I was looking for a place that had formal dresses for kids. When we walked in, we're immediately greeted and led to the area where the kids dresses were. The guy asked her what color dress she wanted and when she told him he started pulling the ones they had out. Both him and his wife were the absolute sweetest and so helpful. The lady definitely knew her stuff and even knew what shoe size to bring without me even having to tell her what size. The prices were very reasonable and the dresses are really good quality. I've found my shop for formal dress needs!

I loved this shop and had a great time choosing and selecting the dress I wanted. I went to one shop before hand and looked for hours. I couldn't find the perfect dress, but decided on an okay one. Walking down the street we ran into this shop, and it was already near closing, but they welcomed us and helped us so much. I found a dress and fell in love, and it was gorgeous. They gave me free alterations, shoes, and jewelry, and took the shoes out of the final price because I had shoes already. Overall a great experience, and the lady was so nice. I found my perfect dress and I'm in love with it. "If you're happy, I'm happy"- the kind woman who helped me find alterations for this dress.

Pros: Lots of dress shirt, tie and few vest colors for a cheap price. Cheap Tux for those on a budget. They got nice selection of dresses also. Cons: Sometimes they can be unwelcoming but not all the time. Not making excuses but that's how some Chinese cultures are, very aggressive and blunt especially under stress. The lady doesn't mean to be rude it's because some Chinese languages sounds loud so when they speak in English it's loud lol. Who's cares though? They have nice selections and affordable! Parking I suggest is the one behind Bank of Hawaii, entrance from Nimitz right after smith street or the parking garage On Maunakea Street (right side) before the light on King Street or if you're lucky, street parking.

Jade N.

Nice and cheap place for little ring bearer's to get their tux. You will spend less than 45/50 bucks...in comparison to renting a tux for 80 bucks. chinese owners... lady is assertive and a good sales lady. she knows how to get you going with her compliments. it's in chinatown. so in general, parking is not so pleasant.

Place is super small but we found the dress we wanted, reasonably priced, and was able to get it altered in house within a few days.

I pretty much found the same style dress as Calista at this store, but nicer and $100 cheaper!

Let me start off by saying that the ladies who work here are literal ANGELS. They are patient,…read morekind, accommodating, and are truly there to help you find a dress that, in their owners words, "make you feel like a million bucks!" I visited Casablanca over a little less than a year ago now, and from my first visit to my very last, they were amazing. First off, don't be fooled by their smaller boutique, they have many dress options and were super accommodating on me wanting a long sleeve dress to cover my arm tattoos. They were totally non-judgemental and made me feel beautiful no matter what dress I tried on. I ended up going with a fitted mermaid style dress that was not what I expected- I originally wanted an a-line dress but somehow I fell in love with a totally different dress style. The dress was about 1-2 sizes too small, so we ordered the dress in one size up per the owner and 6 months later, my dress came in. Now, the only thing they didn't do was measure me at my first appointment, so unfortunately when the dress came in, it didn't fit me perfectly. It was definitely too tight on my arms and my chest area. They did say they could take out the dress and make alterations, but my mom felt that there wasn't enough room to let it out. They ended up calling the owner, who allowed me to look at a few new dresses that just came in while she checked if they could order my dress in another size up. Mind you, this was 3 months away from my wedding date, so I was really nervous that it wouldn't come in on time. I ended up trying on another dress closer to my original vision, a-line, long sleeve, and totally beautiful. Now this new dress was 2 sizes too big, but because of the original dress mishap, they said they would provide alterations for free! I was stunned by their kindness and their need to make what happened right. So now, 3 months before my wedding, I now had a new dress, and they were able to alter it to fit me perfectly. And listen, their tailor is literally amazing- so don't doubt the power of a great tailor, because the dress literally felt made for me after being way too big. To wrap it up, on my wedding day, my wedding coordinator did not know/could not zip up my dress. I'm going to skip all of the crash out moments (lol), but long story short, we called Casablanca, and they a) tried to explain it over the phone, then b) facetimed us to try and show how to get the dress to zip up, and when that didn't work, they literally drove down to my wedding venue and helped me into my dress. When I tell you these ladies are angels, I MEAN IT. I could not believe how much they were willing to do to make sure I was able to wear my incredibly beautiful dress. THANK YOU Casablanca!!! I cannot recommend them enough. You all are amazing and helped me feel "like a million bucks"!

