said this was their best. read more

This is the spot that made me fall in love with kunafah and also spoiled me because my standards are now way too high now for kunafah. The space is big- great for bringing a group of friends. They serve other deserts as well- they also have boxed ready gifts full of different sweets as well. The kunafah is constantly made so it is always fresh, it has the perfect cheese pull and they also provide extra sugar syrup. I personally don't think you need it- I think it's perfect as is but I've had it before with the extra sugar syrup and it is amazingggg. I always come here with a fairly large sized group and the staff is always super friendly. If you want good kunafah- this is the only spot to get it! read more

Masri Sweets is a Lebanese bakery. They craft a wide variety of works of art. Pistachios, honey and philo are rearranged in a way that can only be experienced by taste The new location is spotlessly clean. Baroque music playing in the background. Civilized. Make sure to visit East Dearborn. I was born and raised here but left 30 years ago. Back then, we didn't have this luxury. read more

This place is aright. I came in craving kanafah (canafa/ cheese dessert layered with either semolina or shredded Filo. I prefer the latter) the kanafa was ok. They also only offered the semolina version :( I'm also a sucker for petifores so I got a pound of those and they were not good at all. They tasted like hazel nut and petifores shouldn't taste like hazel nut, IMO. My kids got some French pastries and they tasted very standard. Nothing crazy special, but not awful. Prob won't be coming back because I hear there is much better in Dearborn. Lebon had much better kanafah. read more
