The food quality at this establishment has gone downhill. Not sure if they had a chef change, but was very disappointed with the flavors of the butter chicken and the makhni paneer. No flavor at all and will not be back because of that. Service is still very good and friendly. It is beautiful inside with a great vibe! The food items that were good were the garlic naan, the vegetarian appetizer and the masala chai tea. The Indian beer was also good. My dad did say his lamb dish was good as well.
Definitely my new favorite Indian food spot in Williamsburg. The food was so flavorful and the service was just amazing. We ordered Crab Masala and Chicken Sarson Ka Saag (both level 2 spice). The meat for both was so soft and the crab masala was the best thing I've ever tasted. So smooth and creamy and the crab chunks were pretty big.
Marsala Craft is a true Williamsburg treasure. As someone who has dined here multiple times, I can confidently say the restaurant remains consistently excellent. The atmosphere is lovely, the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is simply outstanding. For those not familiar with Indian cuisine, the staff is great at explaining the menu and making recommendations. For those who love Indian food, you can rest assured they do things right here. Everything is fresh and can be made as spicy as you like. We've loved every dish, from the lassi and the chaat of the day to the main courses. As a starter, I highly recommend the Assorted Vegetable Sampler and the garlic is always a must-have, it's absolutely excellent. For the main course, you can't go wrong with the Tandoori Chicken Tikka and Cauliflower Mushroom Steak. Both are very delicious and made as spicy as you can handle. The portions are generous, so you'll definitely have leftovers to enjoy later. The combination of amazing food, an excellent wine list, and a wonderful atmosphere makes Marsala Craft the best Indian restaurant in Williamsburg. Their drink selection also complements the food perfectly; the Rupee IPA, in particular, goes exceptionally well with the spicier dishes.
We love India food. Greeted right away and it looked really busy . We were seated in 5 mintues. Tables were really close together and I am usually not a fan of that but the people at the adjoining table were so nice. Inside is really an upscale restaurant so it was a wonderful experience. The service was impeccable. Very attentive and friendly. We all loved it!! My only negative thing is that I wish with the appetizer I can order quantity. We ordered the punjabi samosa. Excellent by the way but there were 3 of us and we only got 2. Crisp and flavorful. Tikka Masala-great flavor, perfect amount of sauce to chicken ratio. Everything was steaming hot. My favorite. I got a 3 heat and it was perfect. Vindloo-great flavor, I had never had this before and I have to say I will be getting again and again. Got a 4 heat level and at first it is perfect but as you continue to eat it feels like it gets hotter. But still super yummy The Naan Bread was very fresh and I always get the garlic. It was so great I ordered more. I have to say I ate too much . It was wonderful. Chennai style Chicken Curry-excellent flavors. Got the 3 heat and that was perfect for us. Creamy and just the right amount of sauce and chicken and the rice was also seasoned. Basmati rice made perfect. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
The appetizers were delicious. I wasn't able to capture photos of the appetizers, but my favorite was the fried cauliflower dish. As for the meal, this is where the service went wrong for me. My meal said that it included rice. Everyone else at the table was served a gigantic bowl of rice and when I told the server I didn't receive my bowl of rice for the curry, he was rude and embarrassed me in front of my table and other guests and said I could share rice with others at my table. It's cold and flu season so I don't feel comfortable sharing food. Needless to say, when I was later offered rice by the server I denied it because at this point I'm annoyed and he had already made me feel embarrassed in front of the people I was with. I ended up eating my curry with no rice. It wasn't good enough curry for me to enjoy it without rice to be completely honest. There is no reason a restaurant like this should have individual meals that promise rice as a side and then serve rice "family-style". I put family style in quotations as normally this dining style would include one meal being selected for the whole table to pass around and share. As for the flavor of the curry, I wasn't impressed. Overall, my experience yesterday at Masala Craft wasn't great. I'm hoping this was just an off experience.
Loved every part of this restaurant. Family-owned and operated with authentic and creative dishes. Ordered the chicken and paneer tikka masalas which were delicious and fresh and plentiful in protein. Then ordered galab jamun and ghee bundt cake which were served warm and melted in your mouth. The ghee bundt cake was something we've never had and I would go back just for that in a heartbeat. A must try. The ambiance and table settings are immaculate as well. This restaurant should not be missed if craving Indian and in the area.
This place is always wonderful; it's our favorite Indian restaurant, called Masala Craft. We usually visit once a month, and each time we arrive, we're reminded of how great the space is. The atmosphere is inviting, the vibe is fantastic, and the people are friendly. Today, we enjoyed the seafood Kasundi and salmon with garlic naan, which is always fresh. Our usual appetizer is the house salad, featuring a delicious cinnamon vinaigrette. If you're in the area, I highly recommend trying this place! Will certainly return.
Everything was delicious and the cocktails were so very good!!! I had the butter chicken and my daughter had the chicken Marsala . The drink was excellent and just what the doctor ordered! Beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommended and will definitely be returning

I come to this area every quarter for work and have experienced many Indian food options over the past couple of years, and this place takes the win on authenticity and taste! Whether you're in for your standard butter chicken or wanting to try their unique tandoori chicken, this place offers options that will make your mouth water. A must try from this place is the Mango Rupee beer--it's great if you're trying the spicy options to give that refreshing finish. Their naan is made fresh and comes out piping hot! If you're daring enough, I recommend trying out the bullet naan--baked with fresh Serrano peppers and other spicy fixings. The family who owns this amazing establishment all works in house, the bar, server, and chef. You can just feel the warmth of their hospitality from entrance to exit. For locals and visitors alike, please make sure you check this place out!
Yay! They have Papadams offered as Papads so incredibly delicious! Thin and crispy served fresh and hot which I eat without any sauce though my hubby likes the mint one. I had jumbo crab Marsala and hubby had chicken vindaloo. I asked for 2 out of 5 vs. hubby's request for 7 out of 5 for spiciness. He said it was well spiced but not enough. Hey, I know.

