Decided to give this establishment another chance, stopped in for the Rebel burger after a movie with friends. The burger was just perfect, caramelized on the outside but not overcooked with a nice toppings of bacon and a perfect sunnyside up egg to put it over the top. Came here exactly when brunch ended so didn't get to experience it. What a wonderful experience I had coming to Mash'd . I was in the area and was wonderfully greeted at the door, sat at the bar and the bartender Russ was top notch ! First and last time here. I came with a group of friends to enjoy a chill night out, and honestly, the food and atmosphere were great, no complaints there. What completely ruined the experience, though, was the behavior of our waitress. From the start, she was cold and noticeably rude, which we didn't take too personally at first. As teenagers, we've unfortunately come to expect that kind of treatment sometimes, even though it shouldn't be the case. What truly crossed the line was what happened as we were leaving. I had forgotten my glasses, so I walked back to grab them. The waitress approached me, handed them over, and sarcastically said, "Thanks for the no tip," while giving me a double thumbs up. Completely unprovoked, passive-aggressive, and wildly unprofessional. We spoke to the manager, who was respectful and apologetic, we appreciate how he handled it. But the interaction with the waitress was unnecessary and disappointing. Yes, we're teenagers, but we also work. We understand service jobs, and we do tip, when it's within our budget. Wow did we have a good time at Mash D. Top notch service from everyone in the place. We sat at the end of the bar so we interacted with almost everyone. The food was good, we had fried pepperoni (tasted fantastic) and a "Detroit style Pizza". Now I am from Detroit and once worked at one of the three founding places for Detroit style pizza and was a personal friend of the founder of the next generation Detroit style pizzas (Jets). The pizza was good, the dough was somewhat fluffier than the originals but very tasty. The restaurant itself was very nice, clean, well laid out with inflator and outdoor seating. The food arrived shortly thereafter. My husband ordered the 12 buffalo chicken wings. They were delicious. Juicy, flavorful and nicely presented. My salad was incredible. We took takeaway and ordered the bulgogi tacos, chicken and avocado tacos and the powerbowl. My husband was thoroughly satisfied with his Powerbowl and wolfed it down. My 2 year old daughter had the chicken and avocado tacos and gobbled up her bacon, avocado, pineapple relish, and some of the chicken. However she seemed to really enjoy my bulgogi on my tacos instead. Go figure. I ended up eating her other taco and having 2 tacos with all the bulgogi taco fixings minus the bulgogi. The bulgogi taco comes with a sauce (soy sauce, garlic and some other stuff) and some pickled shallots. I don't usually like anything pickled but adding these to the taco make it super yummy (even without the meat)! The chicken and avocado tacos gave 2; while the bulgogi tacos are 3. Not a ton of bulgogi in each taco tho. Also I ordered a side of biscuits and honey. This was probably the worst part of the meal bc they were quite hard and chewy. I'm not sure if it was over baked or bc it was takeout but wouldn't order again. What I'm really impressed with is their friendliness and attentiveness to food allergies though. My daughter can't have egg and dairy and when I called in my order,the lady was sure to check with the kitchen to make sure none of her food had any of the allergens. When I picked up, she also let me know the biscuits had cheese. (Those weren't for my daughter anyways but I really appreciated her attention To detail)! The issue was the service. Let me start that I don't blame the bartenders for neve being around--when they were, they were great. It appeared to me that the bartenders not only service the bar, but a number of tables behind the the area in which I sat. Let's just say that the bartenders never stopped. So I lay this issue with management....not the bartenders. Oh, how I've missed Mash'd! I made reservations online for two and was seated promptly. The booths now have added what I assume is plexi glass to provide more safety between guests. I actually loved that! I could not hear anyone else's conversation but the one I was having, which is sometimes a struggle at crowded restaurants. Our server was friendly and was quick to provide us with anything we needed. Wish I could remember her name, because she was great! My only issue was, I spotted 2 or 3 servers without masks. I would not mind too much, but they were by the restrooms which is a small path way and I had to walk by them. The food and drinks continue to taste delicious. Today we were hungry for something new but comfort food filling. We took a gander at the menu online and decided to give it a go at Mash'd. It should have been a RED FLAG when I noticed the drinks on the menu as that normally signals lushy patrons who don't taste the food only the alcohol. Unfortunately I'm an eternal optimist. Part of the problem was our horrid waiter. He brought us water but didn't take a drink order. On my way out I noticed the stack of papers showing the specials - he never mentioned. We only saw him twice, once