    Employee "helping" us

Worst Bridal Appointment ever I never write reviews but something has to be said. A friend that I will call bride for her privacy and I recently went to an appointment booked at Masako Bridal we arrived early because we were excited it was the first place we had made an appointment for the bride and the dresses looked beautiful. Upon arriving the woman helping us seemed not friendly but that was fine maybe she had a bad day, but as we continued through the appointment her attitude and expression was rude and unkind that the bride was very upset and so was I. As a former bride and bridesmaid I have been to bridal appointments and the lady helping us not only did not smile or say congratulations once, she did not offer any clamps to get the proper fitting or a veil to try on with her dress. I specifically asked if they had clamps for the dresses but she said they couldn't because of the material. But for any of the dresses? I see review photos of other ladies having their dresses clamped here. From the looks of the reviews on the shop it looks like we didn't get the usual service that is provided and it sucks that the first time the bride tried on dresses she was treated so poorly and didn't even get a bit of a smile or excitement at all. I have attached the photos of the woman's expression as the bride is trying on the dress you can clearly see by her posture and facial expression that she was not happy to help us. Mind you I was not taking pics of the employee! I was trying to get photos of my bride and when I looked back at the photos saw these. I would never recommend anyone to a place where an employee treats a new bride like that. I sincerely hope no other new bride has to experience that because it's such a special time and this employee really made it sour.

Review on the process: i got the dress in 5 months before the wedding. had to go in at least 5 times to make sure the dress was fitted right. There were a lot of alteration since I'm petite but the process was not bad at all. All the ladies that worked there were amazing and helpful. At the end of it, the dress was just right for the wedding. At the wedding I got many compliments about how timeless and beautiful/classy the dress was. Thank you for making the experience wonderful! Also I found out you can no longer park at Masako so if you are looking for parking, park at Wholefood and walk across the street. :)

She literally gave no fck about helping anyone and was on cell the entire time with an attitude

They really need to get rid of the grouchy girl who works here. Didn't get her butt off the chair once and somehow was aggressive with me for having a hard time finding place!! She also has a side business after I bought a dress and gave me palaka items. I support you girl but damn did I want you to actually do your job and help me with sizing or SOMETHING. Literally said have a look yourself and that was it ! Also had dresses in dressing room from previous appointment and I had no room to change. How embarrassing. It's giving jealous and wanting to make other women feel bad for being excited for their big day.

If you are reading Yelp reviews trying to narrow down which shop to make an appointment with on Oahu. You can stop now, YOU HAVE FOUND THE ONE! Masako Bridal saved my wedding! I purchased dress from a different shop, on a different island, months before my February wedding. It arrived and they began alterations. The dress became something that I did not feel good, happy, joyous, beautiful in. I could not breath in it, and I could NOT walk down the aisle in it. (aka they ruined it) for me. By the time I realized that they were not going to be able to fix this dress I was only 20 days away from the wedding. TWENTY DAYS. Can you feel the panic? I immediately started looking for dresses online that were ready to ship. And, I started looking at bridal shops on Oahu. When I found that Masako carried Jenny Yoo - and that they were the oldest shop on Oahu - I scheduled their next available appointment and I sent a message explaining my delimma. I had no clue whether they would be able to help because, well, TWENTY DAYS! Let me tell you the wave of comfort that followed that message is something special. They responded quickly and assured me that they would be able to help me find something I love. They offered options like purchasing off of the floor and even mentioned a rental option. They texted back and forth a bit to get an idea of what I was looking for before the last minute appointment. They immediately made me feel like I was in the best hands! And, as you can see by the photos - SUCCESS! I went to the appointment in the beautiful boutique. It was so private! No additional customers walking around. Kaylyn + Maddy pulled the perfect dresses for me. Kaylyn could see me trying to facetime mom and sis - no problem! She grabs a tri-pod and sets my phone up. They were empathetic, compassionate, and felt like sisters helping a sister out! And, of course they pulled THE ONE! I purchased it off the floor, and their seamstress came out and pinned and measured me on the spot. I returned a week later to a dress that fit perfectly, fell perfectly with my shoes on, and, most importantly, I could breath in! Haha - but seriously, I felt like a queen in that dress! What a crazy happy ending Masako Bridal gave me! Also, their service didn't end when I walked out with the dress. They were available by text to answer any questions I had. They advised me on what to do and what not to do. For example, not to get it dry cleaned, but spot clean. Get a good steam in before putting it on. And, to get the professional/perservation cleaning done afterwards. Any clarification I needed - they gave it! I can't thank the Masako Bridal Ohana enough! Without your help and this dress, my dream wedding would not have been possible!

