We booked 3 cottages at Chito Beach Resort in Sekiu, Washington. My brother and his wife stayed in The Birdhouse (whose deck officially became our favorite hangout spot) We spent many memorable hours there, enjoying the ever changing views of the sea, wildlife, and spectacular sunsets. My sister stayed in The Wolf Den. I stayed in the cottage adjacent to hers, The Lighthouse.  I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Lighthouse Cottage. The bed was soooo comfy. Water pressure was great. So much attention was paid to every charming little detail. Nothing was overlooked.  And that view!  On Saturday night the owners, Tamara and Matt had a little get together around the bonfire with all of the guests at Chito Beach. (There are a total of 6 cottages) They were wonderful and gracious hosts who served us beverages and DELICIOUS appetizers. They made us feel very welcome there.  After I got back home, I sorted through the MANY photos that I'd taken, and decided which ones to post on Facebook.  As gorgeous as some of them are, I think some of the pictures of the sunsets at Chito Beach are even more stunning than my photos of the Cape.  Especially on our last night there. Truly magical and almost otherworldly Our time there was an experience that our family will treasure forever.

We stayed in the motel but there are lots of hookups and campsites and even tie-ups for boats. We were there in early November off-season so it was extra quieter than the summer might be. Our room had a big living room with huge windows so the open sky and bay waters were visible no matter where we stood or sat. A decently outfitted kitchenette, a small dining table with chairs, and a TV with very good reception. Free WiFi. The living room contains a big bed (maybe a king?), too.. The back bedroom is cozy with both a twin bed AND a queen. There is a rack with hangers and a shelf and a window to open. A small bathroom completes the layout. I gotta compliment housekeeping. Older places can be hard to make feel really, really clean yet this place is spotless. Really really clean. The sheets are the crispest, smoothest, sharpest ever and still soft and comfy. The bedmaker gets 10 stars! Price very good and staff responsive and helpful. Recommended a pleasant spot for a burger and a beer (which I would recommend but can't remember their name!). Sekiu is a charming little town. Stop in and spend a night or two at Van Ripers!!! I will be, for sure. Thanks, folks, for a perfect stay. 5 stars easily.

Really impressed with this little property…read more Pros: - Room had everything we needed (bed, sturdy table, kitchen, etc.) - Includes a little kitchen with dishes and everything. I can see this being a little home away from home for fishermen or others. - Great price - booked it on Orbitz I believe and it was super cheap for what we got. - Location was perfect for what we needed for a road trip through the Olympic Penisula - centrally located. - Fantastic view at all times of the day. Right at the water's edge. Cons: - It got really hot in the room. We kept all the windows open in the room and just kept our curtains closed the entire time. That made it better but still quite toasty. - No tub, just a shower - The shower also had a leaky faucet so we had to be creative with how to deal with the drippy drippy water noise.

To refresh, reset and get our bearings. If you want to stay in what my husband and I can only describe as the most peaceful, beautiful, spiritual and breath taking view, we highly encourage you to visit the Quillayute River Resort. We fell in love with our room at the end of the inn. Then we met the Keen's and engaged in conversation with the sweetest kindest people you ever want to know. We finally sold our lake property in Sequim, WA and moved to Europe for retirement. But I will never forget what a wonderful experience we had at this resort, and highly encourage anyone looking for a lifetime memory to book a stay. Ellen and Jerzy Korski

The cabin we stayed at was just what we needed. It was a rustic one bed studio with a private bathroom. It's not fancy but had everything we needed for a fantastic stay! The room came with a large fridge/ freezer, microwave, cookware, dishes and hot plate for cooking. This came in extra handy since we could cook for ourselves instead of relying on the local restaurants. The Quileute Oceanside Resort was a great location to get to points of interest in Olympic national park: Hoh rainforest, lake crescent, etc. these locations are an hour drive from the resort but the drive is beautiful. No TV but I did get cell service. I saw somewhere that only Verizon works in this area. Plan to unplug for a relaxing stay. I would love to stay here again and would recommend this resort to anyone!