to take our order and again to bring our food. We had to go to the bar to pay. The food did come out fast. We all appreciated that as if we had to wait for the food too long it may have not been so edible in our eyes. The flavors weren't bad. I did feel like they were trying too hard with the two sauces. They were knarly. For comfort food the portions were just tiny. We went for dinner, they were ok lunch portions. I feel like instead of corn being inside the meatloaf it would have been better as a pile on the side with a little crema and a dash of spices. My own mini patti would have been appreciated instead of getting what looks like a slice cut in half. Further emphasizing the odd "comfort food" portions. And a bigger helping of potatoes considering what we paid. The rib meat just seemed like any old pork. Though he did find tiny bones in the meat. I know it wasn't deliberate but we all joked that it was in there to prove it was rib meat. These dishes were all about the sauces and they didn't really work for any of us. Now I wish I'd tried the bulogi tacos or chicken and biscuits instead of getting what one of my companions ordered. There's nothing worse that not being able to eat a meal I paid for, or lingering in a restaurant that disappoints me. So we were pleased, as one of my companions said, it's all ultimately edible. And reading other reviews it seems brunch may be better, but we weren't impressed and won't be returning. read more

Overall the food was meh and the service was subpar. Our server wasn't very attentive, often disappearing for long lengths of time leaving our drinks empty. I ordered a bar drink that I received at the end of my meal, pretty much making it pointless. When the server came to the table to take our initial order she set another table's dirty dishes down on our table. Already bitten food from the dirty dish landed on our table. Just left a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. Oh and the server cursed, I'm not a prude and I curse like a sailor just found it odd that she was so comfortable to curse in front of other folk's children. The food wasn't anything to rave about either. The egg fries were salt and fennel only. The gravy had no the flavor the sausage was reminiscent of Italian sausage and the fried were too soggy to stand up to a runny egg and gravy. The French toast was good enough, nothing special for the price just average French toast. I'm a huge cheese fan but the biscuits had no other flavor than cheese, all the salt the biscuits needed where on the egg dish. Not sure I'd give this place another try. As mentioned in another review of a restaurant at The Rim, the architecture/ambiance of restaurants in the area is, surprisingly, very good. Hearty meals are served here so don't expect something for the gentle palate. The wait, bar and bus staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was good. We tend to be margarita snobs (I make one of the best in the world...) so we tried their signature margarita on the specialty drink section of the menu. It failed for two reasons: 1) it was a little too sweet for our liking, and; 2) IT-WAS-TOO-DAMNED-SMALL. For our second round we therefore switched to draft beer. Having said all that, the food was and reasonably priced. And the menu is varied enough that we will come back and try other items. read more

I've been here a couple of times and I usually order the cheeseburger omelet ($10.79) and it is always delicious! It really does taste like a cheeseburger and would probably the perfect "hangover"-esque brunch dish. The chicken & biscuits ($16.29) is also a really good option too!! The one thing I wouldn't recommend is the garlic broccoli. It was extremely salty and also you get like 5-7 pieces of broccoli for $3.50. It's just not worth it. The staff is always pretty nice here and you can just look around to see that they are juggling like 1,000 different things so I appreciate them!! Please come here for brunch! This was the first time we tried this restaurant. We came on a Saturday and boy the place was packed . We didn't realize that this place was a very popular place for brunch and we came in at 12 noon and had to wait at least 15 minutes to get a table because we didn't make any reservations. But the wait was all worth it . I ordered the shrimp and crab volcano which was a bomb. It was bursting with flavor, even with a good amount of rice in that dish it tasted so good . A good combination of the saltiness of the shrimp and cheese and the sweetness of the snow crab and with the rice in there , the dish was so balanced . My husband ordered the Rebellious burger which was just average and he like the crispy and well flavored fries in it . A close co-worker of mine recently raved about their brunch ...and I was reminded we needed to try them again. This past Friday I worked from home and took my wife to lunch to give Mash'd another shot BIG. MISTAKE. We arrived and we were seated. For noon-ish on a Friday, it was decently crowded, but not PACKED. We sat. We were brought our drinks. We sat. We sat. Waited. Waited. Waited. Finally, 10+ minutes later, we left. As we walked to a different dining location across the way, I called the manager. I was not ugly, but I thought he needed to know they just lost our business to inattentive wait staff.