This spot is amazing! We shared 2 orders of garlic naan and one order of butter chicken with rice! A perfect date night spot and meal. The food was absolutely incredible, and full of spice and flavor. The restaurant is pretty, clean, and a great vibe. The service was quick, the staff were very attentive! A lovely evening at a lovely restaurant! Definitely recommend for both tourists and locals! read more
My first thought was that one comes to Williamsburg expecting like a vegetable pastie or gingerbread or something, not Indian food. To be fair though, India and Williamsburg were both British colonies. Having said that, this particular Indian restaurant has a Goan-influenced menu, which is actually the historically Portuguese part of India. There is a lot worth trying. It was a pleasant setting with indoor and outdoor tables; given the rain and wind I sat inside even though the outdoor tables were covered. Spoiled for choice, I got a fairly straightforward lentil soup to start before ordering a more adventurous dish of tofu and mushrooms in an onion-heavy curry. They offered the option to order okra as a side dish, which I don't usually see but jumped at the chance to do. An aloo paratha on the side was quite filling and good for mopping up the curry. Salt was a bit excessive, particularly with the bread I think. The actual amount of tofu in my curry could have been more, but the flavors were abundant. My chai arrived unsweetened and with options to sweeten it myself, which I deferred on. A lot of people got takeout, but for a place to eat in and get a high quality and regionally distinctive meal, this place fit the bill. read more

I ordered takeout. Got the palak kulcha and the shrimp tandoori. Both were fantastic! The portion size was VERY large, I had enough for 3 meals. read more

Once again a delicious meal! I live spicy foods, so it's a treat when I order a spice level of 5 out of 5 when teh cook actually listens and makes it that way. Too often I hear "we didn't think you'd eat it that way, so we made it milder-just add hot sauce. That completely changes the flavor. Here, they cook their foods to the spice level requested (wife is not as bold as I am, and she is happy with spice level she requests). Keep up the good work! read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before. I come here at least once per month. There are only two Indian restaurants worth going to in Williamsburg and this is one of them. I love the atmosphere here it's very modern, clean, and ethnic. Many of the staff are family which makes it feel very quaint. I love their cocktail list! They have the old favorites and then some with an Indian twist! Try bring the smoke. The wine list is ok, I do wish there were some Italian wines on the red list though. Service, ambience, and cleanliness are all out of the park. The menu really is amazing. I had the lamb bites and padad with mint chutney for appetizers and they didn't disappoint. My favorite dish here is the saag, but other main courses I've tried have been spectacular as well. There is however one dish that I get no matter what when I come here, the fermented Indian vegetables. I have never heard nor experienced this before this restaurant. It's a citrus/tangy/slightly pungent side dish. It goes amazing with any curry. I like to put a little on my spoon with the saag each bite. When visiting Williamsburg and you want something intimate with fine dining this is your place. read more

This was my first time here and I would highly recommend it! The service was very attentive, I told the waiter I typically enjoy martinis and after ordering, the bartender came by to specifically recommend the cocktail the "Doctors's Order". It was delicious!!! We ordered the Lamb Seekh bites and they were really tasty. For entrees we ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Cashew Korma with chicken. The true show stopper was the Garlic Naan!! Easily the best naan we've ever had!! Made our entrees absolutely explode with each bite. We will certainly be back! Top 5 places in Williamsburg for sure. read more

I was fortunate to accidentally discover Masala Craft Indian Cuisine during their soft opening. This new restaurant offers by far the best Indian food in Williamsburg: it is on par with restaurants in larger, more diverse communities. The house salad may be my new favorite food. The tartness of cumin vinaigrette was the perfect balance to the sweetness of the beets and candied pecans and the savory goat cheese. We enjoyed the assorted vegetable plate appetizer. The Punjabi Samosas were the best I have ever had. The jalapeño cheese cutlet was a tasty twist on poppers. The platter had two of each sampling served with a slightly sweet dipping sauce. Marsala Craft offers several classic sauces with a choice of protein. The Paneer Tikka Masala had the perfect amount of heat based on my request. The sauce was a creamy delight over the tender paneer. The food here was delicious! It has quickly come my favorite Indian cuisine in Williamsburg. We tried the butter chicken, garlic naan, samosas and the cucumber tomato salad. All were very flavorful & they gave you the option to choose your spice level, which we loved! We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and the place was quite busy. read more

Five stars for this relative newcomer to the Williamsburg scene. Fantastic food, service, and a modern setting to boot. I've visited Masala Craft twice, once for a lunch date and once for a family dinner. Both were excellent! I highly recommend the cauliflower appetizer, the spinach entree (apologies for not having the proper menu names), and the donut dessert. The salads, rice, and naan are great too! The more mainstream dishes such as the tika masala and vegetarian goan are very good as well. You can't go wrong. Prices are about average for Williamsburg and the service was exceptional both visits. read more

Amazing. Family owned and fantastic. The Indian dishes are some on the best I've ever had and the service is exceptional. This restaurant is a must if Indian cuisine is a favorite and the cocktails were an added surprise. Interesting and hand crafted!!! Don't miss! read more
