Mary's White Pine Bakery is located in the quaint Adirondack town of Inlet. A favorite of locals and a ritual for vacationers, people get in line way before the 7:00am opening. Though the line is long everyone waits patiently. It's a good time to relax, strike up a conversation and enjoy the early morning Adirondack air. One group at a time enters this tiny bakery and you are rewarded with the most delectable smells of fresh fried donuts, pastries, and bagels. The staff are super cool. You never feel rushed even though there are many groups behind you. They are polite and helpful in assisting with your order. The bakery does have cold drinks and coffee as well. The team at Mary's White Pine Bakery are passionate at what they do. The staff bake and fry everything they serve in the early hours of the morning so you know you are going to get the tastiest and freshest baked goods. My favorites are their cinnamon sugar donuts, Croissants and a really awesome crunchy cinnamon airy pastry (forgot what they called it ahhh) that I've never had at any other bakery before! Grab a coffee along with your donuts and such and head around the corner to Arrowhead Park. Beautiful views of Fourth Lake and the low lying Mountain View's while you enjoy your breakfast! Mary's White Pine Bakery hours are 7:00am to 3:00pm.

    MAPLE DONUT TO DIE FOR

If youre a donut connoisseur...you need to go here. we will make the 1.5 hr drive to Inlet and revolve our trip around this little shop. HYPES: - the freshest, sweet, soft, melt in your mouth donuts. they sell out so get there by 12. - the maple donut deserves a bullet if it's own. it's just so good. nothing beats this - the eclairs are also delicious as are the jelly donuts. - good covid safe protocols and outdoor seating!

    Maple glazed donut, our favorite!

This place is very popular in Inlet. They had folks wait outside and each party would go in separately, which I thought was nice for social distancing. They had tables under the shade to sit down and eat at. We ordered three donuts, our favorite being the maple glazed donut, which is not what we expected our favorite would be! We also ordered a cup of milk. Really yummy, but not the best breakfast before hiking!

Nothing beats Mary's donuts! I worked in the Adirondacks a couple summers ago and quickly learned that Mary was a local legend. Folks from surrounding area(s) lined up outside to get a taste of her delicious donuts. Eclairs, cinnamon, maple glazed, etc. all ready to go and made fresh daily. Not to mention, the prices are unbeatable. $1.50 for a donut? Count me in! But make sure to come early. The line starts at around 6:30/6:45am and you don't want to miss out. Tons of other sales year round like sweet tea and coffee. Must have!!!

Bavarian Cream sold by the cup makes a delicious Boston Cream Pie!

Joel makes wonderful baked goods from scratch, the really good way. The donuts and chocolate eclairs, the fry cakes - so delicious. When I learned that they don't make cakes, I improvised, and bought his fabulous Bavarian Cream, which for him is a 3 day process and involves a lot of egg yolks and slow cooking. They sell all that goodness in large coffee cups, ready to eat (or use!) and it's totally amazing. I just added a cake and some ganache, but those are the easy parts - that cream makes it sensational. Thank you Joel!

Have you heard of the little engine that could? This is the tiny but mighty bakery. I've been…read morevisiting Lake Placid for years, but only discovered this bakery this year, mostly by following its patrons who were perambulating around the Main Street with what looked like amazing little scones. Speaking of said scones, they're fantastic. If you're expecting biscuit-line scones, these might be a bit of a disappointment. These are on the bread-ier side of the pastry spectrum, but no less satisfying. We tried the blueberry almond scone and the raspberry white chocolate, and both were scarfed down within minutes. I also love that these aren't sickly sweet. Paired with a latte (for which I highly, highly recommend getting a pump of the hazelnut syrup), Bluesberry Bakery was responsible for supplying some of the best breakfasts we had during our stay in Lake Placid. City folks ought to temper their expectations. This is a small town bakery on a quaint main street, and inside, space is tight. There isn't any seating space, and if two or more groups of customers come in simultaneously, the rest of the queue has to wait outside the door. But things behind the counter are manned by a small, dedicated crew of folks who keep things moving. As with any bakery that makes things fresh, come as soon as the urges hit; when they're out, they're out. I learned this the hard way when I came late afternoon for a scone and found they were sold out.

Very cute little shop on the main street of town. It is first come first serve, so once they're…read moreout of something, they are sold out for the day. They also accept Venmo as payment, which is helpful since I think it is cash only otherwise. I would have liked to see some blueberry based items (like I saw online), but must be seasonal since there were a lot of apple-based options (I visited in November). I must have ordered at least 2 dozen pastries for my friends at the cabin we stayed at for the weekend hike. It cost just under $75 so very reasonable priced and everything it devoured. I got to have the cinnamon roll which of course was delicious. I got to try the apple strudel, and the apples were crisp...as in like biting into a fresh apple. Not too sure how they did that but it was very good!
