Another top option for Kunafa in Detroit. Masri is fantastic and the Kunafa is tied with Lebon at a 9.5/10 if not slightly better. The space itself is open and almost overwhelming with the amount of sweets on display (not a bad thing). The only reason I would go with Lebon sweets for example is the Kaak being better.

My fiancée is from Palestine was craving sweets from home so we made the drive to Dearborn from Ann Arbor just to try this place, and all the desserts were on point. The freshly made knafeh was especially amazing. Above all, the staff were all super friendly and one man in particular made it his mission to make sure we felt taken care of since it was our first time there. A perfect relaxing place to sit down for an evening treat. We brought an assortment of baklawa and other pastries home but will definitely be back for more in the near future.

Favorite place for authentic middle eastern sweets. Best knafeh in Dearborn! The place is a vibe, prices are fair and quick service.

I was looking for a cake for my grandmother's birthday. I didn't have time to order a custom cake so when I looked online for a bakery I like the pictures I saw for this place. I walked in saw a beautiful cake on display with the right flavor and got it. Quick and easy! The cake itself...fantastic! It was moist, soft, and just the right amount of sweetness. It was a strawberry and vanilla cake. The strawberries were dipped in chocolate. Everybody loved it, especially my grandma. I'd definitely recommend this place for cakes!

I love Masri Sweets. It's my go-to. I don't go to any other Arab sweets unless I am out of state. Everything is always fresh and delicious, even if you come within an hour of closing. This time, the service really disappointed me. Usually, the staff is the same anywhere, slightly awkward but helpful. The owners are fantastic. the young man who helped me had a very rude demeanor despite me being nice. I don't know if he had a bad or a long day but he had a really bad attitude. I ordered almost $90 of Kunafa and assorted cakes which is what I usually do..I ask the staff to assort the cakes for me and he was being so rude about it? "I don't want to assort it incase you come back and complain about not liking it..." and I casually told him that' will not be an issue because I always do this, I never come back to complain even if I don't like it , and it's for a guest. General feedback, it will not hurt you to adjust your tone. Regardless, I will keep coming back despite his energy, I will just ask to wait for another staff member.

No customers yet when I walker in before 10AM. I grabbed $68 worth of treats for my team today. I got a tray of the large Red Kanafa, sugar-free. It still comes with some syrup and nuts. The large tray is $50 for the sugar-free version. I also grabbed a small tray of assorted items for $18. The team enjoyed the kanafa and the mixed treats. I thought the ref kanafa was okay, aloof with the assortment of baklava and treats, yet nothing really stood out for me after trying everything.

Masri Sweets in Dearborn has pretty much everything you need to satisfy your sweet tooth. The best thing is that these sweets are all handmade, natural, no chemicals or preservatives and keep for awhile. The shoppe has a very welcoming entrance and you can sit st a table and have a treat over to the side. Cakes, cookies, candies, pastries, and baklava by the slice, pound or tray. Gift boxed or just plain, they'll let you decide how you want it packaged. We were helped by Hawraa and Fatma. They were so friendly and helped us pick really nice treats out. They took special care to wrap the sweets really good so they'd make it back to Chicago without any damage. All the sweet items were delicious and full of nuts and or lightly sweetened cheese and other goodies! We loved all the sweets but I especially loved the wrapped cookie that was packed with ground nuts galore! You don't find those in too many places. I highly recommend this sweet shop for whatever you're looking for. Thanks Hawraa and Fatma for being excellent friendly and helpful ambassadors of Masri sweet shoppe!

Chocolate cannoli (pardon the appearance as it was shaken up a bit on the ride to our hotel).

I saw Masri Sweets on Food Network a few years ago and made it a point to visit when I returned to my husband's home state of Michigan. The young lady behind the counter was friendly and very helpful. Luckily she guided me away from some of the treats my daughter initially thought about trying due to possible nut allergy cross contamination. My daughter was happy with the ice cream selection. I came for the kanafa which was the best I have ever had! I also purchased a chocolate cannoli and baklava which was beautifully wrapped to go. The baklava was ok but the cannoli cream was to die for. This place is worth the hype! Plenty of parking and easy to find. Interior dining area was clean. I will return not only for the kanafa but the other cakes and treats on display. They use quality ingredients and the customer service is excellent!

This place has sweets that are fresh each and every time. I been coming here for 9 years now. Normal experiences but it's never been an issue in service or sweets. Reasonably priced there is a variety to choose from here. The kunafa one of my favorite tastes very good on its own. Turkish delight is good too just be prepared to choose. This place is very well family oriented and caring. That is all. Chief Be the fire in the rain.

I came to visit again and the middle aged guy working back there was very very kind and helpful. He had great customer service and always had a smile on his face! Masri sweets always has the best quality and best tasting sweets in Dearborn and I'll always make it an effort to go there over anywhere else!