Came here back in September to look for my wedding dress, I was determined to get my dress here because of my budget. I wanted to get a dress for no more than $1200. Although there are other bridal shops on the island, I didn't want to go over board on an expensive dress. I went to my first appointment to look and try on dresses with two of my close friends and my mother. I was pretty nervous going in but right when I stepped into their store the lady working (sorry I don't remember her name) welcomed us in like we were family. (My initial thought after the appointment was like wow this lady is really good at her job and customer service ). She led us the the fitting room and she picked out some dresses based off my budget and what style I was looking for. I also picked out some and I was getting a little worried because I couldn't find a dress that I really loved... Until the last dress I tried on and I found the dress I wore to my wedding. The price was $1200 but the lady helping me said it was the last of its design and that the designer wasn't going to be making anymore. I was so sad until she told me that since it's the last dress and it's the display dress that I could have it for $600!! Basically 50 percent off of course I took that deal! So I bought the dress and scheduled my second appointment for the alterations because the dress was quite too big for me and they had to cinch in the chest part. For my second appointment I went with my two cousins that weren't able to make it to my wedding because they live on the mainland. They helped me get a second opinion in with the alterations. I went back after this for my third appointment to try on my dress with the new alterations and everything was all good. I left that day with my dress! All together with the original price of the dress and the alterations, I spent about $900 in total. The staff at Masako bridal were the best, they were super attentive and I had a great experience with them. Thank you Masako bridal for your awesome services, I definitely recommend this business. I'm happy to support a small business like this one! Everyone loved the dress, my husband said it was very beautiful . **Also keep in mind that this is a small business meaning that they don't have a big selection to choose from.

If you are a bride you need to come here!!! Especially if you are a last minute bride like myself. ;) I came in here ~3 weeks before my wedding unsure what I was going to wear and Maddy helped me SO much. I priced many places to get a dress I bought online altered to fit me better and they by far had the best prices! They also had options to rent. Since I was unsure about the dress I bought online and didn't do too much looking I came here. Often you go to bridal stores and they are pushy, trying to upsell you, or the WORST spend way too much time talking about "Oh don't gain weight" or other body shaming that I am not into! Masako is the complete opposite of this and gave me best bridal experience. They truly care. Maddy was so kind, patient and helpful. She took me under her wing and gave honest advice! She also hyped me up unlike some of the dress try on horror stories I have heard of. I appreciated her help so much. I also rented a beautiful long veil and they did an excellent job tailoring my dress to my body so I felt confident & comfortable on my wedding day! They also have a beautiful Pearl veil (see pic) that I almost rented ahh but went for the more plain. The pearl veil is soooo cute and wayyy cheaper to rent. I wouldn't go anywhere else! They helped me so much and took away all the dress stress I had. Highly recommend supporting local!

This is my second wedding dress a party dress .

This exactly what I have been dreaming my whole life .

    Photo from wedding day

Well, the only downside is that I found my dress right away. I wanted to keep shopping since I had so much fun! I went during the sample sale in 2022. I went on Saturday and it was BUSY! I tried on some dresses and left, giving others a chance to get in there! I went back the next day at the end of the day since I had some time to kill and it was very quiet! That's when I found my gown! It was $300 and turned out perfectly, I'm obsessed with it. I had my alterations done in shop and they were easy and affordable. I was jumping around by the end of the reception and everything was "held in" beautifully! It was such a great dress!! Everyone was so nice in this shop. They made it fun and it felt low pressure, which I appreciate. I just wish I could go shopping again!

Where do I start? Masako Bridal is THE BEST bridal boutique on Island! They offer an array of designers dresses and they've got the eye for great dresses! I went in looking for a Jenny Yoo dress but I walked out with a Justin Alexander dress that I FELL IN LOVE WITH! Kaylyn made my experience so much fun and super memorable! I couldn't recommend them more! If you're looking for the perfect dress for your big day I'd definitely say to give Masako Bridal a try! You will not regret it!

Shopping in Downtown Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. Looking for a gown for a formal wedding, I entered Do's Formal. Located on the corner of King Street and Smith Street, I parked in a loading zone which is free after 4pm. Inside, the store is filled with many gowns and even tuxedos! The variety colors and styles is overwhelming. I saw the arrows on the ground which help customers because a person could get lost in there! Service was friendly in the beginning, but cooled off in the end when I didn't like the dress that was suggested to me. I went in the dressing room, but didn't need help with the zipper. I did pull the straps shorter for a better fit, but tailoring the dress would be too much. If you need a wedding gown, suit, or prom dress, take a look here! Some styles look like beauty pageant fashion!