I have to start off with Rowena, who is amazing at what she does! I came in with an idea, a vision,…read morea budget range, sample images, and although I didn't get exactly what I had envisioned, I came out with an equally beautiful dress within my budget. Made an appt for the next available Saturday which was 3 weeks away. My wedding is 10 months away, so I knew I had to give enough time for shipping. If all goes well, the dress will be arriving 4 months to the wedding, to which we have ample time for dress fitting. There are 2 main waiting areas at Casablanca, downstairs and upstairs. We waited downstairs until the previous party was completed with their appt, to which we then moved upstairs. I showed Rowena pictures, she pulled a 3 options out. I already knew I didn't like the way some of them looked, she then pulled out 3 more. Then I tried them on. By that point, I already narrowed it down to that 2nd set of 3, Rowena had picked out. Came back the next day with my mom and sister for final approvals. Paid for and ordered a dress that Sunday. The process for trying on dresses was seamless and painless, thanks to Rowena. She truly is amazing at her job and makes you feel so comfortable. As for parking, there are a few stalls in their garage, or you can pull up on the grass up front if your car can go off-roading a little bit. There's also street parking nearby, but definitely carpool if you got several people coming by with you.

On top of that, she was even able to design a beautiful dress for my mom (green dress pictured) with pretty short notice, which meant so much to both of us! It took total of 5 appointments and dress pick up. Initially I liked both Jenny Yoo Martina dress ( simple, elegant style) and then Lillian West dress ( Boho floral lace style) that Rachel brought out to try on last. But for 2nd try on appointment, Jenny Yoo dress I liked was sold before I could try it on again. Their summer sale event ( all dresses discontinued from their racks on sale, so they can make room for new dress inventory) was going to occur the following week. I knew at that moment that I needed to select Lillian West dress, as my other option since there was no other dress from racks I wanted to try on from inital appointment and this appointment. The style I liked was A line, v neck with nice dress train and not too gothic, over bling out. With that summer sale, they cannot hold inventory for customers as it first come, first served when the shop opens. I selected that Lillian west dress before it sells off the racks. Rachel honored, gave me the sale price $500 with tax. With the alterations too, cost for the dress was over $1600 with total price of just under $1,000 for both dress, dress bag and alterations together. What a steal compared to show" Say yes to the dress", all the dresses at Kleinfield cost way more and other dress shops on the island. With the fittings, seeing both the dress with wedding veil I bought from Etsy seller along with the pearl drop earrings from Amazon, image of me as bride was stunning and made me feel like I'm ready to say I do. Masako held onto the dress until day before my December wedding as I was nervous if my cats destroy my dress happiness. I got many compliments from friends, family and my husband's co-workers who thought that dress was beautiful along with make up, hair style I had done. Very glad I went with Masako and genuinely recommend to future and engaged gals to come here if you are budget friendly shopper as the managers will work with your budget and provide recommendations. Please make an appointment online as they are appointment only, no walk in are allowed. Parking is at Whole Foods parking lot and walk over. But if you are picking up dress or having it cleaned/preserved, you are allowed to park in their assigned stalls, that way you do not carry that heavy thing across the street.

Shopping in Downtown Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. Looking for a gown for a formal wedding, I entered Do's Formal. Located on the corner of King Street and Smith Street, I parked in a loading zone which is free after 4pm. Inside, the store is filled with many gowns and even tuxedos! The variety colors and styles is overwhelming. I saw the arrows on the ground which help customers because a person could get lost in there! Service was friendly in the beginning, but cooled off in the end when I didn't like the dress that was suggested to me. I went in the dressing room, but didn't need help with the zipper. I did pull the straps shorter for a better fit, but tailoring the dress would be too much. If you need a wedding gown, suit, or prom dress, take a look here! The first one we canceled because the girl who was going to assist had a cough! Even though, she would wear a mask, we didn't want to take any chances! So fortunately, we went here Do Formals! It is in Chinatown and since it was a Sunday, we could find street parking! The first 2 dresses fitted her perfectly! "Like a glove" no alterations needed except to hem! It was fate! Will be back to get it hemmed! Thanks a million Jackie for all your help and valuable recommendations!

If you're not familiar with what that is, it's basically a formal women's long dress that is worn at special occasions or events. That day I also purchased a Barong Tagalog for myself as I also walked my sister down the aisle representing my late father. A Barong Tagalog is a men's formal shirt, majority in beige color, but also comes in other solid or ombre colors.  This past weekend, I had to go in to purchase another Barong for my grandfather's funeral. He will be wearing it in his casket at his upcoming memorial service. Via is the shopkeeper who runs Bloom and I met her 2 years ago, she is lovely and extra personable, efficient with what she does. Her shop didnt have many to choose from as she she's been busy with other orders for funerals, and her next large shipment isnt until end of May. I was happy to know that the perfect shirt was on hand, in the perfect size. As much as I'd love to go back to The Philippines to and have an abundant selection of Barong to choose from, a last minute roundtrip ticket with 2 weeks worth of quarantine is not ideal during this time hehe.