O.M.G.!!! If you are looking for the freshest, tastiest baklava in metro Detroit- this is it!! I had a client send this to my office more than 20 years ago, and it's been my "go to" for middle eastern sweets ever since!! The prices, quality and service can't be be beat- and did I mention absolutely DELICIOUS!! The large tray is an over the top gift, and the small tray of philo baklava (pictured) is the perfect host/hostess gift!! My husband was so jealous that I sent these out to clients, that he went on Christmas Eve is pick up two more large trays- and was shocked that we didn't need to pre-order and how fast the service was- Masri is the BEST!!

Those wonderful golden boxes filled with heartfelt goodness!

This place is so extremely awesome! The goodness is heartfelt. The bakers are always ready to accommodate my orders. Love those golden boxes! Never had such good pastries in my life. A true gift from The Holy Land. There is something deeper than just flour, sugar and cream...the phrase "From our heart to your table" is so very true. There is something truly special about these sweets and these bakers. The awesomeness cannot be replicated elsewhere. This is the place to go for the best sweets, period! Thank you Masri Sweets for all you do! Keep up the good work, you are simply the best bakers around! It's me again, same review as Google, just wanted to reach out to those on Yelp!

    Ashta (cream) knafeh

I was in Michigan for the first time and wanted to visit Dearborn to try Arab desserts, so a friend recommended Masri Sweets to me. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy. The lady behind the counter was helpful in explaining the different types of pastries. I wanted to try both the regular (cheese) knafeh and the ashta (cream) knafeh, but they don't keep a batch of the ashta one to dole out by the slice the way they do the regular knafeh. Instead, you can order a small or large tray of it, so I ordered the small tray for $20. After a brief wait, my made-to-order tray of asha knafeh came out packed in a lovely golden box. I had underestimated the size of the small tray because it was actually huge: I brought it to my boyfriend's extended family dinner and it easily fed 8 people and still had half left over. The knafeh was decadent, light and sweet but not overly sweet, and it was a hit with everyone. None of us had tried knafeh before, so it was gratifying that everyone was so impressed by it. Definitely use the syrup that they pack on the side because the knafeh isn't sweet without it. As for the regular cheese knafeh, I wasn't expecting to like it because I'm the weirdo who doesn't like cheese, but it was really pleasant! I don't know the next time I'll be in Michigan, but I'm going to be dreaming about the ashta knafeh until I return. Thank you to Masri Sweets for the lovely experience! P.S. Boyfriend's grandma loved both types of knafeh and said you can tell that the bakery is really classy because of the beautiful box they packed the knafeh tray in. She said it shows that the owners are proud of their product and put a lot of thought into it. I thought that was a nice compliment!

An absolute treat to visit and pick out a great dessert to purchase (or multiple!)…read more After having lunch nearby, we saw many people walking by with boxes from Dearborn Sweets so we decided to stop in after. We were greeted with a large display case of many different options of sweet treats, cakes, pie-like items, and many more things! My friend and I picked 6 things total and it was around $18 only! We were very surprised of how cheap but highly delicious these items were!

While in Dearborn this past weekend, I received a tip from the owner of a local restaurant to try…read more"the best middle eastern bakery in all of Dearborn". That brought me to Dearborn Sweets. I haven't tried any other bakeries in Dearborn, but I can tell you that my experience here was fantastic. Customer service and friendliness were beyond excellent; but be sure to pack your patience at peak times because this spot was slammed. You take a number when you walk in, and then wait, and wait, and wait for it to be your turn. This isn't for lack of staff, because there were at least a dozen people working behind the counter, it's just because they were packed with customers! The selections are overwhelming and since it was my first visit, I needed help. The young lady who helped me was very patient, told me about the differences in their specialized Arabic pastries, showed me her favorites, customer favorites, and descriptions for anything I asked about. I went with a small sampler tray of her favorite specialized pastries and their best sellers. Everything was delicious! Flavors, textures, uniqueness, complexity...all of it. My whole family raved about all the treats, so we ended up going back later in the weekend and purchasing a couple larger trays of our favorites (and some new selections) to take home and share. We all agreed that the Qatayef was easily our favorite; for anyone who doesn't know, it is a small pancake filled with custard, fresh chopped strawberries, chopped pistachios, and drizzled with chocolate...fresh, bright, and mouthwateringly delicious. The only negative I experienced was that when I visited around 10am on Sunday to load up for our trip home, their selections were very limited, and I was told I'd need to come back after 3pm to get some of the things I was looking for. So, I would recommend calling ahead to see if they have a full selection before you go, if you don't live nearby. Ultimately, if you haven't tried Dearborn Sweets, I'd highly recommend giving them a shot. They have tons of middle eastern specialties as well as traditional bakery favorites (such as cannoli, fruit tarts, filled donuts, cakes, etc.).