Her staff pulled 3 dresses for my were daughter who was shopping for a wedding dress for a Fall wedding 2026. We had gone to 2 stores in LA where she lives and couldn't find anything in her price range, under $1,000. I had made 2 bridal appointments since she is home for the holidays! The first one we canceled because the girl who was going to assist had a cough! Even though, she would wear a mask, we didn't want to take any chances! So fortunately, we went here Do Formals! It is in Chinatown and since it was a Sunday, we could find street parking! The first 2 dresses fitted her perfectly! "Like a glove" no alterations needed except to hem! They both were beautiful that we couldn't decide which one we liked more! It was the same price too $799! My daughter decided on the second one cause it would match her lacy sneakers and it had pockets! Who doesn't like a dress with pockets! Jackie helped us find the perfect veil! The lace on the outer edges matched the lace of her dress! The veil was so reasonable too! Only $69! What a deal! Spending 90 minutes to find the PERFECT gown and veil within her budget was so Lucky! It was fate! Will be back to get it hemmed! Thanks a million Jackie for all your help and valuable recommendations!

Let me start off by saying that the ladies who work here are literal ANGELS. They are patient,…read morekind, accommodating, and are truly there to help you find a dress that, in their owners words, "make you feel like a million bucks!" I visited Casablanca over a little less than a year ago now, and from my first visit to my very last, they were amazing. First off, don't be fooled by their smaller boutique, they have many dress options and were super accommodating on me wanting a long sleeve dress to cover my arm tattoos. They were totally non-judgemental and made me feel beautiful no matter what dress I tried on. I ended up going with a fitted mermaid style dress that was not what I expected- I originally wanted an a-line dress but somehow I fell in love with a totally different dress style. The dress was about 1-2 sizes too small, so we ordered the dress in one size up per the owner and 6 months later, my dress came in. Now, the only thing they didn't do was measure me at my first appointment, so unfortunately when the dress came in, it didn't fit me perfectly. It was definitely too tight on my arms and my chest area. They did say they could take out the dress and make alterations, but my mom felt that there wasn't enough room to let it out. They ended up calling the owner, who allowed me to look at a few new dresses that just came in while she checked if they could order my dress in another size up. Mind you, this was 3 months away from my wedding date, so I was really nervous that it wouldn't come in on time. I ended up trying on another dress closer to my original vision, a-line, long sleeve, and totally beautiful. Now this new dress was 2 sizes too big, but because of the original dress mishap, they said they would provide alterations for free! I was stunned by their kindness and their need to make what happened right. So now, 3 months before my wedding, I now had a new dress, and they were able to alter it to fit me perfectly. And listen, their tailor is literally amazing- so don't doubt the power of a great tailor, because the dress literally felt made for me after being way too big. To wrap it up, on my wedding day, my wedding coordinator did not know/could not zip up my dress. I'm going to skip all of the crash out moments (lol), but long story short, we called Casablanca, and they a) tried to explain it over the phone, then b) facetimed us to try and show how to get the dress to zip up, and when that didn't work, they literally drove down to my wedding venue and helped me into my dress. When I tell you these ladies are angels, I MEAN IT. I could not believe how much they were willing to do to make sure I was able to wear my incredibly beautiful dress. THANK YOU Casablanca!!! I cannot recommend them enough. You all are amazing and helped me feel "like a million bucks"!

Made an appt for the next available Saturday which was 3 weeks away. My wedding is 10 months away, so I knew I had to give enough time for shipping. If all goes well, the dress will be arriving 4 months to the wedding, to which we have ample time for dress fitting. There are 2 main waiting areas at Casablanca, downstairs and upstairs. We waited downstairs until the previous party was completed with their appt, to which we then moved upstairs. I showed Rowena pictures, she pulled a 3 options out. I already knew I didn't like the way some of them looked, she then pulled out 3 more. Then I tried them on. By that point, I already narrowed it down to that 2nd set of 3, Rowena had picked out. Came back the next day with my mom and sister for final approvals. Paid for and ordered a dress that Sunday. The process for trying on dresses was seamless and painless, thanks to Rowena. She truly is amazing at her job and makes you feel so comfortable. As for parking, there are a few stalls in their garage, or you can pull up on the grass up front if your car can go off-roading a little bit. There's also street parking nearby, but definitely carpool if you got several people coming by with you.

The store associates did not seem especially friendly and no one said a word to us when we walked in on multiple occasions, nor were they very helpful or obliging. Very cold, if I'm being honest. The groom stopped by after friends and family began returning their suits and the employee that helped them refused to let the groom their suits for important rings (not the wedding rings, don't worry!) that were in one of the pockets with the reasoning of "it's already been boxed up". I know we aren't the center of the universe, but being understanding of others' situations seems like a basic customer service skill. Especially because it was very clear how visibly shaken up he was about the missing rings. It also wasn't a very busy day so I can only chalk it up to laziness and a lack of care. I will definitely think twice about coming here when friends or family need suits...
